SIDE NOTE FROM BUNNY: These Brats spawn out by the portal, move your maze over to the exit point from the portal. This should help to start directing them. More coming as I play with some items to make mazes. Feel free to elaborate on yours too. Post pics if you’d like. 😉
Where you are on FP Levels as well as Districts open will determine your Spawn Rate on these kids. Expect to see at least 2 every 30 mins Minimum and up to 6 Maximum. The total amount you will see will be at least 8 Minimum Total and up to 48 Maximum Total in your Quahog at one time.
Collect Stink Bombs to Defeat these little “terrors” and they’ll drop items for Ghostbuster Joe, Candy Corn and more for you!

I’m thinking in stocking up the halloween decos like the leaves and trees. I was wondering – what is the maximum that I can store in my inventory of each deco that I can buy? Is 99 of each deco the max or does it go up more than that?

Hi Girls, Quick question: I had just opened Peter’s dialogue for the Week 3 challenge and my game crashed, so I knew there was a three day time limit – when I reloaded, the exclamation point was back above his head. My question is, if I leave it for a while and stockpile stink bombs, will I have three days from when I click on Peter or does the timer just start when the new phase starts?

As long as you don’t see it in your side task bar you’ll have 3 days when you click on him…it won’t start counting down until you see it in your task bar.

I cant believe I did it again. I fixed his grave. I didn’t even know who He was till I saw his pick on your web site. I was able to get the last one with 2 hours to spare… but this time… joe isn’t even done his normal task to start on his costume yet. I though… “There is no way Tiny Co will make an other grave with out the character needed to complete the task”. The first time was a mistake. The second time… I was an idiot.

You know… I love this game, but for the second event in a row they have something that causes me a ton of issues in regards to how my phone works. The kids are doing the same thing the minions were doing and making the game lag for me and freezing my phone to the point of needing to restart just to get back into the game. I understand I can’t afford the best hardware to play the game on, but it grinds my gears that these updates cause such issues, and I’m sure that, like the minions, the kids will stick around until the end of the event to the point that I can’t wait for the event to just end so I can play the game easily again.
All that said, I look forward to seeing where the rest of the event goes, I’m enjoying it overall, but this small thing just messes with me.

Yea, I had to do that with the minions and I was just starting to get things back in order from then. I’ll be taking a look at the necessary buildings tomorrow for the event as well as the mayor and tom tucker quests. Thanks for the reply :), the little frustrations get just a bit maddening sometimes. Also, since I forgot to say so before, I received the cards from the Comic-Con contest, made my day when I received them and I liked the little business card that was sent along with, I have them tucked away safely until I can display them somewhere. 🙂

Ok I need some advice from anyone willing. I have all the bones and tears I need for Mr weed and im at 15000 viles. Should I stick it out for another day or two and collect enough viles to brew him? Or should I spend the viles on the New buildings? And the jars on brewimg stuff for Francis? Help!

If you take a peek at this post, you will see the 3 items you need to acquire him. Then if you tap on your cauldron…you will see what that will take to Brew them. So my suggestion is make them first, then dig him up.

I agree with Bunny. Get what you need to keep the game progressing and wait on Mr. Weed. Since you’re so close now it won’t take you much time to get what you need for Mr. Weed after getting things for Francis and anything else that could help out now.

So far I can’t seem to find any pattern for the kids’ movement. They also walk through buildings and fences. I shouldn’t have started bombing them and thus started the challenge! Panicking trying to find a way to corral them, I’ve only managed to hit three at a time otherwise.

The best way ive found is to get them as there coming out. They tend to be in a straight line so if u drop the bomb just outside of the event district they seem to walk right into it. The least ive gotten was 6 and have gotten 8 twice.

7hrs in and I only have 5trick r treaters…I’m doing the math; this isn’t happening.
I’ll bomb 5or6 of them and it will only register 1 or 2 of them. Major bummer.

They walk right through my fences. Is there an item that you can currently buy the kids will not walk through? Lava is obviously not able to be purchased anymore. Trying to build a maze, but no idea what will hold them in.

The update is pretty cool…But now there’s SO MUCH stuff walking around my town! Ghosts, Banshees, Terror Dogs, Kids, plus additional dogs bc I haven’t unlocked Adam West yet. Kinda drives me crazy.

Speaking of regular dogs, is there a quest for them in particular? I got rid of a couple with Mayor West, but I didn’t get anything, and nothing is telling me to do so, so I held off on removing the rest of the dogs until I know for sure if there’s a reason. I don’t want to remove them and then have a quest I can’t finish pop up later where there is a reward or a drop from them.

FYI: don’t sweat a maze. Have 2 stink bombs ready, load the game, go to the graveyard and just wait. You can only kill 15 at a time and they seem to spawn far more. Easy pickings, no maze needed, no fuss. I have 11 books and 20-some pieces of candy corn already and 67/200 for the portal.

Yes, but if you have hit the limit of Trick or Treaters in your town, you can only spawn what you kil.
So it sems the only way to do this is spend days crafting stink bombs as fast as you can and then start bombing them on the 3rd day.
1 neeed to clear at least 15 and then be ready with another bomb for the next time they spawn. Hitting more than 2 at a time will take patience and waiting.

Same method I’m using, got 15 a few times, currently hit 87. Let’s hope they do a trophy for hitting x amount at once like they did for the minions.

So I ran the maze trick. Moved buildings and built a crude maze out of basic $25 hedge right next to the portal. Seems to work the trick was able to bomb all 5 that came out.
Now the problem.
I built the confessional subsequently levelling me up to level 5. I swear at least 20 of the kids came screaming out and I had not a single bomb as the first of my 4hr tasks isn’t finished. Missed a great opportunity to get ahead. So in short if you are close to levelling don’t unless you have a bomb spare and be ready when the text stops.

This worked for me! Bombed twenty with two bombs. Hit level 5 after reading theism didn’t think anything was going to happen and then after about two minutes they all ran straight into my maze. Thank you!

You have to wait a bit. They game works on coding…sometimes when you add something new, the coding does not instantly recognize it. Give it time and it will. (See my post going live really soon on maze)

If you wait a few hours, then open your game, and right when it starts, go to bomb mode, and Center it right at the bottom of the portal and Halloween area, and wait, you’ll see the *poof* of the kids showing up and it should be a decent number of them. Once they start heading towards your town as the majority have breached into town drop the bomb and you’ll get like 15 right then. And if you stay in bomb mode you may get lucky to see a second wave come out. And you can get another 9 or so.

200 sounds excessive to me, especially since you can’t freeze them in place like you could the mutant Stewies, and because they scatter and don’t follow roads well, and you can’t count on Meg’s task to drop bombs.

At this point I am saying that I have NCIH of finishing this challenge. First stink bombs will be ready in the middle of the night. I could barely hit the little brats with the 3 practice ones. Looks like Ecto 1 is not happening for me.

Mazes have not worked on the trick or treaters like the last event. These guys walk through buildings and even into red areas on the side of the map past where buildings are allowed to be placed. So far ive found nothing to stop them from sprawling out and roaming wherever 😦

Get into bomb mode right wen you start your game and hover at the bottom of the portal/Halloween area and watch for the kids to poof out. As they come into town drop your bomb you’ll get 10+. I got 15, then stayed in bomb mode and another wave came out and got another 9. Don’t bother with mazes and strategies. Just go right there once the game starts and wait for them to spawn. A huge line goes right into town.

For stink bombing the kids I took drastic measures and put almost everything into inventory except for buildings I need and it gives these kids no place to hide and makes for setting up for a big stinking a lot easier.. I have no clams left for a maze….

On ios I was experiencing a glitch and couldn’t bomb the brats. First attempt zoomed in but never have me the cross hairs, never shot of the bomb, and the game wouldn’t come out of bomb mode, had to force close. Tried a second time and got the crosshairs, but still didn’t shoot of a bomb and couldn’t exit that mode without force closing again. I have reported it.

I’m extremely upset with the smoke bomb challenge. You can’t lure them to you like minion Stewie, it takes forever for the bombs.. There is no way to achieve this challenge without money. I do buy things on here, but I refuse to on this one. I’m so disappointed in this one… Makes me dislike the whole Halloween down load… That is major carrot dangling with the Ghost Buster car.. Wrong in so many ways.

I ACCIDENTALLY started the Francis dig, so by now I only have 8 hours before his grave is repaired. So now it’s a mad dash to get the items I need for him.
Fortunately though, I think I’m in striking range. I have the Spirit Vial Factory so vials are not a concern. I’m only missing 2 Terror Dog Bones to craft the Confessional, and I’m missing 2 Banshee Tears for the Pulpit, however I’m only at 10 candy corn, so I need 15 more in order to craft the pulpit. No bombs currently so I’m nervous as heck. Think I’m going to have to purchase a 15 pack. Too bad, I’d rather spend the clams on the Demonic Box.

I’ve got 162 already. Bomb them right as they come out of the portal. Do this when you start your game and get into bomb mode first and hover right at bottom of portal area. Wait for the kids to spawn and a huge line of them streams down and pop them as they are almost in town. 15 at once.

Not really worried about the amount of kids, I’m worried about the amount of stink bombs. You don’t get them from ghosts like you did with nerds (not that they spawn as much as nerds did,) and it mostly takes 8 hours to have a shot at one (uncommon rarity no less.)
Frankly, I don’t see how this is doable in three days to complete the weekly challenge. Seems like they’re trying to make it not quite as easy as it was during Comic Con, but in doing so, they’ve made it seemingly impossible without spending clams. And even if you did buy 25 bombs, you’d still have to hit 8 kids every single time to reach 200 kills.
It’s just frustrating how often this seems to happen, with the mere mechanics of it are impossible unless you plonk down more and more money for clams. And I fully get that’s the point and how they make their money, but like I said, even spending clams in this instance isn’t a guarantee toward success. I buy clams now and again to help out, open a mystery box, etc., but as someone who checks the thing at least once every hour, I’m kinda getting tired of worrying all the time that I’ve lost before I’ve even tried.

Much of what they do, they do in a way that Freemiums can play too. I do not see them intentionally pushing something that was not doable for the regular player. I am looking at ways to corral the kids and testing a few theories. As far as bomb collection, my suggestion is give them feedback on it.

Oh yeah, I’m not saying they do it on purpose. But they do seem to neglect to do the math sometimes. The parameters are just too varied for this to be accomplished by your average player, unless you’re extremely lucky and attentive.
Doing the math, if you get a bomb every time (unlikely due to uncommon rarity,) and get every single possible bomb task done in the three day window (also unlikely due to sleep and life and such,) and get at least 3 kids during every kill (questionable due to them moving around, and spawn rate dependent on your Fright Level,) that’s 60 bombs, at 3 kills each, meaning 180 kills, 20 short of the goal. Let’s assume your average player gets half that, 30 bombs, then they need to hit 6 or 7 kids every shot. Obviously it depends on each individual player and what they can hit, but like I said above, if you buy the 24 pack of bombs (not 25 like I thought,) then you still need to hit 8 kids each shot to achieve the challenge. It’s not impossible, but it is improbable. Too much so.
I just wish they would figure this themselves before the challenge and realize how lofty it is. This isn’t the first time this has happened, when an event needs a certain amount of something by a certain time and it’s just not realistic given who can do what and for how long, even if you as the player make the game your life’s work. To their credit, they’ve changed things in the past and made it better, but it doesn’t make it any less annoying.
Anyway, I’ll go ahead and write a shortened version of this as feedback in game. Personally I’d hope for easier bombs, but making the challenge to get 100 kids might work as well (or if we could just tap them like the minions.)

Actually, I think I fudged the numbers myself.
3 bombs a day for 8 hour tasks (24 hours in a day,) 9 bombs per character in the 3 days in the challenge, 36 bombs across 4 characters. Then 6 bombs a day for 4 hour tasks, 18 bombs per character in the 3 days, another 36 bombs across 2 characters. So 36 + 36 = 72 bombs possible across every character during the 3 day challenge. Not 60 like I said.
Still, that’s assuming a bomb every time, a task restarted immediately every time (and within that 3 day cut off,) and 2-3 kids hit every single time. The 30 bomb scenario is still more realistic for your average player, and at 7-8 kids hit each time needed, much more unlikely.
But I digress. TinyCo has always been good at listening in the past.

My stink bombs aren’t as potent as the missiles from Comic-Con. I’m getting 5-6 kids traversing within the impact nucleus, but only kill 2 of them.
There’s no way in hell I’m reaching this goal. I won’t even get 100 kids in time 😦

Don’t rush through new portal update too quickly! Once you’ve bombed all 200 kids then you’ll have no more tasks to do until next week’s portal update in 6 days time. Ghostbusters roll out part 8 is only doable for the first part of the task. The other part of this task is you upgrading portal to marshmallow portal which isn’t doable until next update. So, take time this week or you just be left bombing kids all week with nothing to do…..

If it helps, I think they sped up the stink bomb smoke. Feels like they can’t really outrun it like they did last event.

This is an awesome update. TC has done a great job with this update. The only thing I don’t like at this moment is that they started the 3 day timer for that special prize if you get 200 trick or treaters. But it takes forever to earn the bombs. The clam price to buy bombs is not realistic.

How about trying your luck with Demonic Stewie Mystery Box, perhaps i was super lucky, but i had to do something about getting more stink bombs and the Happy-Go-Lucky Toy Factory which gives stink bombs every 6 hours is the only viable way. Had 152 clams, first try, i won 100 clams, then second try and i got the factory, and i still have 152 clams! It is like getting the factory for free.
Of course, your luck may vary!
Hopefully this will be enough for me to catch the 200 kids in 3 days…

To get 200 trick or treaters in 3 days you will need to have roughly 15 stink bombs getting 5 t or ts with each, each day. That will get you 75 a day. Which will be 25 more than you need but allows room for error. If you have all the characters that get stink bombs, you can get 16 bombs in 16 hrs. Allowing 8 hrs of sleep, but you’ll have to get on at least every 4 hrs. Good luck, I know it’s gonna be close for me.

I really dont think it is possible… My trick or treaters already spread out so I cant seem to get more than two at a time (and I have to wait till the morning for bombs). With Comic-Con, I think the challenge was to get 300 mutant stewies, but the nerds dropped bombs so often, and spawned every 6 min, so I would get about 5 bombs an hr. Not to mention you could tap the stewies so I would hit about 8 on average each hit. This time around, people will just barely be getting 5 bombs every 8 hrs and can only hit more than two at the point of when they spawn. I play very often (try to log in every couple hours) but I do work and do need sleep. Not going to lie…pretty pissed it seems I have to spend a crap ton of clams… When not only did I just spend a bunch of clams at Comic-Con, but the clams just bought, were to go to buy Cleveland.

You can always get bombs in 12 or 24 lots from shop if you think you might run out of time or cutting it close to time limit.

TIP: (Bunny and Alissa please correct if I am wrong. Otherwise you may want to put in the update) it seems if you do not complete Rollout part 2 which is to bomb 5 trick or treaters, the weekly chalange will not trigger, and you can go about collecting items for Joe and accumulating stink bombs until you are ready to trigger the weekly chalange. Obviously I’m only a few hours into like everyone else, but so far no weekly chalange yet, and I’m earning items and bombs in prep for it.

That is a good strategy. We always try to tell our eager lil fellow Addicts to SLOW DOWN…lol. Hard I know. But allowing proper time to accumulate items and get things stocked up is really a good approach. 🙂

I began comiccon late as a new player and waiting to begin each challenge while collecting the ammo (after reading everyone’s frustrations here) made it possible for me to get every challenge freemium.
I will begin this one Sunday as I have a busy weekend. Not easy to wait, but I really want the grand prize!
