A few in game changes just happened to our Tiny Quahogs…
TinyCo has made some changes to the Trick-or-Treater requirements and a new character has joined Quahog! Let’s take a look at the new changes shall we?
First up…the number of required Trick-or-Treaters has dropped from 200 to 150….
Changes to Stink Bomb Tasks:
A few changes have been made to tasks as well…the previous 8hr task has now been reduced to 4hrs. Here’s a list of who can now earn Stink Bombs:
Bonnie– Make Stink Bombs, 4hrs
Pink Brian- Pretty in Pink, 4hrs
Bruce- Make Stink Bombs, 4hrs
Chris- Make Stink Bombs, 4hrs
Jake- Make Stink Bombs, 4hrs
Slutty Cat Meg- Punch-Drunk Dance, 4hrs
Mort- Make Stink Bombs, 4hrs
New character…Alien also has a 4hr task to earn them!
So they shortened the task time for those that were previously 8hrs…AND they added a Stink Bomb task for Bruce.

New Questline:
A Town Perseveres…we’ll have a walkthrough on this coming up. BUT Lois starts this, and wants you to build the Brookfield Insane Asylum.
New Premium Character:
As many of you guessed was coming….Alien has arrived in Quahog! It’ll cost you 200 Clams (and comes with an egg).
Alien’s questline is called Man’s Best Friend and everyone will get this. Your first task is to build Nostromo, and it’s kicked off my Lois.
Also, if you purchase predator during the questline you’ll earn 12 free smoke bombs 🙂

My Alien questline won’t even start. I bought the xenomorph as soon as it popped up. Does this mean I won’t get to participate?

No it’ll start for you. It’s just a little delayed in triggering. Other questlines trigger it. So just keep going it’ll pop up for you 🙂

This quest didn’t trigger for me until after I brewed the iron maiden. I had already bought the alien & I did get the 12 bomb bonus when that part of the quest line triggered. Just have to build the Nostromo first.

Thanks to you guys and the maze ideas I was able to get over the 150 with plenty of time to spare hitting 14-15 every four hrs. Or so. Definitely doable with no clams!! Now i can take this week to focus on Mr. Weed.

Trick or treaters are now definitely spawning randomly around town instead of coming through the portal. I’d built up a small stock of bombs so I could try to kill enough to make them spawn in a bunch from the portal, got a countdown to witch kids, killed a bunch, then waited for them by the portal, only to have nothing happen when the timer expired.
Then I used most of my remaining bombs to make sure they would respawn, closed the game, reopened, and instead of a wave from the portal, there were puffs of smoke all over town when I came back.

I have noticed they are no longer spawning at the portal but on the sidewalks. So removing most the sidewalks might help.

Yes it is a help but still wont be able to get them in time, only one and a half days and only have 30 so not going to happen, the problem is not the drop rate, or who is dropping stink bombs, but that only 3 days is to short, thanks for trying but not going to be able to achieve this task and will miss out on the car.

Is there a UK customer service number for tinyco? I spent clams trying to help me towards the original target of 200 to get the special prize to now see it has been lowered. While I am glad it has been lowered, I only spent clams because a certain goal had to be reached in a short time! I do feel robbed. I appreciate it is my choice to spend clams but I feel “moving the target” is wrong when clams (from real money) is involved. Especially is a short task deadline!!

Sorry, there is no phone line in existence for their tech support. USA or elsewhere. Only forms of contact are email or directly through the game. If you have already messaged them from the game, allow them proper time to respond. No one is in on the weekends.

If you have a ton of tasks still open in your task menu, there is no room for the new ones. Clear some of them out and that should leave room for the new ones.

I think that was it. I finished the Predator questline and the Alien one popped up a short while later. Helped loads with the challenge.

I am not going to finish this challenge. I have 13 down and less than 2 days to go. They aren’t bunching like the mutant stewies. The aren’t even following my roads, they just run around all over the place. Empty fields, through buildings. It’s pretty sloppy.
And you can’t even tap them to hold them still. It’s a lost cause for me at this point, even with the lowered target.

Clear out some of the other tasks in your task menu if it is full. This will allow room for new ones to pop up.

First off, for the zillionth time (when do you two get giant trophies?) you are doing an awesome job. I know both you and TinyCo probably get more negative comments than positive ones, so you deserve a ton of credit! I just got the week 3 prize (I sped up some tasks before they changed the amount), and I have to save it is my favorite design out of anything they’ve done so far, hands down. It would probably look even more amazing if it were animated, but I really don’t care if it stays static.

No, other quests trigger it. It’ll prompt when you get closer to the end of the main questline.

Not to nerd out, but the queen is gigantic, and is the one Ridley kills at the end of Aliens. This is just a normal xenomorph, and we got the egg he hatched from. Thanks for everything you all do on the site, I read daily!

You are both correct. Technically the Queen is the one that lays the eggs. The “boys” are the ones that kill. Similar to a hive mentality. So…BOTH could be the correct answer. HER egg as in the Queen laid it. HIS egg as in he hatched from it. 😉

Not all aliens from Aliens were the Queen Alien thus you were correct by saying an egg. The Queen Alien also would be around 3X the size of the one that is pictured or bought here.Know most of this is a moot point but so much wrong in the above correction. Like the fact that there wasn’t a queen in the original film Alien..so much wrong…

First of all….look at the time. It was 1 am on the east and 10pm on the west when you posted this comment. Unfortunately, glitches that happen late are harder to get resolved. An instant response isn’t always possible…especially if they have thousands of tickets coming in. They will get back to you..

Same issue bought a bin of clams Thursday night when update hit. Nothing.Contacted Tinyco 3 times and no response. Right in the middle of very time sensitive quests. Extremely disappointed and will find better uses for my $.

As with any business, they are open regular week day hours. You as well as Tens of Thousands of players messaged them. Especially right after the new portal hit. If you have a lil patience, they will get back to you.
Just picture yourself sitting at a desk with Tens of Thousands of people in line. Each one with an issue that can take 30 mins to 6 or more hours to resolve. How many would you be able to get through in one day?
I get that you want instant results, but you also need to understand realistic time frames of response. 🙂

If you get this again, look around your town, you might be temporarily out of dogs. I’ve run out or dogs and banshees a couple times. Especially if you’ve got multiple characters banishing them. Send them on an hour quest and usually by the time they are done you’ll have 4 more banshees/dogs and you can resume doing those quests.

Is it just me, or does it seem like this event is harder to get stuff than previous events? I’m more than halfway done with unlocking Joe’s GB outfit and I just now finished Quagmire’s. Maybe I just had awful luck with getting those helmets.

if everyone was a little more patient and checked out fg addicts before clicking away in their games, they would save themselves a ton of stress. i am a 100% freemium player and am able to get all of the characters or items i want. my strategy time and time again… collect as much as possible before starting challenges (ex. digging up diane). advice: if you didn’t bomb 5 trick or treaters right away, the weekly challenge wouldn’t start and you could take your sweet time collecting bombs. geez man, this is a great game. quit your complaining and have fun! thanks for all your help girls!

I got the Alien and its egg during the Lois quest but didn’t get the 12 stink bombs! I contacted TinyCo about this because idk if it is a glitch or not. Did anyone experience this if you got the Alien?

The stink bombs and the reward came right after. Once I got them I immediately replied to TinyCo to thanks them. These guys and you and Bunny really work hard trying to help each and everyone with this game that it’s really a joy to play. Once again thank you 😊

Did they change it so that they no longer spawn at the portal? I just used about 5 bombs to get 25 kids 2 hours ago and didn’t see any spawn when I returned but my town is crawling with them again.

I like that Tinyco made changes but the drop rate for the stink bombs seem more like rare than uncommon. I only got 2 stink bombs in 2 days and I have the characters on task nonstop. I drop more of the rare items for Joe than the stink bombs. I only have 9 kids. 😦
I don’t want to spend the money I want to use to buy alien on stink bombs. I am not getting the quest for him so if I do buy, I won’t have the opportunity for stink bombs. So now I have to choose between the ghost buster car and alien.

I’m happy about the changes but not the timing, I’m pretty much screwed, almost half the time has elapsed on my timer and the kids are everywhere, getting 5 or 7 at best per bomb and can’t get enough bombs to keep things going. sitting at 43/150. I’m a bit short on clams for the alien and I would have spent the $5 prior to this mess, but right now I’m thinking twice about sinking more money in.

Haven’t seen the new Lois task pop up yet, but I’ve got the building already so I’m just waiting.
As for the trick or treaters, I hit the 200 earlier, and have since been pretty much ignoring them. Which, if this event proves to be like comic-con (which I for one don’t really mind, as long as I keep getting the Ghostbusters stuff), I may be setting myself for a ‘fun’ time with that last round, having to hunt those little suckers down one by one. So I guess for now I’ll just keep working on hoarding some stink bombs.

Wow these events bring out some super negative people. While I am sooo sorry you two ladies have to read the worst of it. I am also very thankful for the fact that your hard work makes this place a positive experience each and every time I visit. Although being thankful for what Tinyco adjusted is not a necessity the overbearing comments of negativity are confusing…look they just knocked it down so you only need fifty a day they not only cut task times in half effectively giving you double the chance of getting bombs but they added another character to collect bombs (Bruce). Pretty sure the only one’s complaining at this point would complain if they randomly gave everyone fifty clams because you wanted more …smh

The people complaining are doing so because giving us more chances to get bombs also gives us more chances to NOT get bombs. Some people simply aren’t as lucky as others.
And no one came out and said it, but the kids don’t spawn at the portal anymore, they just spawn randomly in town. So taking away our most effective strategy to get more sort of negates the helpfulness of reducing task times and needed kids. I’m really no more confident I can succeed than before.
I just plain don’t understand why this was so complicated in the first place. I don’t like making sour comments like this, but I also don’t like feeling that I’m being punished for things I can’t control, and being told that I’m just a complainer. If you had only gotten two bombs in your last eight tasks, you’d likely still be complaining too. And forgive me for venting, but I hope they take this into account when planning tasks for the future. I would have hoped they learned their lesson from the Stripper Bonner fiasco, and nobody was saying “Welp, can’t please em all!” during that.

A trap I found works since update is to make a 4 square road (remove all other roads from town) then make a maze off that (not too long or they won’t walk through it about 4-5 small zig-zags at most)

Yep the update is spawning the kids from the road instead now for me too. Had to rework my maze but with the other changes it still seems possible now to complete! I think I can manage logging in every two hrs to bomb them now that its the weekend 🙂

It is nice they listen to us, but they could’ve seen it coming themselves, 8 hour tasks, change of no drop and not being able to tap the kids like with the Stewies. It was impossible. It still might be, since half of the time is gone already.

It’s a quest reward, not a purchase bonus. I bought him early, too. I just finished the ship, and got the bombs as a reward.

Are you sure? did they really screw you like that? I thought Nostromo was a decoration like predators ship, and when I didn’t see it, I thought it was still pulled from the game like I read here so bought both Alien and Predator together.
I have started building Nostromo cause checked the building secton after seeing this but if don’t get the stink bombs I am done with buying clams. Every single time i do, there is some sad trombone frustation that makes me feel like an idoit for doing it.

I guess what i am really asking is have you gotten to part 2 of the quest and not gottn the stink bombs or are you just assuming you wont because of what is written in this update?
It could be that what Alyssa wrote didn’t mean that the order of what you do matters. I fact that would be the first time buying something early didn’t count toward a goal. And only giving the stink bombs to certain customers who opened their wallet and alienating early adopters who buy at first sight is not the best way to keep peoe spending money.
If I do get the stink bombs my Zuul Portal troubles are as good as over, lol!

SO MUCH STUFF TO DO! My task list just keeps getting longer and longer. Excited for the Alien character even if it was a little expected. Loving the Halloween event. On another note, I could not respect a company more for either admitting they made a mistake or listen to there customers and making changes to things. (We all know what I’m talking about) Mad props the TinyCo. and keep up the good work!

The reductions are great. It’s nice to see a company actually listens to its client base. Sucks about Bruce on my part, I sent him on a long task. I think I might make it through though. I like collecting all the vehicles and want this car as well. Thanks again ladies for all of your help.

I almost wonder if they deliberately mess things up, with the plan of later changing it, in order to cultivate the “we listen” image. A kind of Stockholm syndrome for the players.

Ok so all im saying is it would be nice if some of these badass characters theyve been adding wer available for spirit vials im sure it would take alot of them but still at least everyone would have a shot. Of course im just çomplaining cuz even though ive spent plenty on clams tinyco goes and catches me with my pants down and in between paychecks lol.

Changes were nice but the drop rate for stink bombs still sucks…had all of 6 in the last day plus…Alien will help, but may be too little too late….and after 6 tries of the stewie box still no toy factory.

Argh, they added Bruce to get Stink Bombs, but I currently have him in the middle of doing the 20 hour task to get Blueprints for Stewie. I’ll have to wait 7 hours to get him started.
Its good to know they listen to my comment about adding unused characters to get Bombs.

Decided to make the change after I only needed about 20 more trick or treaters. I was bombing right at the portal when they spawned hit 14 almost every time. Guess I caught a glitch.

Have you heard anything through the grapevine on whether or not Predator and Alien will be the only premium characters for the event? I have some clams saved up but don’t want to use my clams if more may be appearing soon. I understand if you can’t say.

I think we’re getting Jason Voorhees and Freddy Kreuger as well. Can’t remember where I read it. One of the spoiler sites so it may not be correct. I’d hold onto the clams though. I’d be surprised if at least one more character didn’t pop up.

HAHAHAHAH oh spoiler sites. So many times we have seen in many games, just because it is in the files does not mean it will make it to the game. ESPECIALLY with TinyCo. They make changes up to the point it is released and beyond. Hence why we never post “spoilers”. I want to see it in the game myself. Otherwise, I could say ANYTHING is coming and call it a spoiler. I could say Smurfs are gonna be in the game and write all about it. Doesn’t mean its gonna happen. 🙂

It doesn’t matter that they lowered the number of kids or the quest times when nobody actually drops any bombs and you can’t stop the kids by tapping on them!!!! They NEED to change the bomb drops to always instead of super rare, change it so we can tap them to stop them and add a minimum of another day. Tapping on the kids is a MUST. Without it you are lucky to get more than 1 kid at a time..seriously 1 at a time x 7 characters (assuming you got pink brian and slutty cat meg.. I won’t have meg in time) x every 4 hours (that’s even getting up every 4 hours when sleeping) x 3 days (most of us are down to 2) = 142 which isn’t even enough. The changes did not make this less impossible, you are still forced to pay for premium characters and currency!

It’s not super rare, it’s uncommon. They are dropping…and many are already close to the goal even BEFORE the reduction..
I think you should reserve judgement until you’ve tried it with the new changes.. 🙂

Like I said.. 24 hours and ZERO drops for me. I just did the math and with no sleep I need a min of 2 per bomb and a perfect 100% drop rate in the time I have left. Impossible without changes to the drop rate and the ability to stop kids. As for those who are “close”… I don’t count people who pay for premium currency items as accurately reflecting what it’s like for the rest of us.

Trust me, this isn’t worth an argument. It’s a game. Games are supposed to be fun. If it’s frustrating you, stop playing. Don’t ruin it for others.
This morning EVERYONE was complaining about how many trick or treaters you had to get, and the fact that the tasks were 8hrs. So TinyCo not only reduced the number but also reduced the time…and people are STILL complaining. You know what that means? You can’t please everyone.

No, it means they didn’t fix the problem. Bombs still don’t drop enough and some people just won’t get what they need. Games ARE supposed to be fun and this stupid challenge with its luck based success rate has ruined it, all because they couldn’t be bothered to actually test this stuff before putting it out and realize how impossible it was.

Actually…i was saying the same thing to players this morning. Just try it and play. All I’m getting at is how much do you want them to actually do? Just say..”here you go, have a prize and do absolutely nothing to get it!” I mean come on…just play with the reduced numbers. They made adjustments…TRY with the adjustments. That’s all I’m getting at. AND if you looked at comments from yesterday morning my answer was the same, TRY IT. Save the complaining for the last day. But don’t go into something with a sour outlook on it. If you do you’ll just make the experience sour for yourself.

Gee, give the kid a break, he’s clearly frustrated and he’s not wrong about the bad drop rate. It would be better for everyone if T-Co fixed the drop rate so it’s more fun for everyone. Yeah, it’s great they did a partial fix for the overall issue, but it certainly doesn’t mean they nailed the fix. Frankly for many of us who started 8hr tasks just before the fix it won’t have any affect til we wake up tomorrow morning…after 1.5 days have already expired, so it doesn’t necessarily look like a giant change. Telling the guy to just give up and quit seems a little harsh. It doesn’t mean you can’t please everybody, it means if you have a car with 3 flat tires and the shop only fixes 2 of them, they’ve still got 1 problem left to fix…doesn’t mean you should throw away the car.

But we are also seeing it from another side. What is the point of a Challenge if there is no Challenge? Their drop rates have stayed pretty true to form since the game was released. It does not mean it is broken, it just means you are being given a Challenge to overcome. Why should they make the game simplistic and just hand it all over? That would be a pretty boring game if you ask me. How YOU play will determine your results and winnings.
Our thoughts are the same on all aspects. You may not see all we do as we moderate every comment and see what a specific player says over n over n over. If we see someone complain all the time about all the game aspects regardless what they are, there is a point it goes beyond venting and we see something else. Someone not enjoying a game. If you do not enjoy something, than why keep doing it? What is the point? What more will you gain from anger?
If you do not like the way a specific food tastes, would you still eat it every meal? Every day? No. I think you would stop. THAT is what she is pointing out. I know you may see it in a limited view, but we are only offering our perspective on what we see over n over n over as a game just not fun for someone.

I kind of agree with the fellow here. Before the changes even more, I’m having really bad luck on uncommon drops all over. The same with the oranges for Mayor West. Lois, Bonnie and Tricia all on a 12 hour quest, average drop 1 orange. Rare’s seem to drop way more often and I have the same issue on bombs. And on top I want those 12 bombs from alien, because I have Predator and without Alien I just own half a movie. That is unacceptable. But I’m waiting for the quest, but my Lois doesn’t give it to me. 😦
And since it’s a time pressed quest, that you really need to get the car, I can understand getting frustrated if droprates seem to hate you.

I don’t see how anyone is remotely close to 200 without spending major clams on stink bombs and/or getting extremely lucky…been playing fairly constantly the last 24+hours (minus sleep) aND only managed to get 6 or 7 stink bombs (using everybody and pink brian and cat meg…not counting the 3 freebies) which resulted in a grand total of 46 trick or treaters…there’s no denying that the drop rate for the stink bombs is awful.

Guess it’s just me but i feel they are not thinking abt character-task distribution. If we consider ghostbuster joe too, that’s 3 people that can get rid of terror dogs but only 1 freemium character fr the banshees. Maybe I’m a bit whiney but i would have preferred if joe had an option to clear either the dogs or the banshees… Thoughts??

Absolutely LOVING Alien. Although I know it won’t drop anything after the event in all likelihood, it’s these cool characters that keep me a premium player! Keep rollin’ out premium characters and I’ll buy every single one of ’em, TinyCo.
I’ve gotta say, 200 is a very reasonable clam price, too! Just wish Scarmara was a playable character though. Love the creepy animation and can only imagine what could have been. 😦

Am wondering too whether Zuul’s Portal might become involved somewhere later on in game, say in final week?
Also, you think they could’ve altered the design a bit more and not just stuck a portal image in front of a pyramid from the King Butt’s time line?

I wish the portal did something. It’s a cool building, but it just sits there. It’d be cook if it glowed or was animated and had a dog or spirit or something trying to periodically come out of the portal. That would make it so much cooler!
