A few in game changes just happened to our Tiny Quahogs…
TinyCo has made some changes to the Trick-or-Treater requirements and a new character has joined Quahog! Let’s take a look at the new changes shall we?
First up…the number of required Trick-or-Treaters has dropped from 200 to 150….
Changes to Stink Bomb Tasks:
A few changes have been made to tasks as well…the previous 8hr task has now been reduced to 4hrs. Here’s a list of who can now earn Stink Bombs:
Bonnie– Make Stink Bombs, 4hrs
Pink Brian- Pretty in Pink, 4hrs
Bruce- Make Stink Bombs, 4hrs
Chris- Make Stink Bombs, 4hrs
Jake- Make Stink Bombs, 4hrs
Slutty Cat Meg- Punch-Drunk Dance, 4hrs
Mort- Make Stink Bombs, 4hrs
New character…Alien also has a 4hr task to earn them!
So they shortened the task time for those that were previously 8hrs…AND they added a Stink Bomb task for Bruce.

New Questline:
A Town Perseveres…we’ll have a walkthrough on this coming up. BUT Lois starts this, and wants you to build the Brookfield Insane Asylum.
New Premium Character:
As many of you guessed was coming….Alien has arrived in Quahog! It’ll cost you 200 Clams (and comes with an egg).
Alien’s questline is called Man’s Best Friend and everyone will get this. Your first task is to build Nostromo, and it’s kicked off my Lois.
Also, if you purchase predator during the questline you’ll earn 12 free smoke bombs 🙂

What are the other quests that will trigger the Alien “Man’s Best Friend” quest? Been several hours since I bought the Alien character and still no prompt to start it. Also I already purchased Predator back when he was first offered, so does this mean I won’t be getting the 12 stink bombs? Thanks for all the information you guys post here.

How many open tasks do you still have unfinished in your task menu? If you have a lot, you may be preventing any new from showing up. Clear some out, no matter how old they are, and that should open space for new ones. 😉

I had to finishing bombing 5 tricker treaters. And I got the 12 bombs even though like you I’d already gotten Pred. 🙂

The tasks are a funny thing. If you have too many open, others will sit in “wait” til there is more room. So try to keep them clear when you can. 😉

Another awesome horror movie icon gets added, brought the Alien straight away, luckily I’d brought more Clams earlier that afternoon. Now I really hope that they add Freddy and Jason over the next few weeks, I would definitely buy them, but if they don’t I’m more than happy with what they’ve given us. I also have to thank you guys for the awesome job your doing on this site, I really appriciate all the time and effort you put into keeping us up to date with all that’s going on in this game, so thank you!

I’m a little confused about how to set up the maze. You can’t put fences on the road so i set up on the grass but no one is walking off the sidewalk and into my maze. Where exactly do you place it?

See my post here…I surround the edges of the sidewalk area…the only sidewalks I have…and branch out from there.

Well, the 4 hr. tasks didn’t really help. I sent everyone on their tasks this morning, just clicked on them, and wound up with 0 stink bombs.
Now I regret purchasing the Alien this morning. I used all my clams to do that as well this morning since I figured he could help me complete the task and that it would be do-able with the chances. Oh well, one more reasos why I much prefer TSTO to this game.

Ok I was on the fence about buying alien until I read she comes with 12 stink bombs. Even though I’m saving up for American Dad, I can’t pass that up! I also leared not to do ANYTHING until I check this site first. Thanks guys!

I have forced closed the game, uninstalled and reinstalled the game to no avail. I have 24 stink bombs that will not launch been like this from the beginning???

This sucks multiple new quests including the alien “mans best friend” one will not start for me. Cant get this quest to start or the “path of the riteous man” or the “insane asylum” quest. None of these quests are available for me….contacted tiny co yesterday and no response at all yet. This is rediculous by the time they “fix” this the challenge will be over and the 12 stink bombs i should be able to get by getting alien will be worthless since the challenge will be over. Really really frustrated and will not be spendng another dime on this game unless they rectify this. known im not the only one with this issue have seen many comments from users saying the same thing…

Can I ask…do you have a lot of tasks still open in your task menu? If so, that will create a “back log” of tasks and at times preventing others from triggering. Try to clear a few out, regardless what they’re for…and see if that helps to unlock the new ones you need.

Yah, there is only so much room for tasks on that menu…so if you leave a lot unfinished…regardless how new or old they are…they are taking valuable space for any new ones to appear. I just had to clear a task in my test game to get AVP line to pop up.

im at 143/150 should get it easily. Bought alien as a kind of panic move which helped. still its alien frickin sweet character. thanks for all the writing you guys do.

Alissa and bunny Can u also tell them to change the game to make everything free too. I don’t have money to buy clams so it’s not fair for me. Tell tinyco to put u on payroll cuz it seems like everyone think u can make tinyco do whatever u tell them too.

Nostromo is part 1 of it, however if you have not seen a task for it yet…it may be you have TOO many tasks open and unfinished on the task menu. If you do, there is no room for new ones. So clear a few of them.

anyone else having bombs dissapearing from your count? i sent 5 characters to get bombs… the 5 of them got them… when i was targeting my countdown said 5 but the sount of bombs (next to the tramps one) said 3….
used 3 bombs and the other 2 bombs dissapeared :O

Report this please. I noticed the count a bit off on the main screen vs when I tapped on it to shoot. Sometimes it takes the game a minute to sync up your totals.

So I bombed 30 in 2 shots earlier today. I set up the traditional maze with a single piece of road in the center and I’ll be dammed if after you have left the game for a while and log back in a large chunk of those Tricker Treaters that are supposed to be wandering around don’t respawn on the road and are forced to walk out of the maze. I’m 11 away from the 150 I need right now and the only clams I spent were 2 mystery boxes, one gave me 6 stink bombs the other gave me the Happy Go Lucky Factory (Which was what I was hoping for.. loving having those show landmarks).

AVP is stellar! Otherwise, I had abandoned hope of earning this weeks challenge, as the odds were stacked against it. Unless they reset the timer, I’m not gonna make it. : ( Thanks for the info, as always, though.

For the Brookfield Insane Asylum, how do you guys know there is a quest along with it? Does it start after getting GB Joe?

I got it just randomly in between quests. You just have to make sure you clear some tasks from your menu in order for it to be able to pop up.

Am I mistaken, or have they changed it so that the kids spawn on sidewalks now? Came back to my game after a couple of hours, having killed 15 or 20 the time before, and waited for kids to appear from the portal, and bombed a few in that area. Next thing I know, I see two big groups streaming from the lone patch of asphalt I placed in front of the Griffin home (anticipating this possibility). Can I get some confirmation on this?
Yes, this makes it easier to kill a bunch at once (like with the minion Stewies), but not if you’d already set up your Quahog for the “spawn from the portal” collection method…

Thought so. My only problem now is that the game doesn’t always completely close out for me, invalidating my strategy as the kids trickle back in while I’m away. I’ve got over 120 and a little over a day left, though, so I should be able to make it. Couldn’t have done it without the 12 stink bombs from Alien, though. Once you have 15 or so dead kids, it’s easy enough to whack another 15 two hours later when they all respawn at once, then another 15, etc. It’s those first 15, two or three at a time, that are such a pain in the ass…

Glad to see the changes even though they weren’t THAT significant. Noticed the trick or treaters are also spawning on my road in front of the Griffin’s home. Saved up 6 bombs and took out 15+ initially. Now I wait for them to spawn in front of the home, get 15, then wait for the next batch. Not sure if I will make it in time for 150, but I will sure try. I guess it wouldn’t be a challenge if it was simple.

I am hoping that there was an error in coding for the Man’s Best Friend quest and so contacted TinyCo in game. I don’t think it is fair that some people do not get the quest because they already purchased Alien. I bought Alien during the initial offer pop up, I already had the Asylum and then built the Nostromo. Every other quest line in the game still runs and then gives credit for items purchased/built. So it doesn’t seem right that if you already had the items that the quest didn’t appear (and I have had Lois doing 1 hour tasks for days so there is no reason for her not to start the quest). The only time prior purchases don’t apply is with the offers to buy clams/coins since this requires out of game purchases. All other in game purchases have previously counted in the quests.
Anyway, I asked them to check their coding to see if this was intended to only give credit for those who hadn’t already bought Alien or if it was a mistake. I sure hope it was a mistake because otherwise if this is a new process for quests then it will stop me from buying items when released, which shouldn’t be the intent of TinyCo.
But I still love Alien – that is why I purchased when it first appeared… When will it end? Will all the cool characters and events end up in the game?????

Got to applaud tiny co for this update, pleases the masses, including me haha! 😉 have 74 of 150 so I expect myself to get zuul’s portal as I have one day 9 hours left btw thanks for the regular updates and hints and tips, it really helps me plan out my day, best quest for stuff blog around 🙂

Love this update, however my game crashes repeatedly and I often have to repeat tasks, including bombing the TOTers. As a result, I often get fewer of the TOTers and have to use more stink bombs. TinyCo advised me to update my game. That doesn’t work.
Is anyone else experiencing repeated crashes?

Try another trick. If you have TOO much going on in your game, it can cause a memory drain and cause more crashes. This is from my personal experience with multiple app games.
Try to store some items you really do not need out in your town right now. Maybe from previous events. Then, also try to store items that are animated. Those are a big drain added to the lil kids running round too. Then if you have characters on task, try to keep as many as you possibly can indoors as outdoor tasks will also cause a drain. Outside that, it is also ensuring you have at LEAST 2gb of space open on your device to run the app and no other apps open in the background (like twitter, facebook, etc). If you do, close them all out before launching FGTQFS.

You need to clear out previous tasks to move on to new ones. Once in portal 3, there is some dialog from Joe. Then he triggers the Bomb tutorial and bomb 5. Then the challenge is triggered after that by Peter.

I’m happy they made the changes. We’re fortunate that TinyCo is actually cares about it’s players and not just the almighty dollar. I do really hope we get an expansion of land soon though. I really like to have my town look like an actual town, but am running out of room fast.

come on folks say thanks and start smoking them kids!!! the 200 would have still been possible with the 4 hour tasks and added character. i 150 should be very easy now. i’m bombing roughly 5 each time since they still are not spawning by the portal for me. that’s 30 bombs to complete it. 4-5 bombs every 4 hours and about 30 hours (or 7 x 4 hour cycles) left for most folks and that’s about 30 bombs coming in. if you can get them spawning and nab 10 each time like people are saying and this is silly simple to do.
i had 19 this morning and am now at 80. waiting for more bombs to come in but i’m pretty sure the 70 more kids i need will happen. i did not buy any bombs.

oh and fyi i finally saw the kids spawn and for me they are spawning on the sidewalks. so did the old 1 road square and maze from it and now should be nabbing the 15 at a time. hopefully i can keep the bombs supplied to take advantage of the feature. and hopefully this should bring in the vials cause i don’t know about anyone else i am VERY short on vials but have plenty of the jars of stuff.

The drop rate does suck! I had everyone doing it yesterday before the change and got 0, then I tried again after the change with everyone and got 0, tried again over night with everyone and I got 1 this morning!!! Definitely not going to finish this one unless I buy stink bombs!!!

*sigh* well! there I was, enjoying a nice little 3-day challenge that was actually “challenging” for once and of course the whiners came out and ruined it so that it was so easy I finished it last night. I think what we need is a Difficulty setting in this game… you know, for those of us who actually like competing for things we could choose the Hard setting and for those who like everything being handed to them, they could choose the Easy setting. Lots of games have this… who knows, it might work here too.

With these changes along with your awesome tips on rearranging/making a maze I went from 11 trick or treaters total (with a max hit of 3) to 78 trick or treaters (max hit of 11) in the last 10 hours. INCLUDING spending 7 of those sleeping. Didn’t buy a single premium character or a single stink bomb. With that much accomplished in such a short period of time I have no doubt I’ll wrap up the goal before my remaining 1 day and 9 hrs is up-all as a fremium player. I was one of the initial whiners but I have to give credit where it’s due. Tiny Co DOES listen to their players, and you girls sharing all your tips and tricks is the main thing keeping this game moving right along for me! Thank you both so much again for patiently putting up with the whines and encouraging us to contact Tiny Co. It worked! 🙂

Freakin loving this event!! Alien and predator are too sweet and big thanks to the addicts crew and tinyco for once again making adjustments around players reviews. I don’t know any other game that does that. Can’t wait to see what’s next. One thing though my kids are not coming out the portal any more just popping up I even sat and watched the counter to make sure, has this been happening to anyone else? Still greatness all the way around!

WIth so much to do i havnt been able to capitalised on the newly spawnd trick or treaters especiallywhen i havnt had many stink bombs, so when i do log back in even if there are some to spawn i miss them by the time i have cleared some tasks…
i have tried a couple of mazes around my town without distrubing too much, i think the Mininons were better as you didnt hav to destroy your town to have a chance with hitting a bunch at a time
before this update i had only hit 2 or 3 t a time it also didnt seem that there were alot of trick or treater sin my town, being level 4 int he event, level 50 and unlocked all areas i could barely count 20 but today is a lto better i have now hit 5/8 at a time on a few more bombs…
After 24 hours i had only hit 25 trick or treaters!…now i will see where i will be this time tomorrow with a day to go, it would of been nice to add an extra day or even 8 or 12 hourson the challenge for those who had characters on long tasks for bombs or bruce just being out the way….
my aim is to have 75 trick or treaters befor ei have a day to go, then i will feel better but while i am,still on about 35 after a day and a half i have some work to do and some luck needed
I still bloody have Meg to Unlock…Mayor west needs to clear dogs, need to unlock Joe now and Francis i accidently clicked his grave after it had finished repairing, which i had planned on leaving alone!! ah well i just need enough candy corn and i wont miss out ….
Very glad TIny CO listened to everyone, i sent them a msg in game and they replied very fast informing that an update was due and to check thier fbook page….This event has a lot to live up to so they are doing a great job so far, even beter if we all pass this latest challenge

I saw the words ‘predator………..12 free bombs’ and my tiny mind exploded. I flew into the game with a Tinyco…….TAKE MY MONEY!!!! Kinda attitude.
Then I came back here and saw I have to purchase the alien as part of a storyline to get the bombs. Dag nam it.

I actually set up, designed, and did special effects for several Haunted Houses. One main one in particular. Guess what the #1 requested items were for us to put in the Haunted Houses. Alien and Predator. To this day, still HUGE for Halloween. 😉

Hey girls, I have a question! I just bought the Alien and got 12 bombs as a Quest Reward. My wife is playing too, and desperately wants the Alien AND needs help with bombs to meet the challenge. But she doesn’t have the quest line that Lois started to buy the Alien.
Do you know what triggers the quest line? Do you know if she will get the bombs if she buys the Alien without the quest line being active?
Also, don’t you think the Alien should have Bruce’s voice like in the episode? “Stop. Not so fast ya’ll….” 😀

As far as a quest…if there are too many tasks open in the task menu, no more can pop up. Clear some out no matter how old they are and make room for some new ones. See if that helps.

Hmm, I know you say a walkthrough will be up later, but what triggers Lois’ quest? I am not seeing the asylum available to build in my menu at this time.
Very happy about the changes, although after figuring out strategies I did determine that I would be able to bomb the 200 in time. Clear some other tasks from your task menu. Too many tasks and there is no room for new ones to pop up.

I just got alien and Fransis but my character total still says 37 when it should be 40 has this happened to anyone else.

After placing the iron maiden the conversation between Joe and Glen came up. After it was finished I saw there was a quest for Lois. Before I could tap her icon the game crashed. (Which it has been doing after almost every event and cauldron brew and character purchase since this event started.) this time though when I came back into the game, I had to brew the iron maiden again. The quest for Joe was gone as was the quest for Lois. So I guess I will not be able to move forward in this event, unless something can be done with the game data. As well, last night after purchasing alien, I did not get the quest and bonus stink bombs. The game crashed as son as his egg was placed. Honestly this has been the worst event for me. Too many bugs and glitches.

If you have a lot of tasks left open and unfinished…it will stop any new ones from showing til you clear some. So you may have just cleared one out and now the new one can move on. 😉

Did they change the spawn location? I started making some decent progress last night with my maze (that cost a bunch of spirit vials) but this morning I loaded up the game and they all spawned all over the place. Not even just on roads, but in random green areas too, so it’s not like I can just cut the roads down to a minimum for coralling purposes. Now my maze is useless, they’re running all over the place again, and I spent those vials for nothing 😦 But on the bright side, I think with the new bomb tasks and lower target, I SHOULD be able to complete the challenge in the day I have remaining. So long as I’m not too unlucky with the bomb drop rate.
I bought Alien, but haven’t seen a questline yet. Do you happen to know if I’ll still get the smoke bombs (stink bombs?) if I’ve ALREADY purchased Predator (like when a quest begins for something you’ve already done and it autocompletes)?

Clear out some existing uncompleted tasks to leave room for new ones. That should help trigger ones you are missing.

I see that you get 12 stink bombs when getting alien as a part of the quest. I want to get him, but the quest line is not there. You said it would show up for everybody. Do you have any idea where it could be?

Clear some tasks from your task menu to see if that makes room for tasks waiting to show up. Also, make sure you have tasks from previous portal done.

Give them at least a few days to get to it first of all. No work on the weekends like most companies. If you get the autoreply…make sure you reply back you still have an issue and stay in the tech queue

Once again TinyCo show they listen to their players but sadly they are still being criticised. They’ve made the weekly challenge easier, but hopefully still a bit of a challenge as that’s part of the fun for me, watching that timer tick down as I try to complete the goal, my nerves on end, ha. But seriously though having had a brief look at the TinyCo Facebook page I wonder why they bother, the nastiness in the comments is diabolical. And if they are getting the same via the in game contact I wonder how long they will make it so easy for us to interact with them. After all the ease of contact is what stands them out from EA etc, I hope those who can be nothing but be negative and at times downright nasty don’t ruin this for the rest of us who enjoy being able to communicate feedback to the guys. And Bunny & Alissa I read a lot of moans from people about their comments sitting in moderation, after what I saw on the TinyCo Facebook I for one am very glad you moderate all comments as I’d hate to see this wonderful site full of the type of vile comments that are directed at TinyCo.
And once again thanks for spending your money so you can give us a heads up, I for one don’t start any new challenges, dig up graves etc until I see what you guys say. A few hours delay to starting things whilst you girls get your facts together has kept me right on this and previous events. Please don’t let all the negativity put you off as I and many others do appreciate the time, money and extra fun you bring to our games.

We set out to make sure those nasty comments we saw over there too do not make it on our site. There is no reason for it. This is a game. Games are for fun. If people are not having fun, they need to find something else to do that will bring them joy. No reason at all to be so viscous and cruel. Especially to those offering help.
We will keep doing what we can as long as we still enjoy it. When we stop enjoying it…the blogs will stop too. 🙂

Nice to see tinyco listens to it’s players.
Although a bit late. Only got 1.5 day to go for me, I play every hour/2hours aside from sleeping and I’m at 30 right now. Still doubt I will make it but we’ll see
