Well, we’ve all made it through another “work week” (kinda, sorta, almost) and the weekend looms large up ahead. All week we field your comments about your frustrations in the game (What I’m supposed to bomb little kid minions?!) and we wanted to give you (and us) a fun new way for you to voice your frustrations and get it all off of your chest.

WTH MINIONS!!!!! I bought 12 bombs not going to buy any more cos frankly I don’t think the ghostbusters car is worth more than 150 clams so if I get I get it if not then oh well. I still enjoy other aspects of the game.
WTH Floyd (my puppy) nearly 1 year old and he still has to spin round everytime he poops just to see what he has dropped. I mean it’s not my favourite job picking up poop but it’s even harder when it’s a circle of poos instead of one pile. So WTH Floyd!
I feel so much better now that I’ve told random internet people my WTH’s 🙂

Same wth as the vast majority, unattainable to hit 200 without $. After thinking how much $ I’ve spent I now see I’m an addict so for that success to you Tinyco but I won’t spend to buy bombs that only give me the chance to hit trick or treaters and realistically still miss the goal

Guys – PLEASE don’t reward TinyCo’s behavior by spending clams on stink bombs.
Just wait for them to update this challenge in some way to make it fair to freemium players, or accept not getting the Ecto Ghostmobile. I know it sucks, but blame TinyCo – don’t reward them.

Yep, I actually had a lot of fun tapping the minions during Comic Con and seeing how many I could trap in one area. It actually got quite intense rapidly tapping 10-15 minions to keep them in place. With this event, there is zero gameplay, it’s all “pay to win.” Or maybe I should say “pay to MAYBE win.”

What the hell? 3 days to bomb 200 kids with no quick way to get bombs other than clams and waiting 8 hrs. !!! So unfair no way I will get ecto1 now!!!

The trick or treaters are really annoying. With bombs dropping at such a slow rate, I doubt too many players will be able to Zuul’s Portal without resorting to buying more bombs. Also, I can’t seem to be able to funnel the trick or treaters into a bomb area. They just walk right through everything I put up.

Very very very annoyed at this latest challenge. Me like many others love this game and such a ridiculous challenge is an INSULT to loyal players! I think greed is certainly driving at the moment. Please please someone at tinyco act and sort out this challenge. I am at the moment disgusted with this game and I am a long time loyal fan!

Side note . . . I have a bucket load of coins and nothing to spend it on. . . Can’t we make some kind of system where you trade coins for clams? How about adding two plots of land for each event, as I’m sure I’m not the only one that is running out of space very rapidly, especially when lots of items appear at once! Thanks . . . I will stop now 😏😋😆

WHAT THE HELL. . . . . There are now MORE Clam buildings than there are buyable with coins!!! This is just ridiculous!!!! It be ok if we could earn clams by doing something in game but no.
As for the drop rates, they have become excessively wonky over the last little while, making completing tasks extremely difficult and NOT in a good way! If your asking to collect things like stink bombs or vials how about getting some characters to ACTUALLY DROP THEM!!!! And also while we’re on it more than 3 characters so maybe out of 7 characters you might actually drop 4 or 5 not One or Two!! Ridiculous !!!!!!!!!! Not fun, not enjoyable and not worth the effort.
Games are suposed to be interesting and enjoyable and challenging at times, not tedious, retarded and infuriating!!

Getting the impression that people aren’t liking the minions/trick or treaters!
Can’t stand them either myself, especially as this was what stopped me getting the final prize during the comic-con event too. Only thing I have done is to put a little maze from the pathway close to the portal and been able to get about 12 at a time (cheers for the tip in the post Bunny, I had deleted my roads thinking they would spawn there). On 50 at the moment and should be OK but only because I bought 12 bombs and can now top up with character tasks. I don’t think I would have been able to get rid of the ones wandering around the town otherwise. Still, WTH TinyCo, give the Freemium players a bit of a chance!!

Oh yeah, and TinyCo, WTH is going on with all the buildings!! Where do you expect us to put them all! Great that you are designing and releasing loads but I have no room if I want to design a nice looking area. Way too much, calm it down! Although I will say at least it means it is unlikely to have 2 towns the same!

WTH? Where are my friends? I’m connected with facebook and it keeps telling me I have friends to visit with that little exclamation point, but only Ollie shows in my multiverse. WTH?
Also Minions. Trick or treaters, whatever. Omfg. Really? Again? 200? 3 days? No bombs? Can’t stun? Can’t collect in one spot? Spent 700 clams on new box?! Have 10 bombs left and need over 100 for challenge?! Wth? That is all.

I sent a frustrated message to tinyco about this new challenge. I bought a $50 clam package the other day and this is not how I wanted to spend it. I suggested having the ghosts and the mansion drop bombs or something to make it easier to get. As it is without spending clams I got 3 bombs in 16hrs which bombed 10 thrick or treaters I mean what the hell. I wish I hadnt triggered the quest yet but I guess thats what I get for trusting my favorite moble game creators to give us a challenge that was possible. What the hell. I know its just a game and when I wasnt spending money on it I could care less but I started spending money because I wanted to support the game but if its not worth it then I will have to go back to being a freemium player which will be hard now that ive sorta gotten used to being premium. I know that the challenges are supposed to be hard but this one seems down right impossible. The challenges i feel should be the one thing that is always possible for freemium play because there is nothing challenging about spending clams. Bunny and alissa how do you feel about the new challenge? Do you think it’s realisticly doable without spending at least 200 clams?

Personally…I absolutely despise Minions. And I told them that last week. I just can’t stand them. That being said…I believe in trying it first before I complain. (although I complained about the aspect of minions..) So I’ve been playing and trying to get them as they come out, or in a big space. I’m nearing 100 cleared so far…so I do think it is doable. However, I did spend 50 clams on the Stewie box and won the Toy Factory, which always drops bombs every 6hrs…so I guess in a sense it’s not completely clam free. But it is less than 200 clams.

WTH TinyCo. Did they say anything in your meet and greet about changing their marketing strategy of the game. Seems the game is morphing into a free to download the app and pay to play game. Bombing 200 in 3 days for a freemium player is impossible I have dropped 6 bombs and got 8 trick or treaters. Quickly losing interest in this game as they seem want more and more of my money to play at an enjoyable level.

Very frustrating to get up this morning and earn some bombs and find only one. I’ve been able to earn everything the events have offered, but this 200 trick-or-treaters task isn’t possible. Hopefully TinyCo somehow fixes this.

Hello everyone and Happy Friday!! WooHoo!! Have to say that I’m enjoying the Halloween event, and while some tasks are more challenging than others, I really do appreciate TC trying to keep us glued to our devices with more and more interesting quests, items, etc.. Going to be tough to bomb 200 kids in 3 days, but wishing everyone the best in their efforts to get them!!
Anyway, my WTH for today is NOT Halloween related…..Are we still suppose to be looking for the lost plutonium or what? When I finished the current Mayor West quest I had expected another quest to launch or to actually find the lost plutonium. Neither happened. Realizing that TC is mainly focused on this event, (and there IS plenty to do), I was just curious if there had been any discussions about the plutonium quest line continuing or should I just get used to the Blimp being a permanent deco in the ocean?

WTH – how dumb am I? After all the stuff we have been through with other characters I see you can dig up Francis and go “ooh, cool” and realize as I’m pushing build that I should wait until you tell us what to do. Too late, but then I realized I could not click to complete, but I’ve almost done it 5 times this morning! Thankfully missed it and still waiting until I have everything – or I forget.
Also tried to bomb the five kids right away and used my bombs and only got 4. Thankfully that means the weekly challenge didn’t start and I can collect enough bombs before triggering.
You guys do so much to help, then I blindly stumble forward then decide I should see if it’s ok later. Sigh….
Thanks for all your help even when I’m not smart enough to wait for it!

I know this has been said already:
But the whole trick or treaters are a bit crazy. First, we can’t slow them down like we could the minions. Second, I can’t figure out how to get them to herd together, nothing stops them. Bought 50k worth of fence, nothing. Bushes that worked on minions, nothing…. Buildings… Nothing… Third, I have the glitch that not only does not list the number of bombs left, but I also know out of the 4 bombs acquired, only two actually showed up in the inventory to launch. Fourth, I feel like the trick or treaters are even harder to hit/ escape the mist than the minions did. Had 6-8 in the bubble one time and it counted 2. I don’t see this task possible for freemium players. To me, that is disappointing as we should be able to complete any of these special tasks without using cash. It’s almost as disappointing as Rupert not appearing my inventory when I acquired him during his special run and my game crashed. And yes, I have sent a message to tyco about this.

My problem is still the same: I need more land.
I love all the new content they’re releasing but it isn’t much good when I have to store half of my town to add anything new.
The 200 trick or treaters thing? I’m not gonna get too upset about that just yet! At the moment I have 58, so I think its doable! I did win the 6 stink bomb pack in the mystery box though (which I’d honestly rather win than most of the other prizes since THERE’S NO DAMN ROOM TO PUT ANYTHING).
Anyway, no real complaints, I love TinyCo and I love this game. I don’t love looking at the receipts for the hundreds of dollars I’ve spent, but that is my own doing 🙂

The thing that makes this so crappy though is that if you fail at this challenge then there’s just no chance getting the final prize.

Yeah. WTF with the minions. At least with the mini Stewie minions you could tap and get a few grouped together and get the reward for bombing 200 of them. Not the same with the tricker treaters they just keep moving. Not cool tiny co.

Why is Jake the only premium character to get a task that helps at all? I assumed wheni bought Jake and Consuela and buzz and Cleveland that they would have tasks to help players that chose to spend the money. They don’t. Wtf tinyco. Why just Jake?

I knew pretty much this entire What the Hell post would be about THOSE DAMN TRICK-R-TREATERS, 200 IN THREE DAYS? Make the bombs easier to get (the ghosts always dropping them maybe?). Make it so we can stop the little f-ers for a second or two by tapping them. By the time TinyCo does adjust something (if they do), for most people it’ll be too late to get this week’s challenge prize. Maybe a good way to make up for this would be to simply give this week’s prize to all players, that would add some fairness to the un-fairness of this challenge! How about it, TinyCo?

Unfortunately, they will pull out the “but people paid clams to speed the task, so it isn’t fair to them” chestnut for us to give away the item even though we put an unrealistic task challenge in the game (they did it with Diane when they didn’t let us know it was a timed unlock, but that GB Peter was needed in order to get her. They just put a tiny warning message on the unlock AFTER it was too late to stop for many people because it wasn’t fair to the people who spent clams to speed up to get her). They need to either make the bombs drop faster (or more than one at a time) and 100% and/or let us stun the little demons and witches. (I have had 10 bombs, but have less than 30 treaters popped and I have 2d4h left, so at this rate I will have less than half the needed buggers at the deadline).

FYI….just sent tiny co an in game msg in regards to their 200 minion task. I encourage everyone to do the same. The more msgs they get the more inclined they will be to make a change

Freemium has very little chance of getting 200 minions in 3 days. I’m already 15 hours in and I only have 8 bombed… 8 hour tasks to get one bomb is a bit unrealistic. Ghostbusters headquarters is way too tall, it blocks off the buildings behind it no matter where I place it, so awkward shaped. Over a million coins, nothing to spend them on. This event is super boring, not liking any of the decorations besides the buildings and skins, and don’t like how you have to brew it. The ratios for getting the supplies and how many you need is way off. Probably just gonna take it easy this event and not stress about getting everything since it’s not realistic for freemium players. Getting tired of having to collect a different currency each month, it makes it pointless to collect coins from buildings or send characters on tasks anymore. Ok, rant over.

i think it’s ridiculous that we have to wait 8 hours for each character to make a stink bomb. And the possibility to get a bomb is slim. It shouldn’t have to take 8 hours to make a bomb. This is what takes up the most time doing the quest. They should at least give us time to complete the Zuuls portal until next Thursday. I think everyone has see how tiny co plays out there game is unfair. Is there a site where we can voice our opinion??

The gameplay in this event is a retread of the comicon event with the annoying elements made even more annoying. Latchers are more disruptive and you can no longer control the irritating minions in any way. WTH?
My time is short this week, so I just want to buy Francis, but I can’t. I can only buy bombs to chase those insipid trick or treaters all over Quohog. Pass. WTH?
Finally, dear addicts, this one goes out to you. You are great, but your website now crashes all the time on my iPad 1 and the comments have always been largely unreadable because of formatting on my iPhone 5. WTH?

Wha the hell! I’m sick and tired that the very first comments on every single page are bitch-fests about how free players are not being treated fairly! If you enjoy the game so much, spend a few bucks on clams and stop whining about not getting your free “entitlements”! This is a product like anything else costs real money to develop! Regardless of what you may think of TinyCo, they are not in this just because they are Family Guy fans! It’s a money-making venture, people!!!
Consider yourselves lucky there even is a free version of this game!

I guess I see things a little differently. I see spending clams to accomplish challenges as a legal form of cheating. Spending clams just gives you a easy way to accomplish challenges. A challenge has be attainable as freemium by their very nature.

I completely agree with the OP and couldn’t, respectfully, disagree with Jon S. more. How one chooses to spend their clams is their prerogative. Given the randomized nature of drops and the variable as it relates to the amount of time each individual has to dedicate to the game (to attain items), there is a certain amount of luck/chance involved. Should one choose to pay to buy clams to speed up tasks, that’s a reward that is afforded to them. Premium players are allowed to circumvent chance because they paid to do so. It’s definitely not cheating by any means. They paid for the opportunity to gain a leg up.
Freemium players are owed nothing. There’s nothing wrong with not paying to play… at all. Period. But as a premium player who often pays to attain characters last minute, it drives me nuts to see freemium players rant and rave about ‘more time’ or ‘extensions.’ Everyone can buy clams should they choose. It’s an equal playing field in that sense. If one wants to remain freemium than they’re occasionally gonna miss out. The end.

And that money making venture is a “free to play” game. These games make huge amounts of money when compared to normal pay once games. So when people complain they are complaining that the game is “forcing” people to spend money to get game items, thus nullifying the “free” part of the game and not giving them, at least, a fair chance to obtain the items without paying for it. That is to say “is it possible to get the item within the time allotted without paying any money?”. If not, then the game is not being fair to the free players.
I feel this game is also unfair to the premium players in that many paid items are only good for a short window within the game. There are building that drop items needed, but once all the items are collected it stops being useful. Then there are characters that give event currency or items that once the event is over get nerfed to being just expensive minor characters wandering your town never to be of benefit again (short of being money and experience collectors).

Hey, I’ve spent over $250 on this game and I also think what they’re doing is crap and insulting to players. It’s not like I’m not pulling my weight supporting this game.
It’s frustrating even as a premium player the way they structure their pricing. Like changing items you and currencies you need every week, and releasing new buildings that serve no other purpose than to give you those items you need to complete tasks.
At least with The Simpsons game, when I spend money, it’s because I *want* to buy a nice building or character to add to my Springfield, and they are beautifully designed, and are all about The Simpsons. There’s none of that here – just this greedy pressuring you into buying things you need to complete set tasks within a reasonable amount of time.
As for “the game takes money to develop” – well, so do AAA console or PC games – and you get a hell of a lot more for your money. They cost like $60 to buy, and you get state-of-the-art graphics and production values, made by teams of hundreds of people.
For TQFS, I am spending a lot more money for something that’s a lot cheaper to develop, with half-assed art and gameplay. They can’t even get the buildings and decorations to match in terms of scale and look good together!

You know how Felicia Day says “Hey, this isn’t Fallout”? She’s referring to a pivotal character’s role which she voiced in the game “Fallout: New Vegas.” That game, and its very similar predecessor, Fallout 3, have become practically legendary, with homages and references to them in dozens of other games. They really are that good.
Right now on Steam, Fallout 3, with all add-on packs, is $20. Fallout: New Vegas is also $20. Each of them will give a player months and months of engaging, compelling gameplay.
Considering the vast amount of enjoyment a $20 game can provide, I don’t feel paying $20 (or more) for clams every month or two for a game that’s fun, but not half as fun as Fallout 3, is a good value. I agree TinyCo deserves some money, but as Felicia says, this game ain’t no Fallout.
Personally, I’ve spent money on clams, but not a lot. If TinyCo wants me to pay more than the price of Fallout, make a game that’s better than Fallout. A good start would be doing the basic math for a minion challenge in the first place rather than doing something arbitrary and waiting to see who complains. I’m very glad they responded to our complaints, but it could have avoided in the first place with a little forethought.

200 trick or treaters in 3 days.WTH?
Seriously guys how can you get more than 10 to 20 bombs? The tasks are 8 hours (one at 4 hour) and uncommon (I.e not guaranteed to get bombs). You also cannot tap the treaters like in the last event.
I think getting 50 would be challenging – Unless someone comes up with a good strategy for getting more than 2 with each bomb.
They should have given us this task Tuesday to Thursday, once we had a chance to stockpile bombs.

I’ve been doing okay with it, getting anywhere from 4 – 8 or so with each bomb. I’m finding it just takes a lot of patience, and you have to choose your shots VERY carefully. What I do is look closely at the corners of roads and try to drop a bomb about two seconds before the kids get to it, so as the cloud is expanding the kids are walking towards it. That way there’s more of a chance for it to reach the other trick or treaters.
Looking back on that it seems a bit confusing but it seems to work for me! I’m somewhere around 80 or so now.

I agree about the minions… The fact that I have only 5 characters (now that i have megs costume) that can earn bombs wouldnt be so bad if the tasks didnt take 8 HOURS to finish… WHAT THE HELL!

I’m not sure it’s even possible just from a numbers point of view. I’m only getting 6 trick or treaters every 3 hours. Even if I bomb every last one of them thats only 148 of them or so.

Okay, it’s been said before, but 200 trick or treaters in 3 days? What the hell? Maybe if the stink bombs were easier to get, but other than Brian and Meg, you have to send characters on 8 hour tasks to MAYBE get 1 bomb? Not to mention that Mort and Chris are 2 of the very few who could also be working on Ghostbuster Joe, so that has to take a back seat. I say they should make Gray Ghosts drop bombs sometimes; I know I appreciated the Blue-shirt nerds when they did that with them. I will not be happy if I miss out on the Ecto-1 because I just spent all of my clams on Cleveland, trying to prepare for next week.

200 is absolutely impossible for freemium players. Unless we spend clams. I was actually about to purchase consuela but after seeing this greed in how we need 200 t or t’rs in 3 days ( now 2 days 8 hours) I am putting my wallet away.

Oh those tiny, little Trick or Treaters: Where are they? Oh, there they are….all the way down in the very bottom right corner of my town, where the bombs can’t scroll down. Can I block them from going there? No…they are little creepers, nudging along the edge of the border. Seriously, they are all down there, hiding, waiting….what the hell.

Yeah, this 200 minions in three days things is not cool. Especially since you can’t tap on them and make them stop to hit larger groups. Maybe they should have a trap you can earn to bring them together, like a bowl of candy. You place it in your town and over time all the kiddies gravitate toward it. I could be something you earn as task for a one time use or for even a smaller-sized clam purchase a continuous use. What is really interesting is that TinyCo has been good about listening to feed back and, if I remember correctly, the minions got the lowest enjoyment rating in the polls. Why bring that style back instead of trying something new?

Very upset about the kids/stink bomb thing. No way in HELL the challenge can be met with out buying bombs. Not in 3days. 200 kids…the characters don’t produce enough to do it. I’ve alread dropped 100 bucks on prem stuff already just for this event. The price of prem stuff is getting to be too much. Tiny Co is getting a bit greedy with things. It makes me want to not bother anymore. ComiCon was awesome. But too intense…I hope Halloween is better.

Like everyone else… the blasted trick or treaters. 200 in 3 days is way too much. Maybe they’ll come to their senses and drop it to 100 in 3 days, or 200 in 6 days. At least that’s possible!

WTH Tinyco? I put a character on an 8 hour task to get stink bombs and they do not drop? That will help with this insanely short time frame.
WTH again Tinyco? Having the same characters required both to unlock GB Joe AND get Stink Bombs when I have a dozen useless characters standing around.
WTH EA? If you are going to do a weekend only special on Count Burns at least make it clear it is only for the weekend. I missed out because I was a wedding and did not have time to purchase donuts.
WTH boy? My son has managed to get into more trouble up to second grade than my wife and I got into in our entire time in school combined.
WTH Keyboard? Since when did “bombs” require 2 million “o”s? Time to rewrite my post.

He stood up on the bus several times and got a write home. Then we found out he slapped another kid upside the dead during morning work for singing the wrong song. That write up he hid from us and we found it a week later. Oh.

My What the Hell is: Today starts my all-day professional training series that I’m both excited and fearful of. And they’ve already assigned pre-first class homework and quizzes. What the Hell?!?! It’s been more than 10 years since I last did schoolwork, but the one thing I clearly recall how to do is procrastinate. If only Bunny and Alissa did a tips and tricks site for my training! 🙂

WHAT THE HELL!!!! This little trick-or-treater task of 200 in 3 days ensures that Freemium players will not be able to get the final prize. BOO!!!! There is no way to complete this challenge w/o spending clams. WHAT…. THE… HELL!!!! (I am not happy)

I’m with you….. It’s ridiculous and disappointing. There is absolutely zero chance of accomplishing this. For the first time since I started playing, I’m not even trying to hit this goal, because there’s no point!

The Trick or Treaters…200 seems nearly impossible. The minions were easy comparatively. If I lose out on the Zool portal decoration (and thus the bonus Ecto 1) it will seriously make me consider giving up on this event. Is FGQFS not making enough money that they have geared this event to force you to spend $$$?

Agreed, this is not possible I skip this price even as a premium player as the requirde items even do not drop after 8 hour tasks. Long tasks with low drop rate no way to finish this on time.

My only hope is that tiny co will listen to this feedback (I’ve in game messaged and posted on their wall) at least with minion Stewies you could tap freeze to get 5-7 together in a group…bombs are too hard to get from the character tasks to waste them on 1 or 2 at a try (I have really bad aim and need to remove some from town so I have a hope of ever seeing them in the portal- ) I think this might be the thing that drives me away (I’d been on the fence about putting more cash into the game and it’s not worth it to me to win the weekly challenge when doing so doesn’t change anything (ie it’s not like the weekly challenge items drop SV right?)
