So I was able to speak with TinyCo personally on this and get a confirmation. Something IS coming for you to use all those extra cookies on.
BE WARNED THOUGH!!! This will NOT be a 1:1 conversion, so don’t go in expecting it to be…because it will NOT.Â
What I CAN tell you is there will be something, maybe a mystery box type ??, that will allow you to use up some of those surplus Christmas Cookies you got. It will give you a boost to the New Year’s lil Event. It will NOT however complete it for you. In other words, don’t go in thinking a Million Cookies will complete it all in one shot for you. Because it won’t. You will still have to participate and play the game for New Year’s items.
That is the ONLY details being provided at this time. Anything more, you will have to wait until the lil New Year’s Fun drops to find out. We will post all the details then. 🙂
So make sure you pick up the extra items you want from the event like the Poinsettias’s, Snow Globes, Trains, etc as they will go with the event.

Goody! I’m glad and excited the cookies will assist in the New Years event! I achieved puppy Brian and achieved Jesus. I am normally a freemium player but I was determined to beat all the yetis so I had to use a few clams. I failed on a couple of the last events so I wanted to achieve everything on this one and I’m very pleased with myself. I can’t wait till the next event. So tired of reading all the post about how Jesus is impossible to obtain without clams. It is simply not true. You’ve had nearly 3 weeks to beat childish yeti 10 times.

As always thanks for the info. So glad all those cookies won’t go to waste. I was so close to just buying up whatever to spend them. I broke down and bought John early on and just got Jesus. Enjoyed the event but man the yeti was a pain.

John was a game changer for me. He made killing the Yeti all but academic up to and even including Top Hat. I was able to get Jesus after my second Top Hat kill, and that made them all a cakewalk. But I never would have had it that easy without the “beat up the sleeping Yeti” trick they posted here. Getting in an extra [char-1] attacks on top of the five per that reupping every four hours gets you makes a big difference.
The pain for me was–as always–bombing the minions, but even that got easier once they reinstituted a tap-stun…

Totally agree. My game went pretty much the same other than the fact that I’m a little slow and completely forgot about the tap-stun technique.

Hoping the New Years event starts right when this one goes away. I’d rather get to it and tomorrow is New Years eve after all. Good to know all those Santa haul cookies won’t go to waste. Ever since I got the last of the prizes a few days ago I haven’t really been trying much, so I don’t have too much of a haul beyond that…wonder how much it’ll help…

Yea, even with other issues, I’ve been able to get everything except Jesus – which would have been nice, but impossible to get enough snowflakes without using clams – and I’m unable to get more claims because I have 25+ presents to give neighbors (which may give me a few clams), but since I’m still unable to update my game (in Google store, says incompatible or something), I can’t visit any neighbors to give gifts (or get claims by doing stuff)
Any word on when they might fix that? I’ve already sent a message about 4 days ago, still haven’t heard anything. Kind of sad that I missed the chance to get Jesus because of technical issues not of my making. 😦

Those three by themselves will get you anywhere from 17 to 34 damage in a 24-hour period, with the results growing more likely around 25 or 26. That means that you will be able to kill even the Top Hat Yeti (24 HP) more often than not. 100 snowflakes is hardly impossible, in fact it’s not even that difficult. It would have been even easier before now, since the King Yeti, with his 35 HP, actually *is* impossible for those three to kill, meaning 32 hours is wasted (not to mention the time needed to kill the lesser Yetis) before you can start successfully working toward snowflakes again.
Very little in this game is truly “impossible” to do without buying clams, it just takes the right kind and amount of effort, and sometimes luck. Okay, maybe *often* luck, but even luck becomes less necessary the more effort you put in, thanks to the item drop curve…

Glad to hear we will get something for our cookies–I still have around 82k of them plus am still earning them on buildings and tasks…and that’s after my town looks like a crazy yard sale with random decorations everywhere that I bought to try to use them up.
Wish there was a way we could gift some of our leftover snowflakes and bells to other users if that isn’t going to convert to anything. I have a bunch of those and nothing to spend them on.

I feel so bad knowing that my gifts are likely the lame ones that no one could possibly be having a hard time acquiring. I have so many spare snowflake and wrapping paper stockings it’s silly. I actually quit trying to get more gifts and yeti stockings and reindeer stockings when I realized they were gonna be useless.

I unlocked Jesus within a week and a half and he’s never dropped any clams. I’ve put him on the water to clams tasks about 6-7 times now and never had him drop. So your not missing much.

Oh thank god. With Santa’s massive cookie haul he gives you I figured there had to be SOMETHING in the ether just waiting to be launched, but I was getting worried as we’re so close to the end… I figured there’s a chance I could get Jesus if I clammed it up like mad, but I’m extremely hesitant to do so. Hopefully it hits tomorrow morning/afternoon so I can see where I need to be with it.

This is for the New Years Event. It will come AFTER Christmas one ends tomorrow afternoon. I don’t know what day they’ll start the New Years one. But the two will DEFINITELY not overlap. So don’t wait expecting it to help. It won’t. It’s for a completely separate Event.

How does that make sense. If the Xmas event ends in NYE, then the New Years event starts after the new year? What is the point then. The way the pop up read have me the impression that the New Years event was rolling out on NYE in time to count down to 2015 with Brian and Jillian.

I’m kind of mad about the presents. I still don’t have the update that allows me to visit all of my friends. Although the rest of my gameplay has not been affected, so that is a plus. The problem is we used to always visit Ollie first, but it’s been seemingly random for the last couple weeks. So when I try to go, it says “You need to upgrade your game in order to visit this neighbor.” I keep checking the app store and it tells me, “Your device isn’t compatible with this version.” I’m playing on a Samsung Galaxy 3 tablet, not exactly ancient technology.
Now last night I guess the game randomly selected a non-updated friend to visit, so I was able to give away presents to at least a few people. Most however, I was not able to visit. Now I have 25 presents that I can’t give away. That means 25 chances at clams for both me and my friends are going to go to waste. I’m not up in arms since I wasn’t locked out for weeks or have any other major problems, but it’s kind of bummer. I sent TinyCo an in-game message, but received no response.

Looks like I will be working down to the very last minute to get Jesus (literally I’ve planned this and I should get Him with 10 minutes left in the event). Frustrating on my end but I can’t complain too much cause if it weren’t for this I would have nothing to do, all my other tasks are done. I know the amount of clams differ depending on how much life King Yeti had left when the timer runs out, but does anybody know if it’s at least less than 50 if his health was lower than 15?

Also If you have been playing the game since the beginning and earned every character, how many characters should you have, between regular characters and premium?

Between Facebook, Reddit, and other FGTQFS areas, I have never, ever witnessed more people complaining about to much content. It’s incredible. Most games (mobile, and otherwise) would KILL for as much content as TinyCo provides on such a timely basis.
Seriously hope they don’t slow down on the combination of Events and Districts.

Even though i started late i have managed to complete miracle with only 5 districts unlocked. All missions and characters 100% only spent £7 real money, now i await 11pm GMT for the new year event hopefully it dont spoil my partying

Good thing I read this first. I was about to go home and try to blow 140,000 cookies on Christmas decorations that would just end up in my inventory. I am not one to let my hard-earned event currency go to waste.

Did anyone else find baby Brain by far the hardest to get? I got Santa and Jesus no problem but found lil Brian really hard x

Really? As a 100% free player, I got Puppy Brian no problem, but found it very difficult to Jesus, and it looks like I will not be getting Him. I almost used clams for John or the Frosty B’s from the beginning, and it looks like I should have. Those snowflakes were harder to come by than free clams in this event. I even set timers for Lois/Joe/Mort to go off when they were done battling, but to no avail. Usually, they make it relatively reasonable for freemium players to do everything in the event for free, but it wasn’t the case this time. The King Yeti just couldn’t be beat with the Lois/Joe/Mort combo. Max you could get from them in a 24 hour period, is 36 hits. Since it’s literally not possible to get all 6 chances out of them exactly in 24 hours, the max would be 30, which is the exact number of hit points the King Yeti took. Also, getting that 30 would require Lois/Joe/Mort to get 2 hit points for each attack, which was also extremely unlikely. I’ve reached out to them about this and am awaiting response. I’ve had no trouble getting all the needed items to defeat the top ‘boss’ in each of the past events. I’m pretty disappointed about this for the Christmas event. I’m sure that sounded more complain-y than I wanted it to, but I’m pretty bummed I won’t be getting Jesus, and I can guarantee you I poured way more time into attempting to get snowflakes than the average person.

I’m freemium and I stru to get Jesus too, and failed. It was as you said impossible. I’m really bummed because I have always been able to beat the beast and always been able to get the characters but not Jesus, which funny in a way since this is the first time in my life I tried to get him haha.

I’m glad I’m not the only one! I hope they read the message I sent them and consider this for the future. I really loved the idea of “battling” a boss with hit points for a change. I wouldn’t mind this style again for another event, but they have to make it a little more accessible for us freemies.

What would be nice is to convert the cookies to snowflakes. Even if it’s 3000 cookies for 1. I have about 70 but unless I use about 300 clams to finish off King Yeti, it’s not happening

harumpf harumpf! Totally agreed. As much as I love this game, realizing the near impossibility of getting Jesus (sounds hilarious out of context) despite many 2 and 4am ‘tapping sessions’, I didnt manage to get enough snowflakes and its looking like its mathematically impossible now. 😦
Having said that, they did a great job this time around overall. I also really love that they listen to and react with their player/fanbase. (and thanks to you guys @addicts too!)

Alex, I did the same thing! I’m usually up until about 2 am EST, but would set an alarm to check the game anywhere between 4-6 am EST, just to get those snowflakes for Jesus. (Yes, the context is hilarious.) I started to realize last week it was mathematically impossible for me, but I kept trying in case I was wrong. Looks like I wasn’t, unfortunately. I hope they listen to us, as usual, and consider making everything a little more reachable next time.

It was a frustrating pain in the butt until they reinstated the tap-stun for the shoppers. Then it was just a matter of saving up enough Furbals that I could kill about 10-20 shoppers (mostly Nice, of course), then have 1 or 2 Furbals left over to kill them again as they respawned on my small patch of asphalt when I came back to the game four hours later. Then I picked up a new batch of Furbals, reassigned tasks to get some more in four hours, killed a few more Nice shoppers, rinse, and repeat. That ended up getting me anywhere from 3 to 6 Wrapping Paper every four hours, thanks to the crappy drop rate, but at least it was fairly consistent. Still a pain in the butt, but not so frustrating…

Hoping this means a shot at additional snowflakes. Like many in the freemium crowd, I’m close to the hundred, but won’t get there. Just about back to tophat, and I’ll be at 82. I play many times a day, just didn’t get Joe soon enough to help. The 24 hr cool down really hurt. A disappointing miss on Jesus might finally break the habit though, lol. Thank you Bunny and Alissa for all your help again throughout another event, you guys are awesome.

Can someone please explain how events bother some people? This is a game, events are what gives players stuff to do! People expect everything for free and to come so easy! I welcome back to back events, gives me something to do and work towards.

People who have not long started the game find it hard to progress and get the regular characters as they feel pressured to focus in event stuff as its time sensitive.
There is nothing wrong with a few weeks break between events.
If Christmas was every day would it still be special ? No ? It wouldn’t. Events should be just that. An ‘event’ having them back to back is a chore and can have the opposite effect and drive people away from the game. I know of 2 friends that have done this.

Is there a way that TinyCo can know that you’ve already killed the king yeti before the mission has been started.
I got the idea from yourselves about a kind of doubling up so that when once a yeti has been defeated, kep someone on them defeating them and then add more people. If you’ve got the clams, then cut the time down to defeat them but always leave one person on.
I have defeated the yeti king but should I (along with many others I presume)? miss out on getting the prize at the end of the hall? There seem to be other tasks that recognise this – i.e. Stewie goes to design a perfume factory, the factory can be built and has been – cologne bottles have been created (even before mayor west has been unlocked) and yet if you got the clams, you can beat any storyline….

Trying to figure out what you are getting at here?
If there is a task that needs to be completed, how is the game supposed to know it exists BEFORE it even exists? Is that what you are asking?
There is a HUGE difference when you are talking about a Material item (like a building, stocking, character….cologne bottles) that is something physical in the game that the game can actually “see” and recognize it is there. THAT is easy for the game to see and recognize as a “completion”.
Clams have nothing what so ever to do with it.

I think they are asking if you have beaten the yeti before the task is triggered. once the task is triggered will the game recognize that the payer has already defeated the yeti and reward the player with the prize of the task..

That is what I figured and answered. If you beat the Yeti BEFORE it triggers…the game has no way of knowing it happened. The actual task has to exist first. Now if you trigger it WHILE still attacking the Yeti…then Defeat it…that will recognize the task and defeat and count it. As the task exists BEFORE he was defeated and not AFTER

I can personally vouch for this being the case. The first time I beat the King Yeti, the “beat the King Yeti” quest hadn’t been unlocked because I was waiting for Quagmire to finish drinking at the Clam. While I was killing King Yeti the second time, Quagmire finished drinking and Peter unlocked the quest, then several hours later I beat him again and fulfilled the quest.

Grrrr……Im so mad. I have been playing like CRAZY and I will not be able to get Jesus. I am like 6 points from killing the Yeti that will give me 25….and I will be at 97. Those blue stockings or whatever are very hard to get being fermium. I was hoping they would let us buy some blue ones. 😦 I was able to get everything else but HIM. Makes me sad.

So there will not be another possibility to earn Snowflakes….ok, now i’m sure about this: this event is the worse than the kingdom event.
This is not only for jesus, but also for other reasons: First for not giving a possibility to kill the last two yeti to the freemiums; for all the quest you can not finish because Mort, Lois and Joe were always occupied; because for the future players Babs will be a PREMIUM character(she is not linked with a district); the decorations was not so good(maybe biased from the halloween event); the gift to give other players(I hate facebook, and now I’m obligated to use that for the decorations); this is not their first event(actually third in a row…tiring) so I thougt they had learned(The halloween event was 1000 times better than this).
However thank you Bunny an Alissa for your work and happy holiday to all the addicts.
P.S.This event almost convinced me to go to rehab

Good, because somehow I have 141,000+ cookies! Maybe the mansion? Idk. Was there a quest that gave a large amount of cookies? Anyway, I was going to buy some extra decos, but with the lack of land and the plethora of crap ALREADY in storage, I figured I’d pass. Does anyone know what happened to the festive arches?

What exactly are you trying to “catch up” to. There is honestly not much time left. KISS is just a matter of if you want to buy them or not. Angel Bruce and therefore the week 4 challenge and challenge grand prize would be very unlikely with out spending a lot of clams ending tasks. probably no time for the sleigh bell gift box with out buying Paul Stanley to help Babs fight reindeer, even then you would probably have to spend clams to speed tasks and wrapping if you wanted to finish wish list and get Santa. anything is possible with enough clams but without there isn’t much you can do. Sorry to hear you had to miss a week.

If you can afford it and won’t regret making the effort, the KISS members are a huge help. Gene kills Yetis as well as Jesus or John does, and Paul gives you another method of clearing Reindeer besides Babs until you can unlock Angel Bruce (which is a fairly easy unlock, comparatively).
Only downside (besides the cost of course) is that they’re unvoiced (so far, at least).
