Hey there Tribblemakers!
I know many of you that got the in game messaging responses in regards to an extension are patiently waiting news of just what will happen with the Event. For now, it is still showing as just 1 day (01D) left in the Menu. So, will there be an Extension?
After experiencing some issues over the weekend, many of you received a response similar to this one…
“While we don’t have any announcements yet, we’re looking into all options for how we can help players maximize the event in these last few days. This is especially true for players who got caught in the Enterprise crash bug: we want y’all to be able to finish the event as normal.
We don’t yet know what form that will take, but we expect to have an announcement before the end of the day ….”
First off, I wanted to say thank you to all that wrote in. As we try to encourage here… if you have a want, suggestion, or idea that you feel would benefit the players in the game… let them know. You may not always get a response to suggestions, but as you can see they ARE reading them and paying attention.
Now to the issue at hand, just WHAT is it TinyCo is going to do to help out the players?
Hailing on all frequencies! The Star Trek event has been extended by one week. The event will now end on May 7th at 3 PM PDT.
Thank you all for being such amazing players. We’re very proud of this event and hope this helps you experience as much of it as possible. Live Long and Prosper!
So there you have it. We all will have ANOTHER week of this Star Trek Event to be able to get those extra items you need and maybe the last of those Characters you have been wanting. Remember the Borg Bertram will still be your best supply of Dilithium Crystals and Dark Matter, so keep at the battles at the highest possible Boss you can.

Is it just me or has the green cube drop rate been lowered? I still need 28 of those things for decorations in the replicator but they are a pain to get now maybe 1 in 10 or 15 if I’m lucky.

Anybody tried the starfleet Rupert box yet? I spent about 8000 dilithium on it and got the shuttlecraft, the replicator, the teleporter, all the warp cores, two of the mystery planet statues, and an army of tribbles… Gonna go beat Bertram a few more times and try to get the rest.

I finished getting Joe skin today and now have all free items from this event. Now time to do those quests!
Hopefully we get a box like the Valentine’s event to spend my spare 10k+ crystals on!

I just got the following response from Tinyco:
“We realize that there are a number of players who have either completed the event or spent clams to progress. Though we are currently not offering compensation for currency spent prior to the extension, don’t worry – we’ve got some awesome new content coming your way. There are still adventures to be had!”

TinyCo sent me a response telling me that the latest update fixed all issues and the event has been extended 7 days. SO, yay! I’m back in the game – but I wrote to TinyCo to explain, that since I was locked out for 2 weeks, a 1 week extension will not allow me to complete the event – I was locked out soon after the start of Phase 5, so do the math – it is impossible to complete the event for me with only a 1 week extension. I explained to them that I would continue to play the event, but since it is physically and mathematically impossible to complete the event during the 1 week extension, I would not be spending any more money on this event since there was no point to it. The one week extension is great for those who were playing all along, but for those of us who lost time, it still does not put us on equal footing with the lucky ones who were playing all along!

Do we get to keep Borg Bertram as a decoration or as a charecter after the event? Id like to see Bertram in the game where he builds a time machine and we have quests to send stewie to stop him.

I unlocked Kirk before lunchtime today. I am so thrilled and proud of myself that I unlocked 100% of everybody even though I was struck by the Android Enterprise Crash Glitch.
After I go see Avengers 2 tomorrow, I plan on spending the next week, completing the remaining player missions and milking the incredibly awesome Borg cube teleporter missions for clams. I’m earning clams probably every three missions or so!
Loved seeing that the Gorn still shows up fighting Kirk even though I never won him in the mystery box. This game rocks!

I am so thankful for the extension. And thankful that I have an iPad, as we’re going on DAY SEVEN with my iPhone crash issue. Since I’m the only one on this blog it seems having this issue, I can only assume the issue is on my end. It will either solve itself AFTER the event, or if I reinstall my OS, which I don’t plan on doing since this is the only app I have problem with.
A few weeks ago, the Kool Aid Man quest restarted itself. No idea why. I just ignored it, since I clearly needed Chris for other tasks. I have never brought up this issue with TinyCo because I am one of those players who had their account flagged, even though I never downloaded anything. Heck, I still have the original clam special task from when the game was first launched (never had a timer) I just never felt the need to harass them about it.

Koolaid was put back in the game in Phase 6 so it triggered a questline. See phase 6 post for Info. 😉

I am excited to be able to finish the quest lines I’ve put off in order to get kirk and now I have just enough to get kirk and it crashes every time. Wtd!?! I’m ready to start his questline. Oh well, with another week at least I won’t miss out on him cause of so e bug from tinyco

I was ready on time, got all freemium characters. IT Was a good event! But the clams I Won from borg Cube I will never get. Must be a game error, wrote 4 times an in game message in the last 5 days, but they are not answering me. Their client service is not working, or what? 😦

Now I can finish the quest lines. I’m sending Klingon Chris for his and Gorgi for the ones he needs. Meanwhile I have Piccard, Guinnan and Talosian Stewie fighting the Cannon Borg for fun since I got Captain Kirk Monday night. I’m also sending Quagmire into the Borg Cube transport for clams. He’s been giving me 5 clams here and there. 😃 I hope there might be a new character thrown as a last event surprise item. I hope anyways!

Well I timed it so I could get Pike Joe today, which I did, and finish up some quest lines, but I guess I didn’t need too. Now I suppose I can shift my focus back on the fine art districts and onto the pawtucket brewery one (which I’ve only heard bad things about). It’s a bummer people were locked out for a week, but TinyCo sure knows how to make up for that (even though it wasn’t there fault.) Maybe this week we’ll get Wesley! He’s the only character from this generation of star trek I knew. In fact I only knew Spock, Kirk, Wesley, and that Uhura girl from all of Star Trek. Hmm…

Is it just me or did the Herbert costume disappear from the away missions? Now that I’ve gotten all the other characters/costumes/buildings I was going to work on getting him for this last week, but it looks like they got rid of him!

I hope TinyCo puts out word when there is no more new content like they did at the end of the Valentine’s event (Hot Meg = end of event). It will be nice to know when we can put a brakes on everything, especially now that there is an extension. I am happy I got everything there was to get without spending a single clam and with a day to spare but I would prefer not to keep grinding tasks for another week if there isn’t anything for which to collect. Good move to extend the event to assist the people who were shut out of their games; bad move to leave it dangling that there is more when actually there isn’t. Leave the choice to play the extension up to the player, but give them the information to make the choice as opposed to leave it uncertain. I timed all my play for the event to conclude at 3 PT today. I am fine if that is how it ends. But please let us know so we can plan accordingly.

Got Data today and was giving up on Kirk and Herbert. I feel like Herbert chances never increase, but at least now I can give him several valid 4-person-team chances.

I’m so happy. Data is the last character I need to get and hopefully I can get the rest of the items I need for him. He’s honestly the only Star Trek character I want more than anyone else since he’s always been my favorite anyway lol

Just got Kirk yesterday… Happy that others will be able to finish the quests and get all the characters, and excited for whatever “extra” goodies might be coming.
I have to say, I think this was their best event yet. Good characters and stories, fun tasks, and a whole new gameplay level. I just wish we could keep the Enterprise after spending so much time on it. Heck, it could even be a spinoff game as a separate app, I’d pay $2.99 for that! 😀

It’s new so we will have to see how it plays out. As it was explained to me, they’re gonna try to do this “seasonal” like changing out winter clothes for summer. Kinda cool idea Of a way to cycle Characters

I was planning on using my stored-up clams from this event to buy Brain-Damaged Horse and Buzz Killington, but with Buzz gone (at least for now) I can’t complete the set for the 100-clam bonus/refund. Did no-one think of that?

Much like many of the other Character Collections, there may be an odd one or two out that complete the collection but are no longer in the game. Like Human Rupert. He also was part of that Collection. Buzz has been available now for a complete year. So they are trying something new. Just wait and see what comes next with them 😉

I literally had all the quests going to complete within an hour of the original end time, so hahaha. My friend was borderline the edge of getting Kirk and was telling me how close he was getting even this morning if he did it just right. I guess he never saw the extension message.
Well at least this gives me an opportunity to enjoy more Borg-Cubing for Clams! Its like fishing I guess, you bait the hook with a delicious morsel, your choice of starfleet officer, and then you sit back, twiddle your thumbs, sing showtunes, stare vaguely at the sky and make random weather predicts. And then BAM you land a lunker, 5 clams, or maybe it was just tangled seaweed on the hook? Either way you rebait the hook and … ah just so relaxing!

Do your Borg Cube clams go immediately into your bank? I have been awarded the 5 clams on three separate occasions, and they have never been added to my account.

Make sure you’re up to date in the app market. They’re are seeing that as a main reason. Check that and contact them if still an issue

As far as I can tell, Yes they did! And I netted 55 clams so far. Another week? Thats a lot of potential! And now I can turn those 500 dilithium you can get directly into Tribbles (or computer controls) as I have all the other prizes!

Cool. I got all the characters I want but now I can do the quest lines. The writers put a lot of effort into funny comments and such and I was bummed I might have missed them!

Same for me! I finished collecting everything yesterday, but still have quite a few quests that went on the back burner to make sure I was able to get all the characters. Great to know I’ll still have the chance to finish those quests, just for the great dialogue!

I nearly gave up on the replicator items and pike joe. Just got kirk today. With this extension however. It looks like I can finish up with the other items. Thank you tinyco! You read my mind. Kirk’s first mission fighting that creature… Hilarious!!! Gone

It’s nice that they extended this, I’m sure it helps out a ton of people. However, it would be cool if they did something for people like me (and other that have posted here) that busted our butts and/or spent clams to get everything done in the original time frame.
Maybe there will be more items added? But if not how about the 100+ clams I spent getting everything complete by 4/30? I’m sitting on 100+ each of warp energy, phaser energy, and the rest and I have over 5k dilithium because there is no reason to use it. What am I supposed to do with all that? I guess my town is going to have a crap-load of space plants.

I posted similarly yesterday, which got deleted, that while I am happy for those who were locked out due to technical issues beyond their control, I am in the same position as you, and I am sure others. Tons of materials left and nothing left to spend them on, and lots of lost sleep and tons of clams spent to make sure the event was completed on time. I also foresee a very strange botanical garden overtaking my Quahog!

just realized the timing is awesome, this will end the day before our big comic con here…where i’ll be meeting Riker, Troi, Wesley and then the original Uhura and Checkov….its all about Trek. 😛 they also have Malcolm McDowell and they got him to appear in what they call the “Star Trek Generations Group Photo”…where you get to pose with everyone in one shot, minus Wil Wheaton for some reason, maybe he’s busy doing other con stuff that time!

Unrelated to current post, but….
I have a suggestion…
Is there any way Tiny Co would consider making it possible to exchange the coins earned for clams? I have about 3 million coins and would love to “trade them in” for clams if possible. Not enough cool stuff available in game to use all those coins. ???

Did you post the wrong link? I followed the Ask TinyMatt page quite closely at the time, and I just searched all 400-odd comments on that page and couldn’t find a single one addressing the possibility of exchanging coins for clams.

I wrote to TC asking if there was going to be anything else to do for those of us who have been done since last weekend. I’m not enthusiastic after their response, so I suppose I’ll just keep defeating Bertram and focus on leveling up characters who are not at max level yet.
I did ask, should they do a “Spend Your Dilithium” box, they add the Warp Core into it. That would be nice to have. Also asked for a small chance of 5 clams in said box, just to make it interesting. Their response made me think they didn’t get my meaning since they said something about “not compensating for spent clams.” Completely not what I asked, but hopefully someone will see it and take it into account.

I am betting that they added the “not compensating for spent clams” because they have been deluged by folks who spent unnecessary clams to complete the event on time, and would not have done so if they had known the event was going of be extended asking for partial refunds on those clams.

I was one the lucky ones who finished unlocking everything earlier in the week but I’m glad TinyCo are helping those who are still working on unlocking the final characters. My advice is keep battling Bertram. I personally will be spending the next 7 days on Planet Borg if anyone should need me.

I am currently at max warp core level, and I am trying to unlock Data, the costumes for Vulcan Quagmire and Talosian Stewie. My main problem would be the Dilithium crystals, I have all the items for Vulcan Quagmire and Talosian Stewie and half the items required for Data, but I only have around 1700 crystals in total at present. I have also yet to unlock Stewie in Quahog, which is why I can’t progress past Drill Master Bertram with only Geordie and Chris battling.
Would I have enough time to grind for crystals to get Picard which will help me in the Borg battles?
I would also like to find out from my fellow addicts, which planet missions and which combination of characters have given you the best drops of Dilithium crystals so far? I think that will be my best bet to accumulating dilithium crystals.

I think it’s great that TinyCo listens to the players on this site. Kudos Bunny. Good Luck getting the rest of the items in the event.

I’m posting here since it looks like TinyCo hasn’t done anything on social media since last year. I wanted to thank them for extending the Star Trek event, and this seems as good a place as any. I love the event, but I came to it late. Hopefully the extra week will let me get the rest of the characters I want, even if I have to dish out a few extra clams. Thanks!

No social? They have an entire Twitter account and Facebook associated with the game. Just be wary if you go to Facebook. It is a free for all there. Not a happy place to be at anytime. 😉

well this is cool for those behind on characters and such. i managed to get all the characters minus the Borg Consuela but i have no interest in her so its all good. now i’m just completing the final quests for stuff… (HA, i said the name of the game and i swear it wasnt intentional. lol) ..but anyway yeah, once i got Kirk monday, the quests became second thoughts…but now i can actually finish them up and not worry about people not always fighting Bertram. That said, if they aren’t needed elsewhere they ARE fghting Bertram non stop…just because i can. 😛

You ladies are awesome and I wouldn’t have gotten as far as I have without your tips. Keep up the good work! One question. Will there ever be a point where we beat Bertram for good? I’ve beaten him at least six or seven times in his highest level and am just wondering if he ever just dies for good so I can send some of the characters on missions that are adding up but I’m afraid to take them off battling Bertram to finish the missions. Usually we just keep battling on. I do not know if they will offer him as a Character or deco like the Yeti. I would suggest if you want him, make a request. They may not respond, but they do read them.

I got all the freemium stuff two days ago. So I don’t need the extension. BUT I’m really happy to finally play the quests. Everybody available was collecting stuff and no time for any quests for the whole event.
I’m getting used to put all the event decorations etc in the inventory for which I worked so hard (100% freemium completionist) right after the event, since there is no space left in my town. But having an event without the time to play the quest is disappointing.

Would have been JUST able to get Joe’s costume – the last thing I need – in time, but I’m glad of the extension so that I can get to see the questlines play out. They’re not adding anything else to do in that time, I take it?
I’m constantly using transporter energy just sending Quagmire to the Borg Cube for the chance of clams. I have two of each of the freemium rooms and one of each of the freemium buildings. Any advice what I should spend my excess Dilithium/Yellow/Green energy on? Should I save it just in case something pops up in the last week?

Agreed. I play tapped out, and I started on Quest for Stuff at the start of April, well into the Star Trek event. It is astounding to see many complain about an extension. I would have thought it would be a great opportunity to grind for clams through the borg cube, much like how collecting excess resources in tapped out earned premium currency.

Right, it’s not like the next event would have started today or even in May anyway. I’m happy Tinyco gave everyone an extra week, I had been waking up at 4am just to get dark matter for Kirk and still only got him this morning.

Welcome news but feel sorry for those that felt they needed to spend clams to finish it off. However, you’re not going to please everyone and so hopefully the decision was made that affected the majority.
It does put me in a bit of a quandary though. I think it should allow me to get Kirk now (have 60 dark matter and about 5000 crystals) but with the Borg and sending Peter, Lois and Quagmire on the Borg mission, it should give me enough. My dilemma is if I risk trying to get Picard to help with the higher Borg mission but it does mean I would have to start collecting again to get Kirk. Or do I just go for Kirk. I’ve only decided to spend clams on Spock and Khan as I’m not a huge fan of the show and so only have Chris, Stewie and Geordie on Borg duty. Any recommendations?

Here is the breakdown of just how far you can get with limited players….
I would say go for what will make YOU happy. If you do not care so much for these extra Characters, then focus on trying for Clams on the Borg Planet trips. If Picard seems pleasing to you, go for him. Then determine how much easier it is to get the Dark Matter and Dilithium. Then see if Kirk is worth it too. It will take more work with just the 3, then the 4 and you will want to keep them battling constantly.

Well I’m thinking of celebrating the extension by buying guinan I have saved 298 clams. I’m trying to decide between her Spock and waiting for buzz to come back. If I get her I’ll prob get kirk but I’m not an originals fan except for reboot movie. I like voyager the best then next gen, I’m actually glad voyager wasn’t incl as it means I’m not upset at not having everything. I like Spock quite a bit mostly because of the charitable donation I just wish he fought for dark matter then it would be a no brainier. Who do u guys think I should get?

If you do not care for Kirk, go for Spock. (Though there is a task with them both)
What would make you happy? 3 months from now, who would you have preferred to get? Would you wished you saved your Clams for something else?

Thank god for that – I’m only waiting to unlock Captain Kirk and worked out I would be up to 9K by the original end of the event (which would have annoyed me for unlocking Pike first and not believing that I could collect enough for Kirk). Now I have an extra week I should definitely be able to unlock Kirk and probably finish the questlines and other replicator items too – Thanks you TinyCo 😀
