A new update has hit our app stores for TQFS (on both iOS AND Android). So be sure to hit up your App store and check it out:
So what’s new?
Well FREE clams for one thing! Check out this screen grab I got this morning prior to the update:

Now it’s up to 92 clams!
What gives with the free clams? Well the answer to that lies in the FaceSpace.
That’s the next new thing with this update…FaceSpace has changed. Now the characters are grouped into well….Groups. And when you collect all of the Group you earn Clams! Here’s the new look:

Speaking of outfits…you notice new ones there for Peter and Lois? Looks like we’ll be getting new costumes for Peter (4 new ones) and Lois (1 new one) in the near future!
According to FaceSpace it also looks like we’ll be getting a new Mystery Guy in our games soon….the question mark is so suspenseful! Will Cleveland be making in appearance in our little Quahogs?! One can hope, right?
It also looks like we’ll be getting a new Premium Character as well. Any thoughts on who that might be?
This update ALSO fixes the dreaded Time Glitch many players are experiencing! So no more time issues for Players!
That being said…if you HAVE updated to the latest and greatest version and are STILL experiencing the Time Glitch please let us and TinyCo know RIGHT AWAY!

I’m not happy. I ended up with less clams after the update. I had spent about £150 on the game (my choice do no judging please) and had well over 1200 clams. I had every character, building and costume (except S&M Lois where I have not got a single rope for over 3 weeks & am beginning to think there must be a glitch). I should have got loads of extra clams. Instead, after the update I had 945 clams – a lot less than I had before. I’ve been kicked out of game a lot and won an epic item only to lose it after being kicked out. I have a character doing a 4 hr task between 4-6 times a day to earn the rope for over 3 weeks. The result, not a single rope. To buy 1 out of the 2 I need would cost me 250 clams! I’ve spent loads of money on this game, haven’t cheated like some of my friends (that is their business) and can’t believe I haven’t earned even 1 rope in that time. Is this a known glitch? I also sped up the character 8 times in a row (yes, dumb but at the end of my patience) and still no rope. Either it’s impossible without spending 250clams per rope (smacks of an EA tactic to get you spending) or I have a glitch. So far I’ve heard people have been credited with anything from 395 clams to 895 clams & all seem to say they get 55 extra clams every hour. I’ve reached my limit. I spent well over £140 on this game, yet unlike most I had clams removed with the update, I have not managed to get a rope for nearly 4 weeks now despite having the fire station & a 4hr task for Peter that I set him off doing 4, (normally 5 at the moment) times a day. How is this fair. I’m beginning to think spending real money gets you nowhere as there are too many on these forums saying they hadn’t spent a penny, got all the premium characters only after getting at least double the amount of clams needed for their purchase. I feel scammed, cheated and disappointed. I was rooting for this game, but this isn’t the first time I’ve lost money, characters & clams. It’s a constant issue. I’m looking to get a full refund and quit playing. When I lost an epic item due to being kicked out I got 10 clams compensation. I just wanted the item back as 10 clams wasn’t even close to how many it cost me to get it. I’m pleased loads of u got way more clams due to a glitch. One of my friends has now got over 2000 clams due to the update, and that’s after buying 2 premium characters with her free clams. She has never spent a penny on the game. I spend a large amount in 4 weeks and my reward, losing several hundred clams, not getting clams for my sets and I lost an epic item that I have not got a single one of in nearly 4 weeks. 10 clams got me no where. Have contacted TinyCo and without an answer soon I will be requesting a full refund from iTunes & will invest the money back into TSTO (never thought I’d say that). Up until now TCo have refunded me (but not the epic item) so I have been relatively happy. Now I just feel very very cheated! Has anyone else lost clams with this update? If so, is there a solution? Sorry for moaning but I’m getting very frustrated that I keep having problem after problem. For those that don’t, keep enjoying it. The game is good, with the exception of the low chance you gave to get epic items. Seems too similar to the wheels of misfortune etc EA added at Christmas 2013. TinyCo, not getting an item after playing every 4 hrs doing same task for nearly 4 weeks appears that you are banking on people paying. And I thought you were so generous…………..Not thinking that so much now. Please help people or I’ll just go back to TSTO & their new level due in the next week or so.

TinyCo is really your best resolve here. As they are the only ones that can see into your game and locate cause of issues or items missing. I wish I could offer more support, but we are not TinyCo and just don’t have that kind of access. I know they do not work weekends…just Mon-Fri…so make sure you give them appropriate work days to respond. Contact them today and keep me updated please if you do not hear back from them by the end of the week. I will keep an eye out in the meantime.

Thanks for your info Bunny. TinyCo did finally get in contact with me and gave me the clams I lost. More importantly, they realised my game thought I had the last whip as I earned it over 4 weeks ago but got kicked out. As a result they were very good and credited the last whip I had won and lost. They also credited me with my missing clams. TinyCo are, definitely, so far, better at refunding (& compensating) when things go wrong. Guessing that’s why TSTO gave everyone 20 free donuts because of the tech issues & their fear of this game being more honest, millions of times less greedy and I started playing TSTO the day of launch well over 2 yrs ago and had few problems until November 2013. Since then we were blessed with a new level over 5 weeks later than normal, subject to wheels of misfortune,that were great for some but impossible for others without spending real money. I’m hoping TinyCo don’t get greedy and think of their players. If u make things a limited chance to get during a VERY limited time event, they have to be possible to get without spending a fortune. So far it has not been hard for me, but others (like a lot of my real friends) may not have been so lucky. I am happy to spend money on a progressive game (spent nearly £200 on this game so far) but I won’t keep doing so if the odds are stacked against me or the items take more than a week to get. So far I am happy with TinyCo, but they need to change the epic & very rare item drop rate if they want to win top App of the year. I think TSTO have responded quickly to the Family Guy game. After all, they introduced 2 new levels in a few weeks along with 2 episode tie ins & another cool LISA skin as a new Friendship Point award. EA need to

I bought the Gay Pride Parade Float (it’s rainbow colors glow when you touch it and that’s about it) as soon as the update hit, and now I see it is locked. Must have been a glitch that let me get it early. There were a couple other items that were initially available, and now locked, such as Mount Petermore. It was/will be 125 clams, so I won’t be getting it anytime soon anyway.
Looks like we’re getting an Asiantown district! Lots of items relating to that and it looks like Tricia will bethe next character to unlock. Should be some fun quest lines and I hope we get this as a district expansion since I’ve used up all of the land so far available.

Yea some items may have initially been unlocked but they should be locked until District 7 opens up. Which is the next district we’re getting, will include Connie & Trisha

Ok so I unlocked brian a couple days he was required to do 3 things and I havwnt had an exclamation point over any character for over a day whats going on? Am I at that point where there is no current content or did my game screw up

Have you checked out the Civic Center Walkthrough? Are you sure a required character is free?

I’m convinced that headband drops required for Rambo Lois is bugged. The darn thing never drops. Never….except RIGHT after the recent Android upgrade it dropped like twice in a row. Since then….it’s back to never dropping. I’m convinced TinyCo is adjusting drop rates on the fly.

Oh if only it could be that simple to “adjust” a program code. It’d make glitch fixes so much quicker. Lol. 😉
They’re random to begin with so the drop rate will be low.

I’ve been trying for weeks to get the last headband. Beginning to wonder if it’s not working.

I hear you. I’ve had a similar problem. Tried to get 4 ropes for Lois S&M costume. Yes it’s an epic item, but I got 1st 2 in a week from the Fire Station. Since then, I haven’t got a single one despite me sending Peter off on his 4 hr Hooker task (where he has a chance of getting it) 4-5 times a day for nearly 4 weeks. I’ve not had anything and have contacted TinyCo to see if there is a glitch. My friend has also not got a single epic item for the last 3+ weeks so there must be a glitch. Contact them in game & get them to check there is no glitch. I got that headband but it took 3 weeks total. If you have tried longer, it could be a glitch they don’t know about. I had trouble getting shells for Consuela as well and after 2 weeks I got it, then got kicked out of the game and lost it. Now that was not cool. I got a few free clams as a sorry, but it cost me 16-18 more to speed it up & finally get it. I’ve sped up getting this rope more than 20 times and not got it once in those times. Either I have a glitch or the epic items are too hard to get. If so, I’m stopping playing as I love a challenge, but not something I spend 3/4 weeks trying to get 1 out of 4 items only to get nothing. Contact TinyCo. It can’t be this hard to get – otherwise most will give up bothering, just like TSTO’s Easter Event! Would be a shame for this game not to move on. Good luck.

There WAS an issue with some of the items, however the most recent updates should have resolved them. Keep and eye out over next week and see if the drop rates are better. If not, please let us know. Epic does mean extreme difficulty to get. I am working on getting more stats on them all. Hang in there.

I think I spy Peter’s ‘falcon’ Xerxes in the costume section for Peter. I’m excited to see what tasks they have – also extremely hopeful that it involves riding a motorbike with a sidecar!
Also, possibly Lois’ mid-life crisis hair?
Now I just desperately need Brian’s banana costume (It’s peanut butter jelly time!)

I just updated and only got 5 clams even though i completed both the gals and the quagmire character sets, i cant see under the ticks how many i was meant to get for them but as pictures show above the sane two plus 3 guys one dog (which shows as 25 clams on mine) gave 55 clams, think ive been shorthanded!

I like this update. Besides getting free clams, I am getting nostalgic while recognizing what the new costumes are. Cannot wait til those are out.

I got an date of the liberty statue foot and something that looks like the jurrasic park and the car also got the news station mayor all loads of cool stuff how do I upload pics 😉

Sorry if I’m off topic but…when I try to open the app the game crashes or goes to a FAQ section. I cannot access my town since the game always crashes. I updated already to the latest version but…no way. Any help? Thanks!

If the basic troubleshooting isn’t helping, I would say contact TinyCo for further help so they can see what’s going on in your game. Don’t forget to include your ID you log into the game with and as much description of the issue you’re having and when it started. They’re great at helping.

Only enough to give me ~50 clams. I’ve gained over 700 since the update. My thoughts are achievements give clams as my clams have been increasing in increments of 55 usually after an achievement. My game may just be glitched though

I know initially after the update they had some issues with the clam number, it might be that yours hasn’t been corrected yet.

Damn that’s crazy, I think you may just be lucky because I have everything available in the game outside of the 3 obnoxiously expensive premium characters and almost all of the achievements and I ended up with like 60 extra clams.

I ended up getting 869 extra clams for free. It continued to go up every hour or so by 55. It stopped going up after I putchased all the premium characters

Its stopped since I got the ios update… in the end I think I figured it out. Whenever I used my unupdated ios game and switched to my updated android I got 55 clams (the amount I got from completing facespace sets)

I just got over 100 clams for supposedly no reason, only thing I can think of is that I might have got some achievements but I dont think they count towards clams right? Does anyone know how I could have got 100 clams?

It’s not in the game yet. It hadn’t officially been released. It’ll unlock with a future update.

The amount of money awarded for jobs needs to be adjusted, takes forever just to save up for basic things.

As far as I know the friends option has not changed with this update. Just some minor lifts to FaceSpace and the Time Glitch repair. 🙂

I hope we get more land & water. I have all the blocks now and need more room…I’m fixing to be on level 29. I’ve reached this without speeding up or spending clams or money. The only thing that I have bought is two workers, the brain damaged horse, coffee house. I like one more item & I will have all the costumes.

They need to make the next premium character cheaper. I would buy every premium character they made if they were as cheap as Jake, the 50-80 clam range is way more reasonable.

Were clams for completing sets awarded retroactively? My clam count has increased significantly.

Yes. Most that were already completed with the sets had them added as soon as the update hit. (A few glitched and awarded more than completed sets for those close to completion.) Just look at what you have done and add up those totals. That should tell you what amount you should at least have added to your game.

Hardly seems fair that iOS users won’t get the free clams until AFTER this weekend’s reduced worker prices. They should have at least timed it so all users could take maximum advantage of the promotion… Bad TinyCo.

Looks like Tom Tucker has been appeared under The Newsroom category. I don’t think I’d seen him outside of the Facespace header before so that’s nice.
Hoping we’ll get to see Stewie soon. The one character I really want to unlock at this point.

Yup Tom will be a new character added. At one point they had the news station in the game, but pulled it back. (I think it was during BETA, BRIEFLY)
I’m not sure about Stewie. I think Tricia and Connie will be the next two unlocked, Stewie and Carter will come after that. If you notice their buildings are the hospital at this point. Basically just place holders for what’s to come. 🙂

Question marks are just that…questions. They’re meant to keep us guessing until the characters are ready.
As far as Connie Tricia, Stewie and Carter (and Mayor West too!)…they’re not officially in the game just yet. They’ll unlock with future updates. It’s more just to show you what’s coming soon 🙂

No new content was officially added just yet. Everything you see with the new update is just place holders for what’s to come. 🙂

That is an odd one. Do you mean you can’t get into ANY items at all? If so, try some basic troubleshooting, but I may suggest to contact TinyCo. All the information can be found in your menu within your game. We want to keep an eye out for anything else that arises.
If you are just trying to see something not yet available as a black box…that can be normal.

It’s the gold suit Peter, I don’t know why we don’t have him available on droid yet, but the little golden pool popped up recently with a lock on it too so hopefully they’ll be added soon.
