Well, we’ve all made it through another “work week” (kinda, sorta, almost) and the weekend looms large up ahead. All week we field your comments about your frustrations in the game (I gotta unlock TWO costumes to get Stewie?! REALLY?!) and we wanted to give you (and us) a fun new way for you to voice your frustrations and get it all off of your chest. So welcome to What the Hell?!
-Getting REALLY annoyed that you haven’t unlocked Stewie yet?
-Game crash right as you collected that last Meat Chunk and then it disappeared?

Here’s my What the Hell?! For this week:
-$25,000 to unlock Carter, really? The buildings in this district are already crazy high, compared to other districts, and NOW you want to take an ADDITIONAL $25k from me? What the hell?!
-So I can deal with all the crazy items dropping for Stewie, Falconer Peter & PB&J Brian. I’m doing ok with items dropping..at least something is dropping in every group. Every group except for the FREAKING LEATHER GLOVE! I send Joe to Do Target Practice over and over and OVER…and no Goves..WHAT THE HELL?!
-And finally…to the barista at Starbucks that likes to drip caramel all down the sides of the outside of my Venti Caramel Macchiato. What the hell?! Dude…just stop squeezing the caramel BEFORE you pull it off the cup. Seriously…the sticky caramel on the side of the cup is getting old. (I know I know…#firstworldproblems)

I almost have the PB&J costume for Brian and I believe with this last update, it making the rare items even hard to get. I was getting the PB&J sandwich every several hours, I just need 1 more and now all 3 characters don’t produce it anymore after a few tries. I was getting annoyed, so I already made Bruce and Chris to start collecting giraffes for me and Meg she has no life, hopefully she can collect that last PB&J sandwich for me.

Why the hell did I waste my time getting Tricia Takanawa she literally has 4 tasks not one is ever involved in a drop of any kind. She is the most useless character in the game by far.

There’s been another late Friday night update to the game. It revolves around needing to collect toys so that Stewie can have a toy party. I’ll leave it at that, so I don’t spoil too much….

My wth is I’m already unlocking 2 characters and 2 outfits then it goes and adds rupert this morning ?!??!? Worst part is only buildings for guaranteed items for the party to get him are premium ? Helppp! Also thanks for all the info you add on here always helpful

Seems like we can now go past level 40. I started collecting just after midnight (North burbs of Chicago) and I got a level up prompt from Ollie. Jumped all the way to level 45 and my progress bar is almost full to level up to 46. Glad the XP isn’t going to waste.

I just logged in and the game leveled me up to level 44, approaching level 45. The game kept track of the XP points I accumulated from level 40. No need to hold off from collecting those achievements, not that I did.
You also need to start collecting toys for Stewie.

It takes several characters and steps to complete. You may have just not unlocked the next person needed. For instance, you have to have Stewie to unlock part of it.

I like the geeks. especially when one stops by tricia reporting the news cuz it looks like they are using their wand to throw a car at her. What bothers me about the geeks is that they dont have any speach bubbles that pop up like the lost boys and pirates did. They could be saying some funny stuff. What the hell is up with that.

Well, drop rates do seem to be ify (iffy?) – but WTH, I’m seeing folks have unlocked Carter, Falconer Peter, one or both new costumes. I’ve unlocked nothing…what am I doing wrong? Bad luck, poor strategy, born under a bad sign?

Lol…some literally play around the clock using timers, some use a few clams to speed up tasks or to unlock the characters when the amount gets low enough. You’re doing just fine. I’m close, but haven’t unlocked either the 2 new outfits or Stewie or Carter yet, also. Not a race, just enjoy the ride. It works for me. 😉

You are doing nothing wrong!!! I’m one of the ’round-the-clock timer users’ and I only have Falconer Peter unlocked.
To an extent, there is some strategy involved, but mostly luck!!
For example, if you have 1-2 gloves left, make Lois go for plutonium or baseball bats. The last thing you want is your final glove to pop out and you JUST saddled skank Lois back up on the bronco!

WTH!! after six weeks or so of Friday updates that have brought new goodies and tasks I know I shouldn’t expect one tonight…but will curse them just the same if they don’t lol Wth!!! Tricia Takanawa isn’t involved in any of the new costumes or characters and has next to no tasks to do…after several weeks of utter disappointment trying to collect she only has 3 to choose from (and a future task) …because of it I have been punishing her with a car to the face repeatedly for the past two weeks. WTH!! you give me Cleveland’s House and no new task that allows Peter to poop in it!! WTH!! Why do almost all the characters live in the Griffen House….It’s not like Peter is pooping in the Cleveland House!!!

You know what gets me on the side? Cleveland’s house on the show is across the street but it’s not possible to put Cleveland’s house in the game correctly. Plus no guys group action! Come on! No no no no….

Okay, I’ve read the comments on how they gave us a big update because people had no tasks left to do, and I’ve even calmed down about the outrageous number of items to collect, but my big WTH is the drop rates of these items!! Blueprints are supposedly ‘common’, but each task takes 12-20 hours and I’ve had each character do those actions 4 times (so 12 chances at blueprints) but none drop! Also happening with falconer peter items and pb&j brian. Oh and I’ve been lucky enough to actually get all the items for carter, BUT 25000 DOLLARS AS WELL?!

I hear that South Park: The Stick Of Truth is an awesome game. One of my what the hells – why is there NOT a South Park: The Quest For Stuff game on our mobile devices?! Can you imagine the insanity that game would have? Bring it on, Cartman! “I’m not fat, I’m big boned!” My second what the hell is that my fancy magma shrine (the small one) lies to me when I tap it: “collecting butts” is what it tells me. I can only get coins from it. What the hell?! If I can figure out how to virtually kick that golden butt in its butt instead of tapping it (LOL), maybe that would teach it to not be a fibber. That’s all for now…

My WTH is that the game all of a sudden will not open. It says I have to upgrade but there is no update available. I’ve even removed it from my iPad and redownloaded it to no avail. It was fine this morning now I can’t play. WTH!

So, you know what really grinds my gears? Updating the app and the having Consuela standing there on start-up telling me to update my app.
I’m shut out of the game till they fix the iphone version. thanks tinyco, I didn’t really want to harvest my coins or see if any new items dropped. I’ll just sit back and relax while my buddies race ahead of me and proclaim ‘victory is mine!’ when they unlock stewie.
And yes, I did all the normal fixes, nothing worked. Guess I better go hit facebook and see whats up…

I try to load the game and it tells me an update is required before I can play. Ok, I go to my update screen and it says no update available. WHAT THE HELL !!

WTH??? My game has suddenly (last checked it 1 hour ago) decided to not let me in. A character pops up telling me there’s an update available and I need to upgrade to play. I go to the App Store and I’m playing the latest upgrade! 1.0.15! I’ve never had this problem. I’ll even open the game through the App Store and the pop-up still occurs. WTH???

So Cleveland enters town with the museum and gets his house at the end of the event yet he doesn’t go to either place. What the hell, man! How about stop going to Quagmire’s and the Griffin house so much and take a bath in your own house!?
Seriously though, a great animation for him in his house would have to be the house wrecking and him sliding out in the bathtub.

I feel your pain. I had 13 Jewels for Stewie. As soon as I cleared the Jewels for Carter they all disappered for Stewie. I contacted TinyCo about this several days ago but I have not heard back from them. Now I am stuck starting all over. Ahhhhhh!

Okay, I don’t know how I managed to do this but I don’t know where my high school went. I’ve checked the inventory and tried to re buy it, but it doesn’t show up in either place. Any of you guys know what happened?

Try a hard close, then shut your device off completely to clear the memory cache. Then fire everything back up. If this doesn’t work, the next step is an uninstall/reinstall (make sure your game has an email account set up, or Facebook/Google linked account). If this does nothing, send an in-game message to TinyCo (main menu/help & support/contact us). This will open a “ticket” and dialog between you and the tech rep. Give them as much information as possible.i.e device used, description of problem, when it started..etc. Good luck. Let us know the status. 😉

My “What the hell!??!” is everyone is completely and totally upset about the game in general.
I personally think that everything to get Stewie is a little crazy but that happens in most games, the higher the level you are the more challenging it becomes, so I respect that aspect (even if I don’t like it ;]).
When the July 4th event came up and I saw those beautiful prizes boxes that I could buy with coins, I couldn’t control myself. I had over 150,000 coins saved up (from finishing the quest line before the new districts). Needless to say they were almost all gone. I was upset with myself but I got over it and in the excitement of the new district. As much as it is a pain in the ass to have to get so many things for Stewie, it is giving me chance to get A TON of coins. So when it is time to get Carter I wont be flat broke and I can get the little items that are new.
Once again, all the stuff for Stewie is a bit crazy but I feel like Tinyco wanted to keep us as busy as possible for as long as possible (and to make more money of course). We all freaked out when we had no quests to work on and many people were lashing out a bit too harshly….I mean what the hell, its a game for your phone/tablet. Yes I consider myself addicted to it but I don’t get so upset I want to cuss the entire world out! They are obviously working on things for District 9 and probably a new advent in the future. I’ve been reading rumors and “spoilers” about it so who knows what is next.
So what the hell people it’s a game! Games are meant to be enjoyed, so stop yelling and ENJOY the game! 🙂

2 for me:
1) PepBoys looked at my car for a leak because I saw a puddle forming my car in the garage & said everything was fine probably the air conditioner condensation. Less than a week later my car was bone dry of water & coolant & dead on a hill! Looks like it will cost me $700+ (at my parents’ neighborhood mechanic instead) IF I’m lucky! assuming I don’t need a whole engine after going up hill with no water in summer. Oh, why doesn’t my car have a water level gage….? thanks for catching that leak Boys >:-S
2) I haven’t been able to access the game since 4th of July left. I thought removing things from the game is supposed to make things easier to open, not harder! restart, reboot, rebuilding, resyncing, deleting other files from my iPod… nothing works… except TSTO & Tiny Tower (candy crush is giving me the same issues too). Glad I didn’t spend real money (just freebie swagbucks gift cards) in the game but I would LIKE to play!!!!! darn old device… & I can’t buy a new one with the darn CAR ISSUE!

My what the hell moment is trying to check how much each of my player has left on there tasks. I wish there was a place that would tell me where they are and the time left. Like Facespace or a building. It would help. But thats just me.

Come on Quagmire has 2 different tasks, Lois has 2 tasks including trying with Joe to get the stupid gloves, Peter has several tasks, and tne ammount of blueprints is ridiculess, come on get the premium charictures doing nothing to help, and on top of all this it is flaming too hot here in the UK, making my normaly wonderful lady grouchy so I suffer WTH

Surprisingly gloves were not the issue for me. Right after i read your update about the drops i hit 4 gloves in a row. I am sitting on 8/10 leather pouches and cant get mort or Herbert to drop them…3rd straight task each and nothing! Thats all i need for falconeer Peter. Sandwiches have dried up too it seems. It will balance out in the end i hope!

I know this is WTH, but here’s a tip for all of you struggling to get rare items. Don’t keep sending your character on the same task. Break it up as I’ve always found I get the item a lot more than just sending the character to do the same item task over and over. Hope this helps.

That does seem to work. I haven’t gotten anything to drop from Joe so I’ve just started rotating in his 1 minute wheelchair tricks task and we’ll see how that goes 🙂

What the hell is up with Ollieland (for andriod atleast)?
Tinyco is passing up on a golden (clam) opportunity!!! Ollietown just throws shiny stuff directly into your face and eyes and mouth. To me, Ollietown needs to be what people strive for. An awesome, clean, not cluttered town with the updated roster of characters; constantly rotating and changing costumes as they become available etc.
District 7 on android is still just sitting around on fire. As for decorations, of course you want to display the premium, animated items. But make it make sense in this ‘perfect town’ instead of just slamming down 10 evil monkey statues and 9 golden hot-tubs.
I think it would be cool and very beneficial if you had someone updating it giving it a clean synergy. Especially with hilarious animations like Carter’s cash angel. You are going to push some peoples patience over the edge when they see Stewie shooting a cutout of Lois when they visit Ollietown.
Even one thrifty person spending 5 bucks to rush those last few items for Falconer Peter would be a victory, considering that currently Ollietown is just a chance at a clam for most people.
Either way, currently, Ollietown is outdated and clearly a template they just ‘reset’ after the full moon event. I can’t imagine it would be difficult to get an employee to PLAY the game. Hell, I’ll log in myself for 10,000 coins a week. When I visit my friends (they are strangers), I can tell what costume/character they are working on by the tasks. Ollietown should be the tasks and actions that I’m working TOWARDS.
Giving heavier doses of digital motivation via Ollietown stimuli would result in a higher consistent income and an even bigger customer pool! More people pulling their phone out more often catches more public eyes and that is the ultimate advertising “Hey man is that Family Guy?”. Almost too easy 😉
Also, I’m really getting frustrated with people dropping 1000+ clams on speed unlocks then intentionally wording posts to deceive this blog’s readers into thinking they have ‘unlocked’ said costume/character. You ‘bought’ them. Don’t avoid the distinction to cause friction.
I’ve made it clear before, buying clams and spending them is absolutely a play style and nobody should be forced into a play style THEY don’t enjoy.
I am not attacking premium players BY ANY MEANS.
What I am referring to is the intentional misleading.
I may be a bit sensitive towards the internet in this case, but I really like this blog and it’s readers. I can’t be the only who gets a tad frustrated by:
July 15: Just got my first plutonium and 2 blueprints! Stewie here I come!!
July 17: Phew, finally unlocked every character. Those gloves are a pain in the butt!

As a frequent clammer,
If I spend $50 of my hard-earned money in order to speed up item-dropping tasks or outright buy the character, I have more than deserved the right to say I have “unlocked” it.
I believe that a game or service offered for free that proves to be an enjoyable experience warrants recognition.
FGG is a free game without advertisements, one that anybody reading this obviously really likes. It’s true to its Family Guy inspiration and fills a chunk of our day, be it large or small, with joy. I believe TinyCo succeeded, and deserves to actually profit off this success. With large profit margins comes expansion, meaning a likely 2nd or 3rd success.
Although I try to be understanding to those unable to give back to the creators, I have a mild distaste for “freemium” players.
I must admit I manage a business dealing in sales, so I might be biased.

You are absolutley correct, but you can’t pretend you don’t what I’m referring to as ‘intentionally misleading’.
I’m just saying this site has a TON of viewers (maybe even a literal tonne) and there are alot of frustrations with drop rates, whether hostile or good-spirited.
Not everyone can see through the bologna and you could very easily overwhelm someone into quitting a game like this. Those people are the intended victims of this kind of behavior.
Yes, people like that exist by the truckloads on the internet.
I’m really just looking out for the blog’s integrity (whether it’s my place or not). It’s not ridiculous to think that somebody out there could have the fun of the game ruined by these types of things happening.

I have to say I do enjoy your comments. They do speak volumes. I have a bit more advantage on this side seeing it from so many different views than just the basic readers, so I am lucky to see a lil more insight than others. I may not respond, but I see.
So here is my take on it all…and please, I am not saying ANY of it with harsh, mean, or hateful intention. Just dialog and discussion constructively, so please take it as such. Grab a snack, this one is a “lil” long. 😉
I see the word “unlock” as just that…just a word. No matter if you pay clams or not, you still are technically “unlocking” said character…in the technical term of it.
I can see the other side where a player may view someone happy to have a character “unlock” as maybe a jab or shove in the face maneuver and would prefer they just state they outright bought the thing.
So…this is what my personal take on the whole thing is. (As this is what I see on both our sites from thousands of readers. Lol.) The majority of us are grown up, but playing a game which to the mass population may seem “childish”. (I will NEVER grow up!! Just try n make the Bunny! Lol). We are spending real life money on this “childish” game and may not want to admit even to ourselves that we did. So for a LOT of players…no matter the game…it may not be so easy to just say “I paid for this.” Truly. So I see it as someone just honestly wanting to show pride in the fact they got the item, but in a way not state just what they did to do it. As co-owner of the two game blogs I KNOW the amount of money it takes to speed through these games and we do it for multiple devices AND games. Even I don’t want to say how much I spend on the blog games. Lol. 😉
I do not see harm in people NOT saying they paid money to play parts of the game. I appreciate the Premium players as it is THEM keeping the money flowing in to the creator pockets and the Freemium players with cool content and an awesome game.
I see ALL of you in this comment stream as players just trying to state your side and how you view the game. One is not right over the other. All have good points. Honestly, if someone is getting frustrated by those type of comments you discuss…there may be something more going on. ALL players, readers, commentors need to understand that no two people will play the game the same. I just don’t see it…ever.
So we Addicts will do what we originally set out to do. HELP. If we see a player faltering, we will try to boost them. Someone in need, we will help all we can. Someone having a bad day and getting a lil TOO carried away with the venting in the comments, we will request they take a step back…a lil breather…and come back again later with fresh eyes to see if they still feel the same about the way they want to respond.
Overall, we love to hear all opinions as long as they stay constructive and focused on the game. If ANYONE feels the need to speak more, but privately…our doors (email) are ALWAYS open and we are more than happy to further any discussions in a private matter that will stay that way. It is ok to vent now and then, but please keep in mind that those vents may start to look like direct individual attacks as it is difficult to show emotions in words, so they are being read in the state of the mind of that reader.
Short story long…just have fun. No need to pick TOO much on the lil stuff. No need to pick apart one another. Allow open discussion. See the game through eyes other than your own. Have an issue? PLEASE, come to us. We like to help. (Or Alissa may just trap you in a room with me for 3 days to see just how long it takes before I drive you insane.) 😉

I really appreciate you sharing your insight with me, especially as a co-owner of two blogs.
I can see how people could feel attacked so I tried to make it clear that I wasn’t zeroing in on spending/purchasing clams (I’ll be buying some myself very soon), but you’re right, emotion is difficult via words.
As a gamer who uses the internet, and a profession making games (dialogue/concepts/art, not coding and programming) that use the internet, I may have powder kegged a bit, and I apologize to anyone who felt attacked!! E-pology!!
Your points were pretty dead on and you’ve changed my perspective on the issue. I’ll take a step back from the topic! :). I just want everyone to enjoy this game as much as I do (but not the same WAY, of course).

I know personally (I do it too) we can get REALLY passionate on something we love and adore and forget sometimes that passion can cause flames too. So, I find myself stepping back to allow the fire to dim so I don’t burn others. So if I see a possible flame burnin a lil too hot…I try to step in, as I know it is not intentional. Just everyone wanting to be heard and understood. 😉

What the hell… all of my advnture prizes are sitting in an ugly pile in the corner of my town and I want to save up and clear my land over there to make it look good but I cant decide whether to do that or work on the new stuff. So many choices causing caos In my head what the hell. My son starts kindergarten in september and I seen his principle and she looks like kathy bates character from Misery what the hell… shes gonna lock the kids in her office and make them change the endings to their short kid stories what the hell.

My what the hell list is not terribly exciting. Firstly, WTH is up with common items not dropping at common rates? I couldn’t buy a blueprint with clams right now it seems. Secondly WTH is with the 1 day+ build times for property? I don’t even see that yellow bar growing! Oy! I’m about as patient as a bear who just woke from hibernation to find the salmon river put in a drive-thru window and he is tenth in line. I need it now, dang it, that’s why I bought it. Thirdly in real life it seems relatives and random persons LOVE to ask me for money. Me. The penny pinching cheapskate with the lock on his wallet. Now Carter wants 25,000 as well. He already has money, and a shot for shot remake of Liar Liar starring Peter Griffin. Lastly, I’m curious, does the barista get your name right at least or are you a new face to him every time you enter the building? WTH.

lol the barista is clueless honestly. I see him everyday, yet still has no clue. HOWEVER…the folks running the register know me, my name & my drink as soon as I walk in the door. (although depending on which one writes it, they spell it wrong) So I really shouldn’t complain about it too much, especially since as soon as I walk in the door they start my drink for me lol

Ha. I am glad to hear the barista also does not have the daunting task of counting money and writing names on cups. Starbucks would be utter chaos I assume. I myself do not drink coffee but I have a debilitating coke addiction. (The soda, not the drug)

lol took me a LONG time to like coffee. It was a necessity during college (i had a bad habit of not writing papers until 3am the morning before they were due!), and even more of a necessity these days!
Coke (the drink 😉 ) works too! Caffeine is caffeine anyway you get it…just sign me up for the drip! lol

I found out last year that my horrible breakouts were caused by caffeine. And all I drank at the time was coffee and diet coke. I’m so jealous of people who can drink coffee! ! Lol

If I drink more then a single cup it does. Decaf has about 6mg of caffeine. Chocolate also has about the same so I can’t eat a lot of chocolate either 😦

I haven’t unlocked Stewie yet, got Falconeer Peter yesterday, still working on Brian’s costume, Carter is still needing a few items, all which are fine. My WTH moment is really thinking of all the blueprints I will need to unlock Stewie, it isn’t just about how many are needed but also the fact that the characters that do the tasks are tied up doing one thing for weeks and likely up to a month. Never mind getting cool costumes like Falconeer Peter, if you send Peter to do quests to try and earn blueprints you can’t even use the costume for till you get said blueprints. I didn’t expect Stewie to be quick and easy to get, some items just didn’t seem to be well thought through, it would be nice to have a better balance of players to obtain said items, I have characters doing nothing and others just doing the same things over and over and over. The other items for District 8 seem to be dropping at a decent rate even some of the rare ones dropping are not so rare as mentioned but then again 12 hour missions are painful enough. I don’t mind logging in multiple times a day, TinyCo forces me to send everyone out for 12+ hours and no reason to return to Quahog, but once/twice a day. I enjoy checking in frequently, I feel more engaged. My two cents for the WTH. I’m still enjoying the quest for stuff, just wanted to vent a little. Happy Friday! 😀

10 extra rare items, and 30 common items with 20 and 12 hour tasks, to unlock Stewie. What the hell?! (Yes TC changed the drop rates slightly but I still see many players having difficulty)
And unrelated to TQFS… My car is practically out of oil, even though it says oil life at 45%, and it started making this loud noise yesterday, meaning that there’s an exhaust issue somewhere. And of course, I don’t find this out until the night before I’m supposed to drive 3+ hours to my friends’s cottage. WHAT THE HELL??

Just fyi (and the rant is TOTALLY allowed..that the point of the post 🙂 ) the drop rates didn’t change…just the triggers. Basically if after so many tries it hasn’t dropped yet it’ll be more likely that it’ll drop…

Where is my 8h/task with Consuela!! I know the 4th of july event is done, but we still have the building, why should the task be gone???? 8h task are great for when you go to bed, now its back to 6h or 12h hummmm

I agree about the premium characters! Why aren’t they contributing? I would tell people now that they aren’t worth buying because they don’t contribute towards unlocking characters.

I’ve been waiting for this to arrive, well I have had several WTH moments this week and the past, I kinda had a problem in the game which I did write to Tiny Co about but as usual they reply back with the same generic msg saying they cannot help and are making the ge better blah blah blah …Meg finished an 8hr task and dropped a sandwich which I clicked on and rightly should hv been added to the tally of my sandwiches but it didn’t get added… I mailed Tiny Co like I said same generic response when I lost my clams..
So my stance is I will not contact Tiny co for anythin coz they don’t have any answers which ever help me and I will not spend a dollar on this game at all.
Oh and yes tht glove is really annoying 😁😁😁
Also, I think it’s crazy tht to unlock stewie and get blueprints there r 20hr tasks come on this is crazy… And even after a 20hr task there is no drop MEGA WTH MOMENT !!!!

Oh one more WTH, I think there is no point having the premium characters. They absolutely contribute nothing to the quests at all, I think ppl who spend clams on gettin premium characters should b benefitting.
Come on seriously they just add to the coins tally, coz I’m maxed out the level.
I ain’t getting another premium character it’s a waste of clams.

Did you try the 12hr Bathrobe Quagmire task for the Blueprints?
And sorry to hear about all the issues with TinyCo and their tech support. I really hope it gets better…it’s a promising game just lacking on the tech support side of things.

You may consider setting Quagmire to work on blueprints after he is done with meat chunks (or before and let Dr. Hartman solo the chunks). Jewels are currently the easiest and quickest ‘rare’ item. 4 hour tasks with 6 different characters and one building = 42 potential jewel drops per day. PER DAY!!! 🙂
I would use jewels as a ‘last task’ resort and take early advantage of quagmires 12 hour blueprint task. It’s even more efficient if you are still doing banana peel/maraca 12 hour tasks.

I agree about the Joe and the leather glove. I’ve sent him continuously since the the costume was available and he’s only gotten one, but it is listed as extra rare. So I kinda thought that would happen. What the hell is going on with these blueprints though? 30 and the shortest task is 12 hours! I’ve sent Quagmire to watch Netchix 5 times and only gotten two. Two! That’s 40 percent on a common item. I know it’s a percentage chance, but damn.
