Hello There Clammers!
Well I take a night off to celebrate my cousin’s wedding and TinyCo decides to blow up the game! What the hell?! Oh wait wrong post… 😉
So looks like with all of the craziness of the failure to launch last night…things are finally starting to get under control. I know many of you are still locked out, but hopefully all will be restored soon.
Now that things are restored in some places we can get a look at what TinyCo had in mind for this weekend. Looks like the new item of the week(end) is Pesticide Mystery Boxes…
More details will be below the fold, but basically these are designed (as you can guess) to get you more pesticides to help you defeat Giant Stewie. However, they cost clams (95 clams each box) and in my own opinion…NOT WORTH IT. Save your clams! At least for now. If if gets to the last days of the event and you’re just shy of getting George (or another prize you really want) then it might be worth the investment.
So here are the details…
In your shopping cart you’ll see the Rupert Triplets…each holding a Mystery Box.
Each box contains one of the colors of pesticides you’ll need to beat Giant Stewie. Each box is guaranteed to yield 6, 9 or 12 pesticides of that color:
So for 95 clams you can buy pesticides to help you defeat Stewie faster. And so far those are the details of the weekend event that stopped Quahog. I’m sure there was more planned (at least based on the description from the app stores)…
I guess maybe the bombs blew up Quahog? 😉
Anyway…we’ll be back with more, if there is more. So what do YOU think of the update? Will you be buying boxes? Not sure if this is the right place, but I went to purchase clams a few minutes ago on iOS to take advantage of the extra 4000 blam, and all the prices said “wait.” Even the little task button said “wait.” Is this a new glitch, are there problems purchasing clams, or is this my conscience transcending reality?

Re: sundaes.
I have 5/10 so far. I’ve sent Peter to overeat. If he doesn’t give me a sundae, I put him on the 2 hr pesticide task, then back to overeat. He’s gotten a sundae every time I’ve done that, so far.

I have a question (sorry if it’s been answered already). I’m collecting pesticides and have 16 of the first, 17 of the second and 20 of the third (I’m colorblind so I really couldn’t tell you the colors 😀 orange red and green?). I haven’t “vanquished” giant stewie yet, I want to keep collecting and raise my bonus on Blam!. Am I missing out on something if I don’t start vanquishing him soon? Is there a particular strategy I should use for this? Thanks! And keep up the great work guys. This is a fantastic site and the commitment on all the contributors parts is awesome 😀

The best strategy is to build them up. However, you might miss out on the car if you get the challenge that pops up. So I suggest clearing the challenge first and then building up as many as you can after you’ve completed that 🙂

What’s with the jump from 18 to 29 pesticides after you defeat giant Stewie at the 25x lvl? That’s a huge drop from 138blam/pesticide to just 86blam/pesticide. Lvl 1 has a better payout. If I knew that was going to happen I would have just let the timer expire instead of going for the 25x with ten minutes left on my timer…now I’ve got a 24hr wait before the cost comes down. It will re-set to lvl 1 after the timer runs out, right? On the bright side, by the time it comes round again I should be able to max it in a couple of minutes….then wait 24 hrs for it to come back down. Wash, rinse, repeat.

I agree…BIG jump but in some cases you’re betting off letting it reset and build it right back up 🙂
And yes…to let it reset you just let the timer run out. Sometimes that’s the best strategy..

My game still won’t work. I guess I’ll have to wait until Tinyco releases another update, hopefully soon. I also hope they fix the drop rate of the ice cream I hear people talk about. I also hear people have problems with one if Lois’s tasks. Hopefully tinyco fixes all of these bugs soon.

Ok so I’m waiting on tasks to finish and pondering life in my on private Quahog and reading posts on what has become my Favorite place on the interwebs. A lot of people have been complaining about drops rates and not getting what they need. I too have experienced this but as i think what i have accomplished and how much i have actually spent on this event it seems that it would be very doable to reach 100000 blame and get all the non premium stuff with just a few purchases ( actually i am thinking one purchase ). If you buy only one thing for this event, at this point, i would say make it ole BC. I almost didn’t buy him due to the cost and, well, i have never seen breaking bad so was meh. Seeing however that he had a 2 hour task that always dropped one of each spray i caved. That was the best decision i have made.
So When PS came out i bought all of his buildings and the ones for Hammered peter. Looking back i don’t think that was needed ( other than i think they are cool) i would have easily finished both him and peters skin with out them
I am currently at 45500 clams and should be to 50000 later this evening once big stew resets. I was able to get Ron with out purchasing anything in just under a week. I have all but 6 sundaes (which yes don’t seem to like to drop but i average about 2 a day it seems) for Blobulous (and about 500 hams hanging around) For miss Day i still need 4x telescopes 2x radios and 7 dice. Having just started her on thursday and loosing most of friday night i see no reason why she couldn’t be completed by the next celebrity drop.
I will admit i have slight OCD tendencies and check my game hourly if not more, except when sleeping. Though i do check it if the dog wakes me up to go out. I see no reason why i won’t have Miss day and blob boy by the end of the week.
I guess what i am trying to say is before saying drop rates are not fair or this event can’t be done without spending a bunch of money give it some time and effort. The main quest celebs should be able to be gotten with no purchases though not sure about getting to 100000 and Oh Myyyyyy!
If you want a guaranteed 100000 IMHO i think with the single purchase of BC its a guaranteed thing (provided you keep up on his 2 hour task) Yes 500 clams is a lot but that single purchase, i feel, is a guarenteed 100000 blam.
Oh and on the money grab that seems to be a touchy subject of late (i agree it seems excessive lately) i was on TinyCOs website and they are hiring and there is a staff photo there. Probably a good 100 people in that photo all expecting to get paid.
As always thanks to the FGA squad who keep us informed and all the work they do on this “silly little blog”. I actually think they are robots cause it seems they are always here and never sleep.
and one last note i would definitely purchase a Bunny, cyber, or alissa in game character or item!!!!

I am so lucky! So I was needed to collect 7 orange pesticide, but i ran out of time. So I then needed 1, 3, 7 pesticide of some orange colors I vanish giant stewie a bunch of times. Now i need 12 green pesticide.
also got 1 day extra from tinyco so even more luck!

Hey guys i was wondering. I had to download family guy onto bluestacks because my tablet wasnt working it properly. But i boot it up and put my info in and my game comes up. Yay! However, i cant see any of the characters or nerds or wizards. I can still click on them accidentally and put them on quests manually through costumes and tasks and the checkmark still appears over their head when they finsih but does anyone kniw why i cant see them?

It should work on your tablet now if it’s Android and you download the new update.
Sometimes bluestacks doesn’t properly load the graphics, which is why you see the characters..

in the settings for bluestacks you can check a box to force the graphics to run the game and not the cpu. this should fix that. it is located in bluestacks settings->advanced settings->developer settings and check the box for “force GPU rendering”

with 139 clams and sooooo wanting that battery factory or clams, i would absolutely hate getting blam or that waving guy which are the other options left for me! Spent 500 clams and got Bryan but man that factory would really come in handy but 250 instead of 75 is steep versus the risk of Rupert which is probably higher!

So not to step on any toes, bc I’m sure some peeps at TinyCo worked real hard to program these into the game, but these boxes are pretty much a waste. If you do the math, one box is 95 clams and gets you either 6,9 or 12 pesticides. So if you bought 6 boxes over the course of the event (very doable), you’d be out 570 clams (and about $20 real money) and in exchange have gotten between 36 and 72 pesticides. In the meantime, you could have actually saved 70 clams and bought Brian Cranston who (besides being an awesome voiced and playable character), will produce about 27 pesticides A DAY if you’re using his 2 hour task and tapping regularly (and I even allowed 6 hours for you to sleep!) At that rate, he’d trump the amount of pesticides you got from all those boxes in 2/3 days tops. I could get into my theory on how I think buying Cranston pretty much guarentees you getting enough Blam to get George Takei but I’ll save that for another day. To make a long story short, run the timer down every day and if you have enough pesticides, defeat Stewie and keep your streak going. If not let it reset and start again. These boxes are not worth your clams, at least not at this point.

Yea, I’m fairly sure Cranston will guarantee you Takei provided you stay on him every day. TinyCo is also sure to provide more easy ways to get more Blam! as the event winds down and probably a box of prizes buyable with coins. This event period is a lot easier to do than the Moon Event and 100k seems a lot more approachable.

Bryan Cranston always gives you four pesticides every time you send him on the two hour task, and occasionally he’ll give you five. So that’s 36+ pesticides per day if you task him nine times.

I have 2 new issues that have started today.
1-there is now a second part to “redheaded rivalry part2” have lois write passive aggressive emails, when yesterday there was only help felicia day. I have done it twice and it is not counting as done.
2-this morning my game started crashing once or twice everytime i played(hourly for jobs and buildings) so i thought id do a fresh install. It is now crashing at least 5 times every time i play.
It is not a ram issue as i have been keeping watch and have 200mb spare whilst running the app.
No there is no point in contacting support as i am still waiting on a reply from 19th of july.
Any ideas on what i can do to fix both issues??
Please help before my phone becomes a 1000 piece puzzle.

All day yesterday I had Peter on the two hour task to collect orange pesticide and not once did he drop one. Latcher Stewie is supposed to drop them too he did not drop a thing. Before this latest update I used to have at least two latcher stewies within that four hour spawn rate now I’m lucky if I get him twice a day. Kinda disappointed in this week as everything is overpriced and the drop rate is almost nonexistent for everything I need. But on the plus side all this tapping I’m doing allows me to earn 3500 blam a day sometimes more. Should unlock Lois in an hour or so. I hope today’s drops are better than yesterday. Also any clue how long it will be down on Android. My son tried all day yesterday and that little black box from the other post I think kept popping up. Did the uninstall and reinstall thing about 5 times before giving up.

Did he try clearing the cache before uninstalling? We usually recommend hard close, clear cache, uninstall, restart the device, then reinstall it. Sometimes the corrupt file still sits in the cache. This may help 🙂

With the red heads part 2 task, Lois has to write e-mails.
I’ve done this, but the task is still showing as undone. I haven’t fully unlocked Felicity yet, but surely I should have a tick on the task anyway?
Waste of a six hour Task in my estimation when Lois could be collecting BLAM! by swimming in Trash instead…

You should…however it seems like it’s a new glitch popping up more and more today. We’re suggesting just moving on until you’ve unlocked Felicia and see if that helps clear it out. Especially since Lois can be better utilized on other tasks (personally I have Jerome constantly saving her). 🙂

TinyCo added another note to the in-game FAQS saying:
“Lois’s ‘Write Passive Aggressive emails’ action will not count towards completing this quest until you unlock Felicia Day. It takes two to make a rivalry, after all!”
They’ve clearly been having a lot of people asking about it. Personally I did the same as you, and had a similar reaction lol.

Any indication if Tinyco might do something about the sundae drop rate? I put Peter on the task 8 times to no avail & have only gotten 1 through zaps. I’m debating whether to spend the 90 clams to unlock Blobulous today so he (& Peter) can get busy collecting pesticides. Are you fine folks at Addicts considering making the investment or waiting it out?

I ended up caving and buying the Diner XD. The drop rate for them is awful from Peter and latcher Stewie, but you are guaranteed sundaes every 6 hours with the diner! Only got another 3 to go and I can get Blobulous 😀

I have been contemplating buying him with clams also. The build that produces the sundae is 150. It would cost less clams to buy him outright than to wait for someone to give me a sundae… *BTW I am sick of HAM 😉

I don’t know what to do either. I have all the boxes checked for Blobolous save the sundaes which still sit at 0/10. I have have Peter overeating non-stop and Zap Stewie as soon as one is available. It has to be broken. Oh and I get a ham every time I vanquish giant Stewie (16/10) lol.

Remember the sundaes are Extra Rare (like Plutonium) so it’ll take a little while to unlock…unfortunately. And yes…that darn ham!!! 😉

I uninstalled and reinstalled my game yesterday to get by the crash issue. Bur now I cant find Patrick Stewart. I looked in all the buildings and around my town but dont see him. I could have missed him, but dont have any tasks for him to check besides pesticides. Has anyone seen this issue?

Best thing to do is send an in game message to TinyCo about him missing from your town. They should be able to restore it if he is in fact missing. 🙂

Has anyone encountered a SUNDAE dropping from stewie? All I keep on getting are Pesticides. I have had Peter overeating 24/7 since the costume came out. But have only managed to get 1. As zapping stewie is the other only way to get it (freemium), I was kinda hoping zapping stewie would make up for the lack of options. Every other item seems to be dropping at a recent rate other than the sundae. Am really hoping to get all the sundaes before they release the next batch. I wouldn’t usually be overly concerned if the task involved a different char. But with Tiny Co’s infinite wisdom, they tend to use Peter with every single char/costume. And if you don’t get rid of items that require his tasks early, you could easily get overwhelmed. Specially if they keep on releasing 2 (char & costume) every week.

I’ve gotten some from Stewie. Remember though, it is an EXTRA rare item, so it isn’t strange that you and some others aren’t getting them, in fact it is statistically very probable… You are just having bad luck with this one.

I have had 1 sundae drop from zapping Stewie. So far it’s the only one I have collected.

During the previous week, zapping stewie also dropped an extra rare item (can’t remember which). But he was dropping it every 1 in 4 or 5 zaps. Actually got majority of the item zapping him. This time, I have zapped him at least 15 times and still zilch. That’s why I wondered if it was actually dropping from stewie. Maybe I had good luck last week, now it crept up to me.

I need help and sorry for my other posts. Not really good at all this stuff. But my game for family guy is still not working. It pops up that assist error and cancels me out. I tried reinstalling but that didn’t work. I want to keep playing. Neeed help.

Try hard closing, clearing the cache, uninstalling, restarting your device and then reinstalling TQFS. See if that helps clear it out. HOWEVER…only do this if you have an account saved for TQFS. Hope that helps! 🙂

Lois is in the Fab four building, which was inked. I have tried zapping it twice and it crashes my game. Any idea how to get around this?

This is a new glitch we’re seeing pop up more and more the last couple of days. Best thing to do is send a ticket into TinyCo via the in game support. We’ll keep you posted if we hear/see anything else on it as well.

The blue geeks started giving me clams yesterday!! thought i was seeing things when i got one yesterday but got 2 more today so far. only 1 at a time but i’ll take any free ones they want to throw my way.

Interesting. this is the first i have seen or heard of it but a nice little suprise. those 3 got me to 50 clams and allowed me to get the second mexican worker i been wanting. need to clear some serious land but he’s never free to do it. nice to have second guy to do some clearing for me. took forever to get the 50 clams but slowly but surely i got em.
got some of the character/skin blocks almost done and will enjoy those freebies from completing them as well. come on sailor hats to get the last quagmire costume…..

Im not sure if this has been answered but is there a glitch in the game with getting ham? It says chris only needs 10 right now im showing 17/10 and im still collecting ham. Is there a reason why people are still dropping ham even tho ive already maxed it out for chris?

Needed red pesticide for every Giant Mutant Stewie kill. Up to needing 29 red now and payout is the same. I should have let the timer lapse. I have over 30 of both other colors. 4/5 for the blaze car now. At least they extended the time. Really pathetic TinyCo with repeat colors. About to quit the event. Sick of waking up every 2 hours to continue getting red pesticide.

I have the opposite. I have over 50 red, 40+ green! and 6 yellow. The last few days all I’ve had is 29 yellows to defeat giant Stewie. I wish it would change so I could use my others. I feel your pain (electronically of course).

This is kind of a random question, but I am very close collecting the Q building, and it says that it spawns nerds. Does anybody know what color nerds that it spawns, and what is the spawn rate?

I am on an endless loop with the exclamation mark above Lois’ head for the redhead task part 3. Where Felicia and Lois fight about the groceries (then kids) and then it tells you to do all three tasks for Felicia. When I click ok it just goes back to the exclamation mark. Lois was originally stuck in the Fab 4 building for a day with the zapper not working. That’s fixed, but now Lois can’t go onto the next part of the questline. Is anyone else having issues?

I can’t even get lois to get credit for her Passive Agressive Emails…I’ve done the task twice now but once it’s completed it nothing happens…sent T-co two notices about it already and no word…probably because it’s the weekend.

TC have made a BIG mistake with the price point of these Rupert boxes, why would you pay 95 clams at the risk of getting just six cans, when you can rush captain hammered’s pharmacy task at 4 clams a time and get a GUARANTEED 12 cans for 48 clams. Anyone would be plain daft to even consider these mystery boxes, 40 clams should have been the absolute maximum cost.

Oh and for anyone on the fence about Bryan Cranston, since I bought him just over a day ago, I have been able to vanquish giant stewie at 1x 3x 8x 15x 25x 25x 25x, that equals 10200 blam, in ONE day. He is totally awesome!

Nice luck. I’ve had to collect red pesticides for every defeat leading me to one kill per day over the last two days. Looks like the best strategy is to let it lapse on a repeat color if at 25x and get a quick 1, 3, 8, 15, 25… do another 25 if you get a different color. If not lapse and start over. I have not let it lapse yet and hopefully the amount needed resets to a low number of pesticides.

I was able to trigger the new addition today and quickly bought Bryan :). Now I’m stockpiling pesticide (Learned that from King Butt)..NOt sure how long I have to complete this since I lost a few days of play time. When most of you were onto this part I was still locked out of my game, and once I got in I had to zap 10 more stewies (And they were not spawning quickly, like 1 every few hours)…I’m thinking of just building it all up and just get it all done in one shot..

Any news on what the exclusive prize is for maxing the streak meter when defeating giant stewie because I already collected 29 pesticides twice already but I didn’t get anything?
Would you think I’ll automatically receive this exclusive prize as I already defeated giant stewie when the streak meter was at 25x or do I have to redo it when tinyco fixes this?

No exclusive prize. It’s basically how they’re saying you can unlock the event prizes faster. Beat stewie to get to the exclusive prizes faster 🙂

Do not collect from any item earning characters after defeating stewie, the items temporarily disappear from the tasks so if you collect you get nothing and when you send back on task no lottle brown box is there with items, seems only lasts around 20 secs after defeating stewie but if like me you collected while waiting for stewie to return you will be caught out!

Uninstall and reinstall the game has been helping. We suggest hard close, clear the cache, uninstalling, restart your device, then reinstalling TQFS. HOWEVER…only do this if you have an account to back it all up 🙂

Is anybody else stuck with a purpled building with no Latcher but when you go to blast him it blasts but then hangs there in the letterboxed window and you can’t do anything else. Quahogians walk by but you can’t tap them or anything it just hangs with the gun aimed after firing and the purple building still there.
I have Lois in the Fab 4 building and she can’t get out because I can’t get the Latcher off it. Help?

It’s an on going glitch we’re seeing pop up over the last couple of days. Best thing to do is just wait it out. Stewie will jump to another building in 8hrs and that should free it up for you 🙂

Whey i just won my blaze. Before i completed the questline i saw that they have increased the time by a day. Im guessing its for the people who got locked out of the game yesterday

Anyone else’s Streak meter not being reset? My time has reset everyday now, but the meter and amount of pesticides needed stays the same. Struggling to get the car at this rate! Will only be able to spray him once a day if I’m lucky!

That’s certainly odd…I haven’t seen this happen yet to anyone. And you mentioned in a previous comment you already contacted TinyCo (your best method). It’s odd that it won’t restart back to 3 though. Especially since the timer went out. Very odd indeed. Anyone else experiencing this?

Yep very odd. Seen someone mention it on other sites, but looks like a small number. Plus side is, if it stays this way, I get a big blam! payout, it’s just not changing colour either, so it takes forever to reach. My concern is I won’t get the car. I’ve not been able to zap him once today, started off well with yellow spray but all dried up now. Bryan Cranston has been helping.

Argh! Every day now the Giant Stewie streak meter has stayed at the same point, not resetting. The time resets, but the meter doesn’t! Means I’m at the top of the streak now and with the amount needed I’ll only able to zap him once a day, if I’m lucky! Just can’t seem to get enough orange spray. I’ve reported it to TinyCo but heard nothing!

Oh forgot to add…. To those getting all the extra hams…. Here’s something funnier.
Last night, I bought the $50 pack of clams for the event, and decided to spend em as wise as possible. I saw the sundaes weren’t dropping nearly fast enought for Blobulous, so I focused on the other items, and quickly hit the point where it was cheaper to buy him with clams then buy the Sundae building. So I did so.
Even after unlocking him I am STILL getting hams. Lmao. I must have 10 or so in virtual storage.

I think it would be worth it if it was a chance at a spin wheel with at least one larger prize or even a small building that repeated random drops. As it stands it just seems far too expensive for way too little. Seems a little incentive could go a long way in beefing up this sickly little purchase. On another note, I would instantly buy characters, a building or any other items based on our dedicated Addicts hosts. Might have copyright issues with Wookie but how cool would it be to have our favorite bloggers rewarded for their hard work by implementing them in some small way into the games. Kind of a thank you from TinyCo or EA. Hell, I think you should even produce your own plush toys. I could have my own Bunny to talk to while I play that would in no way be creepy or uncomfortable to anyone. Ok, maybe I got a bit carried away, damn ADHD, but I still think it would be too cool and a fitting tribute to such dedicated supporters. I would be curious to find out just how much of an impact ya’ll have had on the game’s subscribers. Thanks for doing what you do and if you make the plush avatars I think I should be discounted for the Idea. Rock on guys

Dear TinyCo – I’m extremely frustrated with this latest botched iOS version of the game. You should provide a way to export your saved game data WITHOUT needing to connect to facebook or create some account (same goes for you, EA!). If you’re worried about security of the game data, then encrypt the data and have the app handle import/export of the save game files…this is all standard software stuff. It’s ridiculous that the “current fix” is to uninstall/reinstall the game…which would wipe out my progress since I started playing weeks ago. Because I can’t load the game without it crashing now, I no longer have an opportunity to create an account in order to avoid losing my progress. A nasty catch-22. Even trying to restore the previous version from my iTunes backup caused a crash. To require an uninstall/reinstall “solution” that wipes out local saved game data is nonsense. That’s not a fix, that’s a huge design flaw and a consequence of “iterating” to deploy new versions too quickly. Consider improving the game to account for cases like mine where a player has saved progress locally on the device and doesn’t want to accounts. Resilient software design plans for the scenario where the app update might be borked and gracefully provides a way to fix it without clobbering the user’s data. Please take some of that $20M funding you received and allocate it towards improving the game’s software architecture and its app deployments…these kinds of mistakes are almost always 99.999999% preventable through a combination of good design, testing, and release management.

Oh yeah, BC is totally worth it for the sprays. Wonder if Fillion will be the same? Just hope he’s not too pricey. Saving the rest of my clams in case. And Red Hot Lois is sweet! Doesn’t earn sprays like Blob, but still fun! One of the best costumes I think.

Can I ask yall a favor?
Yall seem to have more time to do this. Can you tell me at what point it would become more resourceful to stop using pesticide and wait for the timer to fun down? Since the amount of pesticides increase each time you use them you would think that at a certain point that it would be better to wait for the timer to run out and start over again from 1X multiplier. So I can save pesticide and get more Blam! for my buck. Basically I’m asking at what point when you require a huge amount of Blam! would it be best to stop to save up on Blam!?
Sorry if this is hard to understand, it’s hard to put into words.

It is all in how YOU play the game. The time YOU are willing to invest. How much Blam! YOU need to reach YOUR goals.
Many like to stockpile the pesticides…then MAX out Giant Stewie over and over and over for that 2500 Blam! hit. Others are just happy with the 3 or 8X as they don’t play often and collect very much Pesticide.
So weigh out what strategy will benefit YOU the most, and apply that one in your game.

I’d say shoot for the 8x then reset unless you can horde up a bunch of spray. If you’re just going by like daily gains, either 8x and reset or 25x then reset.

My thought is to get the 2,500 Blam! for 18x pesticides. Then let the timer run out when you need 29x pesticides. You get 100 Blam!/pesticide on 1x & 3x multiplier, and the ratio keeps going up until you get to the 29x pesticides. At that point you are getting under 100/pesticide. So stockpile for a day while the timer runs out. Then start again. Just my thoughts on it.

It never becomes mathematically beneficial to end a streak when you can have enough to continue. The payout per pesticide used only continues to increase at theses rates:
1x: 100%
3x: 100%
8x: 114%
15x: 125%
25x: 139%
The best advice I could offer would be if you are in the midst of a streak, wait until the 24 hour window is up each day & see if you have enough to continue. If so, do so. If not, let the streak end & if you have completed the enfant terrible quests, I wouldn’t begin a new streak again until we see what the Thursday/Friday update brings.

I should correct this as subsequent 25x streaks at 29 items only pays out at 86% & is no longer a good deal. Best to let the streak reset after one 25x use.

I typically grab up to the 8x and then let it reset. That makes it easier to complete quest stages that require multiple giant Stewie hits. I started doing this to get the latest car. I now have a lot of pesticides but I’m still waiting for the reset.
