A few in game changes just happened to our Tiny Quahogs…
TinyCo has made some changes to the Trick-or-Treater requirements and a new character has joined Quahog! Let’s take a look at the new changes shall we?
First up…the number of required Trick-or-Treaters has dropped from 200 to 150….
Changes to Stink Bomb Tasks:
A few changes have been made to tasks as well…the previous 8hr task has now been reduced to 4hrs. Here’s a list of who can now earn Stink Bombs:
Bonnie– Make Stink Bombs, 4hrs
Pink Brian- Pretty in Pink, 4hrs
Bruce- Make Stink Bombs, 4hrs
Chris- Make Stink Bombs, 4hrs
Jake- Make Stink Bombs, 4hrs
Slutty Cat Meg- Punch-Drunk Dance, 4hrs
Mort- Make Stink Bombs, 4hrs
New character…Alien also has a 4hr task to earn them!
So they shortened the task time for those that were previously 8hrs…AND they added a Stink Bomb task for Bruce.

New Questline:
A Town Perseveres…we’ll have a walkthrough on this coming up. BUT Lois starts this, and wants you to build the Brookfield Insane Asylum.
New Premium Character:
As many of you guessed was coming….Alien has arrived in Quahog! It’ll cost you 200 Clams (and comes with an egg).
Alien’s questline is called Man’s Best Friend and everyone will get this. Your first task is to build Nostromo, and it’s kicked off my Lois.
Also, if you purchase predator during the questline you’ll earn 12 free smoke bombs 🙂

Ok..ok. !!! I caved and bought alien for 200 clams. 🙂 I finished the quest for 150 treaters with the stink bombs i got from alien and got the new portal and still capable of earning the ecto1 at end of the event.
2 reasons I bought alien.
1) I do from time to time pick up premium stuff. Since Tiny Co has done such a great job with FGQFS since day 1 and due to their Excellent customer service (for me anyway) I decided they deserved to have some income :-). Honesty I could spend 80$ on a Xbox 360 or PS4 game and I would never have as much entertainment as u do with FGQFS. So good job Tiny co and keep up the awesome work.
2) well…. Who wouldn’t want alien ??? 🙂 LOL !!!!!
And to the addict team….thanks again for all you do for this community. It is very much appreciated !

Seconding everything you said! Thanks to Bunny and Alissa I was able to hold off the weekly challenge until I built up a stockpile of bombs. I still haven’t mastered a good maze to trap the kids, but am well on my way to getting the 150. And I just started digging up Francis after brewing the pulpit and confessional. Yay! And Thanks!

so i am having an extremely hard time getting bombs. like 1 every 4 hours with 4 or 5 people doing the task. anyone else having this issue? this has caused me to only have about 40 at this current point. any other ideas but buying bombs to get the goal?

Outside of spending clams, characters sent repeatedly on same task to earn them is the only way.

I’m getting this too and posted about it earlier. and mentioned it to TinyCo. 7 people on bomb tasks, one bomb – This has been happening since yesterday morning – Sort 4 bombs for 28 tasks – also getting the issue when not all bombs that are dropped are actually usable and there is precious few of them to have to loose out on some. The only way for me to even get close is to use clams. Still got some of the little terrors get to complete the challenge.

I got alien before I built the nostromus thing. Then a quest popped up to build it. When it finished Lois popped up and then nothing. No quest line started or anything. I sent a ticket to TinyCo asking if that means I don’t get the quest/rewards of bombs but until I hear back I was wondering if anyone else had this? I’ve had Lois free to try and make it trigger the quest but no luck 😦

Keep an eye on your task menu. If it is flooded and full of tasks, there is no room for anymore. Clear some out and that should help make room for new ones. 😉

It finally popped up this afternoon. Hard to clear quest lines out when I’ve got so many open lol. But all’s well. Got the bomb rewards and cleared the kiddies to get the portal 🙂

When are we going to get more land? There isn’t enough land for the new buildings they keep adding for missions to buy with the potion. Is there any talk about more land?

So happy to say I have done it with plenty of time to spare! They must have increased the amount because I went from only having a few trick or treaters to being over run! I admit I set my alarm for every 4 hours – even while asleep lol Thanks Tiny Co! And you guys of course 😉 xxx

There’s still no way I’m gonna get 150 – only got 69 so far. Can’t keep up with a full time job and all the chores. Maybe I use 150 of my 154 clams to buy some stink bomb, what do people think?

Great tinyco……my game didn’t update until overnight sat…I was still with the 8 hr requirement on the characters and 300 kids.
And to make it worse, you can’t go into the bottom corners of your quahogwith the slingshot.

I have less then 14 hours to go for the 150 trick or treaters. I just had quite a few stink bombs drop from my characters 4 hour task but only 2 counted. Aaaahhh !!! Sent tiny co an in game msg. But seeing that it’s Sunday and there are probably tons of msgs for them to go through I will not meet my target 150. I am at 107 now. Great a WTH glitch now. Have you gals heard anyone else mention this yet.

I have seen it. FOr me…it just took some resetting to get them to sync back up. I noticed the count from main screen varied from count when tapped to drop them. I still reported it and am waiting response.

For those (like me) who don’t seem to be getting a quest-line or tasks triggering for the Alien should find that if you build and place the Iron Maiden a whole load of characters are prompted to start new quests, including the Alien (“Man’s Best Friend”) quest-line

OR…if you clear all the many tasks just sitting open in your menu…it leaves room for more. It really has nothing to do with the iron maiden. It was just a task blocking room for a new one to pop up. 😉

Sorry Bunny but I don’t agree
Before I created the Iron Maiden I only had 4 ongoing task lines, one of those was the ‘reach fright level…’, another one was the 150 trick or treaters, so plenty of room for more
The moment I placed the Iron Maiden 5 characters in my Quahog got a ‘!’ Above their heads so if must have been a trigger. I got the suggestion from another FGTQFS blog’s forum and others had the same experience as me

Thanks for your input…but what works for one person may not work for another. MANY readers just have a full task menu unlike yours, so we will provide them ALL options to open tasks. Not just one specific to YOUR issue.

It depends on what use you will get out of here. She can help earn bones and now Stink Bombs. She can also give your FP a jump. It all depends on what you need to unlock next and what YOU want in your town. 😉

I am so in love with Alien. I just spent 5+ minutes captivated, watching him/her in the game. Really well animated, and sooo cute!

Now, I’m not sure if you guys already said this but…what I noticed is that now to clear banshee( I’m pretty sure that’s what there called) you need quagmire and predator! And I am so mad because I will NOT waste 200 clams for predator!

It has always been that way. Just another additional option to destroy them if you want. You dont have to spend clams if you dont want to.

So after their changes I am really close to making it. I have 124 of them and just under 24 hours left. Still could be tight depending on the drops. Glad they listened and made the change though.
Have any guesses on what it will take to get Cleveland’s costume? I have 390 clams and was thinking about getting him, but only if I can get his costume without spending any more clams. Undecided about the Alien and Predator guys. I have never seen either movie so I am not that big into them. But they are so cool. Why do they have to tempt me with stuff I want?

Since they are just following the template of the last two events, the next scheduled update this coming Friday is the ‘big boss’ type that needs to be cleared using a specific type/color of item and results in getting ‘currentcy’ in various multiples. So yeah….Stay Puft coming this Friday is pretty predictable.

Yes. I’d already purchased the Alien. When I began the task, it went śtraight to the ‘Completed Task’ message and I received my bombs.

Fragrance Factory disappears once you complete the 4 colognes. As far as predator ship, check inventory.

Woop just finished phase 3 quest and got zuul’s portal! Sweet! Did it all with only buying alien. Wasnt that hard.But man that thing is a whole lot bigger than i thought it was going to be.

I still have my maze setup from comicon with the only piece o road in my town in the middle. All the ghosts, dogs and stuff go to it so I left it. Now the trick or treaters are spawning there.

Looks like these buggers are starting to spawn from roads now. They no longer come from the portal. So the old method with a piece of road and open ended maze should work well now.

I’ve noticed how they’ve changed the square quest boxes from the list om the left. Previously, quests which awarded stuff had a small present box in the corner. Now those are marked with a golden line to distinguish them. Make a small note about it so that ppl know 🙂

For the quest “Ghostbusters Roll Out: Pt. 4” you need the Library but I don’t have it unlocked yet, it’s not even listed under buildings with the rest of the locked stuff. When are you able to unlock it?

#1. A complaint about anything that includes the statements “They lost a customer” or “I’m through with this game!” …after you went out of your way to go to a third party site just says you are an attention whore and odds are you are not done with the game
#2 people that claim anything and everything is a clam grab is annoying and non helpful…if you cry wolf on everything. ..noone will listen to you when the wolf actually is in the chicken house
#3. Being polite and respectful…if you aren’t doing so grow up

I am soooo done with this game. Both Alissa and bunny are so unhelpful, you two are suppose to fix the problem in the game about the characters not dropping bombs fast enough but u didn’t. U guys lost a customer cuz I was planning on finally buying a $1.99 worth of clams. And I don’t really much care for predator, it was a dumb comedy that I find not so funny.

Probably one of the best if not the best posts that I have seen on this site. Alissa and Bunny, thank you for what you are doing on this site. Your posts and info have been nothing but a savior of time and clams with this game.
For all of you that are so quick to blast TinyCo on every little thing that YOU think should be free, given to you, or otherwise.. Grow the eff up. Life is this way. It is a FREE game for goodness sakes. If you want Alien so bad, pay for it. If you want Predator so bad, pay for it.
Yes, they messed up on the 8hr tasks to get stink bombs and the then limited amount of characters to get them with a finite deadline but they fixed it!
Quit thinking that the world owes you something. Especially a game that is indeed free and that you actually have to earn the good stuff.
There are no free passes and you cannot “Collect from Go”.

What is the Mans Best Friend pt 2 task that gets you the 12 stink bombs and who do you need. I have predator and am about to get alien. Im hoping to get those extra dozen bombs to help me hit 150 trick-or-treaters in time.

Lois Triggered the tasks for me. If you have a lot of tasks open, clear some out to make room for the new ones.

It took a long time for Lois to start the quest in my game. I had already bought Alien and built the Nostromo.
I had re-started the app, deleted and reinstalled it and tuned my phone off and on.
Then I figured it just wasn’t going to start so I sent lois on the bake cookies mission for Mayor West.
When I woke up this morning lois started the quest and of course the first 2 parts finished immediately and I got my 12 stink bombs.
Strangely tho’ the minions did not spawn in my minions trap, its like they were already waiting and roving around my Quahog. I have decided to just leave the minion maze where it is and incorpprate permanently into my town.

It’s great that they have changed the task times and added Bruce’s task. Just a shame they can’t get the drops sorted. First thing this morning, four stink bombs dropped but only two them registered. Not just on the main play screen, but also on the launcher screen – When I used them, I had none left after launching those two, so it wasn’t a counter glitch – it just did not register them at all.
Since then, I am averaging one stink bomb every four hours with all seven characters performing their relevant task. So for the last four drops – that is twenty eight tasks performed – I have received one stink bomb – A total of four from those 28 tasks
With a drop rate like this, I have very little chance of completing week three’s challenge without resorting to clams
I have tried the usual hard close, restart etc, but still the same lousy drop rate. Sent an in game message, but to be honest, they rarely seem to respond with anything other than a generic reply.

I’ve seen many an item marked rare have more drops than this one. Just happy they lowered the time and added more characters to obtain. Best of luck!

Ok I have a kinda math question. I am not sure how to calculate this but I need help. I have 1 day 10 hours left on the challenge. I have 81 kids bombed out of 150. I have set all possible characters except cat Meg on bomb tasks and I am freight level 4. My average is 5 kids per bomb. Will I be able to get the prize?

Try to hit MORE than 5. Ideal would be 10 to 15 to make your goal. More kids for less bombs is always a good thing. Try to corral them. If not in a maze…block their path in one way or another and force them to specific areas if you can. It is hard to say as it all will depend on how many bombs you get and how fast you get the kids

I thank you for the suggestion, but it is hard to reach the 10-15 goal because of two main reasons.
1. I am still level four so I haven’t reached the maximum.
2. The maze and blockade methods are useful but they have flaws(or at least in my game).
A. The maze only works if there is an exit and I don’t know the spawn point of them since most of the time, they don’t come from the portal, they just are there roaming around.
B. Blockading doesn’t work too well in certain places. I would be cool IF they would make them go through the blockade only when they are scripted to roam particular places, but I do get annoyed when I set a blockade up trying to lead them through a certain path but instead of that, they travel through places where I can’t place anything, (I.E. Uncleared Land, Locked Districts, and water) or through a few of my buildings like the Hattery(rarely).
However, with your advice, I have seen some improvement, so again, thank you for the suggestion.
P.S. I think the trick or treaters, are Jesus trick or treaters (no offense to anyone) because some of them walk on water. I’ll post a pic.p

the answer is yes 🙂 70 kids to bomb at 5 per bomb is 14 bombs total. i am getting about 4 each 4 hour cycle and assume you are similar. that’s about 16 hours (20 if drops suck for you) to get the needed bombs which is a lot less than the 30+ hours you have left. so sleep well and enjoy the bombing.

After reading some comments I think there is some confusion. I know I’m confused (but what’s new?). According to the portal timer a terror dog etc will arrive once the release timer finishes. But according to the in game FAQ the spawn rate and ghost type is completely different from the timer. The timer only affects the type of ghost you can speed up using clams. Seems contradictory.

There is also the factor of MAX amounts in your town. No matter the timer, if you hit MAX no more will come. If you are seeing LONG periods of times and they still are not spawing with none in your town, please let them know. Also try some basics to refresh the game. Like force close and restart your device.

I’m sure my town is at max, or close to it. I’ve got little buggers of all shapes and sizes roaming around lol. I saw a few people say they were waiting to bomb the trick or treaters when they come out of the portal when the timer hit zero. Just saying that the timer hitting zero doesn’t necessarily mean you’re getting whatever it’s showing.

Since the update I haven’t seen any kids come out of the portal, just popping up around town. And I just watched the timer on 6 witch kids hit zero and nothing came out. Am I at max? Maybe, I’ve certainly got a few of them running around, but I think I’ve had more. And I hope it doesn’t sound like I’m complaining, I’ve got my 150 so I have nothing to complain about. (Mumbling under my breath this is the worst thing EVER and somehow it’s all YOUR fault.) 😜

You could be at Max. I see them show up both ways. Street and portal. Just saw 3 more pop out 20 mins ago, but my town is cleared. I think…lol. There is always one or two hiding in the dark corners.

Aw man, I save up 15 stink bomb before starting the kids quest and I got 100 kids in 4 hrs. I’ll be done with that quest in like 4 more hrs.

Bunny or Alissa. With this new update and changes they made, did they also change the maximum poltergeists available at a time? Right now I just took out 5 poltergeists one after the other, when before the update, the maximum was 3. Has this happened to anyone else?

hey found a nice trick to help people out on the weekly prize quest since peter starts it don’t click on him. try to save up stink bombs. Then when your ready click on him start the quest.

I am 90% a freemium player. But I just couldn’t resist buying $10 worth of clams and getting alien as 12 stink bombs really sweetened the deal. I have to say I am happy with the purchase…I am ahead on some tasks..got Francis.. almost done bombing 150 kids and the alien is a hoot!!

Did they change the spawn rate of terror dogs? I need 1 for the quest for ghostbusters Joe and haven’t had one in my town for the past 12 hours or so. Is it a glitch?

Have you tried force closing and restarting the game to see if that helps? If not, please alert TinyCo. Spawn Rates should remain same.

Check your inventory. There should be an Egg that belongs to the Alien. Looks just like the one sitting next to him in this post. You may have already placed it in your town.

I don’t understand why tinyco won’t change the trick-or-treaters to dropping stink bombs once bombed like how the mutant stewies did like I know it gives a difference but come on it makes it possible to have enough bombs to get rid of the trick-or-treaters that escaped our mazes

Wow you girls are so amazingly calm and professional when replying to people. From what I can tell you do this out of your love for the game and your obviously helpful nature – wanting to share the love. I mean you’re spending a fortune on this game to help other people and assist with strategies, all I think is for the people that hound you for info or give you S*** why shouldn’t they spend their money to skip ahead if they’re so bothered and come up with their own strategies. Also with this situation I mean i can see you’re just trying to see things from all sides. I understand the frustrations from the minions challenge and if players can’t / wont spend clams then is it really worth getting so upset about a ghostbusters car. You girls are doing a great job! So reducing the 3-day quest by 50 was a very generous token but it made the quest super easy. I started bombing late last night & literally did most of the quest in my sleep. I’m already done & am starting to send my bomb collectors in search of fire poles.
There is a lot more to keep us busy though this week. Between unlocking Joe, playing through the quests for the sweet Alien, Francis & the main & side quests, fine tuning my bombing strategy & working toward Mr. Weed, I should have plenty to do until Thursday.
Great update. Thanks Tinyco & thanks Bunny for your quick work in analyzing this event’s bombing strategy. If players would just follow yr advice no one would have anything to complain about this week. & thanks Alyssa for all you do helping us fellow addicts feed the monkey.
