Of course TinyCo has armed you with a fun questline to help rid the dead of Quahog (and in some cases raise it)! By following along with the questline you’ll learn the ins and outs of how to succeed at Halloween, and send the dead packing!

Also note that the Fiscal Fright questline will run alongside this throughout the entire event. This is basically telling you to upgrade to the next level. And remember, you can earn clams from the Fiscal Fright questline…

I have Rollout Part 8 up wanting me to upgrade the portal but it won’t let me since I am on the Nightmare Portal. It seems like this would be a second request since I know I must have upgraded it to the Marshmallow one to activate Stay Puff. Any idea if not clearing this will be an issue worth contacting Tiny Co?

You have to follow the questlines. What tasks do you have open? Where are you in questlines?

Are the listed payouts for for tasks that require two characters (i.e., Bonnie/Brian and Jerome/Peter) what you get for each character or just for the overall task? For example, if I assign Bonnie and Brian to the rosé task is it 50 sprit vials in total or 50 for Bonnie and 50 for Brian (100 total)?

Sorry last post, I keep forgetting small details that might get ya into trouble;
Personally, I’ve got mort and bonnie working on fireman poles for joe.. I’m new to the game about to be done building Meg’s location. I’ll be unlocking slutty cat sooner than I can get meg. However, I still have alien, chris, and Bruce currently still producing bombs. Make sure you spray that green and keep the town clean. When I’ve produced a total of 50 bombs I’ll only need 3/shot. Just remember to shoot quickly but aim patiently.

Someone hit me with the link for week 4 challenge.
Looks like 150 kids, within first 12 hrs I have more than 90 down, and Francis unlocked.
It is okay to rebuild 2nd grave as long as you’re careful not to press checkmark. I won’t write a full Francis guide here but for ToT’s, Bruce isn’t mentioned in the tutorial but he makes S-Bombs, too. Alien helps, he can chase his tail and after a couple/few quests he awards 12 bombs at once.
Save up around 30 not counting alien bonus, takes a day or two based on luck. Start bombing groups, don’t be too proud to spawn camp the portal. If you ONLY had 31 bombs, you could do this with 5 kids per throw. Save up the candy corns for the pulpit.

I have 46 stink bombs. Should I use them or hold onto them in hopes of some kind of conversion towards whatever the next phase brings? I’m about half way to Mr. Weed’s required vials so I know bombing the kids would help but if I can convert them I’ll hold off.

I’ve been enjoying this event so far, I was able to create both GB Joe and Francis on Sunday, so that took some relief off the tasks, especially after the fun we all had for the Zuul Portal (makes me wonder if Gozer will be a challenge prize). So at this time, I’m just collecting vials to get prepared for Mr. Weed and Vampire Duck Stewie. I found that outside of the items required for brewing and the items I want, it’s easy to not worry about the other items (ie the clown) until I’m clear as it will be easy to brew later. I just hope that banshee tears won’t be a big role for the next phase, unless Cleveland is added as a banshee collector. With the Q man, I can get 40 tears in about 8 days, but having Cleveland helping would cut that time in half.
Although one thing is guaranteed. I’m waiting until after you ladies have posted about the new phase before I unlock it. 🙂

I’m doing pretty well so far I think. I’m sure there are a lot of people ahead of me, but I learned to keep calm from the last two events. So far I’ve unlocked everyone except meg and mr weed. I’m only a few more vials away from meg (i expect to have it completed within the next 12 hours or so). Mr weed will come with time. I missed the weekly challenge by about 15 trick or treaters, oh well. And I’m on fright level 6. This is all without spending any money/clams (did not even go for alien and predator). For those of you who still feel behind, don’t worry. It usually works out in the end.

Any tips for collecting Banshee Tears as a freemium player? I have Quagmire constantly on task but currently only have about 8 in inventory. I’ve spent the rest in the cauldron, but I still need to make the clown and Peter’s boss (plus whatever is yet to release). I’ve had the Cannery since it was first available, but I think I’m lucky if I get one drop every 2-3 days. I’m pretty good about collecting and sending my characters back out on tasks as soon as possible, but I just can’t seem to amass the same inventory I see other players with. Any help would be appreciated.

Love the blog, and game obviously! Not as hard-core a player as some, still yet to unlock meg or Joe… Advice on who to unlock first as collecting vials is taking me forever and don’t want to waste them on a character that might not be as useful as the other?

So, I was trying to make more room in my city and found that you can put your statues in the water. They look pretty cool out there. Then I thought, will Adam still be able to work on his statue? Yes. Adam West walks on water. Not really surprising since he’s Batman. You can also put the dancing girls out there or any of the decorations as long as they are three squares in width or less. You can not build your maze over the water though or over the beach. The kids, dogs, and so on will just walk through the closest wall.

I got him AFTER I crafted all the items I needed for him. That way it was an instant unlock. In my alt game, I still have not unlocked him. I wanted to spend my vials on other things I wanted more

Bunny or alissa, I was wondering if something like this would work for questline. Take “roll out” for example, when I start pt. 1 and have Lois bake cookies (which is 12hrs) and then go right on to Jerome for pt. 2 “host happy hour” ( which is 2hrs.) So when Jerome is done I won’t click the check on him until after I
Finish with Lois 12hrs pt 1 quest. After that I click finish on Jerome, would pt 2 be Triggered done if I do that?

It all depends on the “trigger” character. If you send them away…the next part won’t trigger.
The method you’re speaking of works quite well on another site we have and that game. It never hurts to do it in advanced.

If I understand what you are saying correctly, I do this often. It’s one of the many ways the information from Bunny and Alissa provides great help.
Using good resource management skills, this is a excellent advanced way to play and save valuable time. I love the resource management aspect of this game!

If the issue is with clams, try loggin out of your app market and back in again then relaunch the game.

I was trying to buy clams to buy stink bombs. It just kept showing Consuela and saying no and telling me to come back later. I reloaded the game multiple times and nothing worked and the timer ran out. But my game was fine.
I posted the screenshot on the Facebook page and another person said it happened to them also.

Did you try my advice? Log out of your actual app market and then log back in. (I see this a lot with the Apple Market on my devices). Something in the sync between the game and the app market is not flowing.
Also, please report it straight to them via your in game support or their support email. Facebook is not monitored by techs.

That is a good amount of Vials. It all depends on what tasks you utilize, what you buy, on what you will earn.

How many tasks do you have open in your task bar? If a lot, you need to clear some to make room for new ones. Also, have you started and finished Joe’s task to start the Bomb tutorial and clear the first 5?

Yes Facebook. Is that contacting them in game or via their website, as I’ve emailed via their website as game id number has changed so I didn’t know what to do. As my first game id began 402, this new one starts 9cb. So I didn’t know where to contact them from.

Now that I don’t NEED to bomb ToTs I’m going to save up the stink bombs I get and I’m also only trapping latchers with the ‘free’ charge. That reduces the vials I get but I fear they’ll add quests again that require more bombings and trappings like they did during Comic-Con. Of course the mistake in that would be if they change the type of bombs needed again, which is entirely possible or even probable.

Its almost certainly going to be collect 3 different items to defeat Staypuft Man, just like harpoons and oesticides and jello shots.
Sad that the events have to boil down to be so cookie cutter, but what can you do? At least the jokes are new!

I have, but don’t expect much to come of it. Asking them to repeat something they already did is one thing, asking them to change a basic part of their event structure and develop a new one is something else.
But if enough people complain over time maybe they will concede it could be improved. 🙂

Yeah but if u hang onto ur bombs and traps u will limit urself to vials cuz there’s so much kids and latcher that u can bomb at a time that u will end up not getting the most out of them. Just my opinion, I could be wrong and what u do could be right. I would still bomb them but still save some just incase

My game keeps crashing and saying “Child name fingerView not find”. I tried everything, exept deleting the app, I’m afraid I’ll lose my progress, because I don’t remember if I’ve made an account or is it just my gamecenter one. I’m so behind on every Halloween stuff.

first off, thanks to TinyCo for tuning the kids. was a huge help. I still wouldn’t have gotten it if I hadn’t picked up the xenomorph but I had enough clams that I could (still have managed not to pay anything, which is my personal “win” condition. I keep thinking maybe I should kick them some cash as a thank you for what’s actually been pretty entertaining but then I go look at how much I get for my money, frown, and move on. so…anyway. just an aside. like I said, pretty entertaining overall)
Second, a question – I’ve had a lot of the questlines for halloween just….not happen. What triggers “a town perseveres”? do I need ghostbuster joe? that’s the only thing I’m currently missing?

I have been telling other readers this same thing, too many tasks open and not completed is a bad thing. It seems there is only room for so many to be held there and once you MAX that, no more will show until you clear some out. I have been seeing this since the game started. Try to clear out some still incomplete tasks from your task bar and see if that helps open room for more to pop up.
I am asking for clarification on when Town Perseveres is set to pop up, like if something has to be complete first. Will update when I get info back.

I am a little concerned about being able to get enough vials to unlock Mr. Weed as a freemium player. But then, I thought it would be impossible to get George Takei and ended up with 2.5x as much as I needed, so it wouldn’t shock me if they came up with a fast way to accumulate vials.
Thank you for this site and I’m sure your own efforts in contacting tinyco were instrumental in turning the bomb challenge from nigh-impossible to very reasonable.

The trick or treaters are a game changer. I am bombing 15 every hour ir two. With more SV coming from increasing number of charachters, I’ve got over 6000 left after buying everything for this weeks stage and there are still 3 days left.
Hitting 17,500 is totally in reach (just so long as they don’t make too many more mandatory ‘prize’ purchases. I swear most of it goes right into inventory….)

I got Ghostbuster Joe,but… Big whoop, wanna fight about it? 🙂 Which in non-Family Guy talk translates to: I think you were right to prioritize the weekly prize over Joe. He can help you zap terror dogs, but since Meg and Peter already do that, I’m actually running out of Terror Dogs. So it’s nice to have Joe be a little less useless than before, but I’m finding him actually less-helpful than Meg in this event. How sad is that? 🙂

I just want to voice my disappointment at TinyCo for how they handled the trick or treaters timed challenge. I kicked it off as soon as it was available on Thursday evening, and set to grinding the 8 hour tasks to earn stink bombs. in 24 hours I had earned 4 and had just sent everyone on the next round of 8-hour tasks to earn stink bombs when they changed the rules. And so it was that I woke up Saturday morning with about 36 hours to complete the task. It took waking up in the middle of the night to harvest stinkbombs and ten clams to finish it. The most disappointing part is having contacted them in-game about it on Friday evening and again each of the next two days, asking for some consideration since they changed the rules to my steep disadvantage, and having received no reply at all, not even a “sorry, we can’t.” Any answer would have been better than none.
Lesson learned though, I won’t trigger any future portal quests until at least Friday morning when I’ve had a chance to read the valuable tips you guys post here. It would have saved me a lot of grief, so thanks in advance for next week!

Just a quick FYI…like most companies out there…TinyCo runs on a M-F 9-5 work week. So ANY emails on the weekend were not even received until this morning. I understand your frustration, just keep in mind in a world of expected instant response…you still need to allow a realistic response time from companies. Especially if you are trying to contact them on the weekend when no one is around. Standard turn around with most companies is 3 business days depending on how many emails are in front of yours. Give them time. 😉

In the SaaS world (of which this game is arguably a part) we have a golden rule: don’t push updates at the end of the week. And this is a prime example of why it’s not a good idea. Love the game and the company (and this blog), but just putting it out there 🙂

I hear you. I too, dug up diane simmons way top early and got her by waking up in the middle of the night to collect stuff. Got her with 14 hours remaning. Then with this trick & treaters, I had to buy Alien for those 12 bombs gift I read about in here, and still, I got the Zuul’s portal with 9 hours remaining. That was too close, and that was the first time I spend money to buy a premium character, I was freemium. So, TinyCo, congrats, your tactic worked on me.

It was obvious after the first day they were gonna change the rules I just waited until Saturday to start and had zuul by Sunday no sweat

I completely agree, and not just on the trick or treaters time challenge but on many of them. Between playing the game on a Kindle (which means getting updates 3-5 days after everyone else) and having to do things like work, take care of my kid, and sleep, I haven’t been able to finish many of the timed quests. I understand that the urgency and the possibility of losing out on items sort of pushes people to spend money on the game but it’s only going to do the exact opposite to me and I’ll end up deleting the game and giving up on it completely. I got the ENGINE_CONFIG_ERROR again and I am seriously falling behind with the event. I got in touch with Tinyco on Friday and they still haven’t gotten back.

Did you try a hard close and restart of it? Also…if you have an account try clearing your cache, uninstalling, restarting your device & redownloading the game. Could just be a bad file on the latest update.

Does any one else think this phase’s quest line was to short? I didnt rush a single thing and the only thing holding off is francis level 6 task

Yes, phase 3 was pretty short…but I think it’s because of the trick or treaters

What triggers A Town Perserveres? I’m almost done with the Roll Out questline, but I haven’t seen that one yet. Does it happen at the end?

Has the spawn rate of terror dogs dropped. I only got 1 dog spawned since midnight last night ?

Forgot to also mention. I have Francis and he is on level 3 right now but he does not earn any XP apparently and I cannot continue his quest line until he is at level 7 ???

WtH is up with the trick and treaters heardIng together like 8-9 of them when I am out of stink bombs. Yet when I have even 1 stink bomb I can get a max of 5 together 🙂 lol !!! It’s as if they know. It’s the twilight zone. 🙂

Try some basic troubleshooting and it your town is clear and no more are coming out, let TinyCo know. All my test games are still spawning them as they should.

Nope, there’s just more coming out of the portal. With 4 items spawning from the portal now it’s probably just getting stuck behind Trick or Treaters and ghosts

Fun event so far. I appreciate them adjusting the stink bombs for the timed portion as well. However I don’t think there’s anyway I’ll get Mr. Weed. Dropping 1000 to 1500 for each necessary building, costume or cauldron brew and only getting 25 vials as a reward is taking a toll. I think the Blam rate was too high. I had tons of the stuff but these vials may not be high enough to make it achievable. I’m not even getting all the cauldron stuff. Just required for quest lines. The ingredients will be tough to farm but I see as achievable. The vials not so much. Perhaps it’s only me though and if so no worries then. Just a game. Figured if comment though.

It’s not only you — I keep worrying about the Vials required for Mr. Weed as well. However, as Bunny and Alissa keep reassuring us, he’s meant as the final prize and TinyCo was good about releasing stuff to greatly increase the collectoin rates in the final stages of the last event. So I’m trying not to worry! But I still get anxious anyway 🙂 I think you make an excellent point about the high Blam rates — which probably spoiled us so now that the Vials aren’t dropping as heavily, we think something’s wrong, when it’s probably just TinyCo balancing things out.

That’s true. I remember saying a month ago: “I need 100k blam for george takei? Man, I’m never gonna get that much if it took me 1 week to gather 10000”

Same here, we need a way to receive more vials. We are suppose to collect vials and decorate your town to collect fright points. But I’m using all my vials on getting the characters and skins with nothing left over to use for buying decoration, this seems very counterproductive.

It may be doable and we do have a lot of time let. I think it depends on what you do. I have managed to brew everything in the cauldron except Mr. Weed. Working on collecting for him now. I have over half my terror dog bones, one shy of half the banshee tears. Of course it is the spirit Vials that are taking time. I was down to zero lets than 12 hours ago after finishing Ghostbuster Joe but have managed to get up to almost 3000 vials now and I slept a full 8 hours last night. Good luck. We can all do it. 🙂

No. That’s it. Who You Gonna Call is a questline that’s running through each phase..it’s just the create the ghostbuster part.

They need to bring back the challenge a lot of people didn’t get it and I’m a daily player.
