UPDATE: We were able to verify in our game that if you defeat the Cowboy Yeti and THEN trigger the Challenge, defeating the Childish Yeti will still trigger the Challenge to complete (even though he is a step up and more HP). So it is up to you to reset the time and hit the Viking and Cowboy Yeti again or just continue and hit the Childish Yeti and defeat them to get the Challenge prize.
Hello There Clammers!
Happy Yeti invading Phase 2 of Miracle on Spooner Street! By now the storm should be blowing in full force in the streets of your Quahog, as the Yeti has invaded the town! (and interrupted Mort’s Christmas shoppers!)
For the week 2 Challenge of Miracle on Spooner Street you’re required to defeat the Cowboy Yeti once in 4 days. Now I know many of you are freaking out about this..and trying to do the math saying it’s not fair, it’s too hard, they force you to use clams. Sound about right so far? Well…i’m here to tell you to STOP FREAKING OUT! Really…it’s not as hard as you think it is.
Let’s take a look at a strategic approach to beating the Cowboy Yeti and earning the Rupert Snowman!
So you want a built snowman huh? After all it IS Rupert….I’m sure we all wish we could have his abs…
Well I’m not gonna lie to you. To get this built snowman it’s going to…well suck. This week’s challenge will take dedication to the game. You’ll have to check in to your game OFTEN. It’s difficult…BUT not impossible.
Again, let me make it clear…it’s going to suck & be massively annoying to do. But it’s not impossible to do. Here are some tips/strategies to help you achieve your goal:
Remember: This is going to be a CHALLENGE. So don’t start this until you’re ready and have time (a solid day) to devote to doing it.
DO NOT Trigger the Challenge UNTIL You Have Hanukkah Mort.
This challenge is basically impossible if you don’t have Mort helping Lois. (it’s still not impossible at that point, but it mine as well be).
Note: If you purchased John, you don’t need Mort to start it. Just John and Lois can achieve this.
Remember, Peter triggers this week’s Challenge around part 2 or 3 of the main questline. So if you don’t want to see the ! over Peter don’t finish part 2 or Part 3 of the main questline. If you do finish that…you’ll have a little buffer. Peter will first trigger the Clam Offer, then he’ll trigger the quest to get Hanukkah Mort (you can still get him with out triggering the quest), finally he’ll trigger the challenge. So, just don’t tap on Peter…and if you do you’ll have a 2 tap buffer before triggering the challenge.
Remember it’s the COWBOY Yeti you have to beat, NOT the Childish one.
Seems a lot of you are getting confused and think you have to defeat the top level Yeti to win the challenge. You don’t. The Cowboy Yeti is the middle Yeti and he’s got a health of 10.
After you get Mort, Don’t Trigger the Challenge right away. First get close to defeating the Viking Yeti.
Here’s what I mean by this. Don’t start the challenge right away and waste several hrs of your time defeating a Yeti that you don’t have to. The Challenge says defeat the Cowboy Yeti, it doesn’t say you have to defeat the Viking Yeti and then the Cowboy Yeti.
So, use Lois to get the Viking Yeti to a point where he has 1 health point left. You’ll see why in a minute.
Start Mort’s Defeat the Yeti Task Just as Lois is about to beat the Viking Yeti.
As the time for Lois’s Defeat the Yeti task nears 0, send Mort to beat the Yeti (or John). So when Lois defeats the Viking Yeti and he’s in his 4hr “rest” period…Mort is still throwing snowballs at him. This will give you a head start on the challenge.
Don’t Trigger the Challenge Until AFTER the Cowboy Yeti Appears.
Why waste time when you don’t have to? Wait until after you see the Cowboy Yeti to start the Challenge. Once he appears then tap on Peter to trigger the challenge.
After you Trigger the Challenge Send Lois AND Mort Every 4hrs to Defeat him.
Obviously if you have John this will go faster.
Worst case it will take Lois and Mort at 1 heart point hit every 4hrs each, 20hrs to complete this. BUT you should achieve it faster, as every 2 hits seem to be a 2 point hit. Set your clock for every 4hrs so you can be sure to reassign the task frequently.
You have FOUR days to do this. So if you mess up or don’t get it right…follow the steps above again (especially the part about starting the task BEFORE the Cowboy Yeti appears). You should get at least 3 shots at this, but if you follow the steps above correctly you should get it done in 1.
Again…I know it sucks BUT it is NOT impossible! This just takes a lot of planning and time management to get it down just right. If you use the tips above you should have no issues beating the Yeti. The important thing is to make sure you check your game frequently & don’t trigger the task until after you have Mort. With out Mort (or John if you already made the purchase) it’s near impossible to do. So as long as Lois has a Yeti fighting partner you should be fine!

just to be clear, you can trigger everything before its possible to even defeat the yeti without clams. took me 16 hours to defeat the viking yeti and i failed horribly within the timeframe for cowboy yeti. any way of actually contacting tiny co besides the email which i have about a 25% response rate. the 1 response i got was 3 weeks after the original email

Through your game, all your info they need it sent with your message as it is coming from the game. Through email, they have to go back and forth with you to get that info so they can access your game unless you provide all they need right up front.
They just got in today from the weekend, so if you sent something over weekend…give them time to all the ones in front of you.

So the 3rd yeti has 18 hit points.
So if you only have Lois it’s impossible.
Max 2 points per task, 4 hours per task, you need 9 of them which is 36 hours.
And he’s only up for 24.
I barely managed it with all 3 on him.
Very over tuned and impossible.
And getting 100 of those items for Jesus is pretty impossible as well

I’m still working on getting Jesus myself. Personally..my best advice is don’t get discouraged. You’ve got until the end of the event to get him & you never know what TinyCo has up their sleeves for getting more cookies.

I tried buying clams to get the extra cookies and stockings, but it wouldn’t go through. TinyCo said it was a known issue as would try to fix it. In the meantime my child got on my game and spent the 145 clams I had saved for the rest of the Christmas weeks. Is there a way TinyCo will reset the game back a few hours for me? I know it’s not their fault, but I am so upset right now. My child is banned from my iPad now lol.

iOS issue? I exited the app, logged out of iTunes, restarted device, logged back into iTunes, then launched and got clams the app to get mine to trigger.

Just curious, is there a last date we can activate the challenge? As in if we did it after Thursday night when week 3 and presumably a new challenge hits, would it still trigger? Still working on the last 5 menorahs for Mort and have 197 clams l, 3 short for John, so I am waiting patiently for one of them to start! Thanks!

Sites like this and reddit talking about these glitches of attacking during cool down cause TinyCo’s spies who troll them to go in and “fix” it. Now you must wait the 4 hours. You can no longer send anyone in to attack during the Yeti’s cool down.
Everytime a “tip” is shared, TC examines it and sees if it compromises their need for us to buy clams. Congrats, you helped them keep the game less fun and more necessary to spend $$. Instead of enjoying, it is now back to frustrating.

Actually…it STILL can be done. For me Lois and Mort never trigger while he is in hibernation. The option is still there as I described it. You have to do it BEFORE he goes in. Send as many of them as you can to attack…only tapping on one each time. If he is not defeated, IMMEDIATELY send that character right back on it…THEN tap the next one to see if it clears him. Same thing over and over. That way, someone is still hitting him EVEN in hibernation. I just did it in 2 games, works like a charm. 😉
Would you prefer we NOT tell you any tips at all…for anything in the events? Like “wait to trigger” “do this first”? What would be the point of our help in that is the case?
It is sites like ours that HELPED players get a lot of stuff during King Butt as well as many other events. Help to get issues solved right away impacting players. Help to focus on items that change the game for the better.

I did exactly the way you described it, didn’t tap the check, tried to send another in, but the game seems to now know if the checked attack was the one that beat him, so it hid the tasks for the other characters. The task wasn’t there and I hadn’t yet “beaten” him or hit the checkmark bubble. So somehow my game isn’t allowing this to happen.
I have tried it twice now and it ain’t worked either time.

But you CAN have one of them already done…say you’ve got two on task and u only need one to finish destroying- ONLY click on ONE checkmark, you CAN leave one just sitting there with the checkmark until the yeti comes back….then click the checkmark and u’ve got an immediate hit

I’d like to start by saying that this game is so much fun! And it’s so cool to be able to find valuable information on this site!
I have a question regarding the Challenge: I started it without Mort :-(, but he will probably ready in the morning. :-)!
Still leaves me a day or so.
Until now, Lois has been unable to vanquish the Cowboy Yeti. So, I had to start her all over again with Viking Yeti today.
How can I still defeat Cowboy Yeti on time? (Also Peter has been walking around all day with an exclamation mark, and I am kind of dreading to tap him)
Would the timer reset itself if I did? And what about Childish Yeti?

Don’t worry about Childish Yeti. Just focus on the one you need to beat for the Challenge. Have Lois keep trying to defeat Viking so when Mort is ready you can jump right into the Cowboy one. It will take some work with the two…but can be done. 😉

I didn’t have mort ready to go either when I started on cowboy yeti, but I got lucky with Lois (!! Ha ha) and she got 2 notches instead of one each time, plus I used a few clams to speed up the process when it got down to an hour

There looks to be no way for me to defeat Cowboy Yeti to get this week’s prize now. I have 2 days left and still don’t have Mort unlocked. What sucks is that I need 2 more Menorah and was hoping to finish it when I woke up, but none of 3 characters that give them dropped any, so now I have to wait at least another 10 hours. It looks like Lois is going to have to defeat the Yeti by herself.
TinyCo needs to plan it out better when to place timed events that requires outfits to unlock. It can’t be back to back quests. It should have popped up after you completed Mort’s outfit.

Is it just me or do the higher level Yeti’s pretty tough to beat? I got John on top of Louis and Mort, been waking up even at night time every few hours (due to the baby) and it’s still hard to squeeze in a kill for cowboy/childish. This is nuts! (but challenging). COME ON JESUS

Has anyone defeated the Viking yetti? I’m in the middle of making morts new skin, and Lois is the only one that’s beating him. Does anyone know if and when the timer goes out, how many clams does it take to redo it?

Does the Rupert snowman drop cookie and cheer? I think I accidentally clicked it and it spit them out (or I think it came from it as it in the middle of my Christmas deco garden of stuff I get from drops and store).

I defeated the Cowboy yeti last night only to discover this morning that I hadn’t actually clicked on the right task yet. So now I have 4 days to defeat the Cowboy yeti and I’m on the last one (sigh). Maybe I can still defeat the deadline, we’ll have to see.

Zoom in on the game as close as you can and try to tap to the side or top of him. Also, if it is part of a task from the menu, tap on it from the task menu.

I think this challenge is bogus because the mechanics of defeating the yeti is bogus. Spend clams on John McClain or on extending the yeti = super greedy tinyco. Not to mention that you probably can’t get Jesus without spending clams. I think the community is pissed.

Dang it, just checked, I need snowman rupert for the grand prize…. ugh now I have to do it over, good thing I didn’t trigger fat man b4 checking in. I know the grand prize is just another deco too but I like getting the big event prizes, my Ghostbusters car is one. Dang tinyco, could have triggered it off go!!!

Ugh wish I saw this a day ago… I’m about 1hr @ 1/2 from defeating childish. I could start over but I’m not hard up for a statue to take up valuable space with no reward. The statue is nice but I think I’ll just miss out unless I have to get it so I don’t miss out on something else. I doubt it will hurt me other than not ha having it or you nice folks would have said it. I’m only worried about Jesus at this point and the more I defeat childish means the faster I’ll get to Jesus.

So i dedicated an entire day, sleepdeprived and only using lois, he had 1HP left.(no headstart) i decided to spend 20 clams and continue the fight. I completed the challenge, but the game Crashed once again. start te game again and the yeti is still defeated (going childish) but the challenge is not marked as complete. and now i dont have enough time to beat him again ( or i have to spend clams AGAIN which i dont want to do again.. i allready spend 20)

It’s random. Just a chance. So it will vary each player. But still…Free Clams are Free regardless how often and how many .

Hanukkah Mort is mentioned so casually in this article. Without the pharmacy skin I can only get the shields through Jerome being a superior athlete. That’s 8 shields (rare!) from one an 8 hour action. Most of the week gone right there, let alone leaving 4 days for this challenge.
Am I simply not far enough through the non-event quest line to have a chance of doing the Christmas stuff without spending clams?

I am really pissed about the yeti challenge. I could not tell how the challenge was being triggered. It came at the same time as mort. I did not deafeat the cowboy yeti with just losi and I do not have mort yet. I feel Tinyco is forcing me to buy clams to get the John character… Plus I have a job and a family, I don’t have a whole day to sit around playing a **** game.

Isn’t supposed to restart the countdown once I fight the yeti? I triggered the quest before reading this post so I only have Lois to fight and it is impossible to fight him 10 times in 24 hours if each time lasts 4 hours, it’s just a math thing.

It only restarts when the Yeti is hit and defeated completely. When he goes to hibernation.

I think I like collecting bombs better than making it a task….. especially if they’re ganna make it go from 4 to 10 health. More frustrating and annoying than bombs

I noticed when after failing to defeat the Yeti and he went into a short hibernation that it gave me the option to get another 24 hours on my Yeti clock and have him regenerate at whatever damage I had already done for 40 clams.
I did that and then was able to defeat the cowboy Yeti without having unlocked the new Mort skin yet. Way cheaper than if I had paid clams to unlock Mort or sped up tasks to get Mort.

You know… I waited… Had one more hp left to hit, had about 6 hours left in the reset timer, started the task, had it going…. And boom, and hour before it was done, the timer reset. Pretty ******. Oh well, time to try again. You know, it seems well paced and all for this event… But things like this are pretty disappointing.

I didn’t even realise I had started the timed task…. I just kept sending Lois Mort & John to beat the yeti so I could get the blue stockings to unlock Jesus. It wasn’t till I looked at what tasks I had to do that I noticed the timed 1 had gone. I thought it was another glitch, but the snow Rupert was in my inventory. I didn’t even know I had started it let alone completed it.

I don’t understand why so many feel the need to vent frustrations with the game all the time.
Be a little optimistic not pessimistic peeps!!
I just wanted to add my opinion after getting a little annoyed at all the complaints when I come here to read your fantastic helpful advice and people’s replies to try to help me progress in the game.
I have always messaged Tiny Co direct with any issues I had and they’ve always responded quickly, also when there is a common theme in people being unable to complete challenges they do try to get the programmes amended to help the players!! No other game does that!! Once they have a specific event etc that is it throughout, where’s as Tiny Co are happy to keep players happy and doing all they can in their power to help.
We should praise them and not slate them. If you are so unhappy with the game clear off and let the rest of us enjoy it and have good communication on sites as great as this one.
My point initially was to explain one definition of a “Challenge” as stated among many others.
“A test of one’s abilities or resources in a demanding but stimulating undertaking”
So this Yeti Challenge won’t be easy or it wouldn’t be a “Challenge”
It’s achievable if you want to be dedicated.
I think all the tips and advice on this site should get everyone completing this in plenty of time.
So I thank you all.

I got tap happy and blew through the new update on the first day. Now I’m trying to defeat the Cowboy Yeti. Lois is going to have to start it for me and I’m hoping to get Mort unlocked Sunday afternoon, so he can jump in and help. I doubt I’m going to beat the Yeti today, unless I get lucky and get 2 damage each from both Lois and Mort. I still have a couple days.
This one *is* going to be hard to do without clams, but I’ve got some to spend if I have to. I prefer using them for special events anyways. Isn’t that more or less the point? To get the really special stuff?

Arrgghh! What the hell!!! Just defeated the Cowboy Yeti 1 hour before the weekly challenge task started and I didn’t get Snowman Rupert! I now have 3 hours to wait for the Yeti to re-spawn so the question is, do I carry on and try and defeat the Childish Yeti as is being suggested, or leave him alone for 24 hours in order to halt the streak and reset him back to the Viking Yeti. After which I’ll then need about a further 30 hours, (based on using both Lois and Mort and only 1 heart point each per 4 hour battle), to defeat the Viking and Cowboy Yetis again in order to complete the weekly challenge. Very frustrating, especially if some Questers in this situation are winning Snowman Rupert without having to reset the Yeti and repeat the challenge. Wish I’d read this post before rushing head and defeating the Yeti in order to build up my streak and help with the 100 Snowflakes required to unlock Jesus!
Anyway, still enjoying the game despite this little hiccup, and loving this site. Thanks to you both for your great work and all the useful tips that you’re passing on to us lesser mortals.

DO what YOU feel would pay out best and easiest for you. Stack the tasks like we suggest. You have 4 days total to do it in. So 3 after reset. It can be done with Mort n Lois. Or…take a stab at the Childish one, but it WILL be harder.

I got lucky on this one. I had Lois and Diehard workin over cowboy yeti. 6 minutes before they defeated him, i unknowingly triggered the challange. That one went bye bye bye real quick. Prolly will end up getting screwed on something else now to balance things out.

Call me crazy. I’m just about finished defeating Childish Hat Yeti with Lois and McClane. I was already going into the second battery of Childish Yeti when the questline appeared. Well … Now I also have to defeat him for Lois and Mort, so I figure in just going to keep going. There’s still time enough to allow a reset if it’s needed to get that snow sculpture. And if I don’t get him it really isn’t the end of the multiverse, now is it? Who says we gotta have it all?

So just to check (as currently battling childish yeti for the first time)….after we defeat Christ yeti we get to go against childish yeti again rather than starting from scratch? Just checking as that will really help in getting Jesus.

If you defeat the Childish Yeti…and keep restarting the timer over and over and over….you will stay on that Yeti. If you miss a defeat, it will give you an optional Clam buyout to restart where you left off when he goes to hibernation…BUT that can get really pricey really fast. So if you prefer, when he times out, just let him hibernate and start again from Viking Yeti
