Just got verification from TinyCo (and it is also being released all over), that the next Tree Level will be delayed until at least tomorrow.
So take your time getting in a few more tasks, collections, Yeti attacks, etc while we have an extra day before MORE hits our games. We have a lil more time before the Jolly Christmas Tree will be available.
No worries, we will be here when it does hit to bring you all the fun and inside details that we usually do.

The new update/tree hasn’t been released yet, right? Mine still says it will update at some point on Friday, but my friend’s game says that he needs to get to cheer level 4 to unlock a new type of visitor and it shows what looks like a Yeti with a really tall hat. I’m well passed cheer level 4 but my tree doesn’t say anything about new visitors or show that new picture. Has the update been released for some people and not others or something like that?

Nope. You see different info in the pop ups at different Levels of Holiday Cheer and trees. Trust me…you will KNOW when it hits as we will have a post here. 😉

I got this game towards the very end of halloween. I see people referencing procrastinators and mazes. Is this something I should know about and can prepare for or am I being silly here? Thanks in advance.

It depends on what the “Procrastinators” do and what has to be done to them. Lol. If they are like Minions and Trick or Treaters, you have to “corral” them to MAX out their capture potential. But we do not know yet. Here are some posts to give you an idea of the “Mazes”

Ollie is not an active human friend. It is the preprogrammed “other” town…the computer. It will ONLY give you one each Tree Level upgrade and it is random. If you want daily presents…you need to link to Facebook and get Family Guy friends playing the game.

Help! I defeated the childish yeti with time to spare (about 3 hours more) but there was no drop of snowflake or cc plus the yeti just went to sleep and I am give the option to wake it up again! I have mort , Louis and Jon working on the yeti tirelessly for the last few days and it’s really gonna be sad for me to restart with yeti number one again and short of 10 snowflakes which I could have earned from that drop and more within the same time that I need to level my yeti again… Already sent issue to tinyco

As long as Christmas itself isn’t postponed I will just go with the flow. Enjoying the event and the pace so far. And I know TinyCo make changes due to player feedback so I guess this can see changes made to the update which then need to be tried and tested, hence a little delay.

I wasn’t really planning on starting the update until the walkthrough is up on this site any way. Not taking a chance on missing something cool because I clicked an action too early.
I do wonder if there will be a new premium character released. I am hoping for either Kevin from Home Alone or Howard Langston from Jingle all the way.

Does anyone have any idea what sort of time it might be? Cause I’m in the uk and it’s Friday 11:04 am? I don’t want to put anyone on long missions (even though they are the 1’s that win HC & CC) so I’ve been putting them on hourly 1’s. Knowing my luck if I start making secret Santa gifts or making Chris look for a job the update will start and I’ll have to wait 10-12 hrs for them to finish (if they are gonna be need) I think Bonnies will be needed for this task. Did anyone find out if The task for Jesus (dropping clams) is just 4 this event or will he always have this task?

I think the next level will release the roaming event characters (my guess… Elves on strike… Or they leave the factory to die xD… I don’t see any reindeer that crave elf meat… So I think we will put them out of there misery….. ) Any admins know if it’s going to be like Halloween and if I should put a maze around my section of street and in front of the event area?

I took advantage of this delay to wipe out all my streets in anticipation of the arrival of procrastinators and am now preparing to build a maze. I thought ahead after nuking my town and rebuilt the city around a central square specifically for this purpose. I took some screenshots of my street layouts so I can rebuild them rather easily when the event ends.
Just let the last minute shoppers try to make a break for the shopping mall without getting walloped with a massive snow bomb (I hope snow is what we get to hurl this time around). That actually gives me a good end point for my maze … the front door of the mall.
The mad bomber cackles insanely to the tick tock of the cosmic clock.

I’d rather drop bombs at this point, so over that yeti. The childish one sucks the joy right out of the game it takes so much effort. I gave up and timed out 🙂 i hope there’s another way to get the snowflake stockings.

wonder if this was connected to the annoying glitch i encountered today. i sent everyone on jobs, with lois, john and bruce doing a hit to the yeti before i headed out for shopping. well when i got back, its as if i never did anything because the three were just walking around not touching the yeti. and i even got “reruns” of messages from completed quests i had read before i left. so that screwed my pattern to kill the childish yeti. so unless i’m very lucky and get exactly 13 points on him…i’m not gonna kill him today. of course if that glitch didn’t happen, i’d be halfway there and would get him 100%. fun. lol

This happened to me. I had around 4 health left on the yeti with 9 hours left. Set the 3 to attack the yeti knowing I’d have him beat when I came back in a few hours. I come back and it never registered the cleared hits I had on the yeti before because he had gone back up to 8 hearts and the 3 attacking the yeti were waiting to be cleared. I was left with 3 hearts after that and an hour and a half to go. So discouraging that this happens often.

Did you hard-close the game? I’ve done that before, and it seems that the game didn’t have time to “save” the last two minutes or so worth of actions.

I suggest to most players…well ALL players…go to even just Ollie land before leaving the game. That usually forces it to sync and ensure progress is saved.

Nope didn’t hard close. I even spent extra time in there clearing snowmen and setting others on tasks. The only time I do a hard-close is when the game starts lagging out or flat out freezes.
Hell, there have been times when I did things that I realized I shouldn’t (like setting a character on a 24 hour task when they have an objective) and did a hard-close immediately, but the game still takes the 24 hour task, so it’s really odd how sometimes it seems like it saves things up to the second, but at times it doesn’t. My wifi was pretty strong at the time too. Oh well.

Glad they held off the update until tomorrow. It gives more time to get Jesus before a new quest line starts with the update. Got the cookies, but still working on the snowflake stockings.

Idk how but I just got 15 clams for giving a present to ollie… Idk if it’s possible but can someone confirm this if it’s true because I’m not sure if I got it another way because I had 16 at 1st got 1 from visiting a friend n then when I clicked on the give a present button I didn’t c how many clams it gave but I seen a drastic change when I went back to my town so if anyone has gotten this many clams or if the addicts can verify this I would really appreciate it thx everybody

Well, it was nice of them to let us know Puppy Brian is probably coming next for unlock. I wish my trio of Yeti pelters were scoring some max damage for me so far after two rounds only got 6 points off (I accidentally sent Mort on 8 task after cooldown started so lost him for the last few rounds). I am worried next Yeti will kill my streak and will add a few days to my Jesus quest.

Because people complained they wanted a timer, so they put one it to say “it will happen ABOUT this time”…but so far they have been pretty good. Last weeks delay was NOT their fault. I think it trickled to this week too.

Just my two-penny-worth – I’m glad there is a timer in there even if the release is then delayed. It gives us at least some indication as to when things may happen. I do agree though that an expired timer with no indication as to what’s going to happen when is confusing.
If they changed the wording slightly to something like ‘The tree can/will be updated in xx days/hours (but this may change)’ And then revised that time within the game should it not happen (or change it when it’s clear to them it’s not going to happen).
Keeping us players informed WITHIN the game is the ideal solution when problems occur. Although I must say that Tiny Co. are one of the the best (if not the best) at keeping sites (and therefore players) informed with changes in the game.

Ready to start the new update in the UK scheduled time 10pm once again got it wrong I had everyone not fighting the Yeti roaming about as do not know who will be needed, so will have to log on early before work as by the time I get home from work tomorrow will once again miss out, they say Friday but have no idea when? I understand things can go wrong and no one wants a update with problems, better to delay, but agree if they have timers they should work, if they are not going to be ready allow more time, and please announce a new allowing them time to get it ready, so we know when to start, not leave us in the dark.

As with any glitch, you just do not know and it is impossible to know how fast or easy of a fix it is. It could take seconds, hours, or days. So…they say tomorrow to be safe and to make sure all is good before launch.

Got only a few snowflakes. Please help!! I don’t know how the players that mentioned “they already got Jesus” did it. It seems next to impossible to achieve with long tasks and very little time…..

Whoa, whoa. The Childish Yeti when defeated should stay at Childish. If you fail it should drop you back to Viking. If you are getting dropped back to Viking after defeating the Childish, you need to contact TC.
I am at 72 snowflakes because I defeated Viking for 2 once, Cowboy for 5 once, and Childish for 10 about 7 times and I bought the clams to buy John which gave me 5 more. Minus the ones needed for gifts (I am assuming 10 snowflakes) it puts me at needing three more runs at Childish to get Jesus. But since next Yeti (which I assume, is going to be harder and has a higher stocking payout) is probably coming next maybe I might need to restart streak due to failing to defeat it.

I hate to be a grinch but they really need to step up their game.
Content with a release date should be polished and ready WELL before its time is due. Seems amateurish. Especially when they dont announce a delay until the very last second.

I just had Somthing strange happen in my game that I reported to TimyCo and was wondering if it happend to anyone else.
A quest popped with Jerome talking to Meg about getting a present for his daughter, and then said “make Jerome shop for gifts”.
But the quest didn’t show up in the task bar or in his list of things he can do, can this be fixed? I don’t want to be stuck because a quest didn’t start.
Had anyone else had this mission that won’t start?
Or was it supposed to start after the Xmas tree updated?

Some new extra quests popped up recently in the game with a patch. “It’s better to give…” and “That’s a wrap”. I am not sure how they play into the main questline. I think they’re just extra time fillers. Their icons just looked like presents in my task bar.

I didn’t get anything to do in my task bar at all, just a set up to go shopping and no quest in the task bar for Jerome to do it or in his list of things he can do.
It was the only extra quest I saw today and there was no way to do it.

I just had that quest pop up but Jerome was wrapping secret santa presents and still had 5 minutes until the task was complete. Low and behold once the task finished the quest did as well. Try sending him to wrap presents. If that is the case its some bad wording on the quest 😐

Just throwing this out on the table, so if it doesn’t apply please disregard. How many active quests do you have? I have read elsewhere on site about having a full quest bar preventing new quests from starting. So maybe the quests spawned, but cannot start due to this.

His is a unique situation though. The quest DID spawn for him…but never showed up in the task bar. It is like…a ghost task. Lol. Maybe the spirit of xmas past?

An opening “Splash Screen” has been added to the game to alert everyone of the delay. Also includes a teaser about Puppy Brian coming to the game on Friday/with the next update – so excited! When I saw him on the loading screen at the beginning of the “Miracle” event, I had hoped he would be added to the game play. Soooo cute!!

I like it. They push a crazy schedule over there and in the past sometimes focuses on speed over quality. Them taking an extra day to get things right is putting the customer first in my opinion. Thanks TineyCo and Thanks Bunny and crew for a great information site!

Why do they even put a countdown timer to when something will happen? I don’t think even one has been correct in thus event.

How do they know something will happen until it is launched? That would be impossible. No one know how something will work on a million devices until it hits…a million devices. If there is an issue, an unforeseen one….that is what the issue is…unforeseen.
I kinda have to giggle at the entire thing. People scream for a timer to show them when something will happen, so they put them in…then people scream when a change has to be made. That is the entire reason they DIDNT put timers in when they started. So if they run into an issue, they could still fix it.
Just can’t win on that one. I honestly would prefer they took all the timers back out, but…then people will scream again. Lol.

This delay most likely has to do with the weather. I live on the same coast as TinyCo and the rain this week has still been pretty bad.
From the original rain delay expect this event to always be 1 day behind (Friday updates instead of Thursday). I do hope TinyCo gives us an extra day on the final week to make up for this.
