Hey there Tribblemakers!
I know many of you that got the in game messaging responses in regards to an extension are patiently waiting news of just what will happen with the Event. For now, it is still showing as just 1 day (01D) left in the Menu. So, will there be an Extension?
After experiencing some issues over the weekend, many of you received a response similar to this one…
“While we don’t have any announcements yet, we’re looking into all options for how we can help players maximize the event in these last few days. This is especially true for players who got caught in the Enterprise crash bug: we want y’all to be able to finish the event as normal.
We don’t yet know what form that will take, but we expect to have an announcement before the end of the day ….”
First off, I wanted to say thank you to all that wrote in. As we try to encourage here… if you have a want, suggestion, or idea that you feel would benefit the players in the game… let them know. You may not always get a response to suggestions, but as you can see they ARE reading them and paying attention.
Now to the issue at hand, just WHAT is it TinyCo is going to do to help out the players?
Hailing on all frequencies! The Star Trek event has been extended by one week. The event will now end on May 7th at 3 PM PDT.
Thank you all for being such amazing players. We’re very proud of this event and hope this helps you experience as much of it as possible. Live Long and Prosper!
So there you have it. We all will have ANOTHER week of this Star Trek Event to be able to get those extra items you need and maybe the last of those Characters you have been wanting. Remember the Borg Bertram will still be your best supply of Dilithium Crystals and Dark Matter, so keep at the battles at the highest possible Boss you can.

Worst news ever personally…another week of this event that seems to have been around forever already, However congrats and good luck to everyone who wanted it and needs the stuff still…Roll on 1 weeks time! Has anyone got any guesses what the next theme/event will be?

if they’re up for sequels….i’d be cool to have another comic con event, maybe even do it yearly. though if they do that, guessing it’ll be around july like the last one. but it would be a chance to get Wil Wheaton in the game and then maybe give him a TNG skin. 😛

I had sent TC a msg regarding my lost 24 clams last week and I hope they can reply me with great understanding.
Since they extended this event, I hope they can introduce a new skin. 7 of 9 skin would be great for Bonnie I think.

Hate this, again and again this event I have unlocked stuff only for them to turn around and make it easier or give people longer. I unlocked everything 5 days ago, have my final person due to complete the last side quest in a few hours. Now I’m stuck with another week of the event and nothing to do.
I could literally have started this event 2 weeks late and still finished it so whats the point in trying hard when everyone just complains and they make it too easy.
My first real rant about this game since it started but it just grinds my gears so much.
How about they at least add something in for those that have already completed it, someway of using the hundreds of each energy I have sat doing nothing.

Now now now. Remember, we have players that are completely locked out of their games still and others that did not have any access all weekend long. This has nothing to do with complaints. This is a legit reason to extend as players lost that time. Unfortunately there is nothing they can do about Apple as Apple is controlling the approval process of apps through its market, but they are able to control a technical issue with the Enterprise. Hence the extension. I am sure if it was YOU in this boat, you would have wanted the extension too.

Well, since I managed to finish all freemium characters and replicator items last night, it’s time to get rid of the quest lines and get some more of them delicious free clams from the transporter. 😎

I wonder if they’re going to do something for the new week. I’ve got 55,000 dilithium crystals and 418 clams and NOTHING to spend them on as I have everyone. Curiously, I thought they might pull Wesley Crusher out of the replicator or something but it never happened. Wil Wheaton is a techie guy so I am really surprised he’s not here.

Another week, ugh. ok. I bought Guinan and Spock this event and I’m all caught up. (Only reason I bought Guinan was to get Klingon Meg because she was advertised to help with other characters, which she never did).
I was worried I wasn’t going to get Kirk, but keeping up on Bertram did that and more as far as crystals went. Now I’m working on Kirk’s questline and after that, I’ll be bored for a week, I guess. Hopefully there’s a new questline or two with the extension.

not the first time they have promised and not delivered, anyone remember the Q hotel? They said if you got all the materials to get it permanently that it would occasionally spawn nerds who would drop clams. 8 months or so from comicon and still waiting for my first nerd to spawn.
On the Meg side, I have found her to be one of the most useless characters in the game, which is appropriate considering her standing in the family, sometimes I almost feel sorry for her, then I just say ‘shut up meg.’

This was an issue of the game crashing/lock out technical issue the Nerds had caused. Completely different situation.

I did the same thing. I do hope that TC devs do notes from this event and design the future events more reasonably. It’s nice of them to own up their design mistakes though the way they’ve done during this event.

I sat this event out as I was never a fan of Star Trek. I was so looking forward to the end so we could finally move on to something else. I guess I will just have to wait a little longer. I hope the extension helps everybody out. Good luck getting those final few items and characters.

Thanks for the kind words. I wasn’t a fan of Star Trek before this event, but I am now. To date, I have watched every episode from the original series that I can find on youtube. Strangely enough, the next generation doesn’t interest me as much, even though most of the freemium characters in our game are from that incarnation of star trek. I can’t even complete a single episode before closing the tab.

I am glad the game was extended. However I have an iOS 6 and I have been locked out of the game since April 18th. I have sent numerous emails to Tinyco no response. I have uninstalled / reinstalled app. Nothing has worked. I cannot purchase a new device to just play the game. I was really enjoying the event prior to the 18th.

Sorry. As I’ve posted here many times… The wait is on the Apple App Market and it’s approval procedures. Keeping paws crossed we see it as soon as tomorrow finally push.

I’m having the same problem. I did get an e-mail stating it was sent to the APP store for review and would be ready early this week. Obviously this didn’t happen. I’ve emailed several times as well…..just get the automated response. So frustrating!!!

It sucks when it is in someone else’s hands. Unfortunately nothing anyone but Apple can do at that point. Just becomes a waiting game on them.

Bunny have you heard anything about a fix for the iPhones who aren’t compatable w the newest update? The last I heard 4/18 they were working on it. I haven’t been able to open the app and play the game in a week. 😦

Word is … I hope… they finally gave them the green light. If all goes well, I hope it hits later today. Keeping my paws crossed.
I appreciate why they have to approve things via the app markets… just socks for those waiting and the game houses are helpless to do anything more too but wait on the app market. Not the first time I’ve ran into this. I’ve seen it too many times to count, not just this game either. A lot of other games.

I am seeing this quite a bit, I think by delaying these kind of patches for this game and others Apple hope people who can will update to the newer IOS and those with older devices will upgrade, something that’s not always possible. The good thing is TinyCo are pushing for the update and not doing what many developers are and dropping those on IOS 6. They seem to appreciate not everyone can have the latest devices. Thankfully I’m not affected by this but hopefully the updates pushed and week long extension will help all those locked out to complete the event.

No ill will. And you misunderstood what I was saying, but instead of writing a novel back and forth… Let’s leave it as is and return the focus back on where it should be… the post and what it’s meant to do… Help players have more time in the game.

As I stated…You misunderstood me. I feel you took it personal and reacted. Your reaction showed that. I was just offering examples of why I thought the comment was the way I did.
I felt your comment in return was unnecessary. Attacking for no reason. There was no reason to pick apart what I said. I was only voicing an opinion.
So Instead of debating and turning it into a soapbox back n forth on a post that had nothing to do with the subject matter, I felt it better to just stop. No reason to continue the debate. Return focus to what actually mattered in the post and keep discussions such as that for another place where they’d be better.
It would do nobody any good to overtake a post with such trivial things. Don’t you think?

I am so glad, as I wrote in a previous post it was really hard to get all the dilithium necesary to get the characters and costumes necesary to complete all on time (without expending too much clams)

(i speeded up some stuff to get the characters, best i could do, now i only miss Joe , Data and Kirk, but i am constantly defeating Bertram at the highest level. so i will complete it by the weekend Yeah!!)

Transporter/ Borg Cube task. 2-3 crew members. Good chance of 500 dilithium/ I hour task. Crew members needed have no crucial tasks. QuagSpock, Star Lois and Peter ( if you want a better chance) But I got good results with two crew.

That is pretty awesome. It will give me time to finish side quest. I was able to finish the main quest earlier.

I am happy that TinyCo listen to their customers, this event has been to much stuff in too short time.
On the other hand, it also feels like a slap in the face. I saw early that the droprates were messed up, so I spent many nights trying to optimize my chances of completing everything in time without wasting clams. Yesterday I completed the main quest and I just finnished the last of Scottys and Kirks sidequests.
So much wasted sleep for nothing.

I wrote in yesterday about this error message keeping the game from loading on my phone. I had just finished getting all the replicator items, characters, and costumes for this event ( not to mention most of the planetary boxes items). I tried deleting it from my iphone and reinstalling, same issue. Then I tried installing it on my iPad, again same problem. Has anyone else had the error message location_building startrek? I was really looking forward to finishing the quest lines now that I got all the items. I have spent over $100 on this event alone not to mention ridiculous amounts of free time since January. I wrote Tiny Co, no answer yet. I love my little city. If anyone has any suggestions, please send em my way.

is where the people stuck in the enterprise bug, I am so very excited with this news! the gym was freaking out I wouldn’t be able to get Kurt considering I miss 3 days of crystals. Luckily now have a chance to finish out the quest lines and everything! It really does help to send them feedback in game, which is what I did. Now I don’t have to stress about being one character short of having everyone! =D

Sweet! By sending a crew to the cube every hour on the hour for another week, I should be able to bet another 120 clams for so.

I totally think it’s awesome you are extending the play time but I’ve spent about 75 claims trying to speed up quests. Which really really really sucks. I can’t be the only one who feels this way. Thanks for listening

Let them know through your game. Sadly this is why we urge players to wait til the last day before using your precious Clams. It’s not for an extension, but with each Event, they always increase items towards the end. So you are more likely to get the last of it in the final days. Sorry 😦

Sadly that plan doesn’t work well with the Bertram battles. I wasted clams to make sure I could get Kirk and the Joe skin. I’ve been burned by rule changes in the past and won’t be buying any more clams.

For me, in addition to the possible shortage of dilithium and dark matter, I was going to be short replicator energy for Kirk, so I bought the racquetball court, or whatever it is, so I could make up the lost time. There was no speed up or way to wait until last minute with that one.

I still think it will take a lot to do that. Remember, the Mouse owns that House now. Not to mention the OTHER game we write about… that Game House has all their fingers in the Star Wars pie.

Mouse may own that house but Fox forever holds the rights to “A New Hope” and holds the rights of the other 5 movies until 2020. So there is still hope.

Thanks for the extension, however, I have one major frustration with this.
It was clear when Scotty was available (time limited from purchasing Khan) that I would not be able to reach Kirk by the end of the event; therefore I couldn’t complete The Original set. Due to this situation, I chose not to purchase Khan and hence not get Scotty.
Now with the extension, I should be able to get Kirk, but now miss out on The Originals due to the original situation.
Can TinyCo please re-instate the premium purchase options? Now that the rules of the game have changed.

I wrote a polite note yesterday, urging an extension and pointing out that my request was a compliment to TinyCo, that they had provided so much gameplay that I had been unable to complete all the quests. I thanked them for an event that featured all these characters for which I had such affection, and explained that now I just wanted to spend some time with those characters. They sent back a nice note saying that they were considering many options. I’m tickled that they went my way.

i’m so happy they did this, it took me forever to finish unlocking data and i still have a lot of his questline to finish, there was no way i would have ever been done on time.
do wish i hadn’t spent 200+ clams last night speeding up attacks on borg bertram though, in a last ditch effort to get enough dark matter for kirk.

I am in the exact same situation.
I was on track to get Kirk, so long as I didn’t sleep, but I just got Data and started Final Frontier, and I’ve got a load of character quests left still.
I am glad they extended it. I’ve spent so many clams on this event. Borg Consuella in particular was a real mother.

Good news for those who needed more time. I guess I’ll spend the next week trying to score as many free clams as possible from the Borg Cube since I unlocked all characters and finished up all quest lines yesterday. With some good luck, I’ll replenish the many clams it took to get the Consuela skin. Good luck all!

First I want to say thank you to everyone at Family Guy Addicts for an awesome place to come and get much needed information and help, but especially for being the advocate for the people who feel like they are nothing but a whisper in a storm. The Enterprise crash was detrimental to my game as I am sure it was to many others. Having you there to help us through it was down right awesome.
I also want to thank those at TinyCo who, I’m sure put in countless hours into finding and fixing this issue. I’m sure there were many unhappy expressions during that time, but I hope others join me now in giving thanks and appreciation to the team at TinyCo. Also thank you for doing right by your customers and fans and extending this event enlight of what had transpired.

I have had everything now for about three days…..I may have some quest lines to get, but the best part is…..I will have an extra week for Borg cube missions. I have been hitting at least one a day now for a 5-clam prize since Monday. If that rate keeps up, that is an extra 40+ free clams. Woo hoo.

Well I was able to play on my exe’s Ipad during the Enterprise bug and now I am just finishing the last of the quests. I guess I will be bored for the next week while everyone else catches up.

Ditto. As soon as I fulfill my “kill Bertram twice” requirement, I can start letting my fighters (Chris especially) really start in on the various sidequests that have been building up. Maybe I can even build up enough Clams to make it worth it to have a go at getting Borg Consuela.

I’m really pleased that they extended the event to let those that experienced tech glitches to keep on reaching for the stars ;). For me, I’ve been able to get Kirk and pike joe in the last coupla days so feel like …. Yay!,, now I get to go out and play! Put this game on the back burner for a week. But it was fun…

Good luck to all..I have finished everything but some quest lines.
I was quietly hoping for most of the event that they would give us Mr HA Wheaton for free at the end as a bonus, but I guess not. I find it hard to believe that of all of the actors on the show, Wil wouldn’t have wanted to be a part of this. He probably plays the game! lol . Either that or they didn’t want to use him or pay him. Whichever…we should have Wesley!

I am curious why you spent Clams. It was not set to end til tomorrow. Sorry you did. This is why we push do NOT spend Clams and always wait til last day, so even if it comes to that… it is the smallest amount possible to use. 😦

Perhaps he spent clams yesterday or today before the message? That’s more or less the “last minute.” Or perhaps he spent clams to speed up the various stages of 24-hour Bertram battles by an hour or so each time, knowing that he needed to defeat Bertram several times in the remaining 2 days to get what he desired. Neither case qualifies as curious, and his disappointment is valid. Other than that, great work!

I spent Clams too. In my case, I had already determined that by defeating Bertram 3 more times, I would have earned enough Dark Matter to unlock Kirk. And I had 4 days to do it. Which meant that I couldn’t afford a loss. My latest fight was scheduled to end at 3 AM in the morning. So, my choice was to spend clams to defeat him early and get a full night’s rest or set an alarm that would make me nonfunctional at work the next day. So I chose to spend the clams.
Of course, my current battle looks to be an exact repeat of that choice. But with the extension, I can take the loss and fight through a few rounds of the lesser Bertram battles. I only require another 40 Dark Matter now, so that’s attainable in under 2 days, even if I lose this fight.
Also on the plus side, is that I should be able to work through all the remaining questlines with the extra time.

This is what I would suggest, message them… BUT wait… Take a deep breath first so you are in the right mind. Be technical about it (remember they are a business, and kindness goes a long way). Message them from your game. Explain what happened. And see what response you get. 😉

Glad for this. Got the last of all the characters and skins you can unlock other than Kirk earlier today. Hopefully I can keep the final form of Bertham up long enough to get the Dark Matter and Crystals for Kirk.

Ah crap, just after I took a few slight digs at the game on the other site.
Awesome news for everyone who was affected by lock outs, bugs, crashes, poor drop rates, a need to actually sleep or whatever else.
I would have just scraped through and got everything by tomorrow but it’s been a nightmare. Time to get started/continue on those 12 different event questlines I haven’t been able to do so far.

Woo hoo! Now maybe I will be able to figure out Borg Bertram since I gave up on him after five tries and…nothing. So confusing. But I’ll keep trying! I just want TStewie and Data (need lots of dilithium for them) and then I can officially give up. Thank you TC!

Awesome. As a 95% freemium player it was looking like I was going to get either Kirk or Capt. Pike Joe. Now I should be able to get both along with all of the other replicator items. I think the only major item I won’t get is the Herbert skin. I would rather spend my transporter energy farming the Borg cube for dilithium and clams.
