Hey there Mafioso!
Late last night, TinyCo released some updates to the game via the App Markets. Just wanted to bring them to your attention today to make sure you got them.
I would suggest you go to your App Market and ensure you have version 1.9.7 loaded into your game for tonight’s New Content Release.
So what kind of changes are noticeable with the New Version? Let’s take a look…
CARDBOARD BOX ICONS OVER BUILDINGS
One of the first things you will most likely notice is that for ANY Building that drops Material Items for the event (like Sequined High Heels, Luchador Masks, etc) you will now be able to know for sure as they will have a floating Icon above them when it comes time to collect. The Icon will be of a Cardboard Box (similar to when you have multiple Material Drops from a Character Task).
This change will make it much easier to differentiate those buildings with basic drops with the ones that will help you with Materials.
EVENT CURRENCY TASKS UP TOP
The Tasks that dropped Material Items were already at the top of the Characters Task list when you went into the game, but now you will also notice that any additional Tasks that drop Event Currency (Mob Rep & Cookies) have also been relocated to the top of the list.
This will make it much easier to see all available Tasks you can send Characters on that just had a few. Like Quagmire, Joe, Mort, etc.
There are other changes this Update will put into place, but they will not come until the New Content later today, so make sure you get it loaded BEFORE this afternoon.

And I completed the Legal Eagle 24 hour quest but it didn’t credit for the Mr. Washee Washee/Peter fight. I was able to try twice during the time and it still says they need to fight. What can I do?

So I finally got 7500 mob points and claimed Kingpin Consuela thinking I was going to get the gun shooting character shown but all it did was unlock and give me regular Consuela in her house and started me off on regular level 1stuff with her. What gives?

With the new update mr washee has now been returned to the store and locked. I only needed to get the 5000cookies and 4 more tapes.

I’m on android but noticed this too. The game loads in about a 1/4 of the time that it had been.

Another error with clam videos. Reads: child name_reward_quest not found.

As that is still in its testing Phase and only a few select players get it… please report any issues directly to them via your in game messaging.

I haven’t seen error messages, but the videos haven’t appeared since the update Thursday. 😦 They had been appearing about every 24 hours for the previous few days. Hope they return, I just need a few more clams for Mr. Miyagi and may not make it with just Ollieland clams. iPhone 5s, iOS 8.3. Still trying to get past the judge in raid 3 on the courthouse, so haven’t upgraded the mansion yet.

I saw a comment by Tiny Matt from TinyCo on the reddit forum that was dated a couple of days ago, saying the update did have a bug preventing loading of the videos but they expected it to be fixed in their next update, in 2-3 days from the time of his posting.

Have the updates for android and apple been in sync with each other lately? I haven’t updated on my ipad in a while since the issues where you could only play one device and I was scared to not be able to play on my phone so I haven’t updated the other. Just curious if it’s safe now.

I lost Mr Washee too. Only a few tapes needed to complete him.
Also, why is Gangsta Tricia so many cookies? 20,000? With all the peripheral buildings I have had to buy that seems a tad steep.

Mr Washee Washee disappeared from my game as well after the update. He is no longer standing around waving his arms and no more items for him appear in tasks lists. All drops that were for him are now coins.
I am on an iPad at Good to be a gangster part 5. I am about a week behind.

Goons. It allows you 9-12 Total in your town. Depends on how fast you make them and use them. You will need them a LOT this Week

Sounds like a Happy Glitch to me if you got extra… So, you have 5 trailers now? And still the Clam one sitting in the Menu? If that is the case, you probably just bought the one from last week. It was 500 too after you Completed “All Rise” Part 1. If you have 6 plus the Clam one… that would be one too many.

Any word on missing Mr Washie Washie? Was there during lunch today now gone. His store is there and the quest line to use him is there but when I click on the quest task it take me to the shopping cart where he’s a locked item? Only needed 2 videotapes!

Has there been any indication that they will extend this event due to the various issues in the previous weeks?
|’ve been playing pretty regular, but got hosed by the tubas and tapes. I’ve just started the 3rd phase of the latest raid and just seen the goon requirements to complete it! 9×3 showgirls, 16×2 Yakisobas and a full destroy of fort nox again for the questline.

Here is sit all excited, all caught up with a whole day before upgrade to grind out the goons for boxing gloves. Down to last 10! Sweet will finish just in time….oh look an update better do that…um…um…um…goons ready…where da gold trucks? Hmmm…maybe wait….hmmm….restart…hmmm…see Mr. Burns leading them to Springfield for his money pile?!?! :p
But seriouslly, no gold cookies trucks…KHAAAAAAAAAAAANN!

Reload after switching back and forth from another iOS app is almost instantaneous now! Kudos to TinyCo for this excellent improvement in game performance (not that they’re reading this site, ha ha).

Buildings that drop an item reward directly also seem to have an open box icon, instead of the normal coin icon. Nice to help remember which buildings are useful w/o tapping them all for those of us with gobs of coins.

Really wish this event hadn’t started while I was out of the country, as it’s a very cool event but because of the way the goon queue works it is all but impossible to catch up. I managed to make my way into the top 50K ranks (around 24K when I checked a bit ago), but I don’t think it will be possible in the time left to get into the top 10K and get Don Corleone before the event is over. I just finished the first star of the courtroom, and wish that I had saved my clams for the Judge or Robocop rather than spending them on Mike Tyson, as Luchador masks aren’t a problem but chopsticks really are. 16 bags of money for the 3 star raid? That’s 32 chopsticks, at a rate of slightly less than one an hour.
That said, I’m going strong, if they extend the event I might be able to sneak my way into the top 10K…

The update is doing what it’s supposed to ….but I think I’m weeks behind in the game….need 4 golf balls for Cleveland Jr. ….on first run through Takanawa estate ….. 256,600 on leaderboard….. It’s the best I can do 🍪🍪 ㊙㊗🉐🈺🈳🉑🈵⏩

How are you doing on cookies? Most of the decos are one time bugs but give a good amount of cookies fast. If you get to the end and have some cookies left, but what you can and you will shoot up in the rankings.

So… your App Market (Google, Apple, Amazon) says it is on 1.9.7 when you look at it in the App Market?
The buildings will only show the icons when it is time to collect (normally you would have seen a cookie above it)

Bunny I live on the west coast (PST)
so every time when it comes to being able to upgrade my mansion the clock sows a timer when it gets to 0 the message come back soon, or check back soon,,blah blah yadda yadda, but it is not like for 5-7 hours later that I can upgrade my mansion.
could you possibly give us a breakdown of US time zones compared to TinyCo so we can set our clocks to when we will actually be able to upgrade?
Example, TinyCo is in X time Zone so if you live in Y time zone you can upgrade at XY time of day.
I know I personally would really like to know the precise time that I can log on to upgrade my mansion.

TinyCo is on the west coast, but that doesnt matter. For a while, they refused to put a time into the games because they won’t launch new content until it is ready to go and all last minute checks on it are complete. Players begged that SOME timer be put in. So they put one in, but with the information that it is just an “Approximate” as the release time will vary at anytime AFTER that timer runs down. All I can suggest is to watch our site. Subscribe to the email alerts for new posts and then you will know when we post that new content is live. Outside of that, weekly releases usually hit anywhere from 6-8PM Pacific (TinyCo time) 🙂
End dates are a little different. They are pre-coded in, so usually stop when intended… or when the update to pull it hits your device… which can sometimes give you an hour or so extra.

As a follow up question “Ollieland” allows me to go there and have a chance at collecting a clam every 20 hours, if I had other friends that played this game and I was able to go and visit there towns, would I have a chance a getting a clam from them also?
Or is it once you get a clam from one town that is it until the next 20 hour clock starts.

i have not unlocked mob gal Lois yet – when we update the mansion – will the courtroom be replaced? If so – will it wait until after we unlock Lois to change?I know these are possibly unknown answers – but not sure if tinyco has enlightened you gals a little bit

If it is like the switch out before, they may kick her items to a Character drop instead. I have already voiced my concerns on it. We won’t know more until closer to launch time. It is only 1030AM TinyCo time.

FYI… just checked. You will NOT be able to Upgrade without completing Week 4 requirements… completing the 3 star raids is one of those. So impossible to upgrade and not be able to get Lois’ items.

Well so far I’ve noticed that the game is constantly losing connection every 2 mins and therefore not saving anything I attempt to do. Done. Worst event ever. Never seen issues this bad in an event. Been around since pretty much the beginning of the game.

I have not seen any issues on any of my 5 devices. Android and iOS.
Try some other steps to combat Crashing Issues and if it doesn’t help… report it from your game if you can or email if you can’t.

As with our Addicts Guidelines, feel free to comment on informational and helpful posts… but… if you want to “rant” or “vent” about TinyCo, you will need to take those to the What the Deuce posts. We are NOT TinyCo, so it takes from the hard work we do to use every post we make as an “attack point”. It also helps to keep our “helpful posts” just that… helpful… as other readers don’t have to skim through “books” of complaints when seeking answers to their questions. Not fair to them, not fair to Us. It also keeps our site more to what we want it to be and focus attention on specifics for each post. So please be respectful to us, the Addicts, and stick to our Guidelines when commenting. 😉
Side note: also in our Guidelines… we are human, and have jobs that help to pay for this site to keep it free for all readers… so ALL comments may take time to get to at one point or another. 🙂

Thanks for your reply, Bunny. While I don’t think my “rant” was quite as long as yours was, and not even sure it was a rant, exactly, it’s your website. However, the main point I was trying to make to Steve was that he isn’t alone and that I (as well as many others) have been having connection issues. It seemed like you kind of dismissed him because YOU are not personally have the same issue, so I just wanted him to know he isn’t alone. Let’s hope the new update takes care of that issue. Also, I’m fully aware that you’re not TinyCo, which is why I specifically called TinyCo out in my reply that was deleted and not “Bunny and Alyssa”. By the way, I think the website is great and you ladies do a fantastic job, which can’t be easy with TinyCo constantly screwing up the game! Thanks for the helpful posts.

Sorry you feel that way… I wasn’t dismissing them at all. I in fact helped them out. Gave them a link of things to try and if it didn’t help to make the game play better, I let them know to contact TinyCo. As that is what SHOULD happen. If basics don’t fix an issue, TinyCo needs to be alerted in case there is something else. I also added I was not experiencing it so they know it may be isolated to specific devices and just their game, which again… requires further looking into by TinyCo if basics don’t help. If several players report issues with a specific device, they will know to isolate that device and look into why it is impacted.
We help all we can, and if it is something out of our control… we let players know to reach out to them. Meanwhile… we watch here… if a LOT of readers report the same issue (and/or if we have it) we alert TinyCo tech that an issue is spreading for players.
Again, this is why we try to keep the posts “helpful”. We monitor for issue too. Complaints with the game in the ways they make it, release it, etc… really don’t belong on a helpful post. It doesn’t help us or the readers. Putting it all on What the Deuce allows us to directly focus TinyCo to one spot/ one post to see the complaints instead of “here is our site… you find the needles in the haystack yourself”. Not to mention, we don’t want our site to look like THEIR Facebook page. 😉

Even though I don’t lose connection (at least not visibly with Consuela’s error popup), I very frequently experience that the game doesn’t save actions properly so that they are undone when starting the game next time.

I updated this morning, and I’m annoyed because the update also automatically upgraded my mansion! I had been deliberately not upgrading it until I was done clearing the Takanawa Estate one last time (I wanted the multiplier bonus) and I was literally one hour away from finishing, when the game upgraded my mansion for me and all my progress was lost!! The last two days of tasks and goons to clear all those obstacles have been a waste of time 😦

Sympathies. Same thing happened to me once. Now I’m paranoid about not going anywhere near the mansion around upgrade time to avoid an accidental Tap of Doom. I was within two hours of getting gobs of fedoras when it happened. You probably tapped too close to it or tapped on a button that told the game to upgrade. It’s very easy to do.
