Phase 4 of Comic Con is upon us! Another celebrity has hit our towns and Stewie has changed yet again! App Store Update has hit!
More details are on the way…just as soon as we go through everything ourselves. But for now…as usual…Peter kicks things off for phase 4! (note you have to have completed the Enfant Terrible Part 6 questline for phase 4 to start for you)
Warning Mild Spoilers Ahead
First let’s cover the new stuff….
When you first start the update you’ll go through the tutorial for bombing Stewie’s minions…THEY ARE EVERYWHERE! And can only be stopped by Bombs. Peter kicks off this part in the questline called Bombs Away. Here’s the basic details (As always we’ll have a FULL rundown post of the details in the Stewie Bombs soon):
Once you go through the tutorial you’ll have to reload to enable the full bomb feature in Quahog.
You’ll have to hard close out of your game and go back in to trigger it to reload.
Various tasks will earn more bombs…or (of course) you can spend clams on them and buy more:

Thanks to one of the posters below (sorry can’t find the one I read now) who said tap the minion stewies and they stand still long enough to get a nice shot in. Been getting groups of 8-10. So far I’ve gotten 5 sprinkles for Chris and 4 books for Stan in an hour. Wonder if the chances of these items increase when you kill a bigger group of minion Stewies. Loving the update, so much to do.

I’m really liking this event too, way better than the Full Moon mess, but then again, without it they would not have learned how to improve on the game. My current record is 10, but I’m shooting for a new high score. I found a sweet ambush corner in my town. I can see them coming down three pathways, I just stack them up and BOOM! Yes….I need help! XD

I think 10 is max. I tried it severeal times but some of them just walking along though I hit them right into their faces 🙂
I got 213/300 so far, and I slept about 6 hours until now^^
What helps me a lot: I made a small maze out of bushes in the mid of the map, other buildings hugging each other all over the map.
So if a Minion Stewie wants to wander around, it either has to go into every edge of the whole map or just walk right through the middle and.. also through the maze 😉 got like 6-8 in there every time (I was nearly out of Stewies 2hours after patch launched^^), with a bit tapping quite 10-15 Stewies. Hope this helps 🙂

Sten, it is really easy, the blue nerds drop bombs all the time, lots of characters have short tasks to earn bombs. You can tap on the lil Brats and keep them still until more come walking up then drop a bomb on them. I’m averaging around 7 per bomb. I already am almost half way there and I’ve only been playing a little here and there because I’m answering the comments tonight. You’ll get it Buddy and I know you’ll just love this new Phase. 😉

Very easy to do. You’ll have no troubles. I started last night and had my characters start collecting bombs. I have dropped maybe 24 or 25 bombs and have already eliminated 95 minions and still have until monday at 830ET is when my time is up.
Also, it is great cause I have 3 books, 4 camera and 1 notebook just from minion stewies. Weird thing is it says to get notebooks you need to do a Lois task, but I got one for killing a minion so who knows.

Alright guys just a quickie when I vanquish giant stewie for the last time in the quest does he disappear forever? My final pesticide challenge is a 29 one I have 22 with 5 hours to go so if i don’t get to 29 I will have wasted a lot of clams/pesticide/time.

He is here for the remainder of the event. Don’t go for the 29 pesticide “vanquish” (it’s Blam per pesticide ratio is terrible). Let the timer run out, collect more during that time and then run your streak up to the 18 “can” 25X mark only each time and repeat. 🙂

Shot! 12 minions from 1 bomb. Build a set of double cross roads. 2 roads across and 1 running through to make a giant H, tap your minions so they ink over and over untill you have 10+ sat there then bomb the middle of the H and you will get high minion for bomb count. If you make sure there are no building near you can get a nice big group going. 6 bombs dropped and 62 minions killed in 2 hours. Hope this helps

Mine is in front of the comic con area so i can get my nerds aswel as build high numbers. The minions are a good blam earner. My avg minion to bomb is 10-1 so erning between 150 and 250 per bomb and doing a bomb every 10 mins so im getting at least 900 blam per hour then add in nerds and chars so id say around 950 a hour. 100k dont look so hard now for freemium android players such as myself. 41k total so far and i only got red hot yesterday lunch

Found the update this morning (about 3h ago), and since then have bombed only 46 minions. The most in one shot was 9, the least 3. Darn things keep scurrying away…
Does anyone know what the spawn rate is? And how many max at any one time? I gather you can zap more if more are running around.

Keep tapping on them to make them stand still, then more and more will walk up. Then tap on them all one last time, aim, shot Boom….you’ll be averaging 7 to 10 every shot. We don’t know the spawn rate or cap, but I know I haven’t run out of them yet. I’m almost at the halfway point. This car challenge should be a breeze for everyone once they start it. 😉

Removing your roads doesn’t work. 😦
But what does is tapping them. They will stay still and squirt ink at you. And keep tapping enough of them as they get in the area and once you get a nice number of them quickly go to bomb mode and blast them to smithereens!!

Slightly embarrassed but where can I click to get bomb target to appear? Can’t find anywhere. I clicked on minions but they taunt me…. They need to be bombed! 😝

It will appear right next to the zapper icon at the bottom of the screen. It will show you how many bombs you have. If it’s not there yet, tap on the car challenge icon in the task bar pop up. This will also call up the sighting scope. 🙂

The Super Joe outfit? My guess is, it won’t come until the end of the event. Here’s why; it can’t help with the event because the iOS players would be upset (Golden Suit Peter never helps with events) and if it doesn’t help, Android players will be upset. So to keep both groups semi-happy, it will release at the end. Now, this is just one of my “wild” guesses that I love to freely throw out. 😉

My theory is that they will release him with 14 days to go. Ios had 4 blam earning people for 1 week more then andriod. Event costumes earn double blam. So 1 double blam earning char for 2 weeks is the same as 4 standard blame chars for 1 week. Then android and ios have a unique costume each and the same blam earning potential

They still just wander everywhere. I removed most of my streets to make it easier to tap nerds. They have a circle track in front of the Comic Con main area (this is an older picture, Geeks are now gone). 🙂

Don’t have the update yet (on Kindle) but looking down the information, am I correct in thinking that there isn’t any immediate new reason to save up batteries? I stopped using them a few days ago when the huge battery packs went on sale, in anticipation of them being needed for some new game mechanic. Looking at this, I’m thinking I may as well start using them again?

I just thought – do the latcher Stewies drop anything needed re: Bombs, Stan Lee items, or do they simply continue to drop pesticide?
On the subject of pesticide, the celebrity/superhero tasks switched to say “Rare” instead of “Always” yesterday, though so far without the update they’re continuing to drop as before. Does the update change things so they actually ARE rare drops now? Or do they still drop pesticides every time?

That was a wording glitch that popped up, they all still drop “always”. The Latcher Stewies still drop the things they dropped before, but mostly pesticides. 🙂

Excellent, thanks for the info. I’ve been earning 5.2k Blam per day from Giant Stewie, plus whatever extra I get from tasks and other buildings. If they haven’t gimped the pesticide drops, I should be able to unlock the Stewie Factory by the end of tomorrow or early Saturday, and George Takei by the middle of next week! Can’t wait for this update to hit Kindle so I can get started unlocking Stan the Man.

Well, I’m gutted. I waited out on the Enfant Terrible quest line and I’ve now been made to pay the price. I have a day to wait to build the fab 4 headquarters (a building I didn’t want which is why I’ve laid off this quest), plus the subsequent quests that require me defeating giant Stewie (which with my stash is gonna take at least two days). In the meantime, what can I do to prepare for this phase? Is there anything else I could build that needs building later on or…? So disappointed 😦

No…you’ll get all the bombs you need once you trigger the event. The car challenge timer will trigger later so you’re fine. Also there are some glitches that are being worked on, once you start the Phase it will be smooth sailing for you. Just keep collecting those pesticides and get that quest done. You’ll be fine and bombing lil Stewies before you know it. 😉

Love the latest update. I got Felicia yesterday and I have just got Red Hot tonight. And finally got my last sundae to make Blobulous! I’ve only managed to bomb 60 minions so far. I think the ComicCon event is pretty good. I have not bought clams and I’m still able to get the characters and costumes unlocked (except Bryan Cranston…lol). I doubt I get enough blam for George Takei though. But it’s a good game that I play for free and I feel I’ve been able to get plenty of stuff without clams so I’m happy. Really ready to get Quagmire’s multiplier suit and have the group complete. Good job TinyCo 🙂

Hey Guys,
Just to let you know, there is a glitch with Minion Stewie, they don’t always die from a bomb, even with a direct hit. From what I can see if they’re performing an action, ie, they’ve stopped to ink or you’ve just tapped on them, that’s when they don’t die. Also if you tap on a bunch to collect them in one area and hit a crowd with a bomb sometimes some just disappear without counting as kills or giving reward sometimes none die… I’ve raised a ticket but it’s worth spreading the news because I bought a few bombs and feel I’ve wasted them…

Sorry if this has been noted but I’m also getting bombs from the blue nerds, all the time. I always get one that drops a bomb plus Balm!. Also minion Stewies are also dropping clams once bombed plus Balm! I’ve also found the best trick to bomb the minion’s is to tap on a group of them and bomb them without zooming in. The blast radios seems larger when you are fully zoomed out therefore increasing the amount of minion’s you hit.

I am having a hard time with bombing minion Stewies. It is very gitchy and Stewies that are obviously in crosshairs it is saying that they were not there and I do not get credit for them. Very annoying. Not impressed at all.

There are a few having this issue. It could be a memory issue effected by so much animation on the screen. Make sure no other apps are running in the background and are all closed before opening the game. It plays perfectly on my iPad 4 when it’s the only thing running, but a little laggy/glitchy when I have forgotten to close TSTO or other games/apps still open. 🙂

I only spent the 10$ for the clam deal during this event and did not purchase Bryan Cranston or any other Blam! earning merchandise. I am at 42 k, most of which has been earned in the past week. I still have 217 clams left over from the purchase. Very reasonable to achieve the 100k depending on what day you started. I have a desk job and have alerts set up on my tablet so that makes a difference as well. I’ve been blasting the audio around and coworkers are getting a kick out of it. I’m addicted to Blam! … better than meth I suppose 😉

Something I’ve noticed. (Unless I’m just going crazy.) It seems the spawn rate of the Blue Nerds has been lowered when the game is closed. (Closed it for like 30-40 minutes, only had six upon return.) HOWEVER, they still spawn 3 at the regular 7.5 minutes when it’s open. Hmmm…

A tip I discovered for getting many Stewies with a single bomb. When you see a bunch of stewies in the explosion radius, click on them before you bring up your bomb sights. They freeze and squirt ink giving you time to get more for each shot!

Bombs and bombing minion Stewie are incredibly glitchy and not really fun. Many of my bombs don’t credit and many Stewies that are clearly in the crosshairs don’t detonate. Hey TinyCo, you may have a big fail on your hands. Maybe you should stop trying to do too much? All of this plus trying to unlock characters is way too much.

Sorry to hear you’re having troubles in your game. Send TinyCo a message from within your game. I have now literally read hundreds of comments. Except for a few that can’t even play the event, it has been mostly positive feedback. Maybe when the bugs get worked out in your game you’ll like it more, or maybe not. Not all elements are going to be enjoyed by all players (I’m not a big fan of the zapper). 🙂

I have a bug where quagmire is in the furry dungeon having completed a task but it has a latcher Stewie on it. When I try to zap it thr game freezes. The gun moves as if firing but no beam comes out and then the only way to get rid of it is to hard close the game. Anyone else had this kind of problem?

Just an fyi I got a message from tinyco about this glitch and to help make it better they made it so the latchers will move every 4 hrs now. They have not fixed the problem but at least made it so yoh dont have to wait 8 hrs.

For those of you struggling to get sundaes, try defeating Giant Stewie with the pesticides and then in the 30 seconds it takes for him to re-spawn, quickly go around and zap your latchers. When giant Stewie is re-spawning the game thinks you have no need for pesticides,meaning the latchers won’t drop you any as rewards. It doesn’t necessarily improve the probability of a sundae dropping, but it does limit the amount of possible reward outcomes, as you’ll basically get either a sundae as a reward or no reward just the normal Blam and Xp. It worked pretty well for me. Got at least 4 of my sundaes using this method.

I got 2 out of my first 30, and the 3rd and final around 70. Sounds like a simple case of bad luck.
But with so many chances for them to drop its really just a matter of time until you have Bobulous blobbing it up in your Quahog.

what the heck, so I had the problem of nothing happening after clicking “bombs away” button (yes i’ve completed tutorials, etc) I tried force closing the game and reopening but still was unable to bomb stewies. Now I uninstall/reinstall and I’m stuck in loading screen.

So I went through the tutorial and it let me bomb, collected a couple of bombs since and when I click on spider stewie it says I need bombs.
There’s no bomb count anywhere. How do I bring up the bombing from now on?

It will be an icon on the bottom of the screen next to the zapper battery count icon (it doesn’t show up immediately). You can also call it up by tapping the “collect 300” task on the car challenge task icon in the task bar pop up.

I’m going crazy not being able to play. My game crashed 6 hours ago and won’t re-open. Tinyco won’t even give me an eta. I’m guessing they’re based in America and are all asleep. I’ve un-installed twice but it still won’t open. This is my only game and my only respite from the real world. If this takes any longer I may have to resort to actual human interaction.

I am in love with this update! I was still annoyed with having been locked out of my game for days and then being so far behind on blam, but the Stewie minions got me red hot Lois and I am now almost caught up to where I should have been if there was no bug that locked players out! Thank you TinyCo. Keep up the great work. And thank all of you at Family Guy Addicts for all your help and tips.

I’m finding it easy to get bunches of minions by tapping on them to stop them for about 2-3 seconds and tapping others as they come by to keep them still. As soon as I get about 5-7 together I hit the bomb button and drop. Been getting at least 6 per and best was 9. Hope this helps.

I have a glitch on a quest that just says bomb minion stewies and his has a check mark like I finished it but it wont clear. I sent an in game message about it but I wanted to see if anyone else is having the problem and if they were able to get it to clear.

This glitch is only effecting a small group of players right now. We have notified TinyCo. They are working on several problems currently. Try the standard trouble shooting steps and also send a message letting them know you are having this issue so they can track it and peek into your game. 🙂

I’m stuck here too… Have killed 148 minions, but the task won’t clear. Sent an in-game message, but haven’t heard back yet.

You may not hear back for a few days (they can take up to 72 hours). They are aware of the problems and are actively working on them. Just be patient, I know that can be hard at times like these, but you’ll be right back into the fun in no time. 🙂

If anyone is having an issue where starting the minion quests force closes, tie your account to email or social media then uninstall and reinstall. Once you reset the game you’ll have to do the first few quests over, but then you can access your old account. Worked for me and now i am once again loving this event. Im a bad shot but its still a lot of fun.

The minion Stewies are extremely helpful. I have already shot 100 of the little buggers and my blam total has raised from around 29000 to over 32000 since the update.

The special prize is actually a jet. You’ll get there. You’ll need to bomb 300 Minion Stewies, but most are finding it quite easy.

hey a friend of my is having problems updating to the comic con event he is running the game on a kindle the store doesn’t give me the option to update game what should he do?

Interesting. So he plays on Kindle. And for whatever reasons he NEVER got Comic Con into his town. Not from day one? Am I understanding that right?
If that is indeed the case, please have them make sure they first link their account to an email or FB to save their game play. Then, once it is linked go ahead and uninstall and reinstall the app. If after logging back into their account they STILL don’t get the option…then yes…contact TinyCo.
(I am not sure if you have to be at a certain point in the game too. Do you know what level they are on? Districts opened?)

Found out he is only on level 5 could that be the reason why comic con hasn’t showen up he on a level too low?

It’s based off of districts. I believe you have to be at the end of District 2 or into District 3 to get it to trigger…
