The Christmas update is NOT, I repeat NOT live in our games…yet. Right not they are doing some testing on it to make sure the 1.5 version is going OK. So a small amount of you will see the update hit your app markets.
Again, this is JUST prep work/testing. So those that get it will ONLY see the icon, Splash Screen, and snow in town. NO tasks, NO items, NO event. We will post more when it goes live.
Well…that is unless we fall asleep waiting for it to hit. It HAS been a very long day for both of us. Lol
So hang in there. We’ll get the info out when we can.

Ok guys this is just like Halloween…you have to earn Cookiees to buy stuff (like Spirit vials) AND you have Holiday Cheer (like Fright points). You also have the ability to craft/create gifts at Santa’s Workshop (like the cauldron). So you guys should know a lot of the drill by now…
This event is very Lois heavy in the beginning. And a lot of short tasks that you should progress through quickly. The stopping point will come when you craft your first gift, which will take an hr. And then you’ll have another task to build the Quahog Mall, which will take 4hrs to build. If you’re looking to rest tonight…that might be your best stopping point….

Quahog Mall- 50 Gingerbread. 4hr Build. Chance to drop the Star needed for Sexy Santa Lois. Also Earns 8 Gingerbread and 1 Holiday Cheer/4hrs.
Gingerbread Shack- 100 Clams. Always drops 50 Gingerbread/4hrs. Also drops 5 Holiday Cheer.

Note: It looks like TinyCo has learned from Halloween…and you cannot repair the Train Station until the task triggers. Progress through quiet a bit of the main questline and then the quest will trigger. Be patient.. 🙂

Sexy Santa Lois starts once you’ve started the Naughty or Nice quest….(this happens around Part 6 or 7 of Miracle on Spooner Street) Here’s what you’ll need to unlock her:

Brian’s family is coming to Quahog! And Jasper can be found at the Quahog Train Station….BUT be WARNED. Once you repair the train station you only have 7 Days to Unlock him! So DO NOT repair the train station until you’re ready.
Here’s what you’ll need to unlock Jasper:
Happy Greek- Get the Happy Greek From a Holiday Gift Box
Dance Studio- Get the Dance Studio From a Striped Gift Box
Cheer Stage- Get the Cheer Stage from a Striped Gift Box.

Squatters
There are two types of Squatters with the event…Snowmen and Mall Santa’s (and apparently CIA Agents, as they’re still roaming the streets of my Quahog!)
Snowmen
Just tap them and they’ll go away. Plus you’ll earn event currency!
Mall Santa’s
For these you will need Sexy Santa Lois and/or Jasper to clear. Each Mall Santa takes 2hrs to clear and earns you 10 Gingerbread and 2 Holiday Cheer. Plus the chance for a doll to drop!

Collect Holiday Cheer to upgrade your Christmas tree! The bigger the tree/cheer the more Squatters will come to Quahog! (Mall Santa’s and Snowmen)
And yes…as of right now there are Clam rewards when you reach a new Level. Follow along with The Cheer Squad questline to earn clams for reaching cheer levels!
Secret Santa…
For the first time during a TQFS Event there’s a Social Element to it! (Remember the only way to have friends in this game is via Facebook. And if you’re looking for friends check out our Add Me Thread here.)
You can leave a Secret Santa Gift for a neighbor…and they’ll get rewards for it and you’ll get a chance for Clams! (and rewards too!)
Below is from the in game FAQs. This will explain it better than I can at 3:30 am…
How does Social Gifting work?
Bonnie can create Secret Santa Gifts by performing the “Wrap a Gift” action. You’ll be able to see how many Secret Santa Gifts you have by viewing the counter on the Multiverse button.
When you visit an eligible friend’s Quahog, you’ll see a button on the top right corner of the screen with the number of Secret Santa Gifts you own. If you tap on it, you’ll leave your friend a box that they can open to receive wonderful prizes. You can gift each friend one gift box each day.
Whenever you give a friend a Secret Santa Gift, you’ll also receive Christmas Cookies and a chance for clams!
How do I open Secret Santa Gifts?
When you receive a Secret Santa Gift, you’ll see a message telling you to open the box by your Christmas tree. To open it, tap on the box!
You can open one Secret Santa Gift per day. If you receive more than one box per day, you’ll be able to open another after 24 hours have passed.
Santa’s Wish List…
Fulfill various wishes (usually via the Crafting part) to unlock Santa for your Quahog!
How do I use the Christmas Wishlist?
Tap on Santa’s Sleigh to access the Christmas Wishlist. You can fulfill wishes by collecting the items that characters have asked for. Fulfilling a wish unlocks a new Christmas action for that character.
How do I get Santa?
If you complete every wish on the Christmas Wishlist, you’ll receive Santa!
District 10…
You’ll notice it’s there…but it’s locked! The land is smokey and you can’t access it just yet. It’s coming soon…so be patient and enjoy Christmas! 🙂

So far, it looks like this is going to be a fun event. Please allow me to make a few observations. The loading and connectivity problems are more frequent. Could this be due the large amount of content in this update? Think constantly falling snow.
I believe that we are going to see another minion type challenge. Think elves. The black cave like structure next to Santa’s sleigh is the give away to me.
The Secret Santa gifting is a nice concept. But this is a disadvantage to the gamers who do not want strangers on their Facebook accounts, or have no desire to join Facebook.

He usually parks it at the North Pole, but sometimes those pesky reindeer sneak it out for a “joy ride” and it ends up flying round the farm areas and they pick up some random people…then they realize people can see them…so they try to pass if off as a UFO sighting….

getting anoyed with tinyco the game will not load past the tinyco screen, its just a black screen, but on my slow and very underpowered htc desirehd it loads, but then its totaly unplayable once logged in.

Still getting a black screen 😦 I have been playing this game since the comiccon event on the andy emulator as my phone is to slow to run the game in a populated town. I really dont know what they have done with this new build but it looks like i wont be able to play the Christmas event.

There is no reason why they should stop people from using an emulator.
The game could be run in a browser or via a windows/mac app. i did find that the game ran better via an emulator and having a larger screen was very usefull. perhaps tinyco can think about bringing the game to the windows/mac platform for those that do not have tablets/smartphones.

Okay… So I downloaded the update this AM, everything worked fine, I set tasks etc. happy days! But now my game won’t load! I keep getting a ‘cant connect to server’ error. My interweb is working fine (my ability to post this comment being testament to that)… So I guess what I’m asking is… Is anyone else experiencing the same problem?

i have a beautiful ice skatin pond and christmas decorations for the drunken clam so far out of the first christmas box. it’s probably a glitch but you can speed up the time for 0 clams once it is down to 10 min.😊 i am happy about that as well. clearing land to build my mall. it should be done tomorrow. i am really enjoying this event!

If you want to see the wish list, use your task menu on the side to go to it. Santa is hanging out over in the Christmas area.

As always when tiny co release a new update it’s going to have its bugs and glitches so be patient ppl!!! Give it a day or so. I barely post, but I do have to say, Tiny co. Has really outdone themselves on this one!!! The town look so pretty covered in snow! And with the snow falling… I’m in LOVE😍

Wow! Very buggy ATM. Free boom box from Summer event available in store. Got Koolaid man roaming around my town and the quests that go with it. I find it hard to believe that this is intentional. Anyone else seeing this.

I keep getting the connection issues. There was a boombox in my store that says to collect candy for pink Brian costume. When I place there is a built hammer. When I collect the game crashes. I put it down without hitting the finish hammer and a ! Popped up for Chris. Clicked it and quest to be Kool-aid mans assistant pops up. Kool-aid man shows up and I clicked him and he dropped a cherry but it did not go towards anything. WTH is going on in Quahog.

It’s a shame about the connectivity, I really liked the start of the event and thought it would be quite fun, especially as this would be my first big event on the game, I joined at the end of Halloween. I just unlocked District 6, getting messages about District 7 being open but it is not(for me I mean). I have saved up a lot of coins but I wanted to get the District 6 characters and some buildings, to get S&M Lois and now Sexy Santa Lois. It’s going to take a while to do all of this, and with the connection problems it will take longer.

That has happened to me a few times as well. If you click on prizes then open me you may get the error one or two more times but it will eventually open.

some of the halloween event chars have tasks which give you gingerbread men and holiday cheers, for example the predator (hide in the jungle,24 h, 50 gbm, 10 hc), freddy krueger (grill shishkabobs, 12 h, 50 gbm, 10 hc), jason vorhees (preparing murder, 12 h, 50 gbm, 10 hc), mr. weed (ghost-write auto-biography, 24 h, 50 gbm, 10 hc), halloween consuela (remember her abuela, 24 h, 50 gbm, 10 hc) 🙂

This sucks! I can’t even play the game because I can’t connect to the server, and I’m wonder if this is an error on my iPad. Ever since I update to the new iOS my iPad has been giving me connection trouble. If it’s not my iPad and is actually their server with the issue will they give us more time to complete the task in this event?

Got weird glitch(?) this morning when I just checked my game. It states the platform for the Blimp and Kool-Aid Man’s Boom Box are new, but a can’t place them in my Quahog. Everywhere I try to place the Platform it won’t even on water.
When I place the new Boom Box (I still have old one out) it disappears after placement. I did start a quest line involving Chris helping and there’s a 24 hour timer involving Kool-Aid man, who I already have. The description for the Boom Box mentions Pink Brian.
I don’t have a clue what’s going on.

So my game has a weird glitch in the shop, there are different types of elves for sale at 1 coin each… the icon for them is actually a slimer in the shop, the Kool aid boombox is also for sale at 1 coin, I bought a lot of the elves and they are running around everywhere some normal elves and a bunch of reindeer ones.

So, now that both TSTO and FGQFS have got their Christmas events going, I’m going to have vote for TSTO as having the better of the 2.
I’ve been playing both games since the beginning and I’ve gotta say that I’m still having a really hard time with the obvious, in-your-face, cash-grabbing antics of QFS. I mean, 100 clams for the Christmas Griffin House?! Really?! The 1st Christmas event that TO did had Christmas facades that were purchased with event currency NOT premium currency. In fact, in this year’s event, only 2 items are purchasable with premium currency in TO (177 donuts) compared to 7 items in QFS (1500 clams).
Then there’s the appearance. QFS has snow, sure, but not on the buildings, decorations, roads, etc. They basically just palette swapped the green grass for white show but didn’t bother to do the same for buildings and decos that have green grass parts to the them. TO on the other hand feels way more Christmassy since everything in town is covered with snow.
Overall I’d say that TO gets a 10/10 while QFS gets just a 4/10. The only decent event so far has been comic-con and even then I’d still only give it an 8/10.

Agree 100%. I’m guessing the reason behind limited snow decorations is their servers can’t handle all the graphic data needed to display it. Anyone that has played Tiny Village knows graphics have always been a big issue with TinyCo.

I somehow seem to have the boom box as a new building(!) for free in order to “unlock the exclusive pink Brian costume”(from halloween!?).is that a glitch or did they make a comeback for those who couldn’t unlock him before?cause,personally,I couldn’t during Halloween not having reached his district at the time.
