As Christmas has arrived in our Tiny Quahogs…everyone has lots of questions regarding what to do and when. We do try to answer each one individually, but I thought everyone could benefit from the answers to these questions. So it’s time for another addition of Addicts Question Corner….
My Train Station Is Not Showing I Can Repair It, Is It Broken?
Most likely it’s NOT broken. You have to unlock Sexy Santa Lois first. Once you unlock her then a quest will trigger to get Jasper.
How Do I Unlock Jasper, He’s Not In My Game. Is My Game Broken?
No. You’ll find Jasper once you’ve repaired the train station. In order to repair the Train Station you’ll need to have Sexy Santa Lois. Once you’ve gotten Sexy Santa Lois a quest trigger, Make the Yuletide Gay. That task triggering is the ONLY way to get the Train Station to need “repair” and find Jasper. Until that point you cannot do anything with it.
Can I Collect the items for Jasper BEFORE Finding Him?
Yes. You can collect the 3 buildings needed for Jasper before starting to repair the train station.
I Accidentally Started Repairing the Train Station, But I’m not Ready To Trigger Jasper’s Timer. If I Don’t Click the Check Mark Will That Delay The Timer From Starting?
Yes. The timer (which is 7 days) will not start until you “find” Jasper at the Train Station. So if you leave the check mark there the timer won’t start.
Where Do I Get the Items For Jasper?
You craft them in the Gift boxes. See this post for more.
Where Do I Get the Items for the Wish List?
You craft the items in the gift boxes. See this post for more. Remember…not every prize is available yet as some boxes will open later in the event.
Do I Need to Have the Characters Unlocked To Get the Wish List Items For Them?
No. You just need to get the prize in the gift box…but you do not have to have the character to get them.
The Drop Rates For Dolls Are INSANE.
Yes…yes they are. And just about everyone here agrees with you on that. Our suggestion is to contact TinyCo and ask them (nicely) to see if they’ll add another character/task to help get Dolls.
After writing this post (and telling TinyCo about ALL of your complaints…) the drop rates have been changed. This is on TinyCo’s Facebook:
HOWEVER…in my game they’re still not dropping 100% of the time. So it could take a little bit for it to update in your game. Try hard closing and restarting your game, so it refreshes. If that doesn’t work..be patient and let it hit your game. If you don’t see the 100% drop rate by tomorrow morning (TinyCo time..so 9am PST) then contact them and let them know you’re not seeing it.
Do I Need Both Sexy Santa Lois AND Jasper To Clear Mall Santas?
No. I know the image is a big confusing because it says Lois + Jasper to clear Mall Santas…but you only need 1 to do it. So you can have Lois clear the Santa’s before unlocking Jasper & once you get Jasper you can then have him help as well.
What Are the Drop Rates for Mall Santa’s/Snowmen?
TinyCo will not release this information. From what we’re seeing…it varies all over the place, so I don’t think there’s a set formula for it.
Stan Has An Ice Skating Task…but It Says It Requires Stars and Stripes, Will They Be Bringing That Back?
Stars and Stripes was from the 4th of July mini event. Per TinyCo it is intentional that he goes there to skate. So unfortunately, if you don’t have Stars and Stripes you won’t have that extra gift earning task.
I Don’t Have Any Facebook Friends, Will Ollie Still Send Me Secret Santa Gifts or Was 1 It?
Per TinyCo…Ollie will give you more gifts each time up upgrade the tree.
How Many Secret Santa Gifts Can I Get Per Day?
1 gift every 24hrs. If you get other gifts sent to you they’ll go into a queue & when the 24hr period is up it’ll feed you gifts from the queue. And Yes…Ollie’s gift does count toward your daily limit.
I’m Not Getting Secret Santa Gifts, Even Though I KNOW My Friend/Spouse/Partner etc Sent One To Me.
We’ve asked TinyCo About this….currently there are no known glitchs with getting gifts. So it’s possible your timer just hasn’t reset yet (remember Ollie’s gift counts as 1 of the gifts for a 24hr period). If you know it’s been longer than 24hrs with out a gift…try hard closing the app and restarting the game. As they advise it can take a little while to get the gift to appear. If that does not work…then your next step is to contact TinyCo and let them know you’re impacted by it.
How Can I Find/Add Friends For This Event?
Currently the only way to do this is via Facebook. You can find friends on our Add Friends Feed here.
I Didn’t Get A Prize In my Gift Box!
This is direct from the in-game FAQ’s: “If you’re playing on Android, pressing the back button while opening the Gift Box will cancel the animation but the prize will always be awarded to your inventory . If you’ve won a building or decoration, it will be placed at the very end of your inventory. Materials you’ve won will be reflected in your item count.
If you experience a crash while opening the Gift Box, don’t worry! Similarly, the prize will always be awarded to your inventory. If you can’t find a new building or decoration in your inventory, check your item counts for new materials.”
Also…when checking your inventory make sure you check the ENTIRE thing, as many gifts will be towards the end of the list.
Will the Characters/Outfits Go Away After The Event Ends?
Direct from the in-game FAQ: “Any characters or outfits you have completely unlocked will be yours to keep after the event ends. If a character or outfit is not unlocked by the time the event ends, they will disappear for good.”
Will You Have A Post Coming On……?
We’re currently working on a TON of posts for you guys. Between TQFS and the Event in TSTO Bunny and I are working double time trying to cover everything as best we can. (so forgive us if we call clams donuts or vice versa) More specific details will be coming in various posts…and we thank you so much for being patient as we get all the details out to you (remember…we still have to play the event ourselves to figure it all out). I don’t normally complain about timers. If I’m too click happy to read the instructions, then I consider that my fault. However, I DID read the instructions and no where did it say Jasper had 7 days to unlock. I could’ve kept collecting dolls with sexy Lois if I knew that.

Regarding the doll drop rate. Per TinyCo. message this is not “until….” However as soon as I got Jasper Sexy Lois has stopped dropping them. Recommended troubleshooting tips had no effect.

Im at cheer level 2, but it won’t let me upgrade my tree?!

If you tap ON the tree, you will notice you can’t upgrade until the new phase is ready. The timer tells you how much longer.

The Stan skating task is confusing, it clearly shows the icon for the skating pond and in the show Stan would sneak off to a frozen pond/lake to practice. I do have the building from July but it’s odd that the skating pond can’t be used for skating, it is a nice looking decoration.

I just have to say that you guys are so awesome and wonderful at keeping us up to date with recent changes to the game!! Thanks for the heads up about the dolls. I was starting to get concerned because I started my timer as soon as the train station built and I have no buildings for Jasper yet. Hopefully, this will help.
I do have a question though, when I try to visit my neighbors (which I have a ton of thanks to the add neighbors post!) I visit one or two then my game closes. It’s happening on my fiances game too. Is this happening to anyone else and should I contact Tiny Co?

Could be a connection issue. You can try force closing the game, log out of your Facebook app on your device, restart phone, log back into facebook app, and relaunch the app.
If still nothing, try again.

I never got my North Pole sign after earning it. I contacted TinyCo and they promptly placed it in my inventory. Additionally they also credited me back 75 clams for the Quagmire Halloween Decorations (after I initially paid 100 clams). Amazing customer support at TinyCo!

I must be way addicted because I’m ahead of things. I’m almost on cheer level 4 and completed all the walk throughs except I’m still trying to get Jasper – I activated him too early. Then I thought I’d never get the dolls I needed, so I reluctantly bought the orphanage. Then they change the drop rate for mall Santas to 100%! Now I wish I hadn’t wasted my clams…

Exactly! Once again, TinyCo has folded to the pressure of the non-paying people and changed the rules in the middle of the game without any indication of even a small reimbursement for those who forked over clams for Lucky’s. Why do they always treat their PAYING customers with such utter contempt? I’ve never seen a company that treats their freemium customers better than their paying ones. Lucky’s is now virtually useless, especially since the so-called animation sucks big time.

Write them an ingame message and see what happens. I wrote them a polite message saying I would’ve never bought it if I knew the drop rates would change and requested they take it back and refund me. I can’t say it will work for everyone, but they refunded me 200 clams AND let me keep Lucky’s! 🙂

I am glad they changed it. I spent 2 days sending lois on mall santa task and I only got to open a striped box last night. Guess what….boyfriend 3000. no items for unlocking jasper. so basically I still need another at least 10 dolls to get the 2 buildiings. at the new rate I should have 2 more tries by tonight. I have 4-5 days left on my jasper timer. so it seems I may have enough time to unlock him.
if TC did not change the timer, I probably would have had to drop 200 clams close to the end of the timer to get jasper. I was so upset with the drop rate, I did not want to use clams though.
however, due to tiny co’s constant customer service being so dedicated to its players an showing how well they appreciate their players, I am going out today to buy a iTunes GC and I am dropping the entire GC on clams. They deserve it 🙂 Great job TC !!!! awesome customer service.

The extras come from when YOU drop the gift. As soon as you tap that button to drop it in Ollie’s or a Neighbor, you will see materials spit out. Cookies, Holiday Cheer, and possibly Clams. Details coming on this really soon.

It is TOTALLY worth in my opinion. Especially if she is done earning dresses for lois. I have left people gifts 4 times now and out if that i had 3 of the gifts give ME clams! Two clams everytime so ive earned 6 clams just for giving gifts. You’ll need bonnie for some questlines once in a while tho so i suggest you take a peak at the walkthroughs this amazing site provides us this way you can budget your time accordingly for her 🙂 Anyway. YES. Worth it. 😀
P.s. I would just make sure bonnie is free thursday afternoon/evening for the next event phase. It is a safe bet she will be needed for collecting/tasks/ect. 🙂

I feel like I’m falling behind. I’m at Cheer Level 2 and such, but I feel like the gingerbread currency is really hard to come by this event. I was makin’ it rain with Blam!, but now I feel like I never have enough for the next thing.

Don’t stress it. It JUST started. You have an entire month of this event. Just stay a steady pace. Send all characters you have on tasks to help out. See what works out best for you on what to focus on. 😉

I actually find gingerbread to be extremely easy to get I have about 12000 with all characters, items and buildings already bought and all gifts made so I’m just collecting and saving for the next update of the Christmas event, plus it can’t hurt to have lots of they do one of those mystery box things at the end again

Good news about the Doll drop rate. Crafted 1 present(got Snowy McBurgertown) but now I’m pretty much guaranteed to unlock Jasper in 2 more days at the worst with plenty of time to spare on his timer.

Isn’t really a xmas question but is definitely something I’m interested to know- is there a list of buildings needed for character tasks? I wanna store as many as I can but wanna leave out ones needed. Thanks for all the help ladies!

That is…well…kinda impossible as it is constantly changing. Lol. Best thing is to honestly just look at the characters themselves. They usually list under the task “***** Required”

I thought that they must have changed the drop rates on the dolls, after only getting a few over the weekend, they’ve been dropping everytime I clear a Mall Santa. I’ve got Jasper, Sexy Santa Lois, and all prizes from the Holiday Gift Box, and only need one more from the Stripped Gift Box. I’m really enjoying the event so far, and love the Wish List, and can’t wait for Jesus to show up.

I have noticed that you will get Santa after completing his list. If you look at the making of gifts tab it makes me want to believe that there will be an Abminable Snowman. What happened to the Grinch Chicken? If Haloween had the bad guys for a collection what do you think this events optional facespace collection will consist of? I speculate thatChristmas Elves will make an apperance.

I think your are right about the elves. At the start of the event, a glitch happened in my game and I had 4 ‘demented elves’ rocking round my town haha. They look awesome but did notthing at the time so had to report to TinyCo. Still in my inventory though with a pic of slimers a** instead of them. Haha.

I know plenty of people are happy about the doll drop rate, but as a fremium player who carefully weighed the situation and saw purchasing the orphanage as a significant advantage, I now feel totally cheated as the “value” it once held for me is now completely diminished. Yes, I get I still earn them faster, but I would have NEVER purchased it if I knew the rare drop rate would go away. I emailed tinyco asking them to take it back and refund me my carefully saved 200 clams but I’m not holding my breath. Bah Humbug! 😔

They have done this several times and not one time have they refunded anything. Any time they either remove a deadline or decrease the rarity of a drop, they stick it to the people who open their wallets. And they simply don’t care. Like, at a policy level. my interactions with CS have run the gamut, but requests for refunds due to TC making changes that diminish the value of the purchase were always very cold and very final. Best to just chalk it up to the cost of playing a freemium game.

Actually I’m very happy to report that I wrote them a nice email requesting they take Lucky’s back and refund me my clams and the lovely people at Tinyco wrote me back saying they normally don’t do it but they were refunding me. Got my 200 clams back and they left me the orphanage! Can’t say it will work for everyone, but as it’s the first time I contacted support I was very happy with the outcome!

I just added two people to facebook for the game, but they do not appear in my friend list, is only Ollie and two guys that left the game at level 5, so, what do I have to do to see the my new “friends” ? Re install the game? o r something?

Try deleting those not playing anymore from your Facebook. Also try to delete and readd the new ones. Beyond that, you might have to relink your Facebook account

It means you’re available to upgrade to 2 when it hits. I know it’s kinda confusing…but it’s just how they show it.

Great and helpful post guys! Thanks! I wonder if they will reduce the timer of the orphanage now that they upped the chances of getting dolls from Santa’s to 100%. If not, the stocking buildings bought with clams have not been that helpful. I feel sad that they said they intended to make Stan go ice skating to a roller ring instead if the ice pond..especially since the task has the image of the ice pond. It is very strange but also not the first time a task has an image of a building that does not go with the task. Francine has a one hour task at the school and shows the image of the lunar jump. Also, does anyone else have the american dad occupy Quahog camp still for sale in the shop? Cheers!

Ah OK, now I know why the American Dad campsite is back in the decos shop, tinyco sent out the following tweet a couple days back:
“Couldn’t complete the American Dad quest due to Hayley’s missing campsite? We just pushed a fix for this!”

Yea…we’re not sure why they’re still going. I think it has to do with the fact that you can still unlock AD characters….and they help you get items.

Oh, thank heavens about the doll drops. I was trying to be good and bit my tongue, but I think I was ready to start gnawing away at all the candy cane stockings I’ve collected while waiting for the rare doll to appear.

Your tree is still at level 1. It only upgrades once a week.

Thank god, accidentally started the timer for jasper. In my town (don’t know if it’s the same for everyone) 7 snowmen spawn from the street and 2 from the Christmas district every 2 hours.

I said in 1 of the other posted (can’t remember where it is) that I didn’t get the dizzy Reindeer. Sorry I did get it… I was getting confused someone mentioned an elf? That’s the thing I have been looking for. I heard it was in the store but I can’t find him anywhere. Do you know if he is coming back or if there is another way to get him? Plus is there a post saying what all the secret Santa gifts are??

I did get the Demented Elf as a gift that a friend sent me, so there’s that option at least. He doesn’t do much but walk around the road patch I have but it’s pretty cool looking.

This is about Lucky’s Orphanage (that drops dolls), so I’ll post the comment here. I noticed the puffing smoke animation is way off in terms of not lining up with the chimneys. I notified TinyCo about it. Here’s a pic:

I sent Tinyco a question about how often Ollie drops gifts and they replied that he would drop a new gift every 24 hours. However, I then saw the updated FAQ that says he only drops gifts when the tree is upgraded. I sent them another message for clarification but I won’t hold my breath. I know no one is perfect, but they are consistently inconsistent and it drives the OCD in me crazy!
