Well it looks like TinyCo had some success in getting the update out…as phase 2 is now live! In order to kick it off you must go to your tree and tap on it (it should have a bow). This will upgrade your tree to the 2nd Phase.
One thing you’ll notice is it looks like TinyCo decided to make a little winter storm hit Quahog…as the blizzard conditions have picked up & some wind is now whipping in town!

You can craft Jesus in the Workshop…BUT he’ll take a while to get. To get Jesus you’ll need:

However, there’s something cool with Jesus….Once you have Jesus, he will help you defeat Yeti. Once you level him up to Level 3, he will have a special 24-hour action, “Turn Water into Clams,” which has a chance to drop clams!
New Premium Character to Buy
John in Argyle’s Limo- 200 Clams. Limo earns 5 Cookies and 1 HC/2hrs. John can also attack the Yeti.
John’s attack level for the Yeti is a 2 or 3…higher than Lois & Mort. Great in combination with them to defeat the Yeti Quickly!
YES…he is voiced. And YES he says what you’re all hoping he says.
For those that don’t know….he’s from Die Hard. And YES it is Bruce Willis voice.
Yeti
You’ll find the Yeti in your Christmas Village. To defeat the Yeti you’ll need Sexy Santa Lois, Hanukkah Mort, John or Jesus (when you get him) to do the 4-hour action “Battle the Yeti”. Each completed attack will do either low or high damage to the Yeti. The higher the level the harder he is to defeat.
You can send multiple characters to attack him at once…this defeats him faster
Each time you attack the Yeti and defeat him you’ll move him up to a new level, where he’ll change hats:
Each level of defeat the rewards increase…
As you can see not every hat is unlocked yet…more will unlock as the event progresses.
You’ll be able to see his health meter as it will float over his head….

How Often Does the Yeti respawn?
After you defeat him he’ll respawn again in 4hrs. When he comes back he’ll be at the next level.
What’s the 24hr Timer For?
This counts down how long you have to defeat the Yeti to keep the streak going. Once you defeat him the clock will reset back to 24hrs. The streak is the only way to get him to increase his hat level…ie you earn more rewards for beating him.
If you don’t defeat him within 24hrs, he’ll escape and reset back to the first hat level…Viking.
What Are the Different Yeti Levels & How Many Health Points Does it Take to Defeat Him at Each Point?

Weekly Challenge..
For this week’s Challenge you’ll have to defeat Cowboy Yeti (the middle level) in 4 days. This should be fairly easy to achieve. Just continuously send Lois to defeat him once it triggers. Although if you have Mort it can make it go faster.
Peter triggers this one after you’ve checked out the details on the Yeti and defeated him once. It will be shortly after The Great Quahog Blizzard Pt. 2. So if you don’t want to trigger it…don’t tap on Peter after that point.
Update: Sorry guys…I couldn’t remember last night if it was after Part 2 or 3 that the challenge triggered. So I went with shortly after Part 2. Better to be safe then sorry. If it’s not triggering for you…finish part 3 and see if that helps it trigger. However, if you don’t want to trigger it…don’t tap on Peter after you get the Clams popup. (below)

Just wondering, when does the attack the yeti unlock for john? I just bought him and it doesn’t have any task for attack the yeti anywhere on the list, is this a glitch or do I need to have Lois attack the yeti before john can do it?

Might be worth the 100 clams if it’s like 5 or more but if it’s just one I doubt I will buy it… I do want Jesus but grinding him out by defeating the Yeti is going to take a bit………

I’m having a grand old time playing the Christmas thing. However I hate how the timer for the yeti starts before you log on. I can’t play all day. Especially during the week.

When reaching level 10 it says you will get every perk. What do they mean by that?

All the tree levels will unlock as they open each week. Higher Holiday Cheer usually means more Snowman or other visitors pop up more frequently. You would have collected all the free clams for each level up. Etc

Are we going to have the opportunity to earn all prizes from the gift boxes? I didn’t have the chance to get Santa’s throne from the snowflake gift box, and now it’s locked since I won the other, more “important” gifts from the snowflake box.
And what are we going to do with all these extra candy canes and dolls?

The event is barely only in week two, more coming…
As far as items missing, if they are not in your inventory anywhere…please message them right away from your game menu and tell them what item(s) you are missing and that the box is locked out.
A patch is coming to help, but they are still tracking games that had the issue.

I’ve been coming to this site for a bit now and have never said anything really so I just wanted to say thank you for all the tips and tricks and info you provide! I’m so addicted to this game lol. Still kicking myself for missing the comic con and Halloween event tho so now I feel obligated to get everything in the Christmas event haha.

TinyCo goofed with Mort imo. It’s a super cheap costume that requires an ungodly amount of time to unlock. 10 items with 10hr tasks? Given most people sleeping you’ll probably do 3 of these every 2 days and it may well take a week or more to get them all to drop.
The items are far too cheap to warrant such awful task lengths. Should have been 8hr tasks and bump the 8hr ones down to 6hr. Those are tasks lengths you should see for major characters in a district unlock that people can take their time with not costumes for tasks that will almost certainly end before people can even unlock the help(Yeti task). For people who didn’t buy John and unfortunately started the timer a lot may be sunk.
TinyCo doesn’t usually drop the ball like this, hope they adjust costumes going forward(Young Brian) to account for this misstep.

I finally broke down and bought some clams. Been playing since April and this is the first time. I was just short of enough clams to get john mc lane. I had to have him. I couldn’t wait. I guess 1.99 isn’t bad for 8 months of playing. I’ve been a fan of the die hard series since it started. Small price to pay for one of my favorite movie characters.

I did the same. There’s a similar gaming company that I wouldn’t give money to in a million years.
I think it’s really going to pay off with having John and Lois (and eventually Mort) teaming up on the yeti.

Is it even possible to completely defeat the childish yeti in 24 hrs with Lois and John (Don’t have Morts new skin yet as the drop rates are horrendous! In two days I only have one candle thing and one shield) and sleep AND have any semblance of a life? Or is this just a clever way to force us to buy clams if we want Jesus?

Because this week’s timed challenge is very straightforward. Next week (with at least one stronger yeti unleashed) this is a great time to get a run on Childish yetis as it may be much trickier after Thursday.
15 points minimum so you only need three out of ten hits to be max to clear the Childish yeti (with John and Lois). Keep it up for a day or two until Mort unlocked and then it may take only 12 hours (+4 regen.) So this (for those who have bought John) is probably the best time to rack up snowflakes.

4 tries gives you a min/max of 12-20 damage between John and Lois with an average of 16 meaning you need some luck to beat the yeti in 4 tries but it’s not impossible. 5 tries gives you a min/max of 15-25 with an average of 20 which means barring some really bad luck you’ll easily beat it.
I’ve set up a system where I’m going to do those tasks at 12AM, 8AM, 12PM, 4PM, and 8PM. This allows me to remember to do them easily and gives me leeway to sleep.
Once Mort comes into the picture 18hp will be a cakewalk and probably handled in 3 turns a lot of the time. The last few will either be handled with more costumed help in the coming weeks or will be exclusively for people who bought John as the hp will be too high to do it without him. Given how TinyCo does stuff I imagine freemium players will get more than just Lois and Mort to help.

I already beat the cowboy yeti before the Weekly challenge triggered. Will I still get it if I beat the Yeti with the Beanie or should I let my timer reset and start over. I for some reason thought when I read it was the beanie one to beat. Darn it.

From what I am seeing, no…as the task did not exist until you trigger it. I would suggest to leave whoever is there now to keep hitting the Yeti. Let him time out and restart, then…Tap on him to defeat as soon as he does (still leaving the characters tossing snow balls). Once you tap on him and start the “attack” you just tap the check marks and poof…instant hits and jump start the new Viking attack again. It will go a lot quicker that way. Keep someone untapped if possible while the Yeti Hibernates. Then you can hit him right off of that 4 hour cool down.

Great phase. In my opinion, not worth spending clams on ‘frosties’ building as you get ample snowflakes from the yeti. Instead use those 200 clams on John as he is well worth it due to his yeti fighting abilities haha. Also worth getting Mort pharmacy Xmas skin for 100 clams as this helps with the outfit (rares) and doesn’t have a lengthy wait time. Think Bryan Cranston should cook meth cookies for some additional holiday cheer haha 😉

Be careful not to defeat the Cowboy yeti before you have the weekly quest for him, I clicked to beat him, then got the quest to beat him 10 seconds later when peter and chris finished their quest….submitted ticket, no way i want to wait 28 hours to reset him, then beat him twice again . gotta get my 100 flakes for Jesus.

As the Challenge is for the Cowboy and not Childish…I do not know if it will recognize the previous wins. If it doesn’t, follow the instructions to hit the first two again. You will have to wait the 24hr period. Not sure what good putting in a ticket will do. There is no way for the game to recognize what you accomplished for a task when the task didn’t even exist. Similar to you can’t complete a task for Hanakkuh Mort if he isn’t in the game yet. Or Jesus. That part HAS to be initiated and active in the game in order to get credit.

It will depend on how far in limbo the gift is. Mine was not right away, but it eventually showed up during game play. If you are playing with Facebook Friends, you may not see it at all depending on how many of their gifts are in limbo waiting to drop.

I’m very pleased with the amount of “stuff to do” in this event. I am getting a little nervous about getting Kaspersky before the timer runs out. I’m still smarting over failing to get the lady newscaster’s ghost during Halloween.

so… this weeks challenge seems a little hard too me…
without Hanukkah Mort and clams its not really doable
I started Mort as soon as possible, but 10 rare 10h tasks from 3 people and 8 rare 8h from 2 doesnt seem to get ready early enough for me (only 2 because i need Lois in a lot of other quests).
I still didnt get to see cowboy yeti, but if he really has 10HP (in your article you wrote viking yeti has 5HP and for me he has only 4HP) then it is not quite fair to do with Lois alone. Even if you get a perfect start and send Lois with her first attack at the very start of the cowboy yeti, you have to get 5 times 2 damage in a row to get him down in the 24h hours window – the chances for that are kind of small (5 times 50% => 3%?).
please tell me i am wrong and i will be pleased 🙂

Just give it a try. I saw many saying Roger was impossible to get with his extra rares and I had all 3 before collecting all the common items. Don’t let the wording sway your judgement. Play the game, see what happens. 😉

Deciding whether or not to buy John.
On one hand I really do want to, at this point I still need 6 shields and 8 menorahs for the Mort costume. I’m really afraid to click on Peter as I fear he’ll now trigger the week challenge (although I’m not too sure if it is till I clicked him). I probably won’t have enough time to finish off the cowboy yeti today. Will he go back to the first yeti if you run out of time or still be all cowboyed up?
But on the other hand I remain a freemium player and have just 271 clams to spend, still unwilling to buy any premium currency. (For any game.) So 200 clams is a real pain in the hiny for us freemiums.
But still.. x_x

Will it make YOU happy to have them? Not just now for their benefits in the Event…but MONTHS from now? Will you still be happy with the purchase? Will you wish then you DID have them?
Each Premium is there as a personal option. So YOU need to weigh the pros and cons of why you want/need the Character and determine if they are right for you.
As far as the Yeti, if the timer goes to 0 the Yeti starts back at the beginning. So you have to do the process again.

Just did the math, and with both “free” characters, beating the 3rd level yeti is nearly impossible…
4 hrs per task = 6-12 hp per
18 hp would mean you would have to get at least 50% of them to hit for 2 damage… not to mention get EVERY SINGLE ONE!
Hopefully this will be changed a bit, to make it a little more achievable!

I don’t know if this has been mentioned yet but I’ve noticed when the snowflake box timer has 11minutes to go, you can speed it up using 0 clams. Also it’s not showing on Ron Perlman’s task list but his 20hr task (rate Brian’s record collection) it pays out cookies and HC I can’t remember how much of each but it does 😀

That new gift box is so tempting! I really want the gingerbread mansion but can’t risk that many clams….! I’m sure it would still work out to cost less than the 600 it costs to buy outright though.

It’s says u can send multiple people to defeat the Yeti. Yet it is only letting me send 1person at a time!! So I haven’t been able to beat him. Has anyone else having this issue??

It means it depends on WHO you have unlocked/purchased in your game. Right now Sexy Santa Lois, John McClane, and Hanukkah Mort are the ones that can attack the Yeti.

I bought John McClane, but he doesn’t have the option to battle the yeti. Do I need to trigger the Happy Trails questline to get this option? If so, how do I trigger the quest?

You know I am tempted, at this point, to drop all of my buildings in town and go through each of the characters and skins to see if they yield more results as far as picking up extra HC, Cookies and stockings. Every time I come back to this page another character has a new task. Look at Lois, Red Hot training for Fire combat is from the Comic Con event. No cookies or cheer, but then again, Stan’s Keeping America safe doesn’t either, BUT they both have the possibility of dropping crucial skin requirements. You kind of have to pick your battle, I guess.

Don’t know if anyone else has posted this, but the Death Roe Caviar building gives 12 cookies and Two Holiday cheer along with a chance to get Mort’s Menorah for his costume! I only have one box to go and I have finished the whole set for this go round and it isn’t even 24 hours since update! I am only a few cookies away from the required 15000 cookies and I KNOW that getting the snowflakes is relatively easy with McClane and Lois both fighting the Yeti. Best 200 clams I have spent to date 🙂
I have never gotten any of the cool glitches that everyone is talking about. The one clam finish 24 hour task glitch or the one where McClane can fight Yeti even in hibernation. But I’m still keeping up pretty well.
I DID put Stan Lee back into dock … he’s useless. 5 times I had him do the Peter Parkour thing and not a sniff, I just got fed up (he is one of my least favourite characters)
ALSO, I noticed that Bonnie can no longer play online poker unless she has her table, so that must have been a glitch.

You guys forgot to change it from 5 to 4 health for the first yeti! Way to slack off :p I had to hold off using John for the cowboy yeti so I’d get the weekly task before I defeated it. Luckily I still have plenty of time to defeat him before he resets. Are you two getting any sleep with the two Christmas updates or do you just have IV drips of caffeine at this point? Thanks for all the awesome help and work you two do. If I ever win the lottery I’ll throw a spare mil both your ways haha.

Hopefully one day you two will get a break between the two games and get to experience the gloriousness that sleep is! i have 2 more hours until the yeti comes back from hibernation.i only have Lois so far to attack and shes free now should i send her to attack him while hes still hibernating? what would that even do 😛 this is like my 3rd question posted tonight!.. on a rollllllll ;D

Right now, you can’t. Lois’ task disappears as soon as he goes into cool down. It is one of those that it helps to have two characters attacking. So if one completes it…you can let the other keep going while waiting for the yeti to cool down. Then you can tap the Yeti FIRST, then the character and you get a jump on the next level.

I’m not getting any snowflakes.. I’ve defeated the Yeti three times and I still have zero snowflakes. Is this a glitch or are you not guaranteed to get any snowflakes? From what I see it looks like you are supposed to get 2 each time, meaning I should have at least six, right?

Are you referring to the payouts on the Characters themselves attacking? The Yeti payouts when you clear the heart Hit Point level to Zero after all the character attacks.

Basically my yeti is halfway through the childish hat one, nearly defeated him. However the quest has come up for the week 2 of the event, about getting the ice sculpture. You need to defeat the cowboy yeti to get it, however I’ve already defeated him as im on the child yeti. What do I do? What happens when I deafet the childish yeti, will it go back to the Viking one, so I can re-defeat the cowboy yeti and complete the week 2 quest.

No. He stays at that level. See if it autocompletes when you finish Childish, if not…you gotta let the timer run down and start from Viking up.

Got stuck with the Snowflake Gift quest after I completed all the boxes. Contacted Tiny Co and they gave me another unwrap to complete the quest! They are awesome! Also, I got a clam from a snowman?!? Is that supposed to happen? (Note: Not a complaint)

Please help. I am not understanding this Yeti thing. I had Lois try to defeat the yeti 4 times now and bought John McClaine and he tried once. I have no snowflakes and he is no in hibernation. My timer is down now a whole day and I’m going to miss out on the weekly Challenge! Which I never have missed.. Please help! I’m a dedicated player and I’ll be really upset if I can’t make the timer!

If he is NOT in hibernation, you are not quite there yet. The payout will ONLY come from the Character tasks until you hit the Yeti enough times to make his level zero and go into hibernation. Do you see his HP Level above his head? Mine didn’t show at first and I had to force close and reset for it to show up.

How on earth can you defeat a cowboy yeti with only Lois. I would have to get crits single time and on top of that I would only get 4 hrs of sleep at night. I’ve been through the comments and couldn’t find anything confirming that it is possible.

Post is coming. It will be really tight and will depend on luck with just her alone. 10HP. Having Mort to help is really your best bet. BUT…if you are going to spend clams, it may be cheaper to speed her tasks in the last hour vs buying him out. But try it first and see how you do.

That’s what I thought. These comments have made me confused about whether it would go back to 24 hours after zapping some HP but I just confirmed it doesn’t. So doing it with only Lois is kind of a bad stretch. These timed challenges that are based on luck alone are really annoying, especially when Mort’s outfit is harder to get and Lois is used to help get it.
