Hey clammers! Matt from TinyCo here. We asked Bunny and Alissa if we can give y’all a peek behind the curtain at what’s coming up in January and February, and we’re stoked they said yes.
We often say that we expect Family Guy: The Quest for Stuff to be around for a very long time. To make sure that it lives long and prospers, we plan content well in advance. We’re working on February as we speak, and we’re about to get started on March.
Here’s a look at what we have so far.
January: District 10 and Pawtucket Brewery
District 10 brings a new way of progressing in the game: the Pawtucket Brewery. This building will have unique decorations for you to craft, including Beer Packs, a Pyramid of Beer, a Potted Beer Bush, and… lots of beer. It’s like a beer factory, only with more beer.
Also, this happens:
Expect District 10 to launch next week in the south corner of your Quahog.
February: Valentine’s Day
The best part about making games is that we get to explore strange new worlds. Family Guy is no exception, thanks to the Multiverse, Stewie’s time travel (don’t worry, we’ll learn what happened to that plutonium soon), and Quahog itself. For Valentine’s Day, we’re wondering:what would happen if a bunch of these characters went on dates?
We’re getting a visit from Multiverse Meg (SFW – kind of):
And Handsome Peter, straight from the Beautiful People’s Club:
Fun fact – one of our animators is spending hours animating Handsome Peter’s butt.
Valentine’s Day hits Quahog in early February.
March and Beyond
We’ve set our sights on March as the next big Quahog-defining event, with a full crew of guest stars that would fit right in at Comic Con. That’s all we can share for now – but let’s just say they won’t be intimidated by Alien and Predator.

I love how they posted stuff to keep us informed I really appreciate it. I think the big thing after 10 and valentines is gonna have something to do with FG:TQFS’s one year anniversary and an event surrounding that maybe.

I don’t know if this worked for anyone else, but even though I have the glitch where I can’t unlock a character after I collected all their item (because it crashes), I still could unlock Jillian. I had to try a few times, and it was after I got the Android update that it finally worked, but I unlocked her. I still can’t unlock Brian, but, right now, for me that’s fine. I probably should have wrote this on a New Year’s event post, so to make this more this comment more related to this post I really want that Multiverse Meg costume! I’d rather instead of her appearing in valentine’s event that they had there own event for the multiverse people. Human Brian, Chinese Peter, Dog Stewie, etc would be cool. Maybe someday

Don’t worry on the unlock issue. It is known and there is a patch coming soon. They pushed Jillian right away as she was needed for the event. But others will be fixed too. 😉

I gotta guess Star Trek rather than Wars.
First, the reference to a “crew”. The various Star Trek casts are indeed ‘crews’, but I really don’t think of the Wars cast that way.
Second, as others have pointed out, many of the Trek actors have previously appeared/voiced in the show.
Third, when Family Guy did their Blue Harvest shows, they used existing cast members and their voices, meaning that unlike Trek (specifically TNG), FG doesn’t have the precedent of using the SW cast. For that matter, IMDB says that Mark Hamil’s only appearance in the show was on the banned episode (When You Wish Upon a Weinstein).
Now, having the FG cast dress up as SW characters? I bet that would be a lot easier to pull off. (Still, I’d be happy with Trek or Wars.)
Back to the Future 2? If we get it, it probably won’t show until closer to October (the date shown in the actual movie). Besides, they’d totally be intimidated by the Halloween monsters.

I for one would not mind an actual slow time period in the game. I have a bunch of land left to clear (all that stuff on the left side of the screen) but I never have a chance to clear it. Everything takes at least 20 hours to clear and I never know when a quest is going to make me build another building. I really wish the workers were split into builders and grounds crew. That way you can have one guy just clearing land while the other is free to build.
Slowing down on the buildings would be nice too. Just this little New Year’s event has required what 5 or 6 buildings? That is insane. Keep it down to one or two so we are not constantly cluttered.

They say “as with all districts, number 10 comes with more land,” which probably means the little square of land in the corner, which will probably be filled with new buildings! I think we are all saying more land than that, please. We have way too much in storage for just that square.
Not finding a way to maximize what I have either with the way the roads are…it would be awesome if they released pavement, too!
I think they are trying, though, so I’m not hatin’ on TC…just making a suggestion as this is a good place for it. 🙂

Yes they did say more land, but along with it will be enough new stuff to fill it. I hate to put away event stuff and at the moment, I have an entire section of my town lumped with buildings squished together. There needs to be enough land to make purchasing buildings desirable. No sense in paying for a building you can’t display.

I know…it is a hard thing to get used to. To have something but NOT see it. I get it. It is the style is THIS game though. Quest for STUFF. And oh what STUFF we have. More STUFF will come too. Lol.
Just gotta figure out what to do with it.

And Bunny, you make a good point…it IS the quest for stuff. I may be being influenced by my TSTO game. I like to display, as you know, all my game earnings. It makes me proud, and I cannot stand superfluous clutter. I like to make a little world. It may be the wrong game for me in concept, but it is more exciting than other games! I appreciate the other game for the design aspect and aesthetic beauty. But FG is way more fun! I just hope that as the game grows, the possibilities for making it “pretty” grow as well.
But I will not stop playing, no matter how much stuff I have to store. I guess I’ll just have to pick my favorites. (It can be frustrating when you store a building for space reasons, and then realize that a particular character needs that building for a task, though…my Barrington Hotel has been stored forever because it is big and ugly. But Carter uses it. So I guess that’s how it goes.)

Lol. I have to clear my ENTIRE town for my 2D and 3D art…so trust me… I GET IT!! Lol. Sooooo much so, I do. But it is a different beast. More land means more data usage and memory space needed…which can cause more issues if not done right. It took TSTO 2+ years to get that size land. I am patiently waitin to see how TinyCo does. So far… AMAZING. 😉

There is not as that changes each event, so a hard one to keep up on. Basically, the main buildings during each District release are used a lot. (Houses, hospital, school, etc) so you will want to keep those out. I am working on a more master list…but it will take some time to complete as… well you see here… there are a LOT of locations. Lol. 😉

Keep in mind that more land and more buildings mean the app has to use more memory and further strain your phone/tablet, which leads to more lock ups and force closes. I’m sure TinyCo could slap another 20 sections on the side of the map tomorrow, if they wanted to, but without taking the time to optimize the game so that it can handle the extra load–time they have to share with developing the additions and plans they’re already working on–then 90% of the players would never be able to enjoy it.

My money’s on it being Star TREK, not Wars. The show’s gotten the TNG cast together before, and of course they’ve already got Patrick Stewart in-game.

Cant wait for district 10, one of my favorite episodes of a spoof on willy wonka. I was wondering if there were gonna be any ompaloompas, it looks like we are, and there stew-paloompas. I will be playing in a state of pure inebriation. 🙂 lol.

Looking good for the coming months. I think as has already been said a Star Wars tie in would be very cool and I do agree more land is needed. I would love to see James Woods, the Chicken and Prom Night Dumpster Baby added to the game.

That’s really cool, however I hope that the comic con event isn’t as long and tidious as the one from last year, and I hope the characters won’t cost a lot of clams, and the tasks aren’t long for the characters, also have more of our current characters do tasks in order to get items because we have a lot of them that just run around without being useful such as Brain damaged horse. These of course are a few suggestions.

Don’t read too much into it. It’s just a sexual double-entendre. It could just as easily be a Grand Theft: San Andreas “Hot Coffee” reference (if you don’t know what that is, don’t Google it at work).

It was a joke. I take it you don’t play PC games like the Half Life series where we frequently joke about reading too much into a simplistic sentence and over analyzing it to think that “ZOMG HL3 CONFIRMED!”

One thing I wish they would fix is the cause of game crashing. Even though I have written Tinyco about it, my game keeps on crashing. It has been crashing since the Christmas. Whenever I try to click on Bob’s funland to unlock Stewie or try to build the cinema, it keeps on crashing. Even with their latest update, it won’t stop crashing.

The issue with Character unlock crash is separate. They are actually aware of it and a patch is coming for it. Hang in there.
As for the rest, have you tried any of the steps I take when it happens?

I still can’t get in my game it’s been like this for 3 weeks now 😦 I did tried everthing to get back in my game, keeps crashing after 5 minutes.

This a good place to make suggestions? Im going to assume it is.
1. Can you make a reward for characters that hit their max level? Something other than a simple yellow portrait.
2. Some tasks take place outside and are animated, while others (most) just take place in a building and are super boring.
Can you either make an indicator ingame as to which tasks are animated, or make more tasks animated?
I unlock all these cool new characters and outfits just to end up having them hiding indoors most of the time… 😦

Great suggestions! I have the same concerns. I’ve been working on maxing my characters levels so that I can just at least leave them walking around so that I can see them since, like you said, most of the time they are couped up in building. I’ve also been wishing that there was some kinda reward for maxing them. Maybe an a new animated task as a reward? Maybe a new skin? Something besides nothing!

Glad I have saved up and purchased some clams when they were on sale. Haven’t really spent a lot of clams so far except on CC. If Blue Harvest hits, that will be expensive for me as well. Very excited about the upcoming months. Time to start clearing out buildings and stuff that don’t make much cash. Thanks for the teasers TC.

That is amazing news. Sounds like star wars for sure with the movie coming soon and so much untapped potential with three movies of characters and costumes. Very exciting I hope we get Mark Hammill as well as Carrie Fischer. Doesn’t Carrie Fischer voice one of Brian’s ex lovers in the show? Has she been drawn in as herself though? Not sure. Only bad part of that announcement is more “coming soon” on the plutonium stuff. Doesn’t sound like its District 10. Come on it’s been almost like four months now!!

Actually Carrie voices Peter’s boss at the Brewery. And I think she voiced the “Only Other Woman” in one of the Star Wars parodies (Lois was Leia). And Lois takes an instant dislike towards her.

Can you please release a LOT more land? I want to make my town into an actual town, but most of my decos are in storage right now. I think the decorations and buildings in this game are prettier than the unmentioned similar game, but the lack of land is pretty frustrating. I know it’s a “quest for stuff,” but I want to show all my prizes off, like player battle scars!
Thanks to TinyCo for an awesome and exciting game. Don’t mean to complain as I am totally grateful. With new land always comes new stuff, and I just don’t know where to put it all! All the stuff is so cool!

Very excited about this! The oompa loompa stewie looks ace! My guesses for the guests maybe Transformers? He-man? Star Wars? Thundercats or some forms of Marvel/DC character?(wishful thinking haha)….What are everyones guesses?!
