Phase 5 is now live and running in our games. Just like unlocking Districts, this Event has us unlocking Enterprise “Districts” and causing us all flashbacks of those dreaded Eyeballs and Headbands. Definitely one of the more Challenging Events to say the least. Even for the Seasoned Players. So, back again, bouncing on in here because I want to know where YOU are in the game?
To keep the answers more basic, and without ad lib, I am placing this one in a form instead. Take a look at the questions, answer them as simplistic as possible (it helps ME compile the information better when simplistic, so keep it short please). Some of the questions you can skip as they may not apply, others will be required answers.
Again, I am ONLY looking for answers to these questions and these questions only. Helping us to stick to that, helps you in the long run. ANYTHING ELSE WILL BE MODERATED/DELETED. The requirements for each character are the most insane I think TinyCo has ever set for an event. I agree with others… I’d rather be able to use my 2 million+ coins that I’ve just been sitting on rather than the dilithium, which I keep getting prompted to use for different items to progress the quests. I’m a faithful player of this game and have completed every previous event TQFS has had… and this one I’m no where close. I’ve still got Crusher, Data, Talosian Stewie, Jean-Luc, and Captain Kirk to go and less than a week to do it. I don’t think they ever have, but I truly hope TinyCo extends this event. Or goes through and drops requirements.

i have everything for data except the anyi viruses. Currenly half. Am I jumping up and down screaming saying I will quit becuse i have run the 3 characters non stop and wont unlock him before the final upgrade on friday?
No. It’s a game. I have had great drop rates on many things and games are ment to be challenging.
Improvements:
Less premium characters. I know a lot was probably spent on this event but as a character collector it’s getting very big very fast. No pun intended. Save the money cow for building skins. Mystery boxes. Permium decos. 2 premium characters or costumes max to an event.

Hey everyone,
I need some advice. Should I craft “the guardian of forever” in the replicator? Right now I have 7 dark matter, 5 orange phaser ore and 1615 pink d. Crystals. I also am a little more than half way thru level 9 so I could use a boost to the event XP, if it gives a good boost. I don’t know if it’s worth it to use the necessary materials unless it’s a good boost to event XP. Thanx and have fun.

I decided to unlurk and answered the poll 🙂 I have everything except for data and kirk. Still need 8 anti-virus thingies but im sure ill get them somewhere tomorrow or the day after not worried about data tbh it’s not like we need him for the bertram battles :p. I got talosian stewie after 4 days of continuous questing but I also have worf which helped alot with the sunscreen for me I think i got 4 of them from him.

I have to say that ALL things considered, speaking strictly for me, this is a great event! Yes, i bought Guinan, Worf and Q but i think it was worth it because THEY are in the series as well as extreme help in the game! I started playing this event TEN DAYS LATE and now all i need is crystals for Stewie and Bev! Only one left to unlock is Data before next upgrade! If i can get this far starting late in the event then ……..!

Well, i can update my poll and say that Stewie is in my game now! Just need 3000 crystals for Bev and grab 25 more antivirus for Data! Big Thanks to Meg for the constant crystals at that planet with rings! She stays quiet and produces the crystals! This event has been pretty frustrating. Not bad enough to quit over (unless the next event is this awful). If I’d just started playing, though, and thought this was representative of the game is have quit and never looked back.

Hi ladies! Might I suggest for future polls to further specify the “grading” of the event via two separate questions?
1) How would you grade the creativeness, quest lines, and otherwise awesomeness of this event?
2) How would you grade the execution of the event?
I realize you may not care about the difference because this is a very specific poll with specific questions. Just though I’d offer a helpful suggestion. Thanks!

Each poll we do has a set purpose as to why they do them, it will NEVER be all that everyone anticipates it to be… nor will they cover every single aspect going on in the game.
I am more interested in the Character unlocks and Dilithium in this one. The overall is just more a curiosity, so no need to separate. When/if we want more details on the grading, we will ask. Thanks for the suggestion though. 😉

I finally unlocked Data very early this morning!!! The antivirus software was what made the unlock take a really long time. Now it’s on to Kirk. I have 69 dark matter and it will take a while to get to 150. I thought there would be another Bertram after the third one since they only showed the last one unlocking tomorrow.

This is a first for me on glitches. I had 19 anti-virus softwares and needed 9 more to get Data. Herbert just gave me one and now I am down to only 18. I’ve reset the game, but for some reason it subtracted the one instead of adding.

I gave the event a generous D, but only because I like the theme so much. At the risk of sounding like a WTD post, here are some of the reasons for that grade. I hope it serves as useful feedback, should someone from TinyCo read the comments.
If you’re maxed level, have all areas unlocked, play many times each day, and pay for a premium character, you shouldn’t still be behind all the time.
I don’t understand their rationale for giving characters event skins and then placing drops only in their unskinned versions. If they want people who haven’t unlocked the skin to be able to get the drops too, it would be better if both versions drop the same thing, than if the event skin is useless for large portions of the event.
Likewise, in an event as drop-driven as this one, it would be better if quest lines didn’t repeatedly take critical characters out of action for whole days at a time on actions that don’t help with the event unless the quest rewards also include items that they might have dropped if you had kept them on task. At this point, I’m struggling to understand the point of including the quests at all. If they are intended to fill down time during the event, there has to be down time in the schedule in which to do them, which there isn’t if players are constantly trying to catch up before the event ends.
Phaser battles, start to finish.
I think at least 4 characters have made the same tired captain’s log joke, some multiple times, and it’s also used in item descriptions and, IIRC, Facespace posts. Got it the first time, thanks.
Klingon Meg cost *660* clams. On the one hand, they finally made Bryan Cranston look inexpensive, so there may be some players who appreciate that. On the other hand, it is fairly obvious that she should have been a freemium skin like the other Griffins. Remember the vanishing quest during Klingon week, and the fact that she used to be in the Griffin skin set? Mmmmmmhm.
George Takei and Patrick Stewart should probably have done something–anything–for this event. There was a patch to have Stewart earn cat food, but only when the event is almost over. How was Tiny Matt surprised by that suggestion in the Q&A?
General lack of attention to detail. How many things were released with obvious errors or complete lack of necessary in-game explanation that made people waste resources?
Again, I love the theme, and some of the things in it were great (kudos to whoever worked on Starfleet Lois, for example), but in the end I find it difficult to overlook the ongoing problems.

I just got data last night and Picard this morning. Took all my dilithium. I doubt I’ll make it to Kirk, which is ok. Not a fan of original Star Trek, but huge fan of next generation. I don’t spend real money on games, but this one sure was tempting. I did have enough clams saved to get Worf, thankfully. Bertram has been better than yeti because this one had 4 freemium characters that can battle. I only remember 3 for yeti. This time I might actually beat him. Best event so far.

I just open the part where you get Vulcan quagmire and Beverly cusher. I’m so far behind because I work almost every day so on the days I work, I only get to play 3-4 times a day, as oppose to 10-14 times a day when I’m off. I just feel like this is important to know with my survey!

Also as the game is coded currently, there is no Jean Luc Picard. That is a skin for Locutus which is JLP. I hope they switch them faceplace.

Have everything except Kirk. Finishing two questlines so those are out of the way also. A big help in getting dilithium has been sending Chris and Peter to Acapella while Betram is down. Thrice I’ve gotten 750 crystals.

This survey has two glaring omissions: how many clams have you spent? and how many times a day do you play? Seems like those two questions would help people identify if they are on a similar pace as similar players.

Really wish they’d let us buy something with the million-plus coins I’ve got instead of always having to use clams and dilithium. It’s been slow going accumulating phaser energy to shoot romulan birds too, although the drop rate shooting at them vs. shooting Petercraft has been much better. Still trying to get Crusher. There are no characters I have that drop what she needs, and the med buildings don’t always drop at every interval. Same with Quagmire. It’s taking forever to finish him. Can’t get a grip on Bertram at all. Have missed so many opportunities to defeat him that I have to give up on him until I get Talosian Stewie. And even if I max out the away team for Edo Herbert, it won’t rise up to the likelihood level on the meter to get him. Actually, I can’t get bonus dilithium for any away team I’ve sent. Don’t know how everyone is able to get hundred-plus counts by sending only one character at a time. Despite all these setbacks, I still really enjoy playing daily and like seeing the imaginative character interactions and gorgeous set designs.

Only 900 more crystals for Picard and then off to hope grind for Kirk. I have all the premium ppl but only one premie room and it’s not the 500 crystal drop room. And data is still a long way from being unlocked. I don’t know which battle to focus on sigh.

Actually managed to mostly catch up this week. Unlocked Quagmire and Crusher shortly after the last update, got Talosian Stewie a couple days back, Chris finally managed to get Edo Herbert (after he landed the last blow on Bertram and had a few hours to kill) and just unlocked Data the last time I was in the game a few minutes ago. I was kind of hoping that he would have a synthesizer energy task, because that’s what I’m a bit short on.
Well, that and crystals. I’m about 600 short on Picard (have enough synth energy and dark matter for him), so I should get him today and Bertram should go down easily enough with the four people on him.
The biggest problem with this event is that there’s just a bit too much to do in the time there is to do it. I still have 15,000 crystals left to get Kirk (and another 1000 for the guardian of forever), plus whatever is needed for the last two items, a bunch of quests that have gone unfinished because they require people I need doing other things (Edo Herbert wants Chris to spend an entire day battling), and there will be new things dropping in a day and a half. So while I’ll probably get those things, there won’t really be any time to enjoy them before boom, event is over, all the quests end.
I understand that it can be challenge to program the events so that they are both possible for freemium players to complete (and I check my phone WAY more than I should, it’s a good thing my workload at my job is light at the moment) and not too easy for the premium players to do everything, but when you have things in waves like this, you need to have a bit of a lull at the end, when things are this busy and dense, so that people are able to enjoy these things they’ve unlocked. That’s something that EA has done rather well; the questlines for unlocked characters and such tend to be able to continue (at least for a little while) after the event itself has ended. In more than one event (particularly the really short ones) there has literally been too little time for questlines to be completed by the time a character can be unlocked.

Right now I have Chris constantly fighting Bertram, which means he’s never going to get to From Boy to Klingon Pt 1- Play Turbolift Tag, Wise Counsel Pt 3 – Write Love Poems, and All The Way Bare Pt 2 – Spar With Bat’Leth. I know the questlines aren’t critical, but I would like to go through them.
Also, I have 13K crystals and 80 dark matter. I haven’t gotten Picard yet, because Kirk matters to me more. Although I will be very upset if I don’t get both. I’ve purchased every premium character, so I feel I’ve spent enough on this event that I should be able to get those two. Q and Kilngon Meg don’t seem to be much help though.
There’s still 8 days, so I’m hoping the next two levels of Bertram really up the dark matter and crystals. I’m also curious to see how hard/expensive it will be to get Scotty, Khan and Borg Consuela. Tiny Co has always been good about making adjustments to make attaining things possible. I’ve spent 925 clams on this event so far. Only on premium characters, not premium rooms, buildings or speeding up tasks. Figuring that you always get some clams back through game play, it’s probably closer to 700 that I actually paid for. So I’ve spent out-of pocket over $20. But if Scotty and Khan cost clams, that would probably get me close to $35. I feel that’s a little steep at more than 50 cents a day for an event. If I don’t end up with Kirk and Picard, that’ll probably be it for me as any kind of a premium player. I’ll stick with the regular districts and may skip events. As you guys always say, if your not feeling you are getting enough out of the game, then maybe it’s best to walk away.
I hope it doesn’t come to that and, like I said, Tiny Co has always been good about making things fair, even if it takes some adjustments. So I really hope I can keep playing and enjoying the game the way I have since the beginning.

Get Picard. His contributions to the Bertram battles will likely more than make up for what you spent on him in terms of allowing you to get Kirk.

Is anyone else having trouble leveling up? I just hit level 9 yesterday and I’m pretty sure the event will be done before I reach level 10 and upgrade the core lol. I need bigger battles for the bigger payouts. It’s my only hope of getting Kirk….

Go to the different Event posts using the Star Trek Event page and see all the items available to get via Materials or Dilithium for the Event. Many have lots of XP payout and can give you a boost in your game. 😉

I’m pretty discouraged by this event. I’m still working on Dr. Crusher and Vulcan Quagmire with a ways to go on both, nowhere near even starting the Bertrand battles, and this is after having played 3 times a day each day (and sometimes more). Either I’m absolutely clueless about how to do this event, or I’ve been on the wrong side of the drop rates, or it takes more than 3 times a day to be further along, or cheapskates like me who purchase only a single premium character (Spock — mostly out of nostalgia as I’m an older guy who grew up on the original series) haven’t bought enough premium stuff to progress more effectively. In any case, my level of participation has in the past been enough to get most of the free stuff by the end of the event, and for this one I’ll miss quite a bit of it even after having participated as fully as I’m able — I just can’t sneak a login every hour or two and I do like to sleep at night 🙂

Yeah, unfortunately you needed to be ready to retask everyone as soon as they were done with this event just because of the item load for the unlocks. You said you were doing 3 logins a day usually and some item needed 40+ items. That was almost 2 weeks just to have an opportunity to get all the items if you were to get them each time never mind uncommons and rare drops.

As a huge Trekkie I was over the moon when I found out there was a Star Trek event. I’m hoping to unlock doctor crusher, data and talosian stewie before the event ends. (Getting captains Picard and Kirk will be a bonus lol). Just wanted to say thanks to TinyCo for making a Star Trek event and to keep up the good work. I know there are a lot of unhappy people playing this game, I am the opposite, I love it 🙂 🙂

My only hold back is anti virus software for data and more DC. I have had herbert on it since he started every 2 hours except sleep for 3 days ive gotten 6 out of at least 30 attemps, I have 11 total the rest I got from crusher and peter combined 5. And I still need 17. You think at a 2 hour task between 3 characters it would have been the first to collect all of them. Got everything else except I still need a little under 2 grand of DC. thanks, nice poll. Thanks B&A.

Gotta give TinyCo credit, seems like they have really been listening to our whining throughout the event and helping out at every step. That being said I really hope the final chapter either lowers the amount of Anti-virus software needed for data or offers more ways to get it. I’m pretty much done with Data item collecting, but only have 6/25 anti virus due to needing Peter and crusher in my quest lines. Poor Herbert…. I Finally get the exo costume and the guy can never get on the enterprise as he’s my cheif anti virus collector 😦

I recommend to postpone the quest lines, they are not that important to advance in the event. You can enjoy them later when the characters have more free time, or do the tasks over a longer time period when you don’t log in to the game, like at night

If it weren’t for Stewie’s sunscreen it would be an A+. This penultimate week that one factor has made it horrible. Previously there was always one sticky drop that didn’t – but there was a large total to aim for and you could see progress (even if you wanted it a bit faster). I didn’t experience any of the frustrations others had mentioned.
But 1 out of 6 sunscreens after five-and-a-half days is simply not fun. The double whammy is that it has halted my intent to clear up questlines – I had thought that with four freemium battling characters I would be able to maintain Bertram at level 3 and still send off characters to free things up Wednesday and Thursday for the final week. But now dropping fighters for 12 and 24 hour tasks is not an option.

I think I might have over estimated my dilithium collecting skills. I said I make 1000-2000 a day, but sometimes its not. but really that’s just because I now have all four freemium characters working on Bertram so I can beat him a few times a day now. But they do need to add a way for them to be made a little easier I think, though by the end of the event I’m sure all will be fine.
And do you think people actually have Kirk? I have no idea how anyone could collect 150 dark matters that quickly.

great poll. I said I did not like the Bertram battles for a couple reasons. 1, I don’t have enough characters to battle him and 2, it takes WAY too long to defeat him (4hrs) and WAY too long for him to recooperate after he gets stunned. however, if circumstances change, I may actually start enjoying the battles.
for all the characters I unlocked, lois, locates, troi, crusher, I got most items, but got fed up in the end and dropped about 30-40 clams per character to finish off their items. So I guess Tiny co got what they wanted from me. Frustrated player using clams to get the characters. I really don’t see how in the 8 days left in the event, how I can possible unlock the rest of the charaters left.
anyway, I also wanted to know. I do want to purchase some clams as I only need 55 clams to get quagmire right now. so I am willing to drop 55 on him. however, I need to purchase more clams first. BUT….before I do, does anyone know if TC will be having another clam deal soon. I would rather wait for a Clam deal then to buy clams out right. I sent TC an in game msg asking them about another clam deal. not sure if they will answer me on this one.

This is what I do, I go looking locally for App Market Gift Card sales. Like my local Costco always has iTunes cards on sale. So that helps your money go further. Even if its just like a 15% sale. Check online too for specials. Amazon has their coins on special at times. That way I know my money is going further. As far as sales, nothing I see so far. They usually don’t announce them in advance.

Since my account is linked, I can log into any device there is to use any App Market Gift Cards. So… I multi task. If iTunes are on sale, I use my iPod to log in (or borrow someone’s iOS device). Same with Amazon. Having an account makes logging in n out easy. Just long enough to make the purchase, then back to my GS4 to play. 😉

You don’t have to “link” anything. It is just a matter of logging in n out. Load up the device, go to the Apple Market, log in to YOUR account, then launch the Family Guy app and log in to that. Then buy. Then get out of your game and then go log out of the App Market. (Unless you own the device… then it won’t matter)

I play 2 or 3 times every day, I collect then assign tasks for all 74 characters. With a little over a week to go I am still working on 8 active quest lines, 7 unlocked characters (not counting Cansuela borg) and I have spent way to many frackin clams already. HELP! (I’m givin’ ‘er everything I’ve got captain!)

I gave the event an overall A and I’ve been very happy, but I broke my freemium stance for this event and have spent more money than usual. Not buying EVERYTHING, but I wanted to have all the characters, and so far, I bought them all. Worf, Guinan, Q, Klingon Meg, and Spock. I feel like having all the premium characters have really helped me enjoy the event, and if I hadn’t, I would be just as upset as freemium players (which I would be if this were anything but Star Trek).
Perhaps an additional option to say if you spent clams on the event? I think that will definitely skew the results.

Great poll. Can’t wait to see the results. I must say that the latest upgrade as it pertains to Stewie and Data have been the most fair of the event. Challenging but very doable within the time frame so you could utilize those characters for the remainder of the event. I got Stewie this morning so I should get Picard by tomorrow which means I will be ready for the big Bertram battles once the final upgrade takes place. That’s the TinyCo we have come to know and love. Here’s hoping the heart monitor numbers aren’t too outrageous that Kirk becomes an impossibility.

The reason we don’t like Bertram battles needs an “other” reply box. I picked Not enough characters, but the bigger reason is that I have so many characters and skins to unlock at the same time, plus too many long tasks in overlapping quests (Klingon Chris and Riker are the worst) that I can’t do everything. If the number of items to collect were about half of what they are I’d be fine, especially for the later characters. 50 of anything is way too many and there are multiple characters that need at least that many of something.

I gave this one an A even though I really don’t like star trek. I have no idea who these people are. But I love that most of the action is not happening “in town”. The away part seems to really brought a hault to the crashes which were happening way too often. Another well thought out event for our little game. Truly excellent work. Now if only it was about something I cared about. Sorry trekkers lightsaber beats phaser thingy any day. Why go explore a planet when Tarkin is just gonna blow it up anyway!

Clarification. Sorry for the confusion. I have not kept track of how many crystals per day and from where I am getting the most. I do know that getting crystals has been a grind and may come up short in the end. Would love to send Chris to Acapella, but I need him to fight Bertram. Lot of Catch-22 going on this event.

That is more for the AFTER event polling. This is to see where people are. We all know with Premiums, just looking at the Math post, they will give you a boost in collections.

I only did it live so you all could see instantly where each other was. Sadly… it kept turning into a WTD session. So to help ME better compile stats for what we do best, I went this route to isolate the information.

Moving along but Data is giving me troubles… I would usually have close to what I need to finish the new character in the current phase but the Anti-Virus software is certainly rare if not epic. I mean I have been sending Herbert on his 2 hour task pretty much any time I can since the start of the phase and he has maybe dropped 2 or 3. I only have 12 of the 28 needed so Data will not be unlocked by the time the final phase hits.
This makes me sad
Also, I had been good on crystals up until this phase… I need…… I’m seriously here…… I NEED Kirk. So please Tiny Co. Take it easy on us for the last phase… Let Kirk be the only one who needs crystals left in the game… PLEASE!! Borg Consuela I want but if she costs crystals I will not be getting her. But I want her too! Cry face!

I’m in the same boat. That Anti-Virus drop rate is horrible. I’ve had Herbert, Peter & Bev on it full-time, and so far, I’m only halfway there. Everything else is done with the exception of cat food, and i’ll have that in a few hours. (hopefully)

i filled it in…wahoo!! but yeah like many its taking forever to collect the lotion for stewie and anti-virus for data. let’s hope tomorrow’s update comes with a kick in the pants to the drops for those two like they did two weeks ago.
