Hey there Tribblemakers!
Warp Core 6 is now live in our games and we now have a 2 more Borg Bertram’s to Battle. So what kind of changes can you expect with the new Bertram and the Characters to help out to get Dilithium Crystals and Dark Matter?
As far as the Basics on How To Defeat Borg Bertram, see the main post on him HERE.
Let’s take a look at the New Boss Battles now.
WHO CAN I USE TO BATTLE BORG BERTRAM?
The same 5 Characters are still available to attack Bertram. None new have been added nor do I believe they will.
Geordi – 1 to 2 Damage.
Klingon Chris- 1 to 2 Damage.
Picard- 2 to 3 Damage
Talosian Stewie- 2 to 3 Damage
Guinan- 2 to 3 Damage.
As you can see, just the FREEMIUM Characters will help out immensely. Focus on getting Talosian Stewie or Picard unlocked to help out all you can.
WHAT KIND OF PAYOUT WILL WE GET?
Outside of the basic 15 Dilithium Crystals & 3 Starfleet XP you get from each Character, you will also get a higher amount of both after you completely defeat the Heart Level to Zero on Bertram along with some Dark Matter. Here are the Payouts including the New Borg Bertams.

Side Note: The Dilithium and Starfleet icons tend to hide within the Dark Matter, so no worries if you don’t catch it right away, you can always watch your count go up on the Crystals and the XP bar to flash to know they are adding. 
HOW DO I DEFEAT BERTRAM?
In order to be able to get all these cool extra Payouts, your mission is to COMPLETELY drain the Heart Meter on Bertram to Zero within the 24hrs you are being timed on. So you will have to watch your game and as soon as one Battle is done, start another immediately to make full use of all the time you have. Here are some ideas of strategies.
Tap only ONE Character at a time (See tips at end of post), if that Character does not complete the Damage needed, send them again right away on the Battle task
Clawed Borg Bertram: 5 Hearts
With 2 Characters (Geordi & Chris), you will need to send them to Battle Bertram at LEAST 2 times each. Depending on the Damage they apply, you may need to go one more time.
Example:
- Geordi- 1 to 2 Damage, sending him twice will give you at least 2 Damage
- Klingon Chris- 1 to 2 Damage, sending him twice will give you at least 2 Damage
- This Boss requires 5 Damage, so if one or the other hits with a 2 Damage instead you will be done. If not, you will need to send at least one of them another time.
With 3 Characters this will be easy.
Drill Master Borg Bertram: 10 Hearts
With 2 Characters (Geordi & Chris), you will need to send them to Battle Bertram at LEAST 4 times each. Depending on the Damage they apply, you may need to go one more time.
Example:
- Geordi- 1 to 2 Damage, sending him 4 times will give you 4 Damage at the Lowest
- Klingon Chris- 1 to 2 Damage, sending him 4 times will give you 4 Damge
- This Boss requires 10 Damage. If one or the other hits with a 2 Damage twice, you will be done. If not you will want to send them both for a 5th time just in case.
With 3 Characters, how many times you send them will depend on the extra Character and the Damages inflicted. It can be done with two, but 3 will make less time have to be spent on the Battle.
Laser Borg Bertram: 18 Hearts
With 2 Characters (Geordi & Chris), this one will be difficult. You will need to utilize the tip below and hope that each hit gives you the highest possible damage on Bertram before the time runs out. Making sure you are there the moment they are done to reset. Focus on getting another Character unlocked to help (Picard and/or Talosian Stewie) if you do not have Guinan.
Example:
- Geordi – 1 to 2 Damage, sending him on 5 Battles will give you 5 Damage at the lowest, 10 at the highest
- Klingon Chris- 1 to 2 Damage, sending him on 5 battles will give you 5 Damage at the lowest, 10 at the highest
- Get a head start on this one using the tip below. That will give you a possible 5-6 more attack chances per Character to get him.
With 3 Characters (Geordi, Chris, Picard/Stewie), you should be able to complete this one.
Example:
- Geordi – 1 to 2 Damage, sending him on 5 Battles will give you 5 Damage at the lowest
- Klingon Chris- 1 to 2 Damage, sending him on 5 battles will give you 5 Damage at the lowest
- Picard or Stewie- 2-3 Damage, sending just one of them on 5 battles will give you 10 Damage at the lowest
So even at the WORST possible payouts, a total of 20 Damage can be made. This Boss only needs 18.
Bladed Borg Bertram: 28 Hearts
With 2 Characters (Geordi & Chris), this Boss will be impossible to defeat. You need at least 3 or more to be able to go any further.
With 3 to 4 Characters, this Boss will be a bit easier to Battle.
Example:
- Geordi– 1 to 2 Damage, sending him five times will give you at least 5 Damage.
- Klingon Chris– 1 to 2 Damage, sending him five times will give you at least 5 Damage.
- Picard OR Talosian Stewie OR Guinan– 2 to 3 Damage, sending one of them five times will give you at least 10 Damage.
- This Boss requires 28 Damage, so if anyone of them hits with the higher Damage instead at least 8 times total between the 3, you will be done. If not, you will need to keep sending them and depending on luck, may not be successful. Keep in mind I am factoring the LOWEST possible Damage.
With 3 Characters this will be a bit tricky as you can see. You will be hoping that at least 8 hits yield that higher Damage and push you to the defeat. It is best to get a 4th Character involved at this point. With 4 Characters even at the lowest earning, you will get 30 Damage and defeat him in 5 tries easily if not faster.
Cannon Borg Bertram: 40 Hearts
With 2 Characters (Geordi & Chris), this Boss will be impossible to defeat. You need at least 4 or more to be able to go any further. With 4 Characters, this Boss will be a bit easier to Battle.
Example:
- Geordi– 1 to 2 Damage, sending him five times will give you at least 5 Damage.
- Klingon Chris– 1 to 2 Damage, sending him five times will give you at least 5 Damage.
- Picard– 2 to 3 Damage, sending him five times will give you at least 10 Damage.
- Talosian Stewie– 2 to 3 Damage, sending him five times will give you at least 10 Damage.
- This Boss requires 40 Damage, so if anyone of them hits with the higher Damage instead at least 10 times total between the 4, you will be done. If not, you will need to keep sending them and depending on luck, may not be successful.
With 4 Characters, you will want to use the Tip below to get a head start on this Boss. Then you can knock out a battle right away and have better luck on having time to start another Battle if needed. It can seem tricky, but I have successfully beat him 5 times in a row with just 4 Characters battling him. (Not Guinan.)
If you add in Guinan 2-3 Damage to this mix, you can easily defeat this Boss as she will add at least 10 more Damage on her lowest for 5 tries. So not only will it go faster, but you will have more battles to get you the payouts of Dark Matter and Dilithium you want.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I DEFEAT HIM?
If you are successful in Battling Bertram and completely Damaging the Heart Meter to Zero, you will get the Borg Bertram Payout listed above and he will then go into Cool Down for 4hrs. When he awakens, it will be the next Level up. The timer will then restart at 24hrs again. (You can’t send anyone to Battle while he is in Cool Down.)
So if you are on the Claw Level and are successful, he will awaken at the Drill Master Level and so on.
Once you reach the CURRENT highest Level (Cannon Borg Bertram) and defeat him, he will reawaken at that same Level again. So keep going and going and going as long as you can to keep him there as you will get the best possible payout and earn the Materials you need really fast.
SO HOW LONG IS THE COOL DOWN?
4hrs. He will go into Cool Down if you Defeat his Heart Meter to Zero as well as when the 24 timer runs down. You can see how much time is left on his cool down by tapping on him. The countdown timer will be in the lower right corner of the Pop Up. You CAN’T send anyone to Battle while he is in Cool Down.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I CAN’T DEFEAT HIM?
If you can’t get the Heart Meter to Zero within the 24hrs, Borg Bertram will go into his Cool Down period for 4 hrs and awakens back at the first Boss Level (Claw). You will NOT get any Payout for losing other than the task payout on the Characters. The timer will then restart at 24hrs to start Battling the Claw Borg Bertram.
CAN I PAY CLAMS TO TRY AGAIN?
If you missed a Battle Defeat and Borg Bertram went into Cool Down, there is an option to keep the Battle going. But this will cost you… a LOT. I do not recommend this at all. Not unless it is really worth it to you. Why? Because the cost of Clams will vary. On the Level of Borg he is and the amount of Hearts left on the Heart Meter when he timed out. This can cost you between 5-500 Clams to restart his Battle again!!
This will ONLY work if he is in Cool Down AND you did not defeat him in 24hrs. If you seriously want to spend your Clams to do this, all you do is tap on Borg Bertram when he goes into the Cool Down and a pop up will appear. You will see the cost YOU will have to pay to restart Borg Bertram back at the EXACT Borg Level and Heart Meter he was at when he went down. Again, the cost will vary on YOUR Borg Bertram.
If you take the offer and pay Clams, you will then get another 24hrs to try to Defeat Borg Bertram again. Otherwise, you can let him time out and restart back at the LOWEST Borg Level, Clawed Borg Bertram.
Just remember, this choice is YOURS to make and a decision you will have to decide…. is it worth it to YOU to do it??
HELPFUL TIPS!!
- IF YOU ALREADY ARE IN WARP CORE 6 NOW, SKIP THIS TIP!! This first tip is completely YOUR choice. You do not have to do this unless you feel it may help YOU. Try at your own risk… In past Events with the Boss Battle, players held OFF Upgrading to the next Level. This kept them with just the 3 lower Boss Battles and made it easier to continue battling what is basically right now the 3rd Boss (Laser Bertram). So if you would like to give this a try, feel free to.
- This next tip is one we focused on before. It is essentially getting AHEAD of the Battles. Always send every Character you possibly can to Battle Bertram. When you are ready to tap the checkmark to complete the Battle, only tap ONE at a time. For instance, only tap Geordi. If he did not help to defeat Bertram and there are still hearts left, send him again on attack right away. Same with other Characters. This will leave them timing down while Bertram is in the cool down period and essentially saving YOU 4 hrs of play time to Battle him. Then wait… once he is back up and his Heart Timer is back in view counting down, THEN tap on their checkmarks. This will make it so you start the Battle right away instead of 4 hrs later. You CAN’T send anyone to Battle him once he goes into Cool Down, so make sure you send them all BEFORE.
- Finally, watch the Heart Meter. As it gets down to just a few left, clear ONLY the Character that will most likely finish him off. In other words, if he only has 1-3 Hearts left on the meter, don’t use Picard that does 2-3 damage to finish him off. It will be a waste of the hits Picard can make. Use instead Geordi or Chris as they are a 1-2 damage. This will leave the higher Heart Damage Character to continue waiting until Bertram Cools Down and resets. Unless you want Picard free for another task line that is LESS or same as 4hrs. Then go ahead. But it will always be wisest to keep the Highest Damage Characters Battling during Cool Down. It may make the next kill much faster and you to have better success.
OVERALL TIPS/HINTS
- Get as many Characters Battling as possible.
- Keep Characters Battling during Cool Down to help save time.
- Tap only ONE Character check mark at a time, and wait.
- Reset Character to Battle again as soon as you tap on their check mark to help save time.
- Keep Borg Bertram on HIGHEST possible Borg Level to get the best payouts possible.
- DO NOT LET TIME RUN OUT! It’s costly.

I tried the ‘Borg Bertram Battles’ Cannon Borg Bertram twice and missed it by only a few minutes since I only had 4 battling (w/o the premium character Guinan).
~ Woke up every 4 hours! I’m glad this even is done!

Unfortunately, during the last battle with Geordie, Stewie and Chris fighting Bertram level four, I am left with only one tick on the heart meter to go and still two hours of fight time left over. Since battles take four hours, I can’t defeat Bertram without paying clams. If I take the clam deal when the two hours is up, will I have to start over at zero progress from Bertram level four, or will I restart at the current meter reading which is only one tick away from finishing off Bertram at level four? Because I really need the 25 dark matter to get Picard and don’t want to drop all the way down to level one again.

Two options lie there… put a Character to task and speed them up with Clams… or let Bertram go to Cool Down and see what the Clam cost is to revive him at same heart level he left and damage he had left with another 24hrs to attack.

Is it just me or are the odds of getting the better attacked damage (i.e. 3 for Picard and Stewie; 2 for Geordi and Chris) extremely low? In my last 20 attacks I have only got the better option 3 times (every hit I am hopeful but end up thinking “seriously, again?!” when the lower damage is done again). With four characters and 5 attacks each, you need a 50% success rate so by lunchtime I am already having to rush jobs to get extra shots in. Have spent nearly 100 clams over the last 3 days making this possible, just to get Joe (wish I had given up after Kirk!).

It is random. I got the 3’s a good amount of times. Same with the 2’s on the others

I must be having super bad luck then. Spending around 30 clams to finish attacks early means I will have 4 characters attack 6 times each today but so far have done only 26 damage (min possible 24, max 40) and need another 14 from possible 12-20. Similar yesterday (same clams, just made it) although Sunday was fine without clams.

If the event ends when it is scheduled to I may not have enough time left to get Joe’s costume.
2 nights ago I had almost enough dark matter, all I needed to do was finish off Bertram one final time. I had enough time left that all I needed was one final click to beat him. But I fell asleep and woke up less that 5 minutes after the timer ran out.
So I had to start over from level 1, and am currently waiting for the level 4 Bertram to respawn. Unfortunately I will still be a couple dark matter short when I beat him, and I don’t know if I have the time to make it completely though level and level 5 before the event ends (not to mention that even if I can get him in time, I won’t have time to do whatever his quests are).

Please, TinyCo, can you make dark matter craftable from other energy(orange, yellow, green and blue). This would be amazing and I would be very pleased. Thank you for my favourite game!

Excellent suggestion, I have an excess of orange yellow green and blue also and would love to be able to convert in into dark matter or dilithium. I won’t be able to get Kirk but I have a decent shot at Joe but only if I can beat the highest incarnation of Bertrum to get the dark matter I need to unlock Joe’s skin. That’s going to be tough unless they extend the event by a day or so. I’m very pleased by all the new characters I’ve been able to unlock and it’s been a very fun event.

I really hope that TinyCo ends up extending the game! I lost more than 12 hours while on level 5 Cannon Bertram because I got shut out of Enterprise until TinyCo got it fixed. So now I’m back to level 1 again. I’m sure there were others too that had the same problem.
I wrote to them to either reimburse me for the clams necessary to extend the level (long shot I know!) or extend the game. They never replied, but glad to hear they are considering from one of the posts above. Everyone who got locked out of Enterprise because of the glitch should write to TinyCo for an extension!

I have enough Dilithium, and I now need 57 dark matter for Kirk. I should be on track to beat Bertram for 50 by tomorrow afternoon, and I can try to repeat that feat for the rest I guess. If it comes down to it, I could either spend clams and rush tasks, or try the mystery box.

The hits during cool down is a fantastic tip.
I did use 10 clams to speed up and defeat Bertram once. I needed the sleep so left him to reset after getting Kirk lol.
On a side note I am getting LOTS of free clams from the Borg cube mission!

Not sure if this is the right place for this. Contacted TinyCo in game requesting an extension, as you suggested. They responded. “We want y’all to finish. We are not sure how that will be done. We will have an announcement by the end of day Tuesday April 28”.
There is hope.

I’m revealed. I just got Kirk last night so I am done with this event. Yes, I have almost every single questline still in progress (Pike Joe is STILL crashing my game when I try to end his task) but it doesn’t matter, I have every outfit and character now! The Cannon Borg Bertram really helped me out! 😀

Oh thank god they’re paying out Crystals I was about to cry since I couldn’t manage to get enough of them for Joe, Kirk and then Data I am raging that send crew members to get the 500+ crystals isn’t working well O_O;;;

Can anyone confirm what time the event ends on the 30th? I am guessing 6:00 EST (like the updates) but am not sure. Or please let me know where the in game timer is – I’ve looked for it and can’t find it since the last update.

I think a tip is if you do feel like spending clams, never restart the fight. Instead try to complete the boss like normal, however set an alarm to go off a couple minutes before the timer is about to run out. If there are still a few hearts left, just rush end the jobs.
I did this yesterday. I had 3 hearts left and just about to run out of time. I spent 3 clams to rush complete the task to get my payout. I have a feeling I may need to do the same today.

I just got enough spare Crystals to buy Vulcan Quagmire. Now all I need is 4 Anti-Virus to unlock Data, which I should have before the end of the day. Beverly and Herbert are good at dropping them, but Peter is no help.
Getting Joe is still a major challenge. Game won’t drop Catheders. Hopefully, with V. Quagmire they will with going on Missions, which has yet to happen. I got Crystals, but never Catheders even though they’re suppose to be easier to get.

I have to say that with 4 characters (no Guinan) I have managed to beat Bertram 4 times already and am hours from a 5th victory. The hint Bunny provided about keeping them battling during the cool down period has helped lots and with this I can even afford to miss a few hours during the night for sleep!! Once I get Pike Joe I think I will be done and will crack on with the quest lines!

Okay, if the trandter is gonna play nicely and give me enough dilithium, I might actually have a chance to get captain Kirk. I did the math and it looks like I’m gonna miss out on Pike Joe. Just gotta swallow up my pride and admit defeat. It’s hard, cause I’ve always been kinda a freemium completionist. But hey, at the end it’s just a costume and we get new costumes that make the old ones useless all the time, so no biggie. Now, looks like I have to shorten my daily sleep period to 3 hours, to be able to get enough dark matter for Kirk, maybe also spend a few clams, but I’m ready to do this. The sad part is that even though I’m ready to put so much work into getting him, I have no idea who captain Kirk is, but I just can’t miss out on a free character. Looking at those blank spaces in my facespace just makes me sick. (BTW, does anyone know when Bryan Cranston is coming back? I had no idea who he was last 2 times he was offered, so I found his price ridiciulously high for one character. But now that I’ve seen Breaking Bad, I just need him in my town!).
I’ve really loved the event so far. I have a love for everything involving science or technology, so I guess that’s the reason I’ve got so much into the event, even without knowing much about Star Trek. Oh yeah, thanks Tinyco for adding Q! Q, Spock and enterprise were the only things I knew about Star Trek when coming into the event. And Q is a guy who blends the rules of galaxy, he was played by John De Lancie and Discord’s character is based on him… so I snatched him up without a second doubt.
So, yeah, great event tinyco! Just one more thing,please Tinyco, add a dilithium mystery box, with the prices of the Warp cores and Borg Bertram. Thanks Tinyco for all you’ve done!

I have never seen a single episode of Star Trek, not the original, nor the next generation. The concept of the show sounds exciting, I just haven’t got around to watching it. Only scenes I’ve seen of Star Trek are a few scenes with Q, that I found on youtube. He’s such a fun character.

So far I have beaten level 5 Bertram four times in a row with my four freemium characters, unlocked Kirk and Data yesterday and Captain Pike today. I will keep going in order to get the remaining buildings and replicator items, which I’d stopped for a while to focus on Bertram and getting the characters. So in combination with constantly sending teams to the Borg Cube for 500 Dilithium Chrystals, the high amounts of currency needed for the characters could actually be earned as a freemium player. (I bought three premium characters, but none of them are involved in my heavy DC earning)
But I really had to plan my day around the 4 hour intervals. I am glad, TC did not “patch” the tactic to have characters battling Bertram during his cool-down time, which added a much needed first strike and effectively gave me five strikes for each 24hr battle… and some real sleep.
Too bad I probably won’t be able to play through my 12 currently open ST quests before the event comes to a close.

I’ve noticed on 6 seperate times of collecting Guinan now (I’ve collected her many more times than this) that Bertram’s health bar didn’t go down at all or only went down 1. I thought after seeing it happen twice as I look at the bar after collecting each character to see how much damage they did, that my eyes were having trouble focusing on those tiny lines. But I decided to mirror my screen with my Apple TV and use my 52″ TV to watch while collecting. I also had my sister and a friend both watch the bar on the tv and on 4 additional collecting of Guinan, it has given 0 or 1 damage. I’ve reported it to tinyco but they’re focused on some enterprise glitch because that was the automated response I got. So I feel somewhat ripped off that I spent 200 previous clams on her and she at times doesn’t do the minimum damage that I rightfully paid to have her for.

Not sure where to post this but does anyone have any guesses what the next event or theme will be? I’m not a Star Trek fan and ot can’t finish fast enough! Does anyone think that May the 4th (Be with you) be happen or have something or maybe this weekend for the big fight and we could see Flloyd Wetherton (The champion boxer in a random episode) turn up in Quagmire?!

Just realised how backwards my typing has been there so thanks for replying..turn up in Quagmire, I know he is a bit freaky but I did mean Quahog! Ha!… Yeah that was my thoughts too about the mousey trademarks…I’m a premium player but nothings popping up to persuade me to spend my clams currently but I know this will have been very popular for others, However I’m not a Star Trek fan and found this very hard going but still managed to get Kirk etc without too much trouble(Wish I could give characters away as I’m sure there are people who would appreciate him more!) ….Do we have any news or guesses for the next event/theme

I’ve had him at Cannon level since Friday, so now I have tons of Dilithium Crystals and Dark Matter, I nearly lost the streak yesterday as I went to see Age Of Ultron with my mates, just made it back with minutes left and thankfully all my characters did max damage. I’m holding on to my Crystals just in case they add a mystery box you can use them on, would love to get the last Giant Tribble, and one of the Borg.

I wanted to thank you for the hitting during cool down tip. I was really new to the game at Christmastime so I had an enormously hard time with the yetti. With this tip bertrom has been not so bad, (besides when the game crashed after I beat him and I went back in and he had one health- frustrating) should have Kirk later today and Joe tomorrow.

I feel like a crazy person for being so angry at myself for falling asleep. I literally had like 3 minutes left for my characters to finsh their task of defeating Bertram, 2 hours left on the clock, and I had several alarms set to wake me up. I must have subconsciously laid down bcuz I don’t remember doing so. I was so disappointed when I realized that the timer ran out, but I refused to start all over again bcuz I don’t think I would have had enough time to get Kirk and Joe if I did. So I reluctantly spent the 80 clams it cost to stay at the cannon borg bertram level. Smh -_- Oh the struggles of a FGTQFS Addict. Lol

I was like that last night – in the end I spent clams to speed the characters up because I knew I wouldn’t stay awake for them to finish, probably would have worked out a lot cheaper for you too – probably only 1 clam per character to speed them up…

Same with me here. I did set the 4 hour alarm but I missed it most of the time as its required a lot of tasks.
One of the time I accidentally reset Geordi’s 4 hour Bertram task to 12 hr because of the lagging screen and I tapped him too fast therefore I had to resort to 24 clams to finish that task instantly in order for him to continue on. 😦
I did acquired Kirk today and I’m happy to get Guinan to help as Kirk’s tasks are interesting. I just wish TinyCo could create a reset button for battling bosses like this Bertram in the future so as to not scroll all the tasks and confused oneselfs especially in the middle of a deep sleep.

I have a additional tip. Because the battle is 24 hrs and the individual tasks are 4 hours the most complete battles you can do is 5 (6 If you count the head start). The reason for this is even if you start 5 seconds after the start of the 24 hrs and are there to resend each character exactly four hours later the last round will end 5 seconds after the 24hrs is over so it won’t count, except as a head start for the next one if you don’t click on them. My tip is to rush all their jobs 15 minutes before the end of the 24 hrs. It will only cost you one clam for each but will allow you to get an extra round.

This is a very clear and helpful post. I can verify that with 5 characters, Cannon Bertram is beatable, even if you actually go to sleep and skip a 4 hour period. I have done this twice, but you have to be very precise on your timing.

I finally got Kirk today! It took beating Bertram like 4 times at the highest level to get enough for Kirk, Joe, and the rest of the replicator items. The only one I won’t get is Borg Consuela. It’s too risky to gamble.

I was soooooooo happy when I finally got Kirk and it was all because of Bertram. Now all I have to focus on is getting Joe’s costume and I’ll be done with the event. I could care less about the quest lines up to now and Borg Consuela is not on my agenda.

OMG! You are Superwoman. I don’t what I should call you, Superwoman or Wonder woman. How do you manage to do it all? IDK but you are amazing! How the heck do you find the time and mental strength and physical ability to do all that you do?
This is a really great post on the Bertram battles and I hope players that haven’t been through Yeti, and are having a hard time understanding it, can get the hang of it by reading this thoroughly.
My only advice is, whatever the highest level is that you can beat, STAY at that level (continuously). Like you said, do NOT let that clock run out. Max that level over and over again. if ya have to get your little sister, your Mom, your Dad, your girlfirend/bf, whoever, to hit it for you, before the time runs out! Lol 🙂

In doing the math, I don’t have enough time to unlock kirk and Joe’s outfit. I just now got the Picard outfit. I’ll just have to settle with Joe’s outfit. Just unlucky with drops this time. Oh well, first event I didn’t get all the freemium stuff. Thank you TinyCo for the great event and many thanks to the ladies for their work.

The Borg Cube from the transporter, people are getting good results from sending Peter, Lois and Quagmire together, it’s a 1 hour mission and only costs 1 Transporter Energy, if you get lucky you get 500 Dilithium, possibly a few thousand in a day.
It’s not guaranteed but it’s worth a shot.

What’s fixed? The latest version in the apple App Store, 1.7.6 crashes on startup for iOS 6.1.3. I’m locked out of the game and there is no new app version yet.

Usually I play freemium only, but I really wanted Kirk. I don’t think it would have been possible without Guinan. Keeping Betram at 40 hearts requires a lot of clock watching even with the extra character, often times between the 5 of them I only get 8-9 damage. Which means only 1-2 characters are getting the extra damage.
And don’t forget the number of times I’ve been in ‘tap the ticks’ mode and accidentally finished Picard’s task while Betram was still in cooldown, that is one of the most frustrating things. Considering the number of times my game crashes and makes me have to re-finish and re-send characters on tasks because it didn’t save, not once has that actually helped with on the Enterprise!
The good news is, I think i’ll only need crystals if I can defeat him today, and hopefully the transporter plays nice and gives me 500 instead of 5!
As much as I like star trek, I can’t wait for this event to end. It has gone on too long. I can only hope that there is a reasonable gap before the next event and that they give us some normal questlines to complete (that don’t require too many more buildings) so that I don’t have to check the game every hour!

Your tips are always helpful! Somehow, I didn’t think of reassigning the same character to fighting Bertram before clicking on another. So, I’m the idiot here. Saved by the Addicts!
Looks like I’m actually going to get Kirk! I was super worried, since I’d bought every character and most of the premium rooms but have been walking the razor on dilithium, but I’ll probably get him wednesday evening. I feel sorry for the true freemium players, since I’ve got everything and am having a hard time, setting alarms in the middle of the night and whatnot. Hope everyone gets what they want out of it and I have to say that the design and writing for this has been excellent- best event yet on that front. Nearly all the complaints have been related to drops and event currency.
One request you can add to the list of game improvements is this: when this event is over, I’m going to have to blow up my Quahog and set it up again. I’ve got separate sections for each event and a street network that’s realistic, so everyone can get around. It would be cool that, if in the inventory, it listed the dimensions of each item. Like- Mort’s Pharmacy 5×9 or whatever. It would really help with packing things in. Thanks!

With sending all 5 characters to battle Borg Bertram, there are many questlines I haven’t been working on or finished. Unfortunately, I love reading the dialog between the characters between parts. Do the questlines go away after the event?

Have all five fighters going, and it’s pretty easy as long as you can check back every four hours. I’ve even been able to send the characters (one at a time, usually no more than once per Bertram, unless they’re 4hr tasks) on tasks to advance their secondary quests. The “carry-over” strategy is the kicker. Do that and it allows for 6 attacks for up to all but one of your fighters, whereas normally five would be the limit. You want to try to have all of your Freemium/Premium fighters carry over for maximum effect, and thus aim for Geordi or Klingon Chris to strike the final blow each time. But even if you don’t, with five fighters you should be able to enter a new fight every 16-20 hours without difficulty.
RIght now I’m sitting at just over 12000 Dilithium and 119 Dark Matter, after basically emptying both when I got Picard Saturday afternoon. So it’s not that hard to pick up a lot of both in not a lot of time. Much of it is having beaten Bertram 5.0 twice since then, but the lion’s share has just been from sending characters on short 2hr tasks (with the occasional quest or item task), from regularly checking the Enterprise rooms and event buildings, and from sending Lois (or Lois and Quagmire if I can) to the Borg Cube every hour. You won’t get 500 Dilithium every trip (probably not even half), but you’ll get it enough, since you’re going every hour. Lois raises the chance to get Dilithium more than Clams, and Quagmire raises the chance to get both about equally, so I recommend sending both. If you’re looking to specifically farm Dilithium, don’t send Peter, since he actually raises the chance to get Clams more than Dilithium (never thought before this event that I’d ever be unhappy to get Clams). Obviously, if you do want to farm Clams, he’s your guy.
On a separate note, I finally upgraded my worn out phone for a new Note 4. As nice looking as I thought this game was on my old Galaxy S4, it is absolutely gorgeous on my new phone. The colors pop like you wouldn’t believe. Highly recommended.

You are sure his heart damage was completely to zero? Nothing at all left? He gave you payout of Dilithium and Dark Matter?

I have already unlocked Kirk with the dark matter I got from beating Bertram. And once I beat him again I will have enough to unlock Joes character. Once I have both of them unlocked… Is there a need to keep battling him? I personally do not feel there is, but I don’t want to let him get all the way back to level one and then suddenly need him again.
