Initial Impressions

Quest for Stuff Promo ArtNow that the game has launched, I had a chance to sit down with the game and gather some of my initial impressions.

I should mention that I did not participate in the beta, and that I did not seek out any information about the game prior to its launch. Like most new players, I came into the game not knowing what to expect. So, what did I think of it?

Quest for Stuff Quick Walkthroughs: Shopping District to Unlocking the School District

Hello there Clammers!

We last left off our walkthrough we had completed the quests from the start of the game & unlocking Clam Quarter, and Peter was just suggesting we unlock the Shopping District (District 3)!  So now we pick this back up with the complete quests that will pop up while in the Shopping District!

The Shopping District is where you’ll unlock Mort, Lois & Al Harrington’s.  By unlocking Al Harrington’s you’ll be able to start to build costumes and unlock more skins (& tasks) for your characters!

I tired to run this one a little bit differently than the first walkthrough & sort it via the questline, instead of it jumping all over the place (which the game itself will do).  Note: Questline is considered the entire task list that is required under a certain title.  For example Dollars and Sense Pt. 1, Pt. 2 etc.  This should help you keep track of what comes next in each questline & what you’ll need to do.  Keep in mind, with this game various quests/tasks can be running at once.  You can be in the middle of 1 questline and another questline will start, however the order in which the questlines appear may be different for each game.

Unlocking characters in the Shopping District takes a little more patience, as the list of “Stuff” required to unlock is longer, and the quantities of each are greater.  Take your time, try not to get frustrated when the items don’t appear.  Try a different task to unlock the item, or try working on a different item.

So let’s pick our walkthrough back up with Peter, Goldman’s Pharmacy & the quest for NEW stuff!

Character Overview: Peter Griffin

Hey There Clammers!

With the introduction of Family Guy: The Quest For Stuff there’s a whole cast of characters to unlock in your rebuild effort of Quahog!  These overview posts are designed to give you a quick breakdown of the characters, how you unlock them & their tasks so you can play FGG more efficiently!

Of course there will be those players who don’t want to know the details of unlocking the characters so for that reason we’ll post all of the details below the fold.  So if you don’t like to know what’s going on before you play don’t click read more…CAUTION SPOILERS AHEAD

First up on our character overview is Peter Griffin.  Peter is the first character that you’re introduced to in FG:TQFS and also the only free character (meaning you don’t have to purchase a building, using in game cash, to unlock him).  So let’s break down Peter and his tasks…..

UPDATED 4-19!!! Known “Bruce” Glitch: Family Guy The Quest For Stuff

We are aware of another issue that has popped up in our games. It seems many players are having a sneaky lil character harassing them in their game and JUST WON’T GO AWAY!! Lol. (I thought that was MY job.)

UPDATE: 4-19: As Alissa already pointed out in this post HERE, our great friend at TinyCo has informed us that this glitch is fixed as well as a few others. They are FAST over there. So get back in and back to playing your game. WOOHOO!!!

UPDATE 4-13 330pm EST from Bunny
TinyCo has now stated that all players should attempt the force close on their games to get rid of Bruce. The issue has been isolated and a link to it found. Now for the fun part…the issue is the Facebook social interaction. As a result, for at LEAST 1 to 2 Weeks, you will NOT be able to use the social aspects of the game. This is going to be disabled to protect all games from the Bruce issue until an Update Patch is completed and everyone can download it into their games from the iOS/Google Play Market.

From TinyCo

Facebook login will still work, but no adding friends, and no visiting neighbors.

People’s existing friends lists will be preserved. We’re just turning off the visiting/invite features temporarily.

So to recap, if you STILL have Bruce…force close your app and when the device restarts, you should have your access to your game back.

NO social aspect access to the game for 1 to 2 weeks.

I will still be keeping in touch and update you on when the patch becomes available for download. So for now, no friend access or play. But at least Bruce will be gone! OH NOOOOOOOOOOO!

The Golden Truth: Walkthrough/Answers About Golden Suit Peter

Hello There Clammers!

So yesterday I posted a full walkthrough from the start of the game to unlocking the Shopping District, however a few readers pointed out that I skipped the part where you make Golden Suit Peter.  However, Golden Suit Peter is available on iOS only, and while I have and iPad I mainly play these games on my Android devices.  But since I knew Golden Suit Peter existed and on iOS only, last night I broke out the old iPad 1 (yes, iPad 1…sorry iOS lovers I seriously love my Samsung devices!) and started a 3rd Family Guy game.

So many of you have questions about this questline: What do you do? How do you unlock it? Can I move it to my Android? Can I switch back and forth? So I’ve discovered the answers to all of these, so let’s take a look at just how this iOS exclusive deal works…

My First Impressions On The Game

Screenshot 1

I’d like to start by stating that there will be numerous comparisons to The Simpsons Tapped Out in this post. Both TV shows have been compared quite often and when this game was announced, it was presented to us as ”another tapped out game”. Although the names are different, there are stricking similarities that can’t go unnoticed. Keep in mind that the goal here is not to decide which game is the best but to give the readers a reference in explanations. Most of you came here from TSTO blogs and have played Simpsons Tapped Out and by exposing the similarities and differences between the 2 games, it will give you a better idea of what I’m talking about.  Also remember that this is just about my opinion after getting the first feel of Quest For Stuff as I may discover new things along the way that will change my mind (for better or for worse, who knows!) about certain aspects. Most of all, I hope you’re all as thrilled as I am to start a new game!

I love how they start off by saying the show is cancelled again. For those of you who may not know this, Family Guy was cancelled after its 3rd season in 2003. Because of the DVDs high sales, great ratings on the reruns airing on the Cartoon Network and Comedy Central, fans wrote in a petition to Fox whom ultimately decided to bring back the show permantly in 2005. It’s funny how the characters are seemingly aware that their lives are on television; and mad about the fact that they soon won’t be anymore. The fight with the giant chicken was priceless. It’s a classic from the show that will make all fans smile. I think they couldn’t have made a better video intro for the game.

Where did that come from? The Founding Father Restaurant

Hello there Quahogians! (Do you like that better than clammers?)

I’m here today to bring you a where did that come from on our brand new Family Guy: The Quest for Stuff game. There are lots of buildings, characters and decorations that have a strong resemblance to the TV show, and I’m going to bring you the history of them. Today, I am going to bring you the history of “The Founding Father Restaurant”.

building_foundingfathersrestaurant_

The Founding Father does not actually appear as much in Family Guy as you would expect. It makes it’s debut in the episode “Finders Keepers” (S12:E11) where the waitor of the restaurant tells Stewie that his placemat is a treasure mat, and Peter stops at nothing to find the “treasure”. When he eventually “gives up” Lois directs him to the Drunken Clam where he finds, behind a painting of Miles “Chatterbox” Musket (the founder of Quahog), an expired coupon for the Founding father. That is the only appearance that the restaurant make is the TV series. Now on to the game.

In the game, The Founding Father Restaurant enters the game with Bruce (A post about Bruce will be covered soon). The message that it gives when you are waiting for the money and XP, is “Microwaing Entrees…” and it generates $30 and 20XP over a four hour period.

I think that that’s all on The Founding Father Restaurant, I can’t wait until next time to bring you another post! In the meantime, Keep Questing!

Quest For Stuff Quick Walkthrough: Game Start to Unlocking the Shopping District

Hello There Questers!

We’ve got the first part of the walkthrough here from the basic game start up to unlocking the Shopping District.  Unfortunately, there are subtle differences in tasks and dialogue between the BETA and the full version of the game so this is being posted a little slower than I had hoped.  Hopefully they next sections should go up a little faster! 🙂

This basic walkthrough (dialogue free) will get you through the game start (tutorial) all the way to the point of unlocking the Shopping District.  Up to unlocking Quagmire the quests/tasks should be as indicated here.  After you’ve unlocked Quagmire I’ve just posted them as they appeared to me in the game, they may come in a different order for you but the quest is still the same.   Continue reading
