Addicts Question Corner Part 2: Comic-Con Event Questions Answered-Mutant Stewie, Ron Perlman, Crashing & More!

Hello There Clammers!

Here we are, week 2 into the event & Mutant Stewies have taken over Quahog! With new quests, new characters & new stuff to buy you guys, like the true Addicts you are, want to know just what the heck is going on with this event!  So it’s time to break out a Week 2 Edition of Addicts Question Corner, where hopefully we’ll answer the most burning questions about the update, but if you don’t see your question/answer just ask in the comments below & we’ll do our best to help you 🙂

As always, we’ve reached out to our good friends at TinyCo for confirmation on many of your questions & they delivered!  Special thanks to the Community Team over there for keeping us up to date on everything TQFS!  

The following answers have all been confirmed by TinyCo, BUT keep in mind it’s always subject to change…

-Ron Perlman-

Why Isn’t Ron Perlman in My Game?
In order to “find” Ron Perlman in Quahog you’ll have to complete Part 6 of the main Quahog Comic-Con Event.  (ie have Captain Hammered AND be prompted to rebuild the Convention Center.  Walkthrough can be found here)  If you haven’t completed that part, that’s why you won’t see him.

I’ve Completed Part 6 of the Questline but He’s Still Not In My Quahog, How Do I Get Him?
There’s a known glitch with Ron where he may not appear in your game, if you’ve completed part 6.  If you’ve completed Part 6 and you still don’t see him, hard close your game and restart it.  This should make him show up (in the Convention District).  TinyCo is working on a fix for this and it should be out with the next update.

IF it still doesn’t work for you, your best bet is to Contact TinyCo through the in game support.  (more info on that here)

Why Did I Lose 5,000 Blam! When I Unlocked Ron?
You didn’t lose it, you spent it.  Blam! is the currency for this event and anything that requires Blam! to unlock will take the Blam! from your on hand total.  However, it will not/does not impact your overall Blam! count, ie what you need to earn prizes.

Can I Keep Ron After The Event Is Over?
If you fully unlock him, yes.  See this post for more details

5,000 Blam! is a Lot, Do I Have To Unlock Ron?
No, you don’t.  But keep in mind some quests are triggered around unlocking characters (like unlocking Patrick Stewart triggers Mutant Stewies).  So if you don’t unlock him you might be missing out on something.  However, while we don’t know for sure, not unlocking Ron should not prevent you from getting future celebrity characters.

-Blam!-

 Why Is My Event Blam! Amount is Not Increasing When I Collect New Blam!?
Some players are reporting earning Blam! and their on hand total (top left, next to coins) increases but the event total (bottom right) does not increase.  If this is happening to you hard close your app and restart it.  This should catch your event total blam! counter up.

Where Did My Blam! Go?   I’m Missing Blam!
Remember…Blam! is needed for various things in the game.  Instead of purchasing buildings with coins you purchase them with Blam!  So when you repair or purchase a building OR when you unlock a character Blam! from your on hand total (again top left, next to coins) will be deducted.  However, your event total Blam! (bottom right) will not be impacted.

-Mutant Stewie-

Is Mutant Stewie Only Available For One Device?
No.  Both iOS AND Android (and Kindle) users can get Mutant Stewie in their game.  It’s not limited to one device.  From now on in the event all event updates will hit all devices at the same time, unless it specifically says it’s one OS or another.

How Do I Get Mutant Stewie In My Game?
You must complete Part 6 of the Quahog Comic Con questline (rebuild the convention center).  This pops up AFTER you’ve gotten the Captain Hammered Costume.
Previously we reported you needed Patrick Stewart to get him.  That’s no longer the case.  So if you have Captain Hammered and you’ve completed Part 6 of Quahog Comic Con and STILL don’t have Mutant Stewie in your town..send a report to TinyCo via the in game support.  (more info on that here)

How Often Does Mutant Stewie Spawn?
Mutant Stewies will spawn every 3 hours.

What’s the Max Number Of Mutant Stewie’s I can Have In My Town At Once?
6 is the max.

Does Mutant Stewie “jump” buildings?
Yes.  If not cleared from a building after 8hrs he will jump to another building.  But remember, a new Stewie can appear on that same building.

Mutant Stewie Kicked My Characters Out Of The Building, Is this Normal?
NO.  Mutant Stewie is NOT supposed to kick characters out of buildings.  He’s supposed to hold them hostage.  He’ll hold them hostage, but they’ll still continue with their tasks and the timer for the task will still tick down.
I know many of you have reported he kicked you out of the building, this should NOT happen.  If it happens to you send a report into TinyCo via the in game support system (more on that here).

Will Mutant Stewie Be Around For the Entire Event?
Yes.

Do I Have To Get Mutant Stewie?  Is There A Way to Skip It?
If you want to progress with the event & unlock more celebrities, you cannot skip Mutant Stewie.

How Much Blam! Do You Earn From Zapping Mutant Stewie?
50 Blam! for each one.

-Device Issues-

My Device Keeps Crashing Since I’ve Updated to the Comic-Con Event.  What Can I Do?
Check out this post for a response from TinyCo on the device crashing…
The biggest issue for the games crashing right now is a memory issue.  The event has brought a TON of items into Quahog, and because of this a lot of older devices can’t handle it.  So if you’re playing on an older device (for example my iPad 1 won’t update to the new one.  It just crashes) this is most likely the reason for it.

If you’re on a newer device (I saw some of you reporting issues with Galaxy S 5’s), try the basic troubleshooting first (uninstall/reinstall).  If that doesn’t work check to see how much free space you have on your device.  It’s possible TQFS is just sucking the memory from your device & crashing.  See if you can delete any used apps, that may help solve the issue.

TinyCo IS working on a fix for this.  Hopefully something is coming soon!

Where’s My Exclusive Item?
TinyCo DOES have something special planned for Android users regarding an exclusive item for this event.  However, it has not been released yet & they’re staying tight lipped as to when it will be.  As soon as it is we’ll let you know.

iOS Users Got An Extra Week To Earn Blam!, That’s Not Fair!
You’re right.  However, TinyCo is currently looking at ways to help Android users make up for the week of lost Blam!  Nothing has been announced yet, but I expect something to be in the works soon.  For now, sit tight and just earn as much Blam! as you can.  🙂

-Blam! Turning To Butts-

My Blam! Just Turned Into Butts, What Gives?
If you have a neighbor that has not updated out of the Full Moon Event & you visit them, once you return to your Quahog it’ll appear as if you’re collecting Butts.  First, this will NOT impact your Blam!  it collects as it did, just looks like Butts.  So don’t panic.  Second, to turn it back into Blam! visit a friend who has the Comic-Con Event.  That should restore your butts back to Blam!

Clarification on Nerd Spawns. 

Nerds will spawn until they max out as follows
Blue-12
Red-6
Yellow-4
