Hello There Clammers!
Well I take a night off to celebrate my cousin’s wedding and TinyCo decides to blow up the game! What the hell?! Oh wait wrong post… 😉
So looks like with all of the craziness of the failure to launch last night…things are finally starting to get under control. I know many of you are still locked out, but hopefully all will be restored soon.
Now that things are restored in some places we can get a look at what TinyCo had in mind for this weekend. Looks like the new item of the week(end) is Pesticide Mystery Boxes…
More details will be below the fold, but basically these are designed (as you can guess) to get you more pesticides to help you defeat Giant Stewie. However, they cost clams (95 clams each box) and in my own opinion…NOT WORTH IT. Save your clams! At least for now. If if gets to the last days of the event and you’re just shy of getting George (or another prize you really want) then it might be worth the investment.
So here are the details…
In your shopping cart you’ll see the Rupert Triplets…each holding a Mystery Box.
Each box contains one of the colors of pesticides you’ll need to beat Giant Stewie. Each box is guaranteed to yield 6, 9 or 12 pesticides of that color:
So for 95 clams you can buy pesticides to help you defeat Stewie faster. And so far those are the details of the weekend event that stopped Quahog. I’m sure there was more planned (at least based on the description from the app stores)…
I guess maybe the bombs blew up Quahog? 😉
Anyway…we’ll be back with more, if there is more. So what do YOU think of the update? Will you be buying boxes? Or taking your chances building up the pesticides from character tasks and zapping Stewies? Have you gotten back into your game yet? Family Guy Addicts 
I got a notification about an hour ago saying something about a new celebrity hitting Quahog. Has anyone gotten this notification as well? It mentioned something about Kevin Bacon at the end as well, but it didn’t seem like it was for any of the other celebrities we’ve gotten so far. Also, to agree with other people, I have 13 hams as well!

I’ve sent Tinyco a message, but I’m still earning Hams past the 10 mark, which seems a bit unfair since I’m now on 12 and I really could have used some other rare items

I had got about 15 hams before they stopped dropping for me. I was thinking that maybe a future character/skin would need them too. But I’m probably wrong and it’s just a minor glitch.

Has ANYONE gotten a sundae from Peter or Latcher Stewie? I have 10/15 cupcakes 12/10 hams & 0/10 sundaes. Were the sundaes affected by the glitch? Sent TC an email about this and other issues but have yet to hear back. Do the Addicts have any info?

I’m having the same glitch 13/10 hams. Defeated giant stewie 3 times in a row and dropped 3 hams. Hope it gets fixed, gonna send them a message.

Cupcakes and hams seemed to be a dime a dozen for me. got all of them and still NO sundaes. best thing is got em all through nerds/stewie/buildings. i did not do a single task to get them. only prob is now not sure how long to get them sundaes.
overall, buildings are being VERY generous to me right now for whatever i need. too bad no freebie sundae maker….

For the one that having the quest vanquish giant stewie 4 times ( look at the counter 0/3 ) where is number four. Hihi bugs getting better and better.
My advice finish it as soon as possible before it get to 0/4 hihi 1 free giant stewie kill.

The Facebook page in the comments on one of the posts says that they are extending the large mutant stewie for another 16 hours.

Thanks for all the help! I am now back in my game. But I have a fresh hell to report. I have Lois trapped in a building.(Fabulous Four HQ) She has the checkmark for a completed quest. The building is the color it turns when Octo-Stewie is on top of it. But there is no Stewie animation to target/laser blast. Hmmm.

We sent a message on the issue to TinyCO on it. I think the massive glitch from update took priority. Will update when they respond. 😉
In meantime, keep sending them reports if you’re getting the materials overage.

My Lois is trapped in the Fab 4 building since last night. Tried hard close/reset. I play on both phone and iPad and both devices when I click zap it just sits there. It’s frustrating. I hope they fix this soon.

Nope. It just puts you back into play mode as if you had tapped somewhere in the trees.

I have the same problem. I hard closed the game, even uninstalled and reinstalled but keep the screen continues to freeze if I try to zap a building with a character in it. I have emailed TinyCo and am awaiting a response.

I have read all of the posts and FAQs, but I want to make sure. if I have not built an account or linked to Facebook and whatnot, just playing straight from my iPad I need to wait for a pushed patch, correct. I do not uninstall.

Before I saw the post about un installing/reinstalling. I spammed the okay (or was it try again) button on the error message. After about 15 or 20 times the game did come back up. Try that, then you can look to see what, if any of your accounts are linked. Good luck!

I un/re-installed last night immediately as soon as it was a workable option. So I didn’t mid out on TOO much.. But a lot of people lost a lot of valuable blam collecting hours! Are they going to giveaway any thing over this crash that inconvenienced everyone?…

Quick question for ya! I saw on FB that you can do the uninstall/reinstall even if you hadn’t backed up your account, like my son, and we did it and it worked! We tried to link his to his Google + account after that but it won’t seem to do it so he created a username and is logged in that way now. Will that do the same thing as FB and Google+ for him if he ever had to uninstall/reinstall again?

It is a risk to uninstall anything withoug backing it up first. Most of the time the info is wiped out with the removal.
Once you’re linked, it’s backed up from that point on. So any future uninstalls are no worries.
If you lost a game from uninstall, you can try to contact TinyCo to see if they can repair it back.

I know this is a PG site, but does the way Rupert is holding these boxes make anyone else think the surprise inside would be something other than pesticides? Makes me think of a scene from Bachelor Party.

Much to high a price. If you speed up Peter’s 2h task 24 times it cost you 96 clams and you get double the max amount of pesticides. Color ist random, sure, but still the better choice, seeing that you could end up with only 6 instead of 24.

Anybody know why after i uninstalled and reinstalled and put my game back in i got it but when i tap the screen it doesnt respond to my finger and the box will pop up that says “activity family guy is not responding” and you can force close, wait, or report. I tried force close and wait and i rebooted my tablet and restarted the game but it wont respond to my finger.

Could be an issue with your device. Try force close and restart your device, see if that helps trigger it

So the game’s facebook 20 minutes ago posted that it was fixed and that you have to uninstall and reinstall. To me, it is hard for them they resolved the bug, if the solution is to have the player’s uninstall and reinstall the game. They keep making it easier for me to justify quitting the game.

Wow 29 green pesticides! That is a daunting task even with Walter White. I might have to put on everyone for this task. Should I buy the training center at all? I have 10,000 blam that has to go to Felicia Day and another 3,000 blam to Blobulous.

And reaching the 100,000 goal by the time is needs to be of blam, you’d hve to spend actual money so anyone past 80,000 or 90,000 come end of comic-con #wow pretty sad you spend your actual money on games

Yes apparently people have been paying actually money for games since the 1970s. As crazy as it sounds very few people are willing to work for free. That’s why they call it work, because they have to pay you to do it! Without the game developers working on this there would be no game in the first place. In essence these “sad” people enable you to be able to play Family Guy so you should be thanking them, not calling them names 😉

Against my better judgment, I am going to reply to this. If it were not for the ‘sad’ people paying actual money on games no one would get to play. It takes a lot of work and effort to create games of this caliber not to mention REAL money. You have the coders, the digital artist, testers, support, then you have the admin for running a business HR, rent utilities servers internet connections all of which are not cheap. Then the governments wants a piece in the form of takes. Let us not forget the voice acting, actors generally do not work for free either. So for someone to say it is sad for people to spend money on these games shows a disconnect from reality. As i have seen posted here everyone places a value on the game, some think it is worth to spend money they have for the entertainment. Others just want to play for free, which is fine by all means. There are games i won’t spend a penny on as i don’t see the value so i play them for free. I get to do this because there are others that put more value on the entertainment the game provides. I have spent money on this game because i love the show and the quality of the game, i feel, merits it.
I am not trying to start a Flame war but people need to think before they put stuff out there.
To the FGA squad if you think this will cause a brouhaha just delete the post. Oh and thanks again for all you guys do!!

I think the prize boxes are bull****, just trying to get you to spend actual money just like every other game! Only ONCE did they have a “prize box” that wasn’t clams! It was coins.. The stewie not prize box should require payment with blam not clams ! Cause according to the GAME “blam is the only currency accepted during comic-con” anyway!

Hi guys, love your site, been following for awhile now but this is my first post!
I didn’t have a clue what was happening last night, was playing my game as normal, signed out to watch a film, then when I went back I couldn’t get in it just kept crashing. My first thought was, hey I know who will have some helpful advice the family guy addicts, so went to load up your site, but it wouldn’t load for some reason, tried on my ipad, my PS3, and my Smart TV but nothing! All other sites were loading, but it’s not the same as coming to you guys.
So I e-mailed Tiny Co, and got a message back saying they were looking into it, so I went to bed. When I woke up this morning I had an e-mail saying if I’m linked to my game to an account to uninstall, reinstall and that should fix it. Luckily thanks to your site the other week about how its best to link the game in some way, I went and linked it to my e-mail. So if it wasn’t for you guys I would have most likely lost everything I had worked so hard for, and what money I had put into it too.
So I thought I’d come to thank you guys, but I still couldn’t get onto your site. But I just thought I’d have one more try a few mins ago and success! I was worried I’d never get back onto your site, I don’t know why I couldn’t get in, but I’m glad to be back!

I seem to be having an issue with collecting ham. They won’t stop, even though I have 13 out of 10 with a check box on top…they just keep coming. I thought it would stop unless you had another character that needed the items….I’m confused and full of HAM!

Did you link your account to a Facebook or an email?
If you did and have one already set up, then it is as simple as uninstall and reinstall the app. Take a few steps…log back in if needed.

Is anyone else having problems getting green pesticides… I have over 19 orange pesticides and 9 red and 1 green… Seems odd I can’t get green pesticides

They seem the rarer of them all…so I focus on the tasks that characters give out them mostly.

So I never had any problem with not getting in. When I woke up the boxes where there. Then I checked here and noticed all the problems people are having. Did I just get super lucky and not download the bad file?

some quick math makes me pretty optimistic of getting to 100k purely freemium 🙂 here is what i figure. it should be pretty easy to get the 8x multiplier each day. that’s 1200 blam x 30 days = 36000 blam. i am making roughly this much each day with tasks and nerds and such so another 1200 x 30 days = 36000 blam. that is 72000 blam with little effort by the end of the event. add in the 15000 i have now (seems most android freemiums are around here as well from the posts) that’s a total of 87000 blam by the end of the event (depending on where you are now). that is only 13000 short of the 100k goal!!! i am assuming the great rulers of this little blogosphere know what they are talking about and expect increases in blam output for tasks/characters and i would bet money that the giant stewie base level of 100 blam WILL increase as we go giving even more for your 8x daily level. i am going to only go this far every day and save em till closer to the end. when the base level goes up or we get closer to the end i’ll spend any excess maxing the multiplier for last minute blam boost.
long story short, perhaps they are building in a very close finish line of the 100k for us freemium players as that last 13k blam seems very likely to materialize as we go. so sit back relax and get what you can knowing we still have a VERY LIKELY chance of making the 100k. LONG LIVE THE FREELOADERS!!!!!!

I have a gut feeling that when they release these “babies and bombs” event, they would release an overpriced Fillion too. But they would probably “justify” it by making him drop a huge amount of bombs like they did Cranston. It’s not that I would be able to stop myself from buying him anyway. But if such is the case, I would end up spending more on this 45 day event than on a console game. AARRGGHH.

I know it seems daunting, but you really need to remove the corrupted file. I uninstall all the time. It only takes a lil bit to do. As long as you have an account linked to it, it is just a matter of a few taps and log back in. Just follow the guide we have for recovery.

For now, they are saying you need to remove the corrupted file and reinstall a clean one. I know it seems scary. But I honestly do it all the time. It is just a matter of loading up a new game. Tapping through a few things in the new game til it launches the menu option. Then…signing back in to that FB or email account and VOILA…back up and runnin. 😉
Just use the handy guides we have to recover the saved account.

kylie, I am linked to my FB as well, and I had the same trepidation as you last night. Bunny linked you right to the guide, and when you get to the part where it says you have a save game linked to the account, and you see the red button that says replace account, it means its replacing the lvl 1 you have to start to reinstall your game, so no worries. Mathematically it’s not worth it. I can get any color from Peter, yes I don’t quite control it as well but from my experience it is a pretty even 50/50 split between the two colors, so I should be able to get 6 of any color in about 12 tasks which only costs 48 clams. Even if I have to do it a few more times I’m still saving clams over a 95 clam box. Plus if you are only one or two short you can save even more stopping once you get them.

I’m sooooo glad I bought Bryan very early when rushing his 2 hour task only cost 4 clams instead of 32. I spent 750 on Bryan and rushing his task so I have a bunch of pesticide but of course…the 25 multiplier asked for 29 red when I only had 6. I have 50+ green and yellow too :/Oh well, I’ll wait til the timer runs out and start again

I’ll be leaving these alone unless I’m super super desperate. Knowing my luck I’d end up paying 95 clams for 6 pesticide ( nearly 16 clams each)! Think over all you’d be better off buying Cranston as he drops one of each every 2hrs, so Im gonna earn 15 every day off him, so working of my poorest luck he’d pay his weight in pesticide in 2 days.

Bryan Cranston is the better buy than the mystery boxes in my opinion.
I did however notice that making his inspect house task to hurry up using clams is a whopping 32 clams when this should be 8 clams tops. I mean it’s a 2 hour task. Can anyone else confirm this as well?

Yes it does cost a TON of clams to speed up. I think because it drops a TON of stuff, so they figured if you want to rush it it’s gonna cost you.
And yes, MUCH better buy IMO too

I’m back in as I uninstalled and reinstalled. As for the pesticides.. Oh no I refuse to waste clams on something so silly. I need about 320 more clams to have 500.. Lol and we all know who that means I’m shooting for. XD going to have to drop a Lil more cash but it’s all good.

If you don’t get to the error message box there’s not a lot you can do other than follow the good advice Alissa and others have already given.
If you’re getting the error message box then there’s something you can do. When the error box comes up, sometimes (every second or third load) it will let you click ‘OK’, you then keep tapping ‘OK’ very quickly, 20-50 times, the message box will eventually close and allow you to play. That would allow you to go into settings and link an email account to your game, or play as normal but having to deal with the error box every time you load the game.
Hopefully you get it sorted out soon.

So after the nuttiness of last night (thanks again to Bunny for walking me thru my apprehensiveness, lol) I get on this morning, finish Bryan Cranstons pesticide task (totally worth it in my opinion as he gives you a lot of pesticide) and get the last two green I need to beat Stewie for the 4th time. Stewie comes back, and I get lucky as he needs 29 orange to defeat and I already have 28. Send Peter and Bryan on the pesticide hunt again, but before logging off I zap the mini-stewie, and get an orange! Blaze collected, task completed, and a bunch of Blam! collected in the process. Hope others can get as lucky as I was this morning!!

I was so excited when I first saw the mystery boxes but then was immediately disappointed when I saw how much they costed. It totally is not worth buying IMO. Soooo not sure if I’m liking this update. This event is cool and fun but I wish they would stop putting out things that cost clams and lots of them. I’ve already spent more money than I thought I was going to spend and might just spend some more. I really really really want Brian Cranston so I might take that plung and purchase him. As for the pesticides I think I’m ok with just taking my chances with my characters doing their tasks. Hopefully they figure it all out maybe reduce the price of the mystery boxes or something.

I heard one person say it on the TSTO EA forum in the FGTQFS Discussion thread. The person said that they got a notification saying that Kevin Bacon is coming to the game. I have an iOS device, but I didn’t get the notification that I’m hearing others are.

Oh ok…I think it was a 6 Degrees Joke (from what others are saying it said). But it’d be cool if he comes 🙂

I saw that they mentioned Kevin Bacon via an iOs notification. Surely they wouldn’t name drop someone that isn’t coming to the game! I also got a notification about a new celebrity arriving. I would be super happy if Kevin Bacon makes his way into my town!
