Phase5 of Comic Con is upon us! Another celebrity has hit our towns!
More details are on the way…just as soon as we go through everything ourselves. But for now…as usual..Felicia will kick things off for phase 5!
Peter will kick off the new Stewie mutation…

New Buildings:
Fillion’s Maid Service- 5,000 Blam! Earns $30, 20xp/4hrs
Quahog Copy Center- 100 Clams Always drops Porno Mags
Foaming Clam Bath and Body Shop- 100 Clams Always drops Lotion
Paper and Stuff- 150 Clams Always drops Calculators
Biggest Change….Stewie has Mutated AGAIN:
Giant Stewie is no longer in Quahog…instead he’s replaced by Demon Stewie. He’ll loom over your Convention Center and you have to attack him, just you Giant Stewie…only this time with Harpoons!
Defeat Demon Stewie with Harpoons:
So at this point pesticides are no longer valid in the game. HOWEVER…TinyCo has provided a FREE pesticide conversion box. Where you can convert pesticides you had to Harpoons.
Conversion Boxes:
At this point pesticides are useless…so you’ll have to convert what you have into Harpoons by using the Conversion box:
(Side note from Bunny: Rupert is Dr Manhattan from Watchmen for those curious. Hence…the box placement. Lol. )
Inside you’ll be able to convert your pesticides to various amounts of Harpoons in the varieties required to beat Stewie:
New Questlines:
Stan and Felicia BOTH got new Questlines AND tasks (We’ll have more on those later). Stan the Man, Stan kicks off, and Feminerd, Felicia Kicks off. (hmmm are they channeling Bunny???)
New Character:
New premium character released…Nathan Fillion. He’ll cost 250 Clams.
He will ALWAYS drop 3 Harpoons with his 4hr task.
New Costume:
Multiplier has been released for Quagmire!
To unlock the Multiplier you’ll have to collect STUFF…here’s what you’ll need:
20 Porno Mags (rare): Earned by: Bomb Minion Stewie OR Make Quagmire Write a Haiku OR Get from the Quahog Copy Center
20 Lotions (rare): Earned By: Clearing Gold Nerds OR Zapping Latcher Stewie OR Make Chris Break the Scale OR Make Jerome be a Superior Athlete OR Get from Fillion’s Maid Service OR Get from Foaming Clam Bath and Body Shop
10 Calculators (extra rate): Earned By: Zap Latcher Stewie OR Make Peter Train in Crazy Drunk Hammer Combat OR Make Peter Swim in Geek Trash OR Make Nathan Fillion Shop for Gadgets OR Get from Paper and Stuff

Ah, glad i got my 30x streak immediately with my pesticide conversions, wouldn’t want to stress over that thing 🙂 Guess ill wait a day for car/bike. Kinda costly otherwise. I like the acting set.

Also, maybe im just unlucky, but don’t have a single porn mag. Bombed quite a bit of stewies, for just a “rare” object it feels a bit off. I might just be unlucky though.

For challenge #4, does the 4 day timer begin when I complete Chris’ quest, or do I have until Monday no matter when I trigger the challenge?

Time starts as soon as the pop up appears. You will see it counting down from then on in your task menu.

If you got the pop up, yes. It is all on the time and day you get the pop up that triggers it.

Looks like the fixed the glitch with the minion stewie’s. They freeze again when you tap them making them easy prey for epic kills!

How many harpoons do you need for each bonus? x1 is 5 what are the rest?
I want to save them all so I know I will have enough to get the bonus car in 4 day?

Anybody know what the harpoon ladder is? Saving up harpoons before activating the 4 day timer. With it starting at 5 harpoons for level 1x, I’m wondering just how crazy high the number is going to be at 30x..let’s hope it’s not 190 harpoons…cuz that’s just not going to happen unless folks start dropping harpoons by the handful.
Also, for those of you still needing blam and holding some pesticide, at least on level 1x the payout looks to be MUCH better for pesticides than harpoons. 1 pesticide gets you 100 blam vs 5 harpoons (which if you’re lucky you’ll get in exchange for 10 pesticides) only gets you 135 blam. So pre-exchange 1 pesticide=100 blam, post exchange at most it’s worth less than 14 blam. Of course if you’re all set for blam and just care about the vehicle save all your pesticides to trade in.
Also doesn’t look like a lot of the drop tasks are showing up initially for Quagmire’s costume, I’m guessing you have to have quagmire swim in geek trash first. Of those listed in Al’s only Jerome’s task has actually appeared in my game.

I’m kind of glad latchers aren’t dropping harpoons this time. The work around to get them to drop items for blobulous was a nightmare to manage. Was not looking forward to dealing with that headache again.
My efforts to master my bombing strategy, however, are proving quite useful. I’m now effectively killing every crawler that spawns without using bombs. Unless accursed sleep overtakes me or work demands that I can not sneak in a quick bomb raid every hour. Work & sleep … Bah!

As a free player, I REALLY don’t like the odds on this week’s vehicle challenge. While it’s theoretically possible to get enough harpoons total to hit demon Stewie around 2-3 times a day for 4 days (with strategic resets), the higher quantities required, coupled with the randomness of the required type, could instantly turn the whole exercise impossible. 😦

I would say do it as far as you think you can, wait the 24 hours and just stock up, then do a lot again really quick.

Yeah that’s the plan, I just hope it’s enough. I’m mostly worried about getting those repeatedly-requires-same-type streaks that sometimes happened with jello shots & pesticides. I notice they added more harpoon-dropping tasks to a couple more characters so that might help a lot. (too bad I didn’t visit here first or I would have known to stock up before starting anything)

If I’m reading right I could collect harpoons for a few days, then zap him once, wait till Chris starts the quest, then just keep attacking him till I get my 9 attacks in and get the car.

As an android user, we were disadvantaged by not getting the event for a week or so after iOS. To make up for this we were promised a bonus costume, which by the silhouette is for Joe, when is this coming?

I’ve yet to finish the Blobular Part 3 quest before the update. He is supposed to fight “giant mutant clone stewie.” Now, obviously, it is only demon stewie there. Any thoughts?

I’m disappointed they didn’t release more buildings/items that cost Blam. Everything costs clams with this phase…..and I really want Nathan but I was saving up for some of the characters I skipped in order to get BC.
Wish there was a better exchange rate for my hard earned pesticides, like many others. I missed maxing out the Mutant multiplier before the update hit. My total was 100+, with best odds getting 50% back; I made less than a third in harpoons from the Conversion Box.
I’ve enjoyed this event, more than others, and I am waiting for your posts on all the new stuff before I pass judgement on this phase….but so far I’m frustrated, & I have Blam on hand with nothing to spend it on but haven’t made it to 100K. 😦
BTW I never had the vehicle quest come up this past week or if i completed it I never got the vehicle. I’ve been clearing the quest lines pretty quick once they are available. Have I missed out?!
Pleasant surprise to find Tricia has more tasks, however unrelated to event.
I noticed others are getting the locked costumes too. My game still shows Blob. & Multiplier as locked even though I have Blobulous & have started getting items for Multiplier. In fact, I have 2 Multiplier tiles in game, one is locked one not….don’t know if I should send to TinyCo. Had the troubles with Minions not inking/stopping but I see that’s already been fixed. They are obviously hard at work. 🙂

Guys I was just reading down the FAQ after this latest update (though it’s possible this was already changed in a previous update) and I noticed that where it used to say that unlocked celebrities would receive their chairs at the end of the event, it now simply says:
“You earn a chair decoration when you purchase the celebrities from the store. Celebrities unlocked normally, such as Felicia Day, Ron Perlman, and Stan Lee, did not bring their own chair to the Quahog Comic Con.”
So I’m guessing they changed that, and those guys won’t be getting chairs after all. 😦

Same issue, I can’t run the game on either my galaxy s5 or galaxy tab3, I’ve uninstalled and reinstall it on both devices, the game starts fine until I log in on my account, once it loads my ID it all goes to heck

How long can I wait to start the 4th car challenge?
I want to save up on harpoons before taking on the new big stewie. So I won’t complete phase one until I have enough harpoons to have a good shot at taking him all the way.
But when will the 4th car challenge expire? Because if it’s soon, then I may have to start sooner and get the ‘car’ despite not having enough to take stewie to the 30x streak.

As soon as the pop up appears on your screen…the challenge will start. You will see it countdown in your menu task bar on the icon for the new Trike. So you have four days from that point.

Ok so I have a question
I have about 100+ pesticide of each pilled up and I have about an hour left till quagmire finishes writing a haiku so I was wondering which is more beneficial to spend them all on giant stewie or to wait and exchange them and use them on demon stewie?

It is like a 10 to 1 ratio. BUT…they payouts are much higher on the Harpoons vs Pesticides. So kinda a toss up.

Well this should be fun. I’ve bombed over 80 minions and not ONE porno mag. Also very angered to see all the hard work to accumulate over 225 pesticide reduced to 50 harpoons. TinyCo. has a real hard on for chanced-based rewards and I for one despise it with a passion.

I’m at least at 80 minions and no porno mags. It’s gotta be bugged – either it’s not available from minions or it’s actually epic rather than rare. Combined with the fact that they opened this with Blobulous having a 1 hour task that earned porno mags and then quickly removed it, I think something isn’t working as intended
If you choose to create The Multiplier with clams, it’s only 5 clams per porno mag though whereas rare items are usually 10 clams. (20 clams per calculator, 5 clams per lotion, and 5 clams per porno mag by my math.)

I don’t think the conversion box is remotely fair. I had 22 green pesticides alone and now I have 9 different harpoons, I got three each time. Very disappointed with the switch.

Leaving aside being pissed at having to start from the beginning with Stewie when I was at the 18X level, my conversion boxes only give up ONE kind of harpoon; that can’t be what was intended. And since I haven’t seen it mentioned, Training Montage Center (I really wanted to put that in all caps). I wasted mega Blam on something that has not converted to harpoons. I won’t send a message to TinyCo ’cause I’m totally freemium, but sigh….

Every time I try to harpoon the new stewie my game freezes and I have to do a hard restart! I can’t kill him at all grrrrrr. At least when I come back my harpoons are still there. Any advice?

Are you linked to an email or FB account? If so, maybe try some troubleshooting to the point of uninstall and reinstall…then log back in to the linked account.

Important news for a few players, the Q Hotel is now dropping Jazz Records for Ron Perlman, that should help those of us who have been stuck with a shockingly poor drop rate from Quagmire’s task.

Is it just me or is it really stupid and pointless to have captain hammered have two different tasks for the exact same item? One is a 6 hour task and the other is an 8 hour task it’s obvious thwt people will choose the faster task making the other one completely obsolete.

Also, note that Demon Steiwe has increased the payouts. The base is now 135 instead of 100 – so the multiplier is off this higher base. And the top payout is now 30x rather than 25x.
