Rollocop Joe has rolled out for Android users as a Thank You from TinyCo for sitting tight while you waiting an extra week for Comic-Con to hit your games. Of course a new Superhero means new stuff to collect AND a brand new questline to follow along with!
So let’s take a look at these new questline that unlocks as soon as you log onto your Android device….

Stupid question probably, but: Is it possible to play on Android and iOS device at the same time? I will get a new Android phone next week, but I will keep my iPad. As there seems to be different content, are there any problems with playing on both?

Fortunately I have FQFS on my android phone, So I prompt the Rollocop there and return to my Ipad and Rollocop quest already begin on my Ipad 😀

Fairly annoyed by this because IOS users were basically beta testers. I was locked out of the game for 5 straight days because it would crash in the loading screen. Any advantage I would have is pretty much nonexistent.
Not that Android users shouldn’t get some kind of perk, but why does it have to be a character skin with an action set?

So far each person who drops items for Joe have done their task 3-4 times. No one has yet dropped a single item for him. Ron and Felicia are only dropping batteries and I’m on rollocop pt2

The next update just hit – there’s Iron Baby (stewie outfit), a blam prize box (yay), more buildings, and the fabu-bus! Seeing what we have to do for Iron Baby, its back to stockpiling harpoons (that means you, fillion and cranston)! God, too much going on! This game does NOT want me to have a life…

I’m also an iOS user and just downloaded Bluestacks and installed family guy. Loaded the game, loaded the robocop costume and went back to iPad and it’s in Al Harrington’s. I recommend!

bluestacks is a program for your computer not for your iOS device. the program let’s the computer pretend it is an android device so it can play most android apps.

This does seem a weird way to make up for the week later start, considering earning the items for Joe will take away from getting harpoons and will therefore decrease the amount of blam that android users can get…
And I will echo the comments saying that this is much better than the admittedly cool Gold Suit Peter that iphone users got. That said, bluestacks to the rescue!

Kindle users seem to have been left out of this, yet the Kindle uses Android. I am having trouble with BlueStacks as it is not recognizing my Google password. I have a message into TinyCo, but no answer yet.

My robojoe keeps going invisible and disappearing whilsts using iPad. Has anyone else come across this problem.

The issue we were afraid of with the crossover. He has been disappearing on our iOS devices too. Only 100% stable on Android.

They will have to fix it if for no other reason than players who switch phones. apple will NOT be amused if an app causes a new user’s transition to iLand be anything less than stellar. 😉

Also I notice that joes stuff requires the majority of heroes and celebs to be away from their harpooning duty. Hopefully they won’t be needed too much for the last fabulous challenge which might hit in the next few hours.

Don’t know if this helps people on iOS to get joe costume. I just logged my game on an android and up popped joe to say he is a new costume. Then I left the game without starting the quest line. Went back on my iOS and the ! Above joe was there. I clicked it and the quest line is now on my iOS and his outfit shows up in al harringtons. And the people that drop the items are all on the list of tasks. Hopefully this helps

I knew this was gonna be an uphill battle the moment I saw the 5 most hated words in all of Quahog:

To make matters worse, when i woke up I blearily sent both Joe and Jerome on their next *24* hour quest tasks.
Part of the game is making it past all the little time traps they set for you to push you into spending clams.
Every Free To Play does it, but man they are persistent.
Really hoping I can stick to my guns and not buy anymore clams, but they got me short and curlies with this event… 😉

I wanted to give kudos to the person that mentioned BlueStacks. I play on my iPad and just tried BlueStacks, it’s a little clunky using a mouse instead of my finger to scroll about the town but I now have the Rollo-Cop quest started. I’m only on step 1. I’ve been keeping Joe busy finding a cure during most of the event so I can’t get him rolling in Geek Trash yet. When I fired up TQFS on my iPad I have the quest started and it shows in the costume shop what I need. It very much looks like the quest line only needs to be triggered on an Android device. I’m going to play solely on my iPad again, I will post after I make progress to confirm if it stays once started!! If so I’ll have to do the same thing in reverse for my son on his Android tablet, let him sign into my iPad and trigger the Golden Peter quest line.

Any news on the update coming? Will we be able to unlock a new celebrity? Oh and did anyone notice that when you see babs, jillian, Neil, death, and the evil monkey you are only awarded 10 clams? Are they that easy to unlock?

All the FUTURE items are just placeholders. We put no merit on the placeholder info and wait til it goes live in the game to verify the info. Until then…they could change anything.
No info yet as to another release. We are watching to see.

I’m iOS but put bluestacks on my laptop for Android access. I saw the ! over a building Joe was in, so clicked it and watched the conversation etc. Joe was on a task so I left it.
Went back on my iOS device shortly afterwards and the ! Was there again on my iPhone, touching it ran through the quest again. Joe was still on a task.
Went back on my iOS Again when Joe was done and when I finished his task he dropped a machine gun 🙂 so I sent him off on P1 of the task.
Other characters have been dropping RoboJoe items on iOS too!

Can this quest line be done AFTER Sept 8th, or must it be completed before the 8th…I still don’t see how you can unlock all those items plus do the questline by Sept 8th…

Far as we know the quest goes with the Con, so focus on parts and get him unlocked. Don’t worry about the quests.

Does anyone know if they changed the drop rate for crawler stewies dropping books? I haven’t had them drop a single one for me in the past 3 days, and I’ve used a ton of bombs.

Got a buddy of mine with an android to help get joes costume unlocked for me, I owe him a lil favor, or maybe a big one cause he’s getting addicted to it now lol
Can’t stop playing this game, every bit of it is awesome, I’m a freemium player but I had to buy the 2 celebs cause…you know…they’re awesome lol

can i still get rollocop as long as i collect the required items. (i have yet to unlock dr hartman and the hospital) so i wont be able to do some of the tasks and thus wont be able to complete his missions

A nicer “thank you” would have been zero 24 hour tasks (nobody likes those) and common for the item drops. How about also adding some to the never included characters for a change. There, I got my whine in. 🙂

Rollocop seems ok. Just wish it was not such a chore to collect items but they have been dropping considerably better than Quagmire’s Multiplier outfit. Any word yet on the last vehicle challenge will it still require harpoons or will it be something like last time and have to use conversion boxes.

Love the fact that he has to be unlocked as an addict I appreciate the challenge. Not worried with the lenght of his task after I unlock him..worse case I will finish tasks after event or if they won’t be available by then..who cares..I still have him. I am not a fan of device exclusive items but don’t feel horrible if you have a golden peter..golden hot tub and a free extra week to start this event(believe it or not a group of IOS users will need those extra days to finish and a group of Android wont finish without them). I do feel bad for Kindle users and hope they get the free skins from both devices at some point. Great event and I hope Alissa and bunny get a few days to relax after its over..Seriously great coverage throughout and it is appreciated…now to the next district!!

Now if you could please explain why it takes Joe 24 hours to get surgery, but Dr. Hartman spends only 2 hours performing surgery? Is the extra time what Joe spends in recovery, or is Dr. Hartman committing insurance fraud by grossly overbilling for the procedure? 😉

I am glad I have several thousand clams as if unlocking the costume is part of the 2nd task I can’t see how you would be able to get all those items and still perform the remaining tasks by Sept 8th….
If I calculated it correctly it would take 96 hours to do all of Joe’s tasks after unlocking his suit, so that is 4 full days….that gives you 7 days to unlock all his items.
And if the rare items drop like porn mags, I have no chance to get them. With minions and Quaqmire I have had about 1100 attempts to get mags and have only gotten 16 so far…ugh!
But I will carry on..

Build the maze course it helped me get the magazines cause I would kill like 30 every 20 minutes or so with 2 bombs.

Am I the only Addict who gets a little… “itchy” over these 24-hour tasks? That’s a long time of not tapping someone! 🙂 I know, I know, enough with the complaints. As soon as I saw we had to collect stuff for Rollocop, I came here to see the angry comments because I knew others would also be unhappy that we Android players weren’t just gifted him (that was my immediate reaction upon seeing the requirements – especially with two rares and an extra rare). But really…. I love this game, and I am still really impressed with TinyCo (nope, I don’t work for them or know anyone there). I think they’ve done a great job trying to be fair (I know the Kindle folks kinda got shorted by not getting Rollo or the extra week, and I think their complaint is valid but I doubt TinyCo purposely left them out) and listening to the users. I wasn’t in on the last event, but they seem to be busting their butts on this one. Not just making it fun for both new and longtime players (plus premium and freemium), also adding and enhancing things along the way with new questlines and minor details (anyone else notice a couple new phrases when bombing minions?). Anyway, I am determined to get Rollocop, even if I end up forced to spend clams on the skin. To that end, Ios and Kindle players are welcome to log in on my Android phone so they can get him — for the price of one clam apiece. 🙂
Now, if TnyCo could just give Tricia and Connie a reason to exist…hehe.
PS: Speaking of outfits I’m impressed with, the Addicts crew is seriously awesome. I’m particularly in awe of how patient you folks are without being paid to play nice! Thank you!

So TinyCo says they’re going to offer an Android exclusive item to Android users because they had to wait a week after the event started. Then they wait almost the entire duration of the event to release the exclusive content. Then we find out that the gift has to be earned and that earning it before the event expires will be no easy task. Then we learn that the item isn’t exclusive at all and iOS users can have it on their devices, as well.
So to sum up, a non-exclusive exclusive item that is a gift that must be earned to make up for lost time at the beginning of the event that will likely take the rest of the event to (hopefully) unlock.
All praise TinyCo.
Maybe I’m just bitter because my event ended after two weeks and TinyCo hasn’t responded to over 20 attempts to contact them….

While I agree with some of your points, iOS users can only get Rollocop by signing onto an Android device. I don’t really see how (or more importantly why) Tinyco should go out of their way to prevent iOS users from accessing the item. If you play on Android (even if only for a few minutes) the costume is available. That aspect seems fair to me.
You can unlock the iOS exclusive costume and quest by logging into the game on an iOS device as well.

I’ll s b ser this question with a question of my own: since you have access to both platforms, try logging into your game and launching a quest for gold Peter. If Gold Peter is truly exclusive to iOS, they should be able to make other items truly exclusive as well. Simple as that.

In addition to that, this skin was offered specifically because people couldn’t participate in the event for a week while others could. To say it’s only fair to get to play the event for that stretch and then turn around and get the thing that was specifically earmarked for people who couldn’t is pretty ridiculous.

Like I said, I do agree with most of your points. I just don’t think that TinyCo should be going out of their way to deny this gift from iOS players who log in on an Android device. It’s enough that it doesn’t appear when you play on iOS.
And are you saying the Golden Suit can’t be unlocked at all on Android, even if you log into an iOS device? I didn’t realise that at all.

The gold suit peter that the iOS users got had to be earned to with their own quest line and stuff to get. I expected nothing less than having to earn the costume cause many of us have already got everything and need something to do.

The difference is that the Android exclusive item was released as an attempt to make amends for Android players missing out on a week of the event. I addition to that, I believe gold suit Peter is not time limited, so there was no chance on missing out on it. I could be wrong on that point, though, as I’ve never played the game on iOS.
Either way the first point still applies.

As an iOS player, I have to say I’m kind of bummed that we don’t get this costume because it looks so cool. Of course its fair that its an Android exclusive, but I would have rather had this costume than an extra week playing the event. I just don’t get why TC couldn’t have started it on the same day…. Dumb.

Use blue stacks on a PC and unlock the outfit. Then you can use it on iOS. That’s what I did as I don’t use android devices. Easy!!

BUG REPORT: Zapper on “Cat & Mouses Cafe”
I appear to have a checkmark over the ‘Cat & Mouses Cafe’ which is shaded as if it should have a ‘Latcher Stewie’ attached but I can’t see one to zap.
However if I tap the ‘Cat & Mouses Cafe’, the gun appears. If I press the zap button all the text disappears from the gun and the whole game freezes until to force it to close. I can’t remember if any character is in it… but I haven’t seen Stewie for a while 😦
I have waited for a few ‘Latcher Stewie’ cycles to see if the problem resolves itself but it seems to be permanent!

It’s an ongoing glitch. If he won’t move on and you’ve tried basic troubleshooting, then you need to Contact TinyCo for help.

Do you have George unlocked? I know a recent quest line sent him there. I had to zap to let him in and had to zap to get him out.

Yep – George was unlocked! However since my post the building seemed to have cleared itself of the “ink colour”.
My theory is that I was just unlucky with the building being attacked by different Stewies every few hours.
Maybe the game has a glitch where completed tasks with check symbols don’t play well with latcher Stewies…

same thing happened to me just this morning. I have GT in the building but i cant release him since the zapper animation never completes.

well, magically, about an hour later. the building is normal. no sign of latcher stewie, but i can at least complete the quest.

Bluestacks is definitely cool if you can get it to work. Especially if you hook it up to play on a BIG screen TV. Great concept for playing fun apps.

I wanted to share my experiment in trying to get rollocop on iOS. I installed Bluestacks on my PC last week in preparation. This morning, I logged into my FGQFS game on Bluestacks and was able to begin Rollocop’s quest (Joe Roll in Geek Trash and Bonnie abusing Jacuzzi jets for a chance at “Microchips”. I then logged back into my iOS version and have Rollocop available as a character to create. It shows Joe and Bonnie in their currently assigned tasks. I don’t know if items will drop in iOS or not yet, but will update if they do.
As has been mentioned on this board, BlueStacks is a beta emulator. I’ve never messed with it before, but it was a much easier method than trying to get FGQFS to run with Android SDK on a PC. This is a potential workaround for us iOS only platforms. There is nothing sketchy or questionable using this route, as far as I can tell.

I use bluestacks and have not had any issues playing this game on it. i actually installed it to play tapped out but that no longer works for some reason. a couple of key fixes if you have any issues with bluestacks:
update your graphics driver to the newest possible if your getting a black screen after loading the game;
go into the advanced settings-developer settings and turn on “force GPU rendering”
these 2 will fix most issues you might have. it’s also nice to have the pc’s power to use and not the limited device resources of the average phone/tablet. it don’t crash like it does on my ipod just about every time i try to do someting and the nice big screen makes it much easier to survey my town.
