Hello There Clammers!
Phase 4 of Christmas hit our Tiny Quahogs late last week & with it brought a whole new slew of tasks and questlines to keep our magic fingers busy! We’ve already broken down the main Phase 4 questline, Reindeer Games, and now it’s time to take a look at some of the side quests that popup during this fourth, and final, phase of Christmas.
In this post we’ll cover the questlines Dry as Fruitcake & A Very Jewish Christmas. This will give you guys a good indication of who needs to do what to complete all the aspects of Phase 4.
Note: We will be covering KISS in another post. And that info will be coming soon.
So now…let’s tackle those side quests
These questlines will be posted in order (so Dry As Fruitcake Pt. 1, 2…). So these will not necessarily be how they popup in your game.

I’ve played as constantly as I can and I’m just barely going to miss Jesus.. Wouldn’t mind so much but I’ve gotten ALL the free characters thus far and I was a premium player for a Lil bit as well.. I would gladly spend the clams on him but that’s not even an option. Grrr…. Sry.. Rant over I guess… Highly disappointed tho..

I, too, am highly disappointed in the way they offered up Jesus. There were way too may questlines requiring lois, and then there was that one task of Joe’s that took him away from the game for 24 hours. So there’s 2 of your 3 Yeti-defeating-characters being withheld… Beyond that, the snowflake offerings within the polka dot box was a joke. I got all the decorations, and “poof” it was gone. But you can utilize your clams to buy those other boxes, with the very slim chance of getting more snowflakes (eyeroll). I am also a freemium character (have been since shortly before the King Butt phase), and have extremely diligently since then. This is the first time that I’ve been irritated with the availability of a character… and also the fact that we have a gagillion cookies and candy cane stockings with nothing of interest to spend them on… Not such a well thought out ending to this (should have been) wonderful event.

So it looks like I’m going to come up 6 snowflake stockings short of Jesus… Wouldn’t it be super cool if we had some way of obtaining more snowflake stockings, especially since we have a ton of cookies and other stockings.

Am I missing something? I think I have everything: all of the gift boxes, Jesus, snowmobile, everything…. But I have 130k cookies, at least 1 of everything cookies can buy, 350 candy canes, 350 snowflakes, and a bunch of the other stocking items (not entirely sure what they are: dolls, paper & bells?).. Is there something else that all these game currency items were being collected for? Or, for example, once I got Jesus, was I really focusing my time in the wrong direction continuing to defeat the Yeti? (clearing mall Santas, reindeer, snowmen, or fur-bombing shoppers). Btw: fur-bombing shoppers was fun..

Do we think there’s anything else coming to use up cookies and stockings on? I have sooooo many of everything and already bought so many decos and completed all quests emptied gift boxes etc

Any idea why there is a limit on how many of each christmas decoration you can buy I bought about ten dickens lamps and placed them but when I checked my inventory I didn’t have them all and I tried to buy more and it let me without taking cookies away but they also disappeared in inventory?

This is the thing with the Inventory…to PREVENT you from accidentally spending clams and $$ on something you have…it WON’T let you buy more with some already in Inventory. So…you gotta have them ALL out on your land…then keep buying til you are done…THEN store them all. A bit more work…but useful in long run so you don’t waste earnings.

So happy. I got all items. Got all event characters and I’m in the process of beating the icesicles off king yeti! Earned Enuff clams to not have to even get in my own stash. No I don’t sit on this thing all day. But this is a strategy game. U gotta plan and time things out! I am a single mom with 2 boys and one with a dissability. My priorities are them 2 and home and work. But for the few hours of downtime I do get, this game lets me relax and take my mind off daily issues. So to everyone who’s having a hard time achieving in this game I say to u….. Patience

I’m not sure how you can get King Yeti on Freemium unless you are very lucky. The max i can get with Lois, Mort and Joe in 24 hours is 36 and that is only if each character gives out 2 hits every time. I need to get 35 so is unlikely. I thought there was always a way to complete the same asks without paying !!

Not sure if this has been stated anywhere else, but you can get one extra “set” of attacks by re-tasking the attackers before the Yeti is defeated. Therefore, complete a task, then re-task BEFORE completing somebody elses task. i.e. if the yeti is asleep the task is not available, but if they are already throwing snowballs when the yeti is defeated AND you don’t click the check mark, then as soon as the yeti awakens they can be clicked on and health points removed. If done right, everyone is ready to score against the yeti except the one used whose completed task actually defeats the yeti. The drawback: the rest of them are unavailable for other quests. (you still have to get lucky, but by now you should have Jesus)

This is Tiny Co version of the Kobayashi Maru for freemium players. It’s my third time around trying to defeat the yeti. Even with having two of the attackers still throwing snowballs while he’s sleeping I still don’t have Jesus yet. With only 69 snowflakes I’ll need a Christmas miracle or some help from Captain Kirk!

Yep, I had two people waiting for the Yeti to start but the numbers still dont add up. I’ll have to finish them off early as there wont be enough time to fit into the 24 hours. Even after that it there will still be hits remaining. My hope is that I can resume the task and it wont cost too much. As I’ll get 25 clams to complete the character group, I have something to play with.
I cant see how this task (King Yeti) can be done for free. I should have kept the Yeti hits going over xmas to get Jesus but too busy celebrating.
Still, its only a game and I have plenty of characters wandering around on repeating tasks.

I also finished early. My last quest was the 20 Jesus task, that finished up earlier this morning. Got all the characters and skins except for kiss. Didn’t seem worth the clams. I did think this event was easier than some of the previous ones. For now, I just set all of my characters on 1day tasks to wait until the next district opens up. I did earn an extra 300 clams this event so I’m happy about that. I am very stingy with using them so I’ll probably have them a while. The only thing I used clams for this event was john mcclane (I was a few short so I had to buy the smallest clam package because I didn’t want to wait until they built up.
I also have over 100k in cookies built up. Guess I’ll either buy a bunch of decorations ill never use or just let them disappear.

I’m not sure what I’m supposed to do with 150,000 cookies. I’m not even sure how I have this many. I guess either 1500 choo choo trains, or 3000 poinsettias and open my own garden center.

I understand you can use clams to get another 24 hours to defeat King Yeti if your initial time runs out. So how does that work exactly?

As soon as he goes to hibernation, tap on him. A pop up will appear giving you an extra chance. Another 24 hrs. The clam cost will vary on where YOU left him at when your timer ran out.

I would like to know what can I do with the left over cookies and stockings. It was nice when I could at least dump 1000 cookies for prides in the polka dot box, but you can only do that five times.
This holiday event is a huge dissapointment. So many items needed clams and so many wasted earned cookies and stockings.

It wasn’t a disappointment to me. Four new characters. New costumes. A few more buildings. And I’m leaving the event with about 150 more clams than when I started it. That’s a huge improvement for us freemium players. I think TinyCo is making progress on finding the right balance.

Only slight complaint was that the first few yeti guys should have been easier to defeat because it was a HUGE struggle without buying John. Tiny co is excellent with customer feedback though so i really think they will learn and change as they move forward with things like that in the future.
This was afterall just their FIRST attempt at incorprating a big enemy that characters (not bombs/rockets) defeat.
Overall, a really excellent event! And all the FREE CLAMS?!?! Yes. A hundred times yes 🙂

oh yeah agree! i LOVED this event! i really think TinyCo. outdone themselves and did a very awesome job again, especially with all the easy ways to get free clams. i’ve sent in tons of compliments to them already just telling them they did that this event was great and i’m completely satisfied. i got everything accomplished with the use of very FEW clams. 🙂

Is anyone else having a tough time defeating top hat yeti? I have yet to get Jesus. I’m hoping to get Jesus in the next day or so. I think that Tiny Co. should extend the event for at least 2 extra days, since they were slow about 2 of the event updates.

dito. that 4 hour wait is horrible because it usually lands during the only time I can play around family right now… & my poka dot box vanished after getting the main items before I got any snowflakes. Looks like I have a choice of pissing off family for “living on my phone,” spending at least $40 in clams to get items that *might* help me get Him, or take my chances, just give up.

It appears that this is the case. I complained to Timyco several times that they made the Yetti a quest line only for those who can pay. Each time they responded with “oh but Jesus/another character can help beat Yetti”. Yeah, not if you don’t have them.

See, this is why I’m going to be deleting this game on my phone starting next year (I will still have the game on my tablet). I just don’t understand why they have to make getting something so simple so hard.

Isn’t it the point of a game though to challenge you? If things were simple and easy, would we see the same complaint stating “this is too easy”. Just my thoughts anyway.
I get this game is not for everyone, it is NOT simple nor will it ever be. BUT…majority of items are obtainable for all players. It is up to you on if you want to put in the work to get them.

Loving this Christmas event! I earned nearly 200 extra clams for free so I decided to purchase Gene Simmons. The only character I’m missing is Jesus and I’m desperate to get him. All I need to do is defeat King Yeti. Got a good head start using the trick you showed us. I think they did a great job with this event. I’m looking forward to whatever mini event they will have for New Years Eve then hopefully we can start on the new district. Thanks for all you do ladies!!!!

Phase 4 (and the entire event) wasn’t very difficult IF you had tons of time to dedicate to the game AND bought the premium characters. I feel for the players that had neither.

Boy, the back end of this event (Giggity!) was really easy. The sleigh bell gift boxes barely required any materials. I almost wondered if they accidentally programmed “3” instead of “30” for each box. I had most of the stuff in there in one day, and fighting the yeti became pointless since you didn’t need snowflakes for anything else. I still had tons of fun with the event, the prizes, the quests, etc. Just kind of bummed how it fizzled out at the end and I don’t really even need to play it now. Oh well.

Yeah, it just kind of… finished. I had everything from the final phase within two days of its launch, and now have tons of gingerbread and stockings.
In fact, I had several items before the quest to get them was even triggered. Such bad pacing. I would end up getting a flood of quests literally all at once, and then… nothing.

I’ve actually finished all the quests and have nothing to do until the next update hits. Kinda bored honestly. Haha. I saw something about a Rupert skin that I might have missed as I’m at 51/52. Not sure how I missed it. I completed all the weekly challenges, got the skimobile, rabid reindeer and Santa.

One thing I really enjoyed about this game was the fact that it was freemium. We still got chances to buy premium things with the occasional free clams. But for this event they’re trying to make it so we have to spend it. I started in the middle of the Egypt event. Every event after that, I was able to get everything I wanted without needing to spend clams. I got all the freemium characters and skins. But with the intimate apparel and Chrismas event, I’m really starting to hate this game.
