Final Thought:
Personally, I bought him right away. It was not only just his celeb status that caught my attention, but that he is one of the FIRST Premium Characters to actually add to the Event and material collections needed. His $$$, XP, and Blam! earn at a Premium Rate. I know the 500 Clam price tag is a bit steep, but for me it was more of a payout to have him vs just the Sommelier alone (700 Clams). If sent on his 2 hour task, he can earn you at LEAST 8 of each Pesticide Color in a day. That is a better payout then the Rupert Boxes (95 Clams for a chance at 6/9/12). Even if you purchased 5 Rupert Boxes (475 Clams), the MAX you would get of one color is 60… if you were lucky. Bryan will guarantee you a payout of at least 60 of EACH color in 8 days (if sent every 2 hours on his Pesticide earning task). This does not even count the extras like Batteries and Snack Cakes. I also like the fact he is voiced and has outdoor animated tasks. This all adds to his appeal to me. Overall, I would say if you got the Clams, this is a great investment.

With it being part of a Limited Time Event, just make sure you make up your mind as once the event is over, it is most likely they will be gone. In the end it’s your call.  What you buy and what you don’t buy is your own personal choice we can only guide you on the facts and let you know what we did and what we think.  But don’t purchase it until YOU are sure. ALL SALES ARE FINAL!

  1. Holiday getting in the way of an event can be very annoying – stupid real life!

Only just getting back into the game after a break – is it still worth getting Bryan? Has his pesticide task changed to harpoons?

Also, guessing I know the answer already but missed out on one of the vehicles when I (stupidly) accessed the game when I managed to get wifi but no chance of completing the task – bomb 300 minions. Any hints from TinyCo that you’ve heard that you may be able to purchase a missing vehicle? I’m assuming not but there is always that glimmer of hope!

  2. Should I buy Cranston or the blam truck? Im leaning towards Cranston since he is a character and idk that the blame truck will do after the event. Thoughts?

  3. Completely off topic but you guys tried to get my Quahog back after it reset to level one. I wasn’t able to get it back even though I was sure I linked it to my Facebook acct. Out of sheer boredom (mostly because TSTO was a major bore) I played the beginning of the game because my son originally started it. Then I got to the part where you could travel to other Quahogs. And there I found my Quahog. It is not gone. I’m probably messing up somewhere when trying to retrieve my game. Would someone be willing to help me do this thru emails. Replying back and forth here is making me a little nuts.

  4. Thanks Alissa, so that means only Brian Cranstons chair is available, as Bunny said she had placed her chairs, not willing to pay 500 clams for him, after spendung on the trucks.

  7. I’d be much more inclined to buy a limited time character (or building) if I thought they might have more than limited time value. The knowledge that any items dropped by characters or building during this event will not be needed in future events/levels and that these characters/buildings will not drop the new items is a significant deterrent to purchase. So is the fact that the game relies so heavily on the same handful of characters for every new level and event. Cranston is a good value compared to other premium items, but I know after this event, he will be no more valuable than Connie.

  9. Oh man, I was happy with buying Bryan Cranston, thinking I’d get to keep him after the event, now I wish I’d saved my money up for Nathan Fillion who’s really the only one I want and would have been willing to pay for limited appearance and this is the first time I switched from freemium to premium player. I’m never gonna make George Takei anyway, not even Bryan Cranston can save me. Bummer. Any chances that we might get to keep the characters we buy for clams – and they just won’t drop pesticides and produce blam in their tasks? I just really want NF to aim to misbehave in Quahog forever.

    • You keep everyone you unlock or buy with clams. With this new Minion Stewie element and Cranston dropping so many pesticides, plus the time still left in the event, you should doing very well. 😉

      • Oh thanks, I must have misread the above note to be careful what you invest in since it goes away after the game to apply to Bryan Cranston. Now I’m happy as a clam!

(I’m terribly behind since I only learned of this game through comic con and had to spend the first few days of the event unlocking comic con quarters, which means I’m way behind on blam. I also lost a day by flying east. But you never know, maybe I’ll make George Takei at the last moment).

        • Cranston is a game changer. Just keep him running that 2 hour task like a machine. Never attack Giant Stewie for 29 pesticides (just let the timer run out and start your streak again to the 18 25x mark). The Minion Stewies are paying out a big Blams per Bombs ratio….so you have a real good shot with the time remaining in the event. 😉

  10. Made the plunge today! Until this event I don’t think I’d spent more than 2, maybe 3 bucks? Now I’m probably sitting around $80 bucks, and oddly enough I don’t feel like it was a waste considering I spend a lot more time playing this game than I’d expected to.

The only thing that don’t like is that I wasted money on the big Blam! truck which honestly seems to be a waste. with Bryan I don’t feel that way (he’s one of my favourite actors after all), but let’s just hope he continues to be useful in the future!

So far I can easily say I’ve never had more fun with a mobile game though, these guys at TinyCo are really doing a great job.

  11. Awhile back when I saw Bryan Cranston for 500 clams, I said “No way in hell I’m spending that much on him!” Seeing how slowly the blam is trickling in, the addict in me surrendered to the addictiveness of this game and bought Bryan Cranston this morning. This is the first time I opened my wallet in this game – I guess I’m no longer a freemium player! Currently I’m at 20,000 blam, hopefully with 25 days left I can reach 100,000, c’mon, Mr. Takei!

    • Please give us and TinyCo some feedback on your purchase when all is said and done. I am curious how people feel after that initial purchase when they witch over. 😉

      • So far, no regrets with Cranston. I did notice the cost in clams to speed up his 2-hr inspect building task is WAY higher (32 clams) than other character tasks! Damn, EVERYTHING with him is expensive! Breaking Bad, more like breaking bank! To use his pesticide task to the fullest benefit, I’m now held prisoner by this game every 2 hrs. Still though, I’m glad I took the plunge and bought him. With 25 days left, is it possible for me to reach 100,000? My current blam count is about 20,000. Thanks!

        Like

        • I think the speed up is due to the items won. It wouldn’t make it plausible or smart to make them cheap to just burn through clams. Gotta have a balance to other ways offered to get them. He is by far my favorite investment to date. 😉

          Like

      • Well I did finally buy him, not for the blam payout but becaus I was so close with all the free clams flying around.

        I can give this feedback:
I feel that my purchase of 2 large BLAM trucks at the start of the event was a complete and utter waste of money.

Premium charachter never before added so mich value, and after my experience with Templr of the Moon, saw the trucks as my only hope to reach the top. I played TotM like a maniac but didn’t buy any idol generating items and only managed to barely break 75,000 even with the mummy spawn glitch.

Running the streak up to 25x 7 times is a greater payout than 2 large blam trucks over the entire event and should be able to be accomplished with BC in about 15 days (using the other charachters too).
But BC is 300 clams cheaper than 2 blam trucks and once the event is over has far more game play value.
Is it too much to ask that for such a big ticket item that they give us some sort of hint as to just how much impact a future item may have?

The real issue is that this sort of game relys on fear of failure and panic induced buying to make a certain percentage of their goals. But when customers realize they have essentially been tricked into buying horribly cost ineffective items they are going to close their wallets in the future.
The amount of money I have spent on this event isn’t the issue. its the percent of that amount that I now feel was wasted (2/3) that is making me very unlikely to open my wallet again in the future. At least until I can see some changes, more guidance on event purchases (prehaps a ‘recommended play level’- If you can only drop by Quahog a few times a day, THIS is the item that will keep you in the race! or something like that)

I’m not gonna let the fear of missing the top prize ever move me to buy a currency generating item again. I’d rather miss out then feel cheated and and ripped off like this again.

        Like

        • I can see your point. I also know that ALL games run that way. It is same with grocery stores and why they store certain items on end caps or at registers. “Impulse buying”. Nothing new in that part of the business world. LOL.

That reason is why we highly suggest to players to let us test out items and, as hard as it is, be patient and not jump to buy all. Especially in beginning. Let it play out a bit and weigh what is really needed to buy…then if you still want the other item and have the Clams…get it to. 😉

It is just a way of life in general. Car companies, grocery stores, clothing stores, electronic stores…on n on n on…they all have “impulse buy” down.

  13. Well, reading this makes me feel like a complete frikkin idiot for buying 2 big blam trucks right at the beginning. Sounds like proper use of BC would allow even greater blam payout and pretty much gurantee GT.

Good job reeling me in like a rube at the county fair tiny co. was totally happy with my purchase until I realized BC is a vastly better buy. So now my buyers remorse means no more of my hard earned yen for you for the foreseeable future.

  14. I think Bryan Cranston is worth it for the 2 hour pesticide task – I am constantly able to grab the 25x multiplier because of it. However no one seems to mention that when Bryan Cranston was first made available on Android he was only 300 clams, which is great value for money.

It seems they decided later for him to unlock lots of stuff and put the price up to 500 clams. But I definitely only paid 300 clams for him – am I the only one that caught this?

Not sure I would pay 500 clams, but 300 clams was well worth it…

    Like

    • You’re lucky. Many items are released with initially lower prices (usually by error) and then raised within a day. I got him for 500 and bought him the moment I could on my iOS device.

      Like

    • I bought him for 500 but rushing his task only cost 4 clams so I spammed the hell out of that function spending over 200 clams doing so. I go back later to rush again and it had jumped in price to 32 (!) Clams to rush a 2 hour task.

  15. I was just wondering peoples opinions on the best items to spend clams on for a freemium player? I have saved up 321 clams all of a sudden and I had always thought that if I ever got that many I would buy Conseula but she doesn’t seem to have much use anymore. The same goes for some of these limited time buildings that seem to be no use other than collecting one item.
I just don’t know if I should buy a premium character or gamble on Robo-Brian or Robo-Stewie once he comes alive properly too

    • This is a tough call, if you had 500 I’d strongly suggest Cranston. But you are right about the four Premiums, they do have buildings and they do generate double coins and XP, but other than that….nothing (well except for the cool factor of having some of them in your town). I’d hold off for a bit, check out what the next phase brings to the game. 😉

      • Thanks for the advice. I was thinking about maybe putting in a bit of my own money for Cranston but I’m going to stay freemium for a while yet. I think I will hold off for a bit and then maybe just go for Conseula if nothing else comes up as I do love her 🙂

  16. Well I say if you are willing to spend money and want to get as much Blam as possible during the event so far he has been worth every clam.

On a side note I’m a little wary about this weekends new launch. They just took away the 3 pack of batteries and added in a 48 pack for 500 clams. I really hope that doesn’t mean anything but I’m going to stop wasting my batteries on the latcher Stewies for now and see what we have in store for our game later.

Anyone got any ideas on Felicia? (I had never heard of her before TQFS. Glad I did though, her gaming videos are hilarious XD)

Back on topic, I couldn’t resist not buying Bryan. I have just got the Q hotel, so am well on my way to Takei 😀 I cannot wait to hear him saying “Oh myyyyy!”

  22. Uggg..$20 for Cranston, I thought….way toooo much. I was in it for $10, but $20…entirely too much, even for the blue stuff. HOWEVER, after seeing all the raving here last week over his pesticide drop (an maybe having a couple of beers) I decide drop the clams. Honestly the event was becoming a bit of a chore and celebs were starting to pile up because I had everyone on short blam tasks most of the time, but I was still about a day or two behind on the Android calendar. But since getting BC I can let him earn all the pesticides to get that sweet Stewie blam and everyone else can focus on unlocking celebs and costumes. Now I have all the available celebs unlocked, all the blam purchasable buildings built, and I’m a week ahead on the Android Blam Calendar….now if only the #@$@ sundaes would start dropping for Blobulous. If you buy only one thing…buy BC…unless Nathan Fillion does something better ’cause you know…Firefly, Firefly, Firefly, and Captain Hammer (way better than Captain Hammered)…

  23. I scooped him up and am more than happy. It does make buying the Blam! Sommelier Station look like a miscalculation, as the loot Cranston drops in 8 hours is worth a minimum of 1,600 Blam! versus the 250 the barkeep hands out during the same period. “For me,” Bunny wrote, “it is just too early in the game to be making such an investment without seeing what else will be offered.” But did I heed Bunny’s advice? Nope! Still, it looks cool.

But Cranston, as Herbert would put it: that’s the one you want! Barring an act of God I don’t think I can not get Takei with him on board. 🙂

  25. I bought him mostly due to his in game ability. Having him rocketed me up past 90,000 Blam tonight. He will be useless in a day, or so I guess. There are not many things to buy with Blam, unlike the awesome Adventure update. I think he is far worth the purchase over the truck and the bar. Even if you get him NOW he will help you get to 100,000 before the event ends in 20+ days.
I got the Stewie Factory tonight. Outside of generating coins and XP every 8 hours, I haven’t seen it do anything else yet. I guess it will be like the hotel and do really nothing at all.

  26. Just to give a little hope to my fellow freemium players let me update you on where i am. i just reached 34,000 blam and caught up to the android calendar a few minutes ago (i was about 10k short 2 days ago). i have had peter, patrick and ron on pesticide duty non-stop and the rest working to unlock all the skins and such i need.

i just unlocked blobulus and will add him to pesticide duty in the morning when he’s free. i only need 2 more dice and 2 more 80’s jams for felicia and hope to have her by tomorrow eve. i have also built all the blam buildings available except for the forest which i will add when my worker is free tomorrow.

have i been living in the game?? YES. do i expect to hit the 100k?? ABSOLUTELY!! will i spend any money to do it?? HECK NO. it is possible and i know i will make it now. i am not trying to brag i just want to show that it is possible to get all the freebies with some time and patience invested.

i did spend the 55 free clams we got lately (50 free + 5 for facebook visit) plus what i had saved to get the last 6 blobulus sundaes as i was sick of waiting and them clams was burning a hole in my pocket. i am having no problem hitting 15x multiplier each 24 hours and even maxed it 2 times today (finally got green to hit which i had 40 of!!)

so do you NEED to buy Bryan? nope. should you? if you want him and have the clams. am i jealous i won’t get him?? HECK TO THE MOTHERFARKIN yah 😦

(Or as Patrick Stewart would say “schedule”. 😀 ) I know this board must attract the more hard core TQFS gamers, but for all the clams I’ve shelled out (the battery factory was also a lousy investment on my part, I could concede) plenty of Freemium gamers are really only a day or two behind me it would seem.

Considering we all can get all the Bryan Cranston we’d ever want with a Netflix subscription, or via various cheaper means, etc., let’s put jealousy aside. not much but it’s really more than i can afford. gonna hang on though and see if they make a better clam sale offer later in the event. might be able to scrape together 9.99 !!!! yah i know i BALLIN like that

Now that I’ve got everyone unlocked except Blobulous(hopefully tomorrow) pesticides are easy to come by. Unless somehow all the celeb characters join together to form Voltron to defeat final mutant Stewie I can’t justify the clams. If that happens TinyCo can have my paycheck.

  31. I am tempted to buy Bryan Cranston, as I of course want George Takei (and Bryan Crantson’s awesome.) But you just know that Nathan Fillion is going to cost clams, and since I am still in college, I’m hoping that he’ll go for a more reasonable amount…say 300 clams. Fingers crossed. Absolutely love Nate Fillion.

  32. Wish I knew what Nathan Fillion is going to bring us. Assuming he is premium I’m only dropping that much on one character. BC’s tasks after the event doesn’t interest me, and while his pesticide rate is awesome I think I’m doing ok blame wise, since that’s all Peter, Pearls and Jean Luc are doing. With the new ways to earn and multiply Blam! , I’m regretting dropping 400 on the Super Truck.
I’ve also been lucky since the update with Ice Cream drops, zapping while the big guy is down and Quagmire has earned 2 I’m only one away :)… Chris ears Pesticides right?

  33. I did come to terms with buying him for one reason. As much as I didn’t want to give money to TinyCo, I had the feeling I’d be more upset if at the end of the event I didn’t unlock Takei. Also, I bought the clams using my kindle, which had Amazon Coins currency I bought at 25% off, so I essentially paid $15 for $20 worth of clams. Also got the bonus blam from that clam promotion, so there’s that. He has certainly made things easier for me; I was able to get the second vehicle quest done on time, when I might have run into trouble with just Peter and Patrick Stewart earning pesticides. Now I’ve got Peter off pesticide tasks to try to farm up those sundaes, and I’m not missing his production. I do hope Fillion is more reasonably priced, but I wouldn’t be surprised if his price matches Cranston’s.

  36. 500 Clams is just too ***** expensive. Maybe.. $10-20 to spend each event is reasonable, but when you’re spending that much on one character, PLUS you’ve got 10s of other buildings and decorations to buy, AND the events not even half over… that’s just f-ing ridiculous.

The price to reward ratio is just not there. After an event, the character/building just slips away into the background and you forget about it. It’s all impulse pricing (Gouging) and the more events like this I see, the less chance there is I’m going to spend any money at all. If it’s not worth it now, it won’t be worth it in 3 months, so why even try to get all the items? It’s pointless unless you want to spend $2000 on a game you’ll forget about in a year.

And I use to think $60 for a Playstation game was expensive…

    • I understand that being premium is not for all players. The options are there for those that do want to spend, regardless if it is “just a game”. We all have our entertainment budgets and we each use them to entertain ourselves differently. That is why there are variables of games, one may not fit you while another will. It is a matter of doing what YOU want to make YOU happy.

People spend for sheer enjoyment. So it is a personal choice. If you choose to invest…then do so. If not, then do not. I have seen MANY other games offer so much less for 10 times more.

You advised me to save the clams for something I would really like. Well, I had already bought Bryan Cranston and now I see you suggesting that we do that. Your advice is always spot on Bunny.

  40. I love Bryan Cranston and was looking forward to getting him in my game. I am a HUGE Breaking Bad fan and everything else he is in. It broke my heart when I found out he cost clams, let alone 500. I am on a tight budget as is and don’t have the funds for clams so it hurt when he came out as premium. I can only hope Nathan Million isn’t up for clams either. 😦

  41. He’s expensive but his pesticides earning task more than makes up for it I’m doing each giant stewie and I have enough pesticides saved up for a backup if I ever need it I have hit the 25x 6 times in a row now and still going. At this rate George Tekai is as good as mine. Im 200 blam away from getting the Q hotel and I’m not slowing down.

Much better buy so far than the other premium characters who do nothing in this event not even earn blam. They really need to change that if I’m going to pay real money for a character they better be worth it and so far they haven’t made them worth it for this event and it’s really sad.

  42. I bought him this past Saturday when there was the Clam/Blam package. Totally worth it. So for 20 bucks (600 clam package) I got Bryan Cranston, never watched BB (please hold your gasps) but still appreciate the actor, 4000 Blam, plus 100 clams left over. Sent him on that amazing 2 hr task for days, and completing his questline when I could. I held off on vanquishing stewie, and the Blaze car challenge, until I amassed over 40 of each spray. My sister was the one who introduced me to the game and was shocked I put any money into the game. But I said you get out whatr you put in, and I wanted more out of the game so IMO it was worth it. No regerts!!!! 🙂 I finally got the Blaze car and Red Hot a couple hrs ago, sitting at 35,664Blam and have more than enough sprays to get back up to to 25x. Feeling like I got a bit of breathing room now until friday. Now if only 4 Sundaes would appear it would be a PERFECT day in my Quahog 😀

  43. I’m a little sad he doesn’t have like a 1-minute “sneeze” task, wherein he sneezes and is handed an Oscar!

  44. Sadly I am going to stop subscribing. Every post I read makes me more nuts. If you remember I contacted you because I went back to level one on my game after linking it to my Facebook and then doing the update. I was only 4,000 blam behind on the calendar but I had so much pesticides that I knew I could catch up. I had plenty of clams. But I haven’t heard back from TinyCo. And I’m losing hope. If by some miracle they can get my game back I will come running back but for now thank you all for your help. You guys are wonderful.

  46. I was totally going to boycott and not buy him, until I read on here that he gives you as much pesticide as he does. I’ve had him for a few days and boy am I glad! I’m wayyyyy ahead of the blam calendar now. This blog is the best except I can’t seem to stop spending money on this game! Keep up the great work!

  47. I bought him straight away, worth it for what he earns back in pesticides which, like u guys, I did the maths Vs Rupert boxes. I’ve managed to get the x25 couple of times due to the fact he gives all 3. Might even get Takei at this rate, halfway there so far!

  48. I bought him right away. 500 clams was a bit much, but he paid off quickly. Because of his pesticide earning tasks, vanquishing giant stewie has brought me 20,000 blam! over the last 3 days. At that rate, getting George Takei and the 100 clam reward looks guaranteed.

  50. I also bought it as my first ever item I bought in the game. I find it expensive, but come one. It’s Bryan Cranston.
