Well it looks like TinyCo had some success in getting the update out…as phase 2 is now live! In order to kick it off you must go to your tree and tap on it (it should have a bow). This will upgrade your tree to the 2nd Phase.
One thing you’ll notice is it looks like TinyCo decided to make a little winter storm hit Quahog…as the blizzard conditions have picked up & some wind is now whipping in town!
We’ll be back with more info as soon as we go through it…

You can craft Jesus in the Workshop…BUT he’ll take a while to get. To get Jesus you’ll need:

However, there’s something cool with Jesus….Once you have Jesus, he will help you defeat Yeti. Once you level him up to Level 3, he will have a special 24-hour action, “Turn Water into Clams,” which has a chance to drop clams!
New Premium Character to Buy
John in Argyle’s Limo- 200 Clams. Limo earns 5 Cookies and 1 HC/2hrs. John can also attack the Yeti.
John’s attack level for the Yeti is a 2 or 3…higher than Lois & Mort. Great in combination with them to defeat the Yeti Quickly!
YES…he is voiced. And YES he says what you’re all hoping he says.
For those that don’t know….he’s from Die Hard. And YES it is Bruce Willis voice.
Yeti
You’ll find the Yeti in your Christmas Village. To defeat the Yeti you’ll need Sexy Santa Lois, Hanukkah Mort, John or Jesus (when you get him) to do the 4-hour action “Battle the Yeti”. Each completed attack will do either low or high damage to the Yeti. The higher the level the harder he is to defeat.
You can send multiple characters to attack him at once…this defeats him faster
Each time you attack the Yeti and defeat him you’ll move him up to a new level, where he’ll change hats:
Each level of defeat the rewards increase…
As you can see not every hat is unlocked yet…more will unlock as the event progresses.
You’ll be able to see his health meter as it will float over his head….

How Often Does the Yeti respawn?
After you defeat him he’ll respawn again in 4hrs. When he comes back he’ll be at the next level.
What’s the 24hr Timer For?
This counts down how long you have to defeat the Yeti to keep the streak going. Once you defeat him the clock will reset back to 24hrs. The streak is the only way to get him to increase his hat level…ie you earn more rewards for beating him.
If you don’t defeat him within 24hrs, he’ll escape and reset back to the first hat level…Viking.
What Are the Different Yeti Levels & How Many Health Points Does it Take to Defeat Him at Each Point?

Weekly Challenge..
For this week’s Challenge you’ll have to defeat Cowboy Yeti (the middle level) in 4 days. This should be fairly easy to achieve. Just continuously send Lois to defeat him once it triggers. Although if you have Mort it can make it go faster.
Peter triggers this one after you’ve checked out the details on the Yeti and defeated him once. It will be shortly after The Great Quahog Blizzard Pt. 2. So if you don’t want to trigger it…don’t tap on Peter after that point.
Update: Sorry guys…I couldn’t remember last night if it was after Part 2 or 3 that the challenge triggered. So I went with shortly after Part 2. Better to be safe then sorry. If it’s not triggering for you…finish part 3 and see if that helps it trigger. However, if you don’t want to trigger it…don’t tap on Peter after you get the Clams popup. (below)

How many Clams will Jesus drop and at what rate. I just bought 3 snow cone places and one 1000 drp gingerbread house. Seems like a no brainer that eventually Jesus will pay for himself. Just wondering how long it will take.
Seriously its the best gift ever if you have the money up front. With 3 snowcones and I miss one drop a day. Ill have more than enough to get Jesus in 11 days.

Seriously? Three Frosty Butt’s? Why? With zero places and one John you will receive thirty or forty snowflakes every two days from a run on the Childish Yeti. And cookies are coming in 15 to 1900 per day without spending 600 clams on a house.
It’s your money but with only John most players should have the stuff for Jesus by the end of next weekend. That’s 1200 clams rather than 200 you have spent.
It is possible Tiny will throw the rarity and expense of clams but unlikely – a free Jesus is not going to give away any more clams than Ollie. If that is the case, it will take you more than FIVE YEARS to have a return on your extra investment.

I only had 180 clams…. bought a 275 clam package (and got the cookies and snowflakes) just to get John McClane.

I spent all (but like 10) of my clams to get the Christmas decorations for the Griffin house. why is Mort’s decorations so expensive? *sigh* to get me to spend money… *sniff* I would love to get Christmas decorations for the other houses too (for free – a gal can dream). I want the houses to earn more for longer like they do with the halloween decorations I have on them, but I hate that they still have halloween up at Christmas! but I don’t want the little quick tasks for no decorations either.
I do wish they’d “spread the love” a bit more with the characters earning tasks. I’m sick of 1 or 2 characters doing everything & it’s all demanded at the same time. Santa Lois has about 4 backlogged tasks in my game. most of which take a long time! But I am glad to see Joe getting a costume soon (as seen as being locked in the character section of the buy menu). It seems like they keep forgetting him!
I barely got Mr Weed. I’m hoping I can get Jesus a lot quicker than that! But I’m worried since it seems like the only way is to get those darn snowflakes & the only way to get snowflakes is the yetti – which looks really hard. but we’ll see. Nothing’s impossible with God, right?
btw, I bet TinyCo (or the fox writers) are loving how many of you guys are saying you need to find Jesus or buy him or something like that. It’s just great reading!

Okay I have a problem lol
Stevie has a quest objective to open a snowflake box…. Um.. Well… I kind of got all the snowflake things before I got that quest trigger and now the game is stuck. What on earth do I do?

Even when the yeti is defeated you can still send people to attack him. In theory you get an extra 4 hours in beating him.

It works for John…tricky for Lois and Mort as if they are not ALREADY on the task, the task goes away while he hibernates. So you got to make sure to send anyone you can and clear only one at a time. If he isn’t defeated IMMEDIATELY send that character right back on the task BEFORE tapping any other check marks. That way if the OTHER character defeats him, you still have at least one character getting a jump start. Just make sure again you do NOT clear their check mark until you start the next Yeti attack so it will count towards it. 🙂

everytime i hit the yeti with Lois, i have NOT got any blue stockings, no gingerbread men or even holiday cheer points!.had Lois attack him a total of 3 times since last night,(or maybe 4 i forget) and i havent recieved anything. My boyfriend just finished attacking him with Lois ONE TIME and he got blue stockings and eveything. IS this a glitch or am i missing something?..somethings gotta be wrong because im into my game ALOT more than the bf lol.

Very odd. First I heard. Did you notice if it was just visual? ie…you just didnt SEE them pop out but your counts still went up? Check next time and if they are not showing AND not counting…alert TinyCo from your game right away please.

no they didn’t pop out at all because my count still says 0 snowflake stockings. wow, i think mine is very glitched now because i just read your comment i think below mine: you said after each hit the yeti should reset back to 24 hours?! ahhhh nooo! mine didn’t reser back to 24 hours at all!!! ughh so i have him with 1 health bar because like i said ive had Lois attack him 3 or 4 times since last night. his timer now has like 35 minutes or so left with Lois attacking for another 2 hours lmao.
im gonna keep on eye on it now to see whats gonna happen when his timer runs out.is she just gonna keep throwing snowballs or is it gonna stop her task? so confused. 😦 …so glad you’re here to help tho!! 🙂

Just make sure you are looking at two different things. The payouts from the characters finishing the tasks vs the payout from zeroing out the Yetis Heart Level and defeating him. Those payouts will vary.

If you only got one hit from Lois each time then you still haven’t defeated the Yeti, so that is probably what happened… you need 4 in total for the first level. Your BF probably got 2 hits twice or with another character.

So, math: 6 tries being impossible, and setting alarms. Lois+John=3-5dmg. 5×3=15-25dmg. You’d need 1 John critical plus 1 Lois critical to beat a childish without Mort or Jesus. I love how there is still a chance to fail if you monitor your game for an entire day, before unlocking Mort.
BUT, if I get lucky and get Mort quick, damage tilts to 4-9, so on a high dmg run you could cash out the yeti for 40-50 snowflakes/day for 2-3, assuming you have the luck of a leprechaun wearing horseshoes and carrying loaded dice.

Everyone is OVER analyzing this. Honestly. The Yeti resets EACH time to 24 hrs after a hit. So…keep hitting him and NO time runs out…then he rests 4 hrs…Then levels up. EASY to do.

Bunny that is not true. He resets to 24 hours after a defeat, not a hit. I’ve hit the cowboy yeti 3 times now and only taken off 4 hit points and the timer is still counting down with 16 hours left.

And people ARE over analyzing. Everyone is SO focused on the stats for the CHILDISH Yeti. I think people are failing to see it is actually the COWBOY Yeti that needs to be defeated. 10HP in 24 hrs.

I looked through the comments to see if anyone else had this problem, and I have already submitted a help request to TinyCo. Wanted to post it here, so maybe someone else can be spared this headache.
I somehow managed to open all the Snowflake Presents before Part 4 of the Great Quahog Blizzard quest triggered. That quest is for opening the snowflake gift box. Since I got all the valid presents from them already, the present is once again locked, so it seems that I cannot complete this quest.
I’ll post a reply on this when I hear back from them.

Accidentally bought John McClane today, because I like to feint myself and put the object in the land and then cancel, but accidentally bought him. Whatever, he will be a big help getting Jesus, and that’s cool. Still have one more item for Jasper (the Dance thing) but after that I’ll put Lois on yeti duty.

Nope. I see it too. It is how you get a JUMP on defeating him. A great help. Makes the defeats go a lot faster.

Everywhere. You may not be able to see him depending on where you set him on the task as he goes underground. Lifts up a section and drops down in. Then pops out here n there with his gun…like he is in tunnels.

If McClane is the only premium purchase you make, by the end of the event he’ll only cost you 145 clams, and likely less considering how many clams this game gives away. You get 55 clams for upgrading the 10 cheer levels and you’re likely to get 4-6 clams a week from visiting friends Quahogs.

Well, I’m stuck on Blizzard Part 4 “Open the Snowflake Gift Box.” I’d already won all the prizes from the Snowflake Box before this popped up, and the task is to open the box. Except, obviously, I can’t open the box anymore. I sent TC a message about 8 hours ago and haven’t heard from them.
As an aside, and perhaps part of the issue, my last conversation with them through the help menu was still open, and since I couldn’t figure out how to add a new conversation, I tacked it onto this open one. Maybe that’s the issue/delay? Regardless, any wisdom on this? I tried hard closing the app, but it didn’t help.

For those not in the US that are interested in getting the clamdeal
As you can see the exchange rate is different for iOS and Google, so if you have the game on different systems check which has the best rate, for me it was google. Shouldve specified that the $ save is in US currency.

I’m surprised no one’s mentioned that Hanukkah Mort’s unlock items seem to be reversed.
Let me explain what I mean by “reversed.”
Historically, you could get an estimated time required to earn the needed requirements. And in many cases, that time was fairly equal across the items. But with Hanukkah Mort:
The Dreidel’s have tasks averaging 6 hrs, and we only need 5 of them. If they drop at Uncommon rates, the 5 Dreidels should be earned in under 24 hours.
But the Super-Menorah is sitting at nearly 10 hrs per task, dropping at Rare rates, so to earn 10 of these will most likely require 4 days to earn.
If you analyze the patterns, it really looks like they intended costume to require 10 Dreidel’s and 5 Super-Menorah’s. Which would make the estimated earn time 2 days for all 3 of Mort’s items.

No, I don’t think so. They want you to take at least the weekend to unlock Mort, preferably longer. This keeps you on the event timetable. It gives you a few days to collect enough currency to clear the next level of gifts, other quests and be ready for next tree upgrade with little downtime.

Is there a glitch that causes my Christmas cookies to disappear? On my main screen it shows only 840 but when I go into the work shop its shows 5140 cookies next to the Holiday cheer level.

That is odd. I know at times it may take a lil for the two to sync up. Did you try to force close and restart then check again? If still same after a few hours, report it. It may just be the usual sync delay.

Mine is the same. I dont think it is actually ‘missing’ cookies. I think the workshop total is how much cookies we have earned so far for the WHOLE event. Kinda like it did with blam during comic con (where we had to reach a certain amount to earn each prize down the line). So the total we see on the main game screen is how much we currently have to use. At least that’s my assumtion based off of the very loose math i just did when comparing my two amounts and taking into account what i have purchased so far 🙂
As for WHY we need to see the grand total if the prizes aren’t broken down like the comic con ones……..No clue lol

I believe that 5140 is what you have earned so far and 840 is what is left after you spent it on buildings, decorations and blah. So 840 is what you can actually spend now. I have no idea why they show the total amount of cookies earned though. Pretty useless to me.

I’m actually finding it useful in gauging how much I need to do to get the cookies for Jesus. “Let’s see I made X amount in this many days by clearing my buildings and having Y characters do Z, considering more buildings are now producing and more characters have tasks and I can just definitely make X amount again in this many days plus probably Q for these new cookie-producing skins and characters…”

I have seen this question attempted to be asked at least twice here with no resolved response, so I will ask also to see if we can get some guidance. If you only have Lois (unlocking Mort currently)… and it takes 4 hours to defeat the yeti for 1 or 2 HP…and the cowboy hat yeti takes 10 HP to beat…Lois will be able to attack a max of 6 times in 24 hours (that means a minimum of 6 HP damage and a maximum of 12 HP damage total)…it seems you would have to be lucky to beat cowboy yeti and get at least high-damage 4 out of the 6 times you fight him. So, maybe completing the weekly challenge with only Lois is more ‘unlikely’ than it is ‘likely?’

While you are correct that 24/4=6, you will never be able to send her on task 6 times in 24 hours, due to the fact that even one second missed will put you over 24 hours. She can only do that task 5 times in 24 hours, for an absolute maximum of 10hp, if you get a max hit every time.

Plus I believe this means no sleep during that day.I mean needing a total of 20hours fighting,it either leaves you only 4 hours to sleep or putting an alarm clock every 4 hours????ehm….kinda impossible seems to me..

Remember too that there is no way to actually get a 6th hit in without using at least 1 clam to speed up the final attack. Just an observation.

I’m not sure how many clams you have, but using them to get McClain is a good investment. I’ve used him and Lois to defeat Yeti with relative ease and unlocked thus week’s prize.

really disappointing, this not-freemium-friendly challenge reminds me trick-or-treaters challenge. my suggestion is dont tap peter until you have got mort skin

It is a tricky one. Having Mort will really help. Lois doing it alone will really be based on HPs and you in the game every 4 hrs to ensure she is reset on her task.

Who thinks the same story will play out? Free players complain it is impossible to complete this week’s task and then paying players moan when their purchases are devalued with an alteration.
It seems not possible that free players can complete this week’s challenge – Chanukah Mort will not be available well into the end of the week (even if that) and Lois cannot complete the challenge on her own – she has only two chances over the four days to get five perfect hits in a row – very unlikely.

just collect mort skin first, then trigger the quest, so there is a chance for freemium player to complete the challenge and dont forget to set the 4 hour timer

But that is the point – there is no ‘just’ about collecting Mort’s skin. The chances of ten extra rare drops in five-and-a-half or six-and-a-half days is low. With three characters twice a day (ten hour tasks) that needs a one-in-three drop. Extra rares are not one-in-three.

Somehow i have screwed up,. im on the mission “Quahog blizzard pt.4” where you need to open a snowflake gift. but ive already opened all the snowflake gifts so its not available anymore…. spent a steaming lode of clams. anyone got any ideas???

Happy Holidays everyone!
There are some new, short tasks in the game for characters to earn Holiday Cheer, for instance, Herbert has a new task ‘Call on Chris’ (2 hours), Peter has ‘Tell Bedtime Stories’ (2 hours), Quagmire has ‘Donate Toys’ (4 hours). There may be some others.
Also, the one new 24hr task I mentioned last week for Jake Tucker to Whale Watch has disappeared from the game.
I have not got any of Hanukkah Mort’s Super-Menorah’s or Star-of-David-Sheilds, yet, got all Dreidels almost immediately, and I am not sure why. The game may have credited me for each time I had done Peter’s Christmas Tree Task before Mort appeared, because I did not even have time to do 5 tasks to earn the dreidels after he came into my game. Not complaining! I have a long way to go anyway to release him, and my first round of tasks for the Shield and Menorah dropped nothing.
And last, I suggest that everyone who plays a few times a day should consider building both Quagmires cabin and Nakatomi Plaza now, even if you don’t plan on buying John, a premium character.
These buildings are bought for cookies. Based on the amount of time left in the game, (as of now – 19 days left) and how often you play, these buildings should throw off enough gingerbread cookies to more than pay for them self and then some.
Nakatomi Plaza – Cost:250 Cookies. Earns12 cookies every 8 hrs, meaning payback is just 21 clicks over 19 days left means you need to hit it about 1-2 times a day to break even, but you have theoretical ability to hit it as much as 3 times a day, earning you as much as 684 cookies total from this one building less 250 you paid =434 cookie profit.
Quagmires cabin – Cost: 500 Cookies. Earns 8 Cookies every 4hrs, meaning payback is 63 clicks over 19 days left means you need to hit it about 3-4 times a day to break even, but you have theoretical ability to hit it as much as 6 times a day (if you don’t ever sleep). Theoretically, you can get 48 cookies a day for 19 days left =913 cookies, less 500 cookies you paid = 412 cookie profit. This profit will be harder to reach, I know I plan to sleep.

I’m a little confused. You say that we need 18 HP to defeat childish yeti. Ignoring the adage about assuming, let’s assume that we have both Lois and Mort attacking yeti. Assume that during a 24 hour period, one has to get some sleep and take care of personal duties, which allows one to send Lois and Mort 4 times each to defeat yeti. That is 8 attacks. And again assume that they hit yeti for the maximum damage on each attack. That scenario will get you 16 HP. Am I missing something?

Everyone needs to just take a step back and stop over analyzing this one. He resets EVERY hit. So…you have a LOT of time to do it. Just wait and see the post.

I decided to get John this time after holding back with Halloween and American Dad. It felt like a logical choice because he’s so awesome, but also he’s really practical at this time. I still haven’t unlocked Jasper, and with no Mort attired unlocked to take on the Yeti, someone needs to take the load off of Lois so she can get the other tasks done.
I now have a machine gun. Ho. Ho. Ho.

I just accidentally purchased a silver gift box and I’m so sad to have wasted 75 clams. It was half my clams! I thought I was unwrapping my snowflake box. I read that tiny co doesn’t refund mistakes, and I understand that. I’m super careful with clams though, now all I have is a big useless decoration. 😭

Having Lois train in flame combat doesn’t help with the Star of David Shields. Or at least it doesn’t in my game.

Is it even possible for Santa Lois to defeat the 10HP Cowboy Yeti within 24 hours? So far she is more likely to get 1 HP every 4 hours. This feels like the Claus situation all over again. Hanukkah Mort is just starting to collect stuff (2 rare items…) and definitely impossible to complete and defeat the required Yeti within 4 days. Looks like yet another challenge to push us use clams. I should finally give up on this game after Christmas.

We always see everyone jump and say “it’s impossible” but each time, we see many ways it is quite opposite. Just keep an eye out and tips will be coming to help you complete it. 😉

So glad the timer for the Yeti resets to 24 hours after every time you defeat him. Makes it a little easier to do the challenge. Undecided if I want to spend clams on McClane though
