Hey there Clammers, Bunny hopping on by to make a cute lil cozy spot in our new lil world where you can shout at me…errr…well…comment to me anyway of the big (or lil) glitches and hiccups you are running into with your game. We are bound to run into a few as the game gets its bearings. No worries, they eventually get ironed out and patched up.
So here is a place that you can come to and notify us when you run into troubles with a glitch. This way I can pick up on a trend and let TinyCo know right away so they can work on correcting it. They are quite fantastic to work and communicate with. Very helpful to their players.
So tell me your problems and try to include a few key points like the device you play on and/or what was happening when you experienced the Glitch.
As always, you can use the great design of the game to get further help should you need it. Just a tap of the Menu and go into Help & Support.
UPDATE 4-13 6:45om EST:
TinyCo has found the source of the timing issue with the characters (they start a task and after being left for hours, still have same time remaining as when you left the game.) Update to resolve the issue is in the process along with Bruce Glitch.
Here are a few suggestions from TinyCo to resolve issue in the meantime.
In some cases, if you log off before a character begins an action, the game will not start the action. You will know an action has started when you see the countdown timer appear.When you assign actions, wait until the action countdown timer begins. Once the action is going, it is safe to log off.To be extra sure, we recommend leaving the game running for a minute or two before exiting.
For those of you with the “Bruce” screen continuously popping up, please go to our Bruce Glitch Thread and follow the instructions there. I will continue to update it as I get response back.

Help please bunny! The perfume sprayers have frozen my game, can’t go near any roads as it just freezes, can’t get to characters or couples, force closed, uninstalled, messaged tinyco…at a loss now.

Can you get in the game long enough to store some items? Do you have a lot of animated/moving items or buildings in your game? See if you can try any of these steps while you wait for their response.

Got on long enough to remove alot of things but it seems it’s where they’re removing the perfume sprayers, so I clammed Cheryl forward and there’s only one glitchy area left now, I think it’s my last sprayer being cleared, thanks for the advice! Stop my son laughing at me for getting so annoyed!

It’s the outside animation. Many games run into glitches with that kind of memory drain. I combat it in my games by storing items that are animated, trying to keep characters on inside tasks, and clearing MORE memory space on my device (along with making sure ONLY the game is running on my device). All this extra outdoor stuff is messing with the game. The PDA characters. The Sprayers. Etc. At least something is helping.

I tried following your tips. It…didn’t seem to improve much. I kinda think it has to do with the perfume sprayers because it didn’t start freezing my game until they showed up in my game last night. Also, I get those weird glitchy animations when Glenda & Arnold try to clear them (but not Ida…hmm). However, I did notice the same type of animation glitch (only larger) hovering over the coffee shop sometimes when there’s a couple on a date in there. I have screenshots if you want me to send them in but I dunno who to send them to. 😛

Hard close your game, clear the cache, restart your device, reinstall TQFS and see if that helps clear it out.

Since the valentines update my game crashes a lot and when it goes back to my home screen the wallpaper changes to a default one. I’m on galaxy s5. Anyone else having this problem?

I have same phone, same problem. Any luck getting an answer back yet?I’ve spent an insane amount of money on this game. I’m embarrassed. But, saying that..now game keeps freezing, crashing, characters don’t do what I sent them out to do, I come back to check the hours and All my characterstuff are walking around. If not all. Many. And ones I made sure it the clock had started. Anyway, been playing yr, yr 1\2. I had tons of animations n all characters. I put most the moving stuff away but, are u saying, I’m a member of Google that I can just save my game..in Google + games or Gmail or something else entirely. I won’t restart this game. btw. The valentine’s debacle is a hot a hot mess. Hi. Today about 30 minutes ago I recieved the last ghost I needed for King Butt. I clicked the pyramid and then hit “ready”. The game took me out of the pyramid, but then disabled the ability for me to click or drag anything. Animations are still going on in the background and tasks are still taking place, but I can’t click any checkmarks, I can’t slide the screen, I can’t visit the shop, I can’t visit the inventory, etc. All abilities of movement have been taken. I have tried exiting out of the app and restarting my phone but it still won’t let me do anything. (I have yet to uninstall because I’m at school right now.) Have you ever heard of this? Please respond because I really want King Butt and don’t want to miss out while I’m so close! Thank you!

I have not. Before you do anything too drastic, take a screenshot if you can of your game progress. Then, when you have a good strong WiFi signal, force close the app and restart your device again. Even see if it will let you go to Ollie Land.

Still can’t place the Barrington country club. I can’t do any of Buzz’s missions. I bought the country club months ago and still haven’t seen a fix for it, although now it’s back in my inventory. When I try to place it, I get an error message, “Problem placing item: country club in inventory”. Any idea?

This is a glitch that went around when District 9 first open, it should have been resolved with one of the app store updates. My best suggestion is to contact TinyCo and let them know you’re still getting the freezing, they may have to release another patch.

One – why can’t the Bitch Stewie cloning machine be stored. I keep getting a message from Peter saying I still have to unlock that character, but that event is long past.
Two – why am I still earning stuff for rite-of-passage tower. I already completed that once.

2 problems. 1 is I can’t tap the endless summer boombox. I saw it once and tried to place it but after that it disappeared. I tried getting Peter to drink coolade again but that didn’t work.
The other problem is I got the hooker Peter outfit but I couldn’t do the hooker task as he was already doing something else. Now I can’t get rid of the exclamation mark above his head and on the screen. What can I do?

Are you playing on Windows? If so, that is a known glitch and Kool Aid is NOT supposed to be in the game. A patch is coming to resolve that. As for the exclamation point stuck. Please contact them… again, if on windows use the appropriate email… help.windows@tinyco.com

Hi, Every time I try to unlock Patricia I get the ‘unfortunately family guy has stopped’ message come up and I get logged out… I’ve tried rebooting my phone/ not playing for a few hours/ updating my phone and nothing works. Going on day four without game access. I get a weird character dual error and it simply won’t open the error just pops up over and over on my iPad. I’ve emailed them once and left two replies on their contact sheet, no reply yet. 😦 I’m starting to remember there is a sun and reconnect with my daughter, ack!

I have everything for Jillian and the lock is yellow and jumping but every time I go to unlock her my game crashes. I got her once and she and Glenn had a conversation then my game crashed and she’s locked again and won’t unlock.

I’m having an issue on the checklist. I still need to get Quagmire’s present, which says it is in the fancy gift box. But when I click on it, it says that I’ve completed the box, when I still need Quagmire’s present. I don’t know what to do. Yeti battle is terrible!!! Had Lois and Mort on task for 24 hours solid and NOT ONE BLUE STOCKING! Makes it very hard to progress. Not spending any more money and if it skips again, I’m out. Not worth the time when you do NOT receive ANY of the prizes.

I am battling the Childish Yeti and Mort just hit for 0.. Which now makes it impossible to beat him in the allotted time without spending clams.. I even used your tip to have Mort attacking while the Yeti was “away” so right off the bat he went down 2.. Have you seen or heard about Lois or Mort hitting for 0?

The Yeti will go in to hibernation for 4 hours even if Lois and Mort are not done fighting him, correct?

He will time out if you wait too long. The timer rolls down to zero and resets him to Viking.
Hibernation only happens when his HP reaches Zero

Some new outfits are filled with some items required, already picked up for other outfits then they dissappear.
E.g. Peter Anime had 4/3 bandanas, I built arcade and got last bandana to make lois Rambo, and Peter Anime went to zero bandanas.
Similar thing happened on another outfit.

I think you kind of answered you own question. There are items that SEVERAL characters need the same of. So…if you have say…3 characters needing a total of 25 items, and you have only collected 7…once you make one character, they will take what they need and leave the rest. You still have to collect the overall total amount. Much like money. You can’t use $20 to go to three stores and buy 3 $20 shirts again and again. Once the $20 is used, it is gone. Hope that helps to make sense.

I think the issue is it is difficult to tie up Lois for days just to get the stockings needed to make gifts needed to unlock jasper who is needed for the same stockings. Jasper has a time limit and this a catch22.

Looks like I ran into a big new glitch today. I’m on iPad 2. I noticed the blimp platform and boom box in the store, things I already have in Quahog. I foolishly built a second boom box, and now the game won’t start up. I just get the loading screen then the Consuela screen.

I’ve reported the same issue several times and keep getting a response (after several weeks) that says “tough ***, we have more important problems than fixing the thing that you paid for”.

So you got the automated “we’re Clearing messages of all those that had a mass issue we fixed so we can focus on those still needing help”?
And did you reply to the automated one to tell them you did still need help?
Message Clearing is normal and needs to be done on a weekly basis. Many players flood their inbox with basic questions the FAQ or or site can help answer. Or if a mass issue hits during a new update and they pushed a game patch fixing thousands of games at once and making all those emails pointless.
Just keep responding until you’re issue is fixed. Especially reply to the automated message clear. Doing so keeps you in line to be helped.

I’ve had my progress not register three times now today already. Numerous tasks keep reseting as if ive never completed them. Ive completed the thanksgiving task part one 3 freaking times now. I’ve had Peters boobs joke twice. Despite completing tasks, collecting and sending characters on new tasks it keeps going back as if the initial tasks weren’t completed. Some of my drops ain’t registering either. This is getting tedious. Any similar reports or ideas what is doing this?

When that happens to me, it’s usually when I’m in a poor WiFi area and the game can’t sync or if I left the game to fast for the actions to not be able to register (same if you’re kicked out while in middle of something)
All I can suggest is make sure you’re playing while linked to strong WiFi or visit at least Ollie land before you exit the game to give the game a chance to sync your progress.

All seems to be back to normal again… guess it just wasn’t syncing correctly the other day, though I’m not sure why exactly. I was only playing when home, sitting near my router, with no connection drop out. Odd.

I play family guy on my phone ( samsung s3). When i first started playing it was fine but now every time i go on the game which is quite often it crashes after a few seconds and completely goes off. So i have to reload and it goes off again making it really difficult to complete any quests. Im getting really frustrated now. Can anything be done. Im on level 40. Ive also got tapped out on my phone and that is fine. Thanks.

Limit amount of items in your town. Try to allow MORE storage space for it on your device (I keep mine on an external SD card). Make sure you are on a good strong WiFi Signal.

So dealing with the B word Stewie event, I went to sleep at 1120pm eastern (ie after a spawn cycle which I collected so there were no more Stewies & after I reset the 4hour tasks) I woke up at 315am eastern thinking I would get 2 sets (the 1am eastern ones and the 3am eastern ones) but I only got the 3am eastern ones (ie it doesn’t seem like the clones spawn unless you collect the 2 hour rent, I tried force closing after I collected the first 8, I did use the force close last night to power through the first 50, idk, I can collect every 2 hours during the day but I thought the purpose of having a clone max of 36 meant one could conceivably go on every 8 hours and still get all the clones– perhaps it means you can force spawn every 2 hours and just let them wander until you hit 8 hours and then bulk collect but I wonder if it’s a glitch or how tiny co wants it (I’m at around a 5% drop rate for the bubble beards so I’d need to maximize number of clones

Can not access the game, yellow bar loads on home screen then error message CALLED GETPLAYAREA BEFORE PLAYAREA EXISTS. Help me please

They sent a patch through for this. Have you tried resetting your device? Storing some items to help on memory drain? (Especially animated if you can get in). Make some room on your device storage itself?
If so, and nothing works…email them please. help@tinyco.com

Bunny what happened, was I nuked my town had about 4 buildings left with characters doing missions. I stored all my characters that weren’t busy in storage then my device died and since then I haven’t been able to get in. I’m going to email support now

Bunny, how long does it take for support to get back to you. I told them the problem, they sent me an e-mail asking for device id. So I sent them the screenshot of the load screen and my device Id.
Then they email me back the same email asking for device Id.

On the weekends it’s a skeleton crew, regular group will be back in offices this morning. If you gave them your screen shot already, give them time to fix it. They’re having to go in each game one by one to resolve it til the patch is done. So it’s going to be a bit for them to fix it.

The time spent trying to resolve it individually was probably just as long as to fix everyone at same time if not longer. Game wide patches are always better as they hit everyone at once. Sorry. Hang in there.

Er, after furious searching I found the sign “dropped” behind a building… my apologies, sorry for the inconvenience. I have emailed Tinyco and apologised for my stupidity 🙂

Mine got tucked in Inventory…Decos Section…Inbetween most of the Halloween items like Freddy’s Furnace Buddy the Gargoyle, Ghostbusters Lockers, Huge Freaking Skull, Octomom, and the scrub plants.
