Family Guy Addicts 
I’ve been playing since the game was released on Android, and managed to get everything… until now. The drop rate for candies has simply been horrible. I’ve got all the cowboy hats and mustaches, but only 18 candies so far, and even if I get a drop every time from now on, it’s impossible to get another 37 by the time the event ends. Not happy with this event at all.

for those that say the piñatas arent spawning every 2 hrs as advertised I noticed that when you go into your game they dont show up right away but if you do all your collecting and task asigning the piñatas wil show up. I think they just take a minute to load. With that said, im going to be cutting it pretty close with getting the costume. I will pay the calms to finish it up at the end if necessary so I dont miss out but I feel like this is the circus event all over again. I like the event, its fun and entertaining but I think they took a step backwords on the functionality. I guess we will find out with the poll just how many people are able to get him without using clams. I love the game and think tinyco is great, but I feel they messed up just a wee bit on this one.

Have you guys heard anything about the piñatas? The spawn rate is ridiculous, there is no way I will get 50 by Wednesday. Looks like I won’t get the costume nor finish the piñata quest😒

Another thing thats grinding my gears. They give you 2 more characters for plutonium and ive been sending connie and trica for 2 days thats over 10 times for trica over 5 for connie and guess what, they have not dropped one yet so now I have 5 characters not dropping plutonium. Theres nothing worse then having 5 check marks and not one plutonium drop.

I’ve been ill for last couple of days, so have been logging in hourly. For Spanish Peter, I’ve collected all the hats, have 1 moustache left to collect but only 25 candies. I have 27 blindfolds ready but no pinatas. I think only 5 piñatas total spawned all day – I whack each one as soon as it appears too. I don’t pay attention to posters who claim it’s mathematically impossible to do xyz, because playing the game has always proven them wrong – but I just can’t see the point in continuing unless they announce an increase the spawn rate by end of today.
It’s completely put me off the bigger event now, as I suspect that one is also riddled with bugs and all their energies are focused on sorting those before the launch date. Tired of being their “focus group” by playing and begging for fixes.

I see most comments are saying they are halfway there on collecting candy. That seems to sound good at first, but the problem is..the event is more than halfway over. There is probably little chance anyone playing freemium will get enough candy by the end of the event. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I am in the same boat as everyone else. I will probably have collected all the Cowboy Hats and Mustaches, but will fall short on Candy.
It is currently Monday about 12:00pm (noon) pacific time while I write this, and there are only 51 hours left in the event, if it is indeed over Wednesday at 3:00pm pacific time. That leaves enough time for 25 Pinatas to spawn, If you don’t have 30 Pinatas NOW, and assuming perfect 100% candy drop rates, you do not have enough time to get the required amount of candy for Peter’s costume.
Worst event schedule yet from TinyCo. Impossible to collect enough candies in the time allotted without buying a premium item, or buying out the remaining candy needed to get Peter’s costume.

Having hit every available piñata I have 22 sweets and am sitting on 20 bandanas this is a hard one to unlock unless they increase piñatas to every hour it will be almost impossible to get. I have unlocked every costume and character in the game so far.

Hello addicts. I play this game constantly. I’m at 26/55 and 32/50 and I took the addicts crew advice to not hit pinates till you need 50. I think it will be doable to get sso peter in time, even though candy doesn’t spawn every time, I had 6 so far not give any including the one I waited 2 hours for not give me one either a few minutes ago when I logged in. It’s kinda tight for tiny co if you haveto spend any clams to finish the colcollection, becouse that 25 clams should count for you, not to get sso peter, do you see what im getting at? They should at least extend it one more day or increess pinates to every hour. Thanks for the vent, and hopefully more addicts agree, in fact I think I’m gonna write tiny co right now in game. We need a revolution……. addicts lets revolt!!!!!!!!!!!

I personally am on par to get this “Pedro” costume, however I feel your pain! Personally, I am prepared to shell out some clams if I do not have the items collected. TinyCo. has been very generous with free clams in this game….much more so than the cheapo’s at EA and their donuts.

ive gotten 20/20 hats (only 1 in 21 times it didn’t drop) and 15/16 moustache so thats all good. 32/50 pinatas and 26/55 candy, they really need to extend a day or increase spawn rates on pinatas or candy – its their error, not ours!
Usually these skins or characters can be done with a day to spare, not sure ill get it with an hour to spare 😦

My thoughts on this event. It appears to me that the cowboy hats and mustaches are attainable in 6 days. However, the candies may have been doomed from the start. If you had started this event at 3PM PDT on Thursday, you needed almost 4 hours before you could start to collect the candies. That left 140 hours in the event or 70 piñatas. You would need a success rate of 78% in order to get the 55 candies by Wednesday. Sad to say it appears that this was poorly planned. TinyCo, of late, has been getting it right with all the changes they make on the fly. But, IMHO, they blew this one. Hopefully, there is still time to make some changes.

Like many comments before, it’s the candy I’m going to struggle to get. Got all mustaches and 15/20 hats so not worried on that score. However only 20/55 candies.
Like many others I’m a freemium player and was hoping to get Spanish Soap Peter without clams so I can finally get Buzz Killington. I suspect TinyCo may change the pinata drop soon as they’ve done that previously. Plus there were issues with the pinata timer early on in the event.

I hope they make some kind of effort rectifying their issues, but I’m remembering the last event where they were super firm on the cut-off time. Who knows where they’ll end up on this one. Trying to follow how to get to everything for that VD event was also super confusing and even with this site and reading the tips and comments, I gave up. I also boycotted purchases for that event cuz TinyCo isn’t giving any recoup time between events. I get that others are bored. I’m not. I’m freaking tired. So far… still boycotting.

28/55, 19/20, 11/16 so far. The parts I’m most worried about are of course the candies. I don’t seem to be getting pinatas as often as I’m getting blindfolds, though my last blindfold collection I had a couple of non-drops, so maybe the pinatas will catch up. We’ll see how I do come Wednesday.

Without purchasing the Piñata, this is event is impossible. Mustaches are not dropping well either. I hope the Star Trek event makes up for it!

Someone please correct me if I am wrong but through the whole event if a piñata spawns every two hours there would be a maximum of 60 for the whole event. But the story line wouldn’t have advanced to drop piñatas so it would actually be less. So even if you got candy 100% of the time. It would be difficult to get all 55 candies in time. And after you get SSO peter there would be no time left to finish the story line.

It’s not going to happen for me. Usually I’m fairly optimistic about getting whatever needs to be earned. My account has every available free resource for this event and I really didn’t want to spend clams to get him to complete the collection.
For the first time, I actually feel like they are using us and I feel like I should quit. Not just the event, but the whole game altogether because now it seems like a direction they are taking. If all the cool stuff has to be paid for and not earned then it becomes an ‘exclusive’ club. I don’t want to be a part of feeding the greed.
Sorry, but this really is the way I feel.

TinyCo has to make money on this FREE game that they work hard on. There are few premium items (most are buildings that help with drops). It would be nice if we could trade coins (that we all have a great abundance of) to get clams. But to expect everything to be earnable or free is entitlement on the player’s part. TinyCo deserves to get paid because they are constantly bringing out new events and such for it’s players.

Megan, I’ve spent a great deal of money already on this game. I am at Max level, have every character except a couple of Halloween ones because I didn’t care for them, I’ve bought the Stewie, Brian and Rupert boxes, I’ve bought Consuela, Jake Tucker, Arnold … The list goes on and on. I understand how it works. But what I am driving at here has NOTHING to do with ‘entitlement’ on my part.
The item in question is an EARNABLE one, am I right? So let it BE earnable, not impossible to get.

If you clear all of your coins, do you lose an opportunity for the piñata to spawn? Also, I have 28 candies, but the storyline is only crediting me with 5 piñatas.

Did you clear those pinatas before or after that task popped up? You have to have the task active for it to count towards the questline.
Also..no clearing money shouldn’t have an impact on the spawning…

yes, it probably has to do with when the task starts….I guess it’s impossible now to complete that task without buying the piñata….not sure that it ever was possible without the piñata or rushing previous tasks…

Finishes at 4,nice one. Most humans don’t finish work till after 5 and I don’t fancy getting a expensive pinata. Perhaps I could take my iPad to work and drive around looking for wi fi. Rant over.

There is no way I will get enough candy in either my A game or my B game. There aren’t enough pinatas and the drop rate is too low. The drop rate is inconsistent as well. Both games have the same number of pinata hits. Game A has a drop rate of 91%; game B 70%. My A game seems to be an anomaly judging from other commentors. TinyCo should drop the number of candies required (say to 30), increase pinata rates, and/or increase drop rates. This is a pretty terrible event.

so far. Couldn’t play intensively on saturday, so it looks like I’ll miss out on this costume. It’s strange how TinyCo varies with balancing the game. I messed up my timing with Phineas and Barnaby recently and had to collect for both of them at the same time, yet as a freemium player I was able to get them rather easily with pretty casual playing. This costume however appears to need you returning to your game every two or three hours to even have a chance to get it. I’ll keep playing at my own pace and have accepted that I won’t get it, if they don’t extend the deadline or change something else.
Btw thanks to the people who pointed out the 25 clams you get for the complete set, I’ll take it into consideration once the event comes to a close.

I have been playing every 8 hours (10 at night) and have 33 candys all hats and 14 mustaches. Drop rate for candy has been great 33/36

Is Consuela worth 240 clams? I was not planning on getting her at 300, but that’s a pretty good discount. It would make a big dent in my saving up for Cleveland, but I’m wondering how useful she is in the game (I don’t need her for the hats in this event, I’m almost there & like everyone else doubting there will be enough piñatas).

Personally, Conseula is my favorite premium character. And usually whenever there’s a premium character involved in a item drop it tends to be her. But even so..she just makes me giggle 🙂

Would be extremely surprised if TinyCo does not address the “collecting candy” situation before Wednesday. I honestly cannot remember a single time they had an event that was legitimately impossible to do without spending money. Expecting a fix of some sort today or tomorrow. They certainly dropped the ball on this event

No I started near the end of the comic con event last year so I missed rupert and some other events so personally cannot comment on them. Also I’m assuming that was during the early stages of the game though, you would figure they wouldn’t pull something like that again

I have been trying for the new skin since this event started and here is what I have accumulated so far:
21 / 55 pieces of candy
8 / 20 hats
9 / 16 mustaches
I have sent everyone on their quest to obtain the needed items and the drop rates are so low. The blindfolds don’t help when there is no piñata to use it on. I have several saved up and nothing to use them on.

Help a player out and make these a little easier to drop. I like having all the skins for each character, but it seems this might be the first one that I don’t get.

Unfortunately I think a minor expense of clams will be necessary to get the costume. I’m not happy about it, but I feel like if I can do the buyout at less than 50 clams on the last day I’ll still be able to sleep at night.
There needs to be better planning of these event outcomes by the devs. IMO the main rewards and quest lines should always be 100% completable for free. They can still make their money with event related premium buildings and decos.

Wow i did the math. If i get a 100% drop rate on candies from here til the end, I will get Peter. If not I will have to use a few clams to get him (4 clams for each candy that doesn’t drop). Most likely not going to happen. I figure i will have to spend about 20 clams max to finish him in time. Not cool but better than dropping 130 clams for the piñata building.

IMHO; everyone should NOT do this and thereby reward the nasty way this event was designed.

Remember you get 25 for completing the costume box. Even if you use 20 clams that’s a net gain of 5 clams.

The clams are a reward for completing a set, I refuse to spend clams by justifying a reward that I will get if I spend them. But I am not a person who needs everything in my game, how often do I use falconer peter, almost never. I would like to get SSO peter but if I don’t I will be saving my clams for the star trek event and I will hope that SSO peter will be available again in the future.

My Peter collection says “complete” with only the new costume missing in it. Therefore, I don’t think it’ll pop out 25 clams.

Well didn’t get a candy on that one. So now up to 4 clams.
Ps I did send a suggestion to tinyco suggesting the following drop rates:
10% 0
10% 3
30% 2
50% 1
At least this might give us a few more candies to get the skin Without major code changes. I would love to finish the questline but Ithink we can all agree the skin is most important.

Please please someone important listen!! Please make things easier, if you want money (clams) make it an outright purchase but settings tasks unreachable is unfair. It ruins the fun playing of the game for many players. I used to buy things but money is tight so I can’t….. so I just (at the moment) want to play, but situations like this which is close but not enough time is tempting me to spend money I should not. I understand it’s my choice to pay or not, but I think a little respect for us guys that just want to play would be fairer than leaving us so close to a prize….. Don’t you agree???

I will spend clam if its something i really like or if im impatience and want the costume now but if i put all my effort into getting something like peter costume and it looks like im being force to spend clams to get then hell no will i spend them. Im piss cuz i put work into getting him and with the candies spawn rate i am force to spend clams to finish up so tinyco need to fix that or theres gonna be a lot of unhappy people.

Like everyone else, I too am convinced that there is no way in the world I will be able to get this skin before the time runs out. The spawn rate of the piñata’s is terrible, and it’s such a shame since I have so many blindfolds ready and waiting to be used! 😦

I don’t think it’s doable to get the costume due to the spawn rate of the piñatas. And mind you I have never thought one of their tasks wasn’t do able. I even got Koolaid man and king butt etc. without any fears or complaints towards TC. But this is simply a no go. I have 25 candies so still 30 to go. Also I have 17 blindfolds and nothing to whack. Even if they make the drop rate 100% it would not be double without an increased amount of piñatas. Please TinyCo hear our cries, we waited for Spanish Peter for so long! Help us

Smashed 29 piñatas for the quest, 20 candies, that’s just over a 66% drop rate. 10 blindfolds, no piñatas to smash. I should get the 50 piñatas for the quest but I won’t be getting 55 candies. No issues with hats or mustaches.
The plutonium is dropping fairly well, so that’s something.

The spawn rate on the piñatas just isn’t high enough, and then it’s made all the worse by the not-guaranteed drop. I’ve only got 29 candy so far. I think if there was candy in every single piñata that spawns from now until the end of the event I would just BARELY have enough to get Soap Opera Peter…and then I wouldn’t be able to do the questline. Clam spending should make it easier to do an event, not the only feasible way to have any chance of doing it.

There MUST be something wrong with the spawn rate of pinatas because I have 10 blindfolds right now and no pinatas to whack so there is no reason for me to buy more blindfolds at all. Since I know Tiny Co wants people to buy blindfolds something is clearly wrong.

Ya I won’t be getting the skin at this rate… have 20+ blindfolds stored up and still need 25 candies. Just never any piñatas spawned when I open my game. Tried closing tried waiting still only two piñatas when I woke up this morning.

On 29/55 Candies and 24 blindfolds right now. If they don’t change the pinata spawn rates quick, or maybe trade 2 blindfolds in for 1 candy, I’m not even getting the costume, let alone a chance to do the questline. Feels like a chore now, not a game. I think they’re too busy trying to make the Star Trek event more appealing, since it’s gonna be a cash cow for sure. Quantity over quality, sad. Had some fun times though, without paying a single dime. And I’m glad that’s the way it is. Without the constant mistakes I’d have considered paying. Too bad, creative people are blinded by easy money.

I’m almost exactly where you are. Remember that you can buy the costume outright in Al Harrington’s just before the event ends & at this rate, it could cost less than 25 clams, all of which will be refunded for completing the costume box. Hang in there.

This morning I woke up and had 4 pinatas (all dropped candy). I was up late for work. So these 4 were after about 5 hours of sleep – and there were no pinatas when I went to sleep. So did the spawn rate change? Is it now 2 every 2 hours? I’m at 25 candies – and if it is in fact 2 every 2 hours with a better drop rate – then it might now be possible – I only need 3 mustaches.

Like a lot of people, I don’t think it will be possible to get the costume purely because of the piñata spawn rate (barely enough to get the 50 to continue the story line) and the low-ish drop rate (~60%). However regularly you play, you cannot get more than a certain number of pinatas. The cowboy hats and mustaches dropped very easily. I really dislike events where you work hard collecting items but do not have time to get enough, so you are tempted to spend clams on something you don’t really want but feel you have earned!

Yep. I only have 17 so far. There is no way I will be able to get 38 more by Wednesday, at the current spawn rate. And I have been able to earn every skin offered through Al thus far. Bummed 😦

Unless they make some adjustments soon, I’m not going to get the costume (and definitely will not reward the poor planning by spending clams).
I’m currently at 25 candies with only about 26 more pinatas to spawn – so no way to win if target and spawn rate remain the same.
The 17/20 hats and 10/16 mustaches are quite on track.
I’ve long stopped caring about the dialogs. As I’ve written to them several times, the text is too small to read on a 5″ phone display. Sadly, they didn’t make the text larger on smaller displays.

Sorry not impressed with event at all and been playing constantly, and still well away from collecting enough in just 5 days, 3rd day in aporox 30% collected, at that percentage will be at 60% max. To much stuff, to long tasks and poor drop rates. First skin I will miss out on.

Despite being extremely active in this event, I have serious doubts that I’ll be able to obtain SO Peter (without expending clams), due to low candy drops (other materials are easily obtainable). Let’s hope TinyCo adjust a little the piñatas.

Spawn rate on piñatas is nowhere near fast enough. I have 12 blindfolds and nothing to use them with. And drop rate on candy is poor too – about one in two. There is no way that I will get 55 candy by Wednesday at this rate. Tiny Co needs to improve this instead of making the plutonium drops easier by adding characters to an event that is not timed.

It looks like a fun skin to have, but with the bad drop and spawn rate it wont be one i will be owning. Not only is the candy an issue but the hats spawn maybe 3/5 for me despite being common. Paying 5-20 bucks for a ‘skin’ for a character (dep on when u use clams for it) +questline is not an option I would ever opt. This has been a premium event. I prefer events where you can still do everything but can get “extra” if you pay for it. So basically I didnt think much of this event. They could have done something else and given the option of buying the soap opera skin for clams for people who chose to do so. …..so far…..still 2 days to go.

Something is certainly off. You should be getting at least 5 after a few hours. Try hard closing & leaving your game for a couple of hrs. Go back in and wait a few seconds (collect money from other buildings) and then try to whack pinatas, see if that opens more up.

Had to hard close yesterday and I too frequently only get about 3 overnight. I also noted in Al’s that the candy states I haven’t unlocked the part of the story in which it drops frequently, while rarely it will correctly indicate where c andy drops from.
I’m getting a bit worried as I need 5 more hats and almost 25 candies for SSOPeter. Thankfully the mustaches rattled off quickly and finished this morning.

Same problem here. I woke up this morning and only had 2 pinatas to hit after 9 hours. I decided that this even blows. The only reason I’m sending any of my players on blindfold tasks is so I can use and collect money from the buildings the stupid pinatas are on.
