  1. Why can’t you allow people to purchase characters, costumes and buildings from past events for large sums of cash? I have over 1m coins and have zero things left to buy? I’m sure I ain’t the only one! All land expansions done, items bought! The game needs more high value items to collect for!! Also last two events Spanish soap and valentines have been too short with not enough to complete tasks! new ideas to keep things fresh! Only my opinion! Thanks

  3. Feeling like this event wasn’t as nice as the others….. most have had the count down and message reminder that it’s ending soon. Honestly the last three events have been a little disappointing, hoping the new event is better.

  4. Ahhh, so annoying. I didn’t realise the event was going to end so soon…there was no timer or warning of its nearing conclusion. I eas only a few items short of getting him too.

  5. Just one mustache and one candy away from getting him….

  6. 15 minutes before the event was set to end, I set the Spanish Soap Peter skin to create. It was supposed to take 5 minutes. When I got back on the game hours later, he was gone. Did I have to have to create the skin and tap the check mark to keep it? I feel like I earned it, I just hadn’t tapped the check over Al’s before the event ended.

  7. Since playing the game avidly since mid-October, Telanovela weekend has been the first glaringly disappointing update I’ve played in this game. The updates to the challenges to make them more “manageable” came too late to make enough difference. I hope the Star Trek update and future short term updates are better thought out. If challenges are only to be 5-6 days long, needed items maybe should not be SO rare or time consuming.

  8. It is so lame they pulling quest lines after the event ends now.

You mind telling them we ain’t going to spend clams to speed the quest line up. All it is doing is making folks hate this game.

    Put in thing worth buying.

Just my two cents worth or should I say clams?

  13. I never recieved a notification of the event ending, or recieved enough piñatas to even finish the quest. As a result of no notification, along with poor drop rate of mustaches, this is the first costume I have EVER missed. For the first time ever, I am VERY unhappy with an event.

    • There was a notification and it was listed in the FAQ of your game. They also posted on it on their sites. We posted it here too. End date was set from day it launched. Sorry you missed it.

  15. Aw man, I’ve had all my characters (except the dashing Spanish Soap Opera Peter) wandering around this afternoon, waiting for the Star Trek event to start. It just now finally dawned on me that launches tomorrow, not today. And here I didn’t even know I was that into Star Trek! 🙂

  16. The game did NOT give us anywhere near enough time to complete the tasks necessary to get soap opera Peter. I had 14 pinata bats ready to go but the game didn’t provide the pinatas often enough to use them, such BS. I busted every pinata the game gave me up until the deadline and I still couldn’t complete the bust 50 pinatas task or get Peter. Tinyco really should consider an extension.

  17. Feh, BARELY made it for SSOP, because of the piñata locked characters. No clams spent, so I don’t have any real reason to complain. BUT, I hope that the Tiny Commanding Officer learns from his mistakes – I can forgive this once, but not again. Unfortunately, they typically have roll out problems and errors in freemium timing. I hereby formerly suggest that they let the Addicts crew alpha test the **** events, and I hereby offer my services for arithmetic. Lessons or checking, up to them.

  18. Got the Peter skin….but missed on the quest line and only got 47 / 50 piñatas. Now, time to bring on the “Star Trek” event!!!

    • Meh. That was end of it. Nothing woohoo at the end. Just a lil coin & XP.

      Like

    • Exactly how mine ended. We should be allowed to finish the story line if we get the character/skin before the deadline. It’s ridiculous to leave us hanging in the middle of a story. Then again, most stories never seem to end properly. They just seem to end and the dialogue never really feels like they’re saying “We’re done here, move along.”

  20. That was frustrating. I was not following this blog, and had no idea Spanish Telenova was ending today. I had plenty of blindfolds, but did not get enough piñata’s. I was short by one candy 😦

  24. Only needed 1 more moustache but sending everyone on the tasks to get them would have completed after the event ended, fortunately I managed to get 5 clams from Ollie land over the last five days so spent them and got the 25 clams payout for completing the set. Well happy and the Star Trek event hopefully starts in just over 24 hours time here in the UK. Really can’t wait for that 😀

  25. At 2:48 I got my pinata which fortunately gave me my last candy to open the skin on my freemium game, but I never got to the 50 for the questline. I did break my own rules and use some clams for a couple of the mariachis, just because I love mariachis!

  29. looks like it’s running slightly beyond 3pm PST which is fine. gave me time to finish earning hats to get peter’s new costume. Had to use a couple of clams to speed up bonnie & lois, but I ended up getting 25 clams for finishing a costume set so totally worth it!!

  30. Only had to spend 10 clams due to two mustaches not dropping in time, but made it back after completing Peter’s collection. Sent some characters on 8-hr tasks earlier, so no one will be on a task after midnight in case of long overnight tasks

And got my last pinata a minute after 6PM EST to earn 50 coins and 30xp – part-ay! LOL

  35. I’m thoroughly unimpressed with this event, not only in the extremely poor planning and execution, but also in the decision to run it on St. Patrick’s Day.

I know they lowered the candy requirement in the end, but there’s really no excuse for how far off the requirements were from what was actually achievable, especially since those candy drops would have taken TWICE as long if the stick timer had worked as intended. It’s just baffling to me how they thought that was going to work.

    Liked by 2 people

    • As it did not work properly once live…. we really can’t say exactly how it would have played out. 😉

      Like

      • According to what I saw in the game and read from the initial post which outlined the challenge on this site, the purpose of the timer was to give people an extra whack at a piñata every four hours as it powered up. The spawn rate of the piñatas was unchanged (one every two hours). The timer had nothing to do with the spawn rate. If anything, we would have been even MORE backed up with blindfolds and nothing to use them on since every four hours you would have powered up to a whack and wouldn’t have had to use a collected blindfold. They traded out an “uncommon” drop from Seamus every four hours in exchange for the “broken” four-hour timer. You called it — the challenge was just like Latcher Stewie where the timer gave us an additional opportunity to knock off the latcher in addition to collecting batteries. But in that ComicCon event, the Latcher Stewies were plentiful and we were scrambling to collect batteries and grateful when that power up was banked. The spawn rate in this event was seriously flawed timer or no timer. While the event would not have taken twice as long, it wouldn’t have run any quicker and we all would have even more blindfolds collecting dust. I like the concept of the latchers and collecting items to defeat it, but the math on this one was flawed from the outset. It was great to have an additional chance at the items we were collecting for characters/skins in ComicCon as opposed to the sole goal of the event as this one was. This can’t be denied — the math on this was seriously flawed (60+ piñatas over five days while needing 55 candies with something less than an “always” drop) but eventually they got it right so at least people could reach the goal. I would like to see them bring the concept back in the future — but with the bugs of the timer worked out and proper math.

        Liked by 1 person

        • I get what you are saying. I just see things from a lil different point of view. There was an issue with the latchers too. So my opinion on this is that the idea they had for the ENTIRE run of the event would have given players a chance… time and effort put in… but a chance to get him free. But… the timer didn’t function, then Latchers stopped… and a trickle down impact began. Had the timer worked, the latchers spawned correctly, they only would have to do what they usually do… up the drops/latchers in the last few days. It seems to be their “thing” to start doubling up at the end. Always works out that way.

Since the items didn’t flow right, domino effect, the only option really left at the end to correct it and NOT use the items not working… change the requirements. I was able to get 45 Candies and prob would have got closer to 55 by the end, glitch aside. So I do see that this one could have worked out as originally planned.

Those are my thoughts on it. 😉

          • Respectfully Bunny, I am going to disagree, knowing full well that you have information that I will never have. If the plan was to increase spawn rates as the event neared the end, then why didn’t they? Was the whole thing so broken that they couldn’t do anything with that they intended? Had they changed the spawn rate to one per hour or one per 90 minutes, I think a lot of people would have made it based on the 750+ responses in the other post and made it a lot of fun. I stopped collecting blindfolds Monday when I had 30 banked and only 48 hours remained to the event and I could only use 24 max. I knew I could resume collecting if something changed but I was at 30 or so candies so I would have been covered. TinyCo kinda got caught with its pants down on this one (1) the event didn’t go out Thursday (maybe it wasn’t intended to, but that would have given the event extra hours and more spawns and given more validity to the math), (2) the latchers didn’t work properly (not something I saw in my game but I was late to the party because of when it was released so it may have been fixed when I started), (3) the stick timer never worked properly and (4) the math was seriously flawed once they did release it. My pitchfork stayed in the barn because it was just a skin for a character who has the most, but it was a little annoying to see the obvious flaws in the whole thing. It’s too bad — it would have been a fun grind over the weekend to prep for the upcoming event as opposed to know you were working toward something that was never going to happen the way it was presented. That being said — bring on the Star Trek event!!

            • Lol. A lot of things are easier to just say and assume then to put into actual action when it comes to the games. Without being there, at the scene, creating the game… it is hard for anyone to understand just why they do things.

Regardless, they did what I have come to respect them for doing… seeing something for what it is and still finding a way to give their players a chance. They are not the only game out there set up the EXACT way. Slow at first… increasing round middle to end. It is very common in the game world. However to date they are the ONLY game house that steps in when needed and makes it right.

I am gonna just chock this one up as a glitch nightmare, but still a success due to how they handled it even though it was such a short time they had to do it in.

              BRING ON THE TRIBBLES!!!

Planning on having ALL my characters just out walking around doing nothing until tonight. And for now, my town gets to have a relaxing few hours before all heck breaks loose Lol!…excited to see the start of tomorrow’s new event!!!👍🌟✨✌

  38. Ha! Just got out of work. Collected everything from my characters, still not having two of the mustaches. No worries only cost 10 clams for those and is an instant costume change if you have to use clams. If I speed up activities, it would have cost much more! Now I have 424 clams. Really wish I didn’t waste so many during the Christmas event. Still didn’t get Jesus!
