Quahog Star Trek Walkthroughs: Phase 2

Hello There Clammers!

Star Trek has arrived in Quahog!  And with this second phase you’ll unlock Deanna, Klingon Chris & travel to strange new planets!  (well at least send characters to travel)

During Phase 2 several questlines will popup in order to help you understand the event ahead, and prepare our Tiny Quahogs for travel to the Enterprise!  Working your way through these questlines will help you earn more Dilithium Crystals and XP to help you better move through the event, and buy Enterprise items!

  1. Does anyone else have a half naked Herbert toddling around? Sans blue robe? Some sort of white loin cloth? I’m guessing maybe it’s a Star Trek reference I can’t place. Either that or I have a slightly disturbing glitch.

  2. well, I am no where close to star fleet level 4 yet, nor anywhere close to getting troy. on the bright side-close to getting klingon chris.

Thats a screencap, and it just started happening. . Glitch related to phase 2 rollout?

  4. They may have adjusted the chocolate bar liklihood. I have only Chris and jeordi at wai iota and the chocolate is now showing likely at 4.2/6 instead of at 1.5. That would almost be a certain now if this is the case.

  7. In regards to the 14 hours for 2x away missions you only need to do the 3 hour mission then send Peter on the 2nd one to finish. You don’t have to wait for the 2nd away mission to finish to complete the quest. Really not as hard as it sounds. Took a few minutes over 3 hrs to complete and get the 5 clams. Also would like to say that I am a freemium player and with the room swap trick I just completed Klingon Chris and only need 2 headbands and the 12 chocolates to unlock Troy. Lots of frustrated players out there but with a bit of planning and help from these great girls on this site I feel this event is completely doable. Heck I even think I am on track for phase 3. Thx Addicts! Love this site and appreciate all your work. Not to mention the great upbeat attitudes. Live long and prosper. 😉

  8. Don’t know if anyone else has noticed but they have changed the outcome of getting chocolate bars. Now when I send clingon Chris and laforde the bar fills right up to likely now.

I got Klingon Chris yesterday and now I got Troi tonight.

  10. I did my first away (transport) mission to the planet oh nohs, and with reading these posts, I sent feringi mort and riker and got the billboard right away, once again proving that the addicts page is definitely what you need to progress in this game. Thanks to alissa, bunny, and the wookie. Now hopefully the chocolate bars will be just as easy, but I will keep checking in for the right combo to send to the next planet, and what purpose do we need to spend 25 clams on the third planet for……….hmmmmmmm.

    Like

  11. I thought I was the only one hating life right now. Transporter missions put the brakes on my progress, now all I need are some of them chocolates and a billboard…

Now I will say that the infamous room trick has proven invaluable in this circumstance. I have it clocked and in constant rotation – especially for the green ore (the rare drop rate was horrid by comparison), and it also helped with the books and headbands. Never would have occurred to me if not for reading others’ comments – so keep ’em coming.
But I must say that it does not bode well that the only way it seems to keep up is by hustling. Players who may not have sorted this method out yet might find themselves struggling to catch up. I certainly hope that TC is paying attention to this – transporter energy should be easier to acquire if we absolutely need it to progress (still tightening them bolts, eh?).

Just started sending away teams today, and got jack squat after three 3-hour missions. Of course, now I see here that there may be some specific combos that my increase my chances of earning the specific items needed. So I am gonna hack away at those for a bit and see what they bring…

I hope not to waste a lot of time with the Chris combo – I still need to knock out his 24 hour mission before the warp upgrade. Tick tick tick…

Otherwise, I am digging the event and still anticipate the next phases – and the goodies that will come along with them. I have 2 of the Klingon Temples for my planned Trek area (they will make excellent cornerstones), and I hope to see some Borg stuff in the next week. So many possibilities…

  12. Not ;going to waste any more time on the chocolate drops.
    I sent 4 times.
First 2 had Everyone, first one dropped chocolates
2nd one had everyone – no chocolates
3rd I left Peter out, got Chocolates
4th – I left Peter out again, no chocolates

I decided that the 48 clams was worth it at this point rather than trying to waste more resources and time that I need for questing to try it again.

This event is more frustrating than enjoyable. I don’t like the planet trips, the amount of items needed to unlock characters and the time it takes to complete the actions are horrible. I think I’ll sit out the rest of this event.

im having same issues as most. been very unlucky at getting transporter crystals. I have 2 rec rooms with both characters trying for it. So far only been able to send 1 mission out to Wai Iota and i didnt get any chocolate. Super frustrating as thats the only item i need to get Deanna.

  21. I keep seeing comments about this “room trick” – what is it again?

    Like

  22. I unlocked Chris’ outfit over the weekend and just need 8 chocolate for Troi so I don’t need the rooms for those specific drops and have started trying the room swapping technique. So far it’s not building up very fast and I feel like I’m sacrificing earning life support energy and synthesizer ore in the process. As with past events I’m assuming the numbers will all work out in time if I keep at it. However, with the acquisition rate of transporter energy being what it is, there is a bit of frustration when there is a requirement to use it for anything other than the transporter… such as creating the Klingon Temple.

  23. Starting to get concerned. Still no chocolate and Geordi has 32 hours of quests and Peter has 12 in order to complete Frame Of Mind and advance to next level in 72 hours. From what I’ve read Geordi has the best chance to procure chocolate. Do I take him off away missions? How can TinyCo not see this?

    Like

    • Just finished another away mission and came up empty once again for chocolate. Since Troi is not required to advance come Thursday Geordi is now on his 24 hour quest and replaced on the transporter pad with Peter. Fingers crossed.

  25. Judging by these walkthroughs, unlocking Deanna Troi is not a prereqisite to moving on to the next phase. (Sigh of relief.)

So I started using the rotating room tactic yesterday and amassed a healthy supply of transporter energy rather quickly so I decided not to quit. I’ve been comparing the level of frustration from this event to getting Blobulous during Comic Con and reminding myself Tinyco came through with a workable solution to that predicament when the next week was released. Trying to stay optimistic and push through the rest of the event at least.

As an aside, anyone else think the timing on this new 14-hour timed task that requires trips to both Oh Nos and Wai Iota to earn a meager 5 clams is going to be like throwing a few gallons of gasoline on an already raging bonfire?

    Like

  26. I don’t get how you people are getting the energy for transporter trips – I have yet to even try for chocolate because I don’t have enough energy! I got I believe 3 in the last 24 hrs, and I have 5 attempts every 6 hrs. it’s driving me insane.

    Liked by 1 person

    • I think I can beat that. I went for the trips to stuff to make Mort a Ferngi so he could also try get more transporter energy. I have Peter, Worf, Mort and 2 Super Rad Cargo Bays working on transporter energy and even using Clams to push times a lot before I wen to bed, I have gotten a total of 10 transporter energies. That’s barely enough for 1 trip and that MAY gain you 4 of the 12 chocolates. It might not! It shows 4 chocolate as “unlikely”, the same as synthesizer ore. I am very unhappy with them only having one task to get an item needed for Troi.

And just do the math for you, if you wanted to unlock her by buying the chocolate, that would be 192 clams. They might as well have made her a pay only character.

  27. 4 trips to the second planet with recommended people and then some other combos and no chocolate! driving me insane! not only a waste of 24 transporter energy but a waste of 32 hours! and yet my bf gets two lots of chocolate in 2 goes! its doing my head in! what a waste!

    Like

    • I was wrong, you have me completely beat and the person above. What Fleet level are you at? Mine says three (bars 80% full) and I’m not sure how anyone could have gotten 24 transporter energy. I have barely gotten 10 after rushing tasks to send three people to the planet for some chocolate. Reading your comment makes me even more depressed if you’re already 2.4 times ahead of me and still don’t have any chocolate.

  28. Hopefully I’ll have luck with the recommended away team for chocolate. Managed to unlock Klingon Chris today, so by tomorrow morning I’ll have been able to run Wai Iotta twice. I do wish we could send two teams at once though; I mean, I’ve got the transporter fuel, there isn’t any overlap in who I want to send, but whatever. If I don’t get all the chocolates I need quickly, I’ll fit in the 3 hour missions in any downtime I can find.

I feel by Thursday, I’m definitely NOT gonna have them at least her unlocked and might not even be up to Level4, even though I’m at Level3 somewhat in the middle of the bar. Feels like I’m not progressing at all farther into this event tho for some odd reason… I totally feel like I’m stuck.

I’m soooo hoping and like I’ve said many of times already, I’m pretty confident TinyCo., is working on these horrible Transporter drop rates as we speak… 😀✨💫

  35. FYI peter just triggered a timed task in my game – 14hrs to complete 2 missions (3hr one with riker Mort geordi, 8hr one with peter). reward of 5 clams for completing.

So early warning do not click on peter unless you have time and energy for 2 missions!

Ugh I had just finished a riker Mort geordi mission and got the billboard already, so had redo same mission again for the timed task.

  38. Will say yet again, great work, Bunny and Alissa!!

Was wondering if anyone has seen the new 14 hour long quest to get 5 clams yet ? I have EVERYBODY needed for it busy doing other quest lines – what a bummer! My question is, do we just need to send the characters on the missions or also allow for the missions to complete? One of them is 8 hours – just not doable if you have to wait the current actions to finish :/

  39. I don’t think I’ll ever unlock Troi. 3 days and only 3 transporter energy. And I take breaks! I send them to complete the 2hr tasks and then come back but still nothing. How do they ever want us to use the transporters?

    Like

  40. Did anyone else just get a timed “Away We Go” questline that rewards 5 clams?

The problem is the stupid thing triggered while I have BOTH Mort and Peter doing length quests. They will be finished in under 6 hours, but the timed quest is for only 14 hours. Which basically means that I have only 30 minutes of leeway AND that I have to wake up before 4:30AM to complete the quests just under wire.

I’m sorry, but who came up with the idea of a 14 hour timed quest that ends in the wee hours of the morning?

    Like

    • Wait, it’s even worse than I first thought.

I didn’t realize that the Wai Iota Away Mission requires 8 hours. Which basically means that this quest requires 11 hours of time to complete, but you’re only given 14 hours. And since both Peter and Mort are occupied for 6 hours, I was given an impossible task, unless I spent 10 clams to Rush Peter’s task. But why would I spend 10 clams to try and earn 5? Not to mention having to wake up sometime between 3 and 5 AM just to complete the quest.

      Like

      • You complete the quest when you send them, so, if you send the first group on the 3 hour task, then when they finish you send the right ones on the 8 hour task and boom, 5 clams in 3 hours
i did it the other way though, i sent them on the 8 hour, when it finished i sent the ones on the 3 hour and got the clams right when i sent them.

        Like

    • At least it’s only for 5 clams and not some speciaty item you can’t get later. I’m at the same quest. I need to somehow get 8 more fuel and do the 3 and 6 hour quests in 14 hrs. Ridiculous.

  41. I noticed that the chances of getting drops on the planet missions changes depending on how many characters you have go on the trip. At least according to the graphic below each drop. It changes from unlikey to OK to likely. So I waited until I could free up all 4 of my chars to go on the planet trip for the sign (mission requirement). So far I’ve went 4 times and still haven’t gotten the sign or any books to drop. I could understand if I only had one character per trip getting a drop rate this bad but I had 4 characters all 4 times and no books and no signs have dropped. Know i’m out of transporter energy so it will take another day or so to gather more. Not happy.

  42. So, I think this event is the end of my Family Guy playing. The requirements to get the items to unlock are just difficult, unless you are spending clams. I’ve never had a problem spending a few dollars on clams to speed things up, but I’m getting tripped up on every stage (And we’re only on stage 2!).

I did purchase the $9.99 pack of clams, and didn’t receive the bonus Crystals. I submitted an in-game ticket, and so far, haven’t gotten any response.

The general tone and grind of this event is frustrating, and turning me off. Transporter fuel is hard to come by, which is also required to unlock Troi. I’m still trying to gather enough resources to unlock Klingon Chris too.

It’s just too much, and with the other two sectors ahead of us, it’s not going to get any better.

Freemium games shouldn’t bar the door for people not willing to spend all of their money on unlocks.

    Like

    • I’m in the same boat as well with still waiting for them to respond to my ticket. Now I know they have alot of other tickets to go thru so my advice to you wait about 2 or 3 more days if they don’t respond, send in another.
Pretty sure they’ll get back to you tho. 🙂

    • Darn that’s some bad luck. I haven’t spent any clams on this and all I need are 8 more chocolate bars, and to do all thee quest lines. In fact, between the last mini event, this one, Jesus, and the tribbles I’m up 110 clams. Havent rushed anything. I may or may not get Trois by Thursday but i don’t think spending clams is a necessity for everyon.

  44. Brace yourselves, for I have got great news…… on the 8th attempt peter droped some energy for the first time after over 48 hours. Yea 🙂 still none from mort yet he is at attempt #9. Now is it gonna take that long for the next drop? I finally get the room changing thing, my question on that is why? Why keep changing rooms constantly when the ones you put in from the begining should be dropping anyway. Can someone say flaw, or was it designed that way. My only worry is the chocolate bars. I have everything but that. I guess I’ll keep playing musical enterprise rooms till I get enough energy to try a first transport, right now I’m at 1 so this could take awhile. Love the game and ranting about to let off some steam. As always good job addicts crew for keeping us in the loop.

    • Support informed me that there was a change to the drops, They didn’t change the rates, but they put a cap on the number of times it can fail and once you hit that number you will get a drop.

      Like

    • The reason people swap the rooms is because “constructing” the room gives you a guaranteed drop. Every time a room is finished, an item WILL drop. Compared to waiting for the room counter to drop to 0, yet it still doesn’t guarantee you a drop. Would you rather construct the Transporter Energy room every 2 hours, with 2 rooms being done at the same time, and be assured that you would get 2 TEs, or would you rather wait for the room to count down from 6 hours and not even get anything? If done on time, you can get 6 TEs with the construction/swap method, compared to the possibility of 0-2 TEs with the waiting. I believe TC designed it that constructing the room for the first time would give a guaranteed drop. They just didn’t foresee that it could be abused this way. But considering the lousy drops for the TEs and the Chocolate Bars, I don’t feel a least bit sorry for them.

They’re reminding me of the first time I gleefully bit into a bar of cooking chocolate (despite my mother’s warning) and tasted the most godawful bitter cocoa-ish thing. 2 trips with combos you recommended, 1 with Chris added too (it moved to “ok” the lying bar!!!) …. Nothing.

Got the billboard on first try yesterday not realising it was needed for the quest line til today.

This is the second event in a row that’s tipping from fun to frustrating.
