  1. I like the game but two things that bug me about this game that may result in me not playing.
Drop rates on certain items are terrible e.g. transporter energy. I don’t mind it’s a bit random but sometimes it’s ridiculous.
Things are so expensive to buy compared to other games like this e.g. Tapped out. Don’t seem to get value for money. Especially event items which are not much use after the event.

  2. WTD!!! If your going to make the coins in the game mean pretty much nothing, then give us a chance to buy or have a freakin heart and give us a “collect all” button. With the frustrations we receive from Tinyco’s delays, glitches, poor drop rates, and unuseable characters don’t add too them by making me have to tap on my screen 1000 times a day for nothing!

  3. For everyone complaining about not get Transporter Energy (blue orbs), you need to learn to switch rooms after you have collected those rooms. Make 2-3 of each of the Rec Room and Cargo Bay and swap them around. After the two hour build time, click on the check and you should get a blue or yellow energy or whatever the room was for.

This has been posted about several times already. I tried it and have gotten more books and Transporter Energy in the past 36 hours than I have since the start of the ST event. Just try it. If it doesn’t work, then at least you tried and you’re free to complain about it.

  4. I’ve completed the Brewery quest line but it won’t let me put it away, do I havve to build the hops fountain?! The whole brewery sucked, it was not fun.
Now Herbert has things I need for the ST event yet he still drops beer bottles!!

    • There are “Limits” to each item in Brewery you can see by tapping on the Italic i next to them. So items will keep dropping to make them til the limits are gone. The Brewery can’t be stored.

  5. WTD!
I honestly think we deserve an explanation and if they messed up something, just say it.
The timer on Worf was never clear; suddenly it was not a timer to buy him, it was on his “tasks”?? Yeah.. right… There is no need to add a timer if he is going to be there on the store anyway. And what tasks?? I bought him and there was not such thing. He es completely useless; any one thinking about it, keep your cash, he takes way too long to get Transporter energy and is not an “always” drop… he drops dictionaries, yeap.. and that’s all for him after Chris’ costume is unlocked.
Then, the challenge to get 4 Klingon things was also a lie… what was the prize?? any one got something for that??? The only way to get 4 klingon things is with Transporter energy which we all know is a pain to get… in tremendous amounts needed, no sense at all…
    What happened????
I’m sorry but I’m really mad about this issue

  6. Don’t think I’ve seen a post on the specifics..so I’ll ask. Could someone explain exactly how to maximize switching rooms? I like to think I am a pretty smart guy, but I’m not getting this.
Rt now, I have 2 rec rooms built and out. also 2 crew quarters, space crapper, and 2 cargo bays.
The only things I have in storage are 2 super rads which take 10 hr. So to start I would have to wait 10hr just to turn around switch again and wait another 2 hrs for the rec room to rebuild. You can’t swap a room for the same room, I tried… What I am missing people?

Tiny Co…I hope you are reading this wtd. It seems like an important one for you to notice. Lots of anger generating….Not from me yet, but there is alot of flawed stuff goin on.

    Like

    • There is a reason there is not. 😉

It is all over in the comments here, in the transporter post, and the room post.

      Like

    • So replace the rec rooms with the super rad cargo bays (yes it will take 10hrs, but the rec rooms are in Storage, which is the 1st step)

Then straight away u can click on any rooms that ARE complete (cargo bays, crew quarters) and replace them for the stored rec rooms then in 2hrs u get 2 guaranteed drops

Then while ur at it replace any available rooms with the crews quarters as they only take 2 hrs to build like the rec rooms

then u get into a routine but always store and replace the rec rooms 1st, make them.the priority, as they drop the transporter energy every1s struggling with

My Totals so far::: for Klingon Chris- 10/25 Dictionaries, 8/10 Prosthetic Foreheads.
    For Deanna Troi- 🌟0 chocolates!!!🌟, 9/35 headbands.
I feel like I’m doing something wrong, but I’m not sure at all!
My Energy Totals::: 32 Life Support, 9 Synthesizer Ore, 3 Transporter…
I have alotta faith in TinyCo., making some pretty big changes to these AWFUL drop rates hopefully when they all get back into the office tomorrow morning. Something has GOT to give soon I’m hoping!… WTD!?!?!??!?!
I’m so mad and irritated about the energy NOT dropping at all!!!! I thought they made the drop rates to where if nothing at all drops the 3rd time, then it WILL indeed drop on the 4TH time or something like that… 😣😤✨💫

  9. WTD? Managed to get Klingon Chris. Working on Deanna. Need 3 head bands and all 12 chocolate bars. On my second transporter trip to try and get some. Have 4 characters tied up for 8 hours. And need some of them to do the tasks. Very frustrating. Fix this Tiny Co. Already sent a complaint. Hoping not to get an automated response that has nothing to do with what I asked or said.

Also why have Deanna for a transporter trip that earns items that needed to unlock her. It’s a Catch-22. Grrrrr.

    • Some people suggested sending just Geordie & Klingon Chris for Troi’s books. It doesn’t entirely make sense as the meter implies an unlikely drop. Anyway, I tried just the two of them overnight & received 4 books this morning. I don’t think it improves your chances by sending the maximum number of characters on an away trip, which seems illogical & makes the meters pointless.

Is anyone else having issues with the rooms in the Enterprise. I have Ten Forward open and a room under construction by the entrance, its completed but every time I click on the tick the game crashes.

Receive a message in some cases ‘bad_function_call’

Also crashes when I try to purchase the Rec Room or Red Shirts premium room.

What is the game coming too, can’t progress can’t build and constantly crashes out.

  12. Making “picking up” crystals/loot a priority over clicking on a Tribble/etc. I am sure it must have been a complaint for ages, but this is a serious pain with the Tribbles in this event.

This is how I and others accidentally spend clams (I am guessing) on Rooms… you are madly tapping away trying to clear crystals in order to actually click on a Tribble before they disappear, so fast that Room choice can appear plus the “You want to spend Clams?” popup and be gone before you even knew they popped up.

  16. So, to get Deanna, you have to send an away team to Planet Wai Iota at least 12 times (if not more) which costs 6 transporter blue thingies each (I won’t have difficulty with the other tasks to get her). Meaning you need at least 72 of those blue thingies to complete her quest. I have 3 options to get blue transporter thingies: the rec room, Peter, and whatever Mort is supposed to be. All 3 of these options are rare prizes and 2 of them are achieved from characters often busy on other tasks. I’m lucky to get one blue transporter a day, if that so far. I could buy Warf or that other thing that will cost me clams, but I’d rather pay for groceries and rent. So basically, I’m never going to get Deanna. That’s fine, but I am not sure I should bother going forward with other Star Trek characters if its going to be this difficult. It’s just a game though. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Drop rates on required items are crazy (transporter energy I’m looking at you) and on the 4 away missions I’ve sent 4 characters on each time, haven’t got a single book or the billboard. Difference between freemium and premium should be purchase of optional characters buildings decos etc not making drop rates so low you feel almost forced into buying or speeding up tasks to try to progress very disappointed

  20. The 6 transporter energy to just have a chance to get chocolate bars is insidious!

Why can’t Worf also get choclate bars, as well as hats? Surely a premium character purchase like Worf should help get chocolate bars? We’ll never get Diana Troy at this rate, unless they change things around a little.

  21. WTD? You can send an away team and get nothing? It has taken me 2 days to get the two Transporter energy (which includes Worf ) to go try for the 5 Klingon dictionaries. I sent everyone available (Mort, Riker, Geordi, and Worf) and when they returned I got the default 15 dilithium 3 Sxp. No books, no billboard, not extra dilithium, or synth ore.

  23. Blue energy isn’t dropping very often but is required to help unlock characters. I wish micro transactions were more micro. $10 for a single character with limited-to-none usage post event is more of a MACRO transaction. If characters were 25-50ish clams, I would totally pick up a few if them. But if they keep pricing them that high, there must people must be buying them.

I asked tinyco but they haven’t answered. I remember seeing a quest to make 2 chumbas, I think maybe that is where things went sour? Wtd ok now im getting really annoyed the only way to earn chocolate is to send crew members on a mission since the beginning if the game only received 8 blue orbs n 2 where from opening the district.secondly its cost 6 orbs to possibly get chocolate sent peter n riker on a mission they returned with none. Thirdly the more characters u send on the mission the better ur chances of getting the chocolate but hey guess what one of the characters is locked u need the chocolate to unlock her,the other is a premium that i have to spend 260 clams on or i need chris’s costume which require 25 books in which i only received 7 since the beginning of the game seeing as i can only get them from the crew quaters. Inless i wanna once again use the transporter to maybe get books in which once again blue orb rate very low.

And WTD, as soon as the second part started tribbles spawned and I clicked one. My game weirdly glitched over to another part of the ship and bought the red shirt doom room too. Why do we keep buying premium characters?
They usually only help a very little bit and are rarely used after the event.
They generally cost between 5-7 American dollars.
And even though Worf was given the chance to make the
Transporter Energy the task should be half the time as others and
    with a 100% drop rate.
    He’s PREMIUM!!!
The people who support the game deserve to have perks!
I’ve bought several premium characters and none are being used.
Heck in this event there are several characters that would make some sense to use.
Predator, Alien, and Roger to name a few. (I think Roger was Premium)

TinyCo if you read this Please… show some love to the ones that keep your game going.
Because I know I’m done spending money on a game that is constantly frustrating and confusing the heck out of me.

One more thing… Bunny I hope you all are on TinyCo’s payroll. Because if it wasn’t for your site I personally would have quit playing this game after the King Butt event.

    OK… I feel a little better now.

    • I totally agree with this. I have purchased every single premium character and costume to date and absolutely none are being used in this event. Usually we get a little perk for sending premium characters on 24-hour tasks but nothing this time. Characters like Patrick Stewart and George Takei don’t even have a role. And Worf is a real let down. I remember when Bryan Cranston — the first premium event character was released — and his usefulness was phenomenal during the event. Worf, with his non-guaranteed item drops, is just as ineffective as other characters at scoring these transporter energies.

I had hoped by investing in premium characters it would help reduce the frustration of events in the future. Was I ever wrong. All they are now are nuisances that I have to spend 30 minutes a day sending off on 24-hour tasks so they can collect a combined $5,000 to add to my nearly $6 million in unusable coins. It really seems there is no long-term benefit to spending money on this game.

I’m seriously trying to decide if today might be my last day. I bought an iTunes card but if I don’t spend it by 10 o’clock tonight, I think I’m going to delete the game.

  34. My only WTD is when I send people off to do tasks, close my game, come back two hours later only to find that the last 5-6 things that I did before closing the game didn’t save and now I have characters wandering around doing nothing or land not being cleared like I had asked or a building not being built. This has been an issue on my Kindle Fire HD7 (2012) since I started playing just before Halloween. Seems like I need to hang around for an extra five minutes before closing just to make sure it saved. When I play the game on my Blackberry Z10, the save rate is instantaneous. I would play all the time on my Z10, except the screen is much smaller and not all things work correctly on it, like the Transporter Room will give an error message about a missing file or the game will just lockup. Everything else seems to work perfectly.

  39. Bunny and Alissa — You profess that you are in contact with TinyCo and that they monitor this blog for player information. I know it is the weekend, but has there been any information exchange on the away trips task and the required transponder energy and how difficult this has been? A premium player would only have Worf added and even he can’t be making a “significant” difference as his six-hour “always” task could only be an additional three per day. Do they really expect us to be rushing tasks with clams for a “chance” at a successful drop? I’m curious what their expectation is based on how the challenge is designed. I think it is a great exciting twist to the game, but that it is flawed in its design. Just requires too many transponder energies and the acquisition of those is quite laborious. I am in my game every 1-2 hours except for sleep and have collected eight since the phase started (60 hours ago) with four methods. I am guessing it will take four trips for dictionaries to finish that off (12) and then five trips for chocolate (30) so I am looking at around 300 hours at this rate to finish. That’s 12 days — right about the time Phase Four will be ready to start. That can’t be how they wanted it to play out considering they will have a whole new batch of fun for us in four days. Monster challenges for districts are fine since they don’t go away. But a challenge of this nature in an event seems a little ill-conceived, especially for Phase Two and not the grand prize at the end. I’m sorry but the “trust factor” with TinyCo is weak based on past experiences. That can’t be disputed.

We also have a few things we are doing on our end.

  40. Like most people I am having problems with the drop rates and costs to unlock things. It took a long time, but I got the energy I needed for Ferengi Mort and unlocking Ten Forward, but it was when getting in there that things got crazy.

I did get enough blue energy balls to send a handful of away missions, but it did make me say “what the deuce.”

The 2 energy and 3 hours for a trip to Oh’Nos isn’t bad, but sending the 3 characters I have barely increased the likelihood of getting Klingon Dictionaries (I haven’t had it drop any yet after two or three tries). And what is really weird is that the only other possible characters to send are a premium Whorf (who I want to buy but don’t have the clams) and Klingon Chris. But the whole reason to send them on this trip is to get dictionaries to unlock Chris, so why is he the other choice?

Then the trip to Wai Iota, the cost is just ridiculous, 6 energy and 8 hours. And I only have 2 characters that can go on that trip. The other options are Whorf, who I can’t afford, Klingon Chris, who I don’t have dictionaries for, and Troi. And like the other one, the thing I want on this trip is chocolate bars so that I can unlock Troi, so why is she an option? And of course with just two people my drop rates are pitiful, so you can imagine I wasted all that time and energy with nothing to show for it.

I think the best thing they could do would be to change the transporter so that any of your Star Trek characters can go on any away mission, or at the very least make the character unlocking items an automatic drop rather than such a low rate.

  41. Well, it seems like TinyCo finally succeeds in driving me away from this game. I have purchased several premium characters and some premium buildings and none of them provides any help in collecting transporter energy. I was only able to send away three teams so far and they brought back: nothing. This is making playing pretty much pointless and extremely unenjoyable, when you return to your game and you get nothing in return for al the time you’ve already spent to be able to send the team away. The game is beoming more annoying than fun. Pretty interesting development strategy for an entertainment title…

  42. I’m a freemium player, but, I purchased <£3 of clams to get Worf as I'm a bit of a trekkie. However, why are the drop rates as limited as they are, and what's with the excessive amount of items needed to unlock characters? If they continue at this rate we won't get past Picard, unless we spend hundreds of £/$/etc on clams.

Also, too many task lines at once, requiring the same items, items that rarely drop. I really like this game, and, I know it takes time and money to create, but does it really not make much money with the amount of downloads it's had? Surely there are lots of premium players out there, or even thousands, like me, spending a little now and then.

I understand it is just a game at the end of the day, but for a lot of us it's a way to de-stress, not increase stress. Not feeling like we can achieve something as meaningless (in a real life application) as a digital character on a screen, in a game, that we play to relax and feel like we are getting somewhere with something because we're struggling to in the real world, can compound those feeling of incompotence and lack of success. Yes we shouldn't invest so much emotional stock in a game, but that game represents our freedom of choice when it comes to doing what we want to do, not what we have to.

Anyway, love the game, just wish it wasn't so active in pushing premium play.

    Like

    • I agree with you 100% and did a similar post about starting to play as a way to relax and hear funny sayings and mindlessly tap stuff. I also like to design my town. I have spent real money on things I really liked, but I hate feeling pressured into spending money to speed things up in my digital world because I can’t finish something that needs to be done to move forward. I decided to just put the brakes on, go back to my regular sleep patterns, stop stressing, or even caring, about getting everything, and just play for fun, not to “win.”

      Like

      • Yeah I’m trying “not to win” but as a trekkie it would be nice to succeed and complete this event. There are soooo many comments criticising the drop rates I’m hoping TinyCo look at changing it for the better for users.

The thing is you shouldn’t have to go back to your regular sleep patterns to enjoy the game. You should be able to enjoy the game within those regular patterns and not feel defeated because of them, like most commenters here currently feel.

  43. WTD. Since the Valentine’s event (Which I was profoundly disappointed in, and just barely managed to get the characters and skins I wanted) the game has been crashing an ungodly amount of times. Since the upgrade to district two in the space ship it has become borderline unplayable. I’m falling behind in the event hard, not because I don’t check ever, but because the game crashes every time I do, and often those crashes undo the last 5 or 6 things I did in game (send a character on a task, build a new room in the ship, etc). I’ve spent a bunch of money on the game in the past but have refused to buy clams in a very long time because that validates this level of instability in the game. I understand this game takes a lot to make and keep running, but TinyCo needs to make sure things actually work at an acceptable level instead of just trying to jam too much content into an unstable game. This site however is run exceptionally well, a large thank you to you both Bunny and Alissa!

    • It would appear that TinyCo’s focus has changed. I know there are lots of us on this blog that never minded buying clams to support the game, but it seems the general consensus is that we’re done doing so unless something changes. There was tons of excitement in the days leading up to the Star Trek event and has taken only a week to turn the excitement into disappointment. I really hope that TinyCo reads these posts and finds themselves again. Would love nothing more than to have this game stick around for years.

Another important message to TinyCo: Bunny and Alissa are directly responsible for keeping many of us coming back. This is because they’re always spot on with help, provide a valuable extension to TinyCo’s customer service, which I have yet to here back from after several in game messages, and have built a strong community of avid player that genuinely love the game because of them. I’m in a completely different line of business, but I know one thing for sure. I would have scooped these ladies up a long time ago and provided unlimited support to them. They would certainly have a voice at the table.

Bunny and Alissa, you guys are the best and at this point the only reason I’ve stuck around with the game.

Doesn’t sound like a big deal, but I know if I don’t spend it today, the end is just around the corner for me & this game. Lots of factors involved but the frustration level involved with this whole away mission stuff may be what pushes me over the edge to stop playing. I liked the game a lot & it will be hard to put away for the first month or so but it won’t be the first time I’ve left a game that has just lost its appeal to me.

  46. WTD… why is everyone complaining about drop rates for blue transporter energy and green synthesiser ores, when it’s been written on these pages time and again that all you need to do in order to achieve GUARANTEED DROPS – many per day – is to keep switching rooms around? There’s a whole bunch of irate people rage quitting and cursing Tinyco, but it’s such a simple workaround that these people are making themselves look incredibly foolish and shortsighted, and making me shout WTD!

(By the way, I’m a freemium player, and am right on schedule as far as I can see for unlocking, quests etc.)

    • I’ve now switched out rooms half a dozen times times without the guaranteed payout you speak off, both for the super rad and the crews quarters. Are you sure since this was bandied about so often TC didn’t catch on and change this?

  47. The blue thing drop rate bites hard! Even if you buy one of the buildings that guarantees it, it will take 2 days to send off a crew to not get chocolate bars. I have 2 characters that are on constantly as well as 2 rooms. I have 1 blue thing. Takes 6 to send on a mission and I think 9 for the 2 things to build. Not buying Worg because 10.00 is a lot for a character that is useless after the event is over. Considering that most of my characters are in inventory because they have nothing to do proves this. I am sure the design is done to make money but I refuse to spend money on a chance of getting something. Buying Worg should guarentee blue and chocolate bars.

  48. After reading the comments for the last couple of events, I started to see a red line…
The first reaction is always “Is that it?”
People seems to expect everything to be served directly when the event starts.
And when the second part starts…
“Oh crap, it is too much, I will never be able to finish this before the start of the next phase, these drops are horrible!!!”
Suddeny they have too much to do, and they act like they will lose something if they dont finish it before the next part starts.
But then some time before the next part starts…
“Awwww, Im already done, why didnt they give us more to do? COME ON and start the next part already!!!”
    Every… single… event!
Calm down people, be happy that we are able to finish it without micromanaging every minute for 40 days!
Grind whatever custom values they use in the event if you have finished everything else instead of whining!
What the deuce is it with modern gamers!

  50. WTD? The first week of this event was fun. This second week is not so much. Deanna’s chocolates are practically unobtainable. These away missions take too much transporter energy. Two days to collect energy and no good reward? WTD?
