Quahog Star Trek Walkthroughs: Phase 2

Hello There Clammers!

Star Trek has arrived in Quahog!  And with this second phase you’ll unlock Deanna, Klingon Chris & travel to strange new planets!  (well at least send characters to travel)

  1. Does anybody know why Chris is jumping up and down in front of the Griffin house? I’ve been looking around but just can’t find the answer..

  2. Also does anyone think the badassery building is essential? I’m low on crystals and working on building cargo bats so I’m trying to only build what will help the most so I can catch up thanks

  3. Can you guys please post a main and side quests guide for part 2? I Was sick so started the event late and only want to do the quests and builds that are absolutely necessary but I am confused. Some are saying you only need xp to progress some say you need to be passed a certain quest. Help please and thanks for the hard work 🙂

    • They are posted. This is the main one. What is it you are looking for? So far you ONLY need to be on a certain Starfleet Level… all the questline does is hold you up a lil from triggering the next one.

  4. Do i have to complete the “frame of mind” line?
    I am on the 3rd phase…
on the 6th part of Frame it asks me to build the Crapper, but I have no reason to do so, other than the questline itself.I rather build something + useful. 😦

  7. Update to Strategy:

    1) Super Rad Cargo Bay has also been changed to 10 hours making the drop rate considerably less than it was before the update. Swapping with this room will produce less greens than allowing normal play.

    2) Mort and Riker alone no longer produce the billboard. Still working on this one. If anyone has gotten this after the update, less us know as the billboard is needed for the main quest line.

    Hope this helps. Good Luck!

  8. Brief notes on stategy:

    1) Chocalate for Troi – Only send Geordi, Peter, and Worf or Chris (with Worf it will work everytime).

    2) Headbands for Troi – Keep Bruce and Joe on task, run 2 wardrobes (room swap with this will take longer so don’t do it)

    3) Books for Chis – Run 2 cargo bays and Worf (if you got him). Swapping with Rad cargo bays may work out unless TinyCo changes it too. Both were at 4 hour builds, same as timer on rooms. Drop rate on regular cargo bays and Worf is about 66% should get the books without issue or swap needed over time. Swap as needed unless changed.

    4) Do not set Geordi on his 24 hour for part 4 until you have 8 transporter energy AND Peter OR Mort, Geordi , AND Riker available. Once Geordi is done with his 24 hour, it triggers a timed section in which timing does not leave much room (3 hours) for error. Success in this will get you a free whopping 5 whole clams. Woot?

    5) Transporter Energy – For those who used and abused the accidental Kobayashi Maru exploit (kudos for the reference though I’m sure the exploit was unintended) in “reprogramming” of rooms (swapping) to get close to max (99 I think is max of any non-currency items in this game), hats off and tsk tsk at the same time. But if it worked for Kirk…. Anyway, the drop rate by swapping has been bumped from a possible 30/day max to 6/day max ( 7 with Worf. Conversely, allowing the drop rate to work “as intended” results in about an average of 5-7/day. Unfortunately the numbers don’t lie and the Kirk’s of the world still have the advantage. Additionally, if coupled with a round robin of either the Rad Cargo or Crew Quarters, additonal resources can be gained (life support or synth).

**Disclaimer: I can’t condone this course of action but see the merits regardless.

Hope this bit of a guide helped. Nest of luck.

  10. So if I read correctly frame of mind is the questline that needs to be accomplished to unlock warp 3? So in that case we can continue to get that darn chocolate for troi but continue on in the event. That put me at ease.

    Like

    • Just fyi I only finished the “Earn Synthesizer Ores” portion of Frame of Mind Pt. 3 because I didn’t want to waste precious Transporter Energy and Synthesizer Ore by buying the Klingon Temple if it wasn’t necessary. My Warp Core level is now 3 and my Starfleet level is 4. So far I don’t think that skipping the completion of Frame of Mind has had any impact. I’m a freemium player.

  13. Phase 3 will start too soon for me, I need to get that billboard from the away mission, with only 1 blue energy and no-one/nothing having dropped one in a couple of days now… How am I supposed to start phase 3 unless they actually remove the requirements? I still need books for Chris, still need 12 chocolate, but I don’t really care for the ships characters, I just want the outfits.

But seriously, I won’t be able to start phase 3, cause they won’t change the ridiculously awfull droprate of the energy? To quote another show: “Laaame”. (Yes, Eric Cartman.) Unless the drop rates will be adjusted a.s.a.p. or anything else to our advantage, I’m afraid it’ll take me the entire month to just get enough energy to do the away mission for the billboard. Meh!

Any suggestions? I didn’t bother swapping rooms, as I’m trying to save up those crystals.

    • Who said you can’t start Phase 3? So far the only requirement I’ve seen is to be to Starfleet XP Level 4.

Just check the comments in Transporter post to see the different results people got.

  14. ✨Seems like I’m not having any good luck whatsoever with getting items from sending characters on away-missions!!..Am I missing something or doing ANYTHING wrong? Ferengi Mort just got done with transporting to the Oh’NoS planet by HIMSELF and only brought back a few crystals and XP points!? Bunny or anyone else, Have you gotten his billboard yet?? If so, what combination of characters did ya use?? Curious to know if it’s only 1 certain character OR a group of characters OR…if it’s different from game to game of course lol.
I haven’t even received ANY chocolate bars at all either for Deanna!! I almost have ALL headbands and only thing that’ll be left to collect for her will be thosr chocolate bars!!!
The VERY First time I had used the transporter, I can’t remember who exactly I sent on it, BUT I received the 5 Klingon dictionaries, crystals and XP…✨💫

  15. Any tips for getting the dictionaries? Still need 11 for Klingon Chris. Is there any combination of people that gives a better chance of dictionary drops than “Unlikely” on the Oh Nos away mission? I have Worf and all the freemium characters/skins except for Troi and Klingon Chris.

  16. As I was tapping away my tribbles a few minutes ago it dawned on me that TinyCo must have spent a fortune in getting the rights to the Star Trek brand, suddenly I don’t mind spending a few more £s on clams. It’s something we forget when these events hit, that TinyCo need to cover massive licensing costs before they see any profit for themselves. Anyone got a wild guess what it would cost to use the Star Trek brand etc, bet the final figure would make my eyes water.

    • Let me put it this way… it cost me (for my job) $25,000 just to get George Takei to say THREE words for reuse. AND… his manager put a time limit on its use where it would expire and we would have to pay again to use it or get a new one. Does that give you an idea? Lol 😉

  17. So, now that that’s gone, what’s the best way to get transporter energy? I’ve had 2 rec rooms and both of my characters going around the clock, and if I’m super lucky, I might get 1 a day. I’ve only earned enough to make two trips since the 2nd phase started, and both times all I got were dililithium crystals. I have everything but the chocolate for Deanna and almost have Chris unlocked, but just can’t seem to get blue energy. Side note, Bonnie has been going to happy hour for almost 2 straight weeks now and still hasn’t dropped any green energy. Suggestions?

  18. rec room has changed to a 10 hour creation, there goes the room trick. Apparently they really did only want us getting 1 or 2 transporter cubes a day?

    Like

    • Yea it was basically a work around and they’ve now patched it…since we’ve all realized how to use it. That’s why we try to keep things hush hush in the comments. The problem is not everyone realized the importance of keeping those little tricks on the DL and wrote a post about it.

Essentially, aside from making an area called “Super Secret Section for Game Errors in Your Favor”…where could we share & keep it hush hush?

              • Here’s the thing… they pretty much know when these exist. They knew about the rooms a week ago. They do pay attention. Some things they let go…others it’s more that it may cause more issues further down the line that they have to fix them. But they really do pay attention. Even when you think they don’t

            • Honestly I feel bad for the person. They’re taking a lot of heat for it and in reality it’s not their fault. They thought they were helping and they’re not the ones that made the change, TinyCo made the change.
That’s the love/hate relationship with this game we all have. We love it and it ticks us off so badly that we look to jump down everyone’s throats when something is difficult or is changed.

    • Yea, TinyCo changed it. That’s what happens when posts are written about things like that. That’s why we keep it in the comments and *hush hush* to try and prevent TinyCo from seeing the issue. However, another site decided to write a post about it…

      Like

      • So instead of fixing their painfully broken transporter energy drop rates, they decided to break the only thing that made this week’s tasks even remotely doable? *smh* What are they thinking?

I need at least 12 energy to get the remaining chocolate (assuming I get chocolate from the mission I’m on right now and chocolate drops on the next two missions I try), plus another 8 energy in reserve for whenever they decide to spring the 5-clam timed quest on me, plus at least 2 for the billboard so I can advance the quests and upgrade my warp core (which I’m supposed to do in 2 days if I want to stay on track). That’s 110 hours to get by room swapping at 10 hours per pair, or more than 4 and a half days, with no guarantee that will even be enough.

Is there any chance of getting Tiny Matt back here to explain how they thought this was supposed to work?

        Like

        • We can try…but they’re rule of thinking is it’s supposed to take a while to unlock her. They want you to play and grind it out for the entire event, if you unlock her quickly then you won’t be going into your game frequently to try and get her (or anyone else)

          Like

          • I hear that, but as soon as we unlock the next area, we’re going to have another person and another outfit that we’re going to have to grind to unlock, and we’re not going to have Troi available to help. Then the next week will add another person and another outfit, and we’re going to be even farther behind because we started warp core level 3 behind schedule. There is simply no way to keep up if it takes 30 hours just to get the energy for a single away team mission, plus another 8 hours to run the mission, which takes several people out of action and has no guarantee of success.

            Liked by 1 person

        • It was a happy glitch, it wasn’t bound to last. No worries, they always add more into the game to help us as the Event Progresses. It has been the same pretty much since shortly after the game was launched. Just keep doing what you can and hang in there to see what comes at us next. 😉

          Like

      • Then they should change the drop rates as well. Rec room should ALWAYS drop blue energy. Or more character should have tasks for blue energy. I know that TinyCo do listen to you Alissa and Bunny! 🙂

What happened to Klingon Meg? I know everyone dont care for her…but she is needed for the collection. 33. Hazzah! They finally increased the drop rate for chocolate, now with 3 or 4 characters on the away mission the drop rate shoots up to likely! Thanks to t-Co for listening!

    Like

  34. I think they increased the drop for chocolate. Before I was getting unlikely for Geordi and Chris to drop them and just now it jumped to likely and all the other bonus items had a lower range.

    Like

    • Noticed the same thing and first thaught it bumped up cause i got my first chocolate.

I have been using the room rotating since end of phase 1. Unlocked Chris 2 days ago without away missions, got everything from the replicator and now i’m missing like 3 headbands and 8 chocolates for Troi. Left with 85 yellow, 22 green and 32 blue.

Haven’t used any clams but just like Bunny i’m ill and have had problem sleeping so alot of nightly updates 🙂 I guesd that without active playing and room swapping, witch feels like a ‘hack’, this week would be next to imposible to finish in time.

      Like

      • To be honest, my bet is that the drop rates started so crazy high because of the room swap issue. They can’t make the Enterprise static, or take away the usual drop on completion reward without angering and/or confusing the players.
They must have realized that the word would get out and tried balancing the event that way.

        Like

        • I’d take that bet. The room swap exploit is not immediately obvious, and if they were balancing the event for that drop rate, it would be far simpler to make the energy an always drop from the rooms so the rate is the same either way. Why would they penalize players not swapping rooms by never dropping the energy for them if the plan from the start was to drop tons of energy?

This is exactly like the telenovela event (and most other events, really). They picked numbers out of a hat without any testing or doing the basic math to figure out what players can actually accomplish in a given time frame and now they’re scrambling to patch things together to get to next week, when we will likely see a new balancing problem.

          Like

        • And there you go. They just found out about the room swap and broke it by making it take 5 times as long. They really think the event is balanced when the drop rate is terrible, and they still haven’t figured out that they’re wrong.

But I’m just saying I don’t think players should HAVE to do that like it’s just way too much of a hassle in my opinion!!??…TinyCo., can just SAVE US PLAYERS by looking over AGAIN and fixing the drop rates! I’m just wondering if this is some sort of glitch maybe?!… Has Anyone ELSE notice and see the same problem in thier games?I don’t know exactly what it’s called and don’t know if there is a specific “term” for it so I’m just trying to explain how my town looks at this very moment lol!
Anyways, it also seems like my game is starting to lag again alot more than before! Just checking in!. Could it possible be caused by some certain stuff I have out of my inventory and displayed in my town???? ✨💫

  42. Woah woah…and woah. Did anybody else notice the transporter drop “chance” levels change? I sent Geordi and Klingon Chris a few hours ago. The chance of drops of chocolates was only like 2 bars high…then…
Checked back a minute ago and now…LIKELY! almost full bars….what the deuce?!

    No complaints here.

  43. Just logged in and sent a group to Wai Iota IV and I think the drop rates have been altered. Chocolate drops far more frequently now. With just Chris and Worf it was almost a 100% likelihood. I may unlock Deanna yet!
