Hey there Minions!
Now that TinyCo has officially confirmed the Star Trek Event my lil icon I posted teased to you, we can now go ahead and let you know that March 19th, 2015 the Family Guy Star Trek Event will be launching into our silly lil games.
Are you excited NOW??!! What are your thoughts for the Event? Excited to see how they play into the Series? Ideas of what we will expect? Let us know.

On the flip side, many iOS players should now be seeing a newer Version in the Market for the App (1.7.1). I am still checking to see if my game is back to normal on that device.
Just finished updating the newer iOS Version to my devices. All seem to be functioning just fine. One I did have to go through the Beginning of the game til the Menu popped to let me sign back in, but it looks like all is working as intended again. WOOHOO!!! Downside, my cute lil Star Trek Icon is gone. At least we now know it is coming soon. 😉
You may also see this lil fun thing pop up in your game. Feel free to tap on “ENGAGE” as it will essentially take you to their FB Page and the info for the Upcoming Event.

Might be reading too much into it, but Peter may be in a Commannder Rieker. If that’s true Lois will probably be Counselor Troi. Here’s hoping for a couple DS9 characters. We can probably expect a Kirk character, since Shatner’s likeness has been in a few episodes. If we get Kirk we better get Khan with him >:)

Forgot to mention this, all TNG characters have had their likeness used in that one episode, so they’re all fair game probably. Also this would be a chance to put a Seth McFarland character in, he guest starred in 2 or 3 episodes of Enterprise (The one with Captain Archer).

Wouldn’t it make more sense if this was a star wars event and not star trek? They did the first three episodes (or last three…) the last few years. Hopefully they get Patrick Stewart involved with a worf character and how his head looks like a fannie.

I wonder if they are planning on doing a Blue Harvest event nearer December. You know, near where h enemies a certain force awakens. And that they could get it past those mousey eared lawyers as an inexpensive way to advertise that movie. Or, perhaps I’m making too much sense and putting more thought into it than they have.

I’ll likely play it slowly, as I am not a Star Wars/Trek fan. Maybe there’s a nice character or skin to get, but I don’t see myself investing too much effort or even clams on this event.

Please pass this on to Tinyco, we need to have a memorial to Spock, Not one that requires cash payment, or tasks, just give everyone a Statue of Leonard Nimoy… it would be such a great tribute to a great man.

A week from now oh wonderful. Hopefully my town will be in order by then it’s a disaster and every idea I come up with and where it should be in accordance to the land gets screwed up because I can only turn items two damn directions grr make them fully rotatable all directions that would make things so much easier. If I don’t get it done I might have to hire a quahog town designer lol.

Never cared for Star Trek, I’m a Star Wars fan and I was kinda hoping they where going to add that. I also was wishing for a st. Patricks day event but I’m going to look on the bright side, I won’t feel any need to spend clams on this event and I’m sure it’ll keep me entertained even though I’m not a fan of Star Trek.

Was hoping there’d be a new mini-event or update or something today like every other week before… So disappointed we have another boring week of just collecting plutonium only… Wished there’d be something to break the monotony of the plutonium with a St. Paddy’s event or something else… Oh well 😦

I am relived and thanks for letting us know the update to FG will not mess up our games. I just hope no bugs in this event like valentines day. With the events I have played so far I kinda go after buildings since they drop money so defiently looking forward to that. I was hoping for a st Patricks day event to get a lepachurn but oh well. At least I have stewie now 🙂

Heck, I really kinda hate ST, so I know for a fact I won’t be spending any money. Finally, and event I can relax during. given how fast this was almost certainly slapped together, might not flow as well as people hope.
so, anybody taking bets on how many clams Spock will cost?

okay so everybody is concerned with if Leonard Nimoy is gonna be showing up in our games or not in this next new event, BUT I was just sitting here thinking and wondering that WHAT IF there is a good chance contracts and legal issues were ALREADY approved by him to be in the game like maybe awhile back before he passed away??.,, Idk but I wouldn’t be surprised if he shows up!! 🙂
I absolutely think this Star Trek event will be not that good IF Spock isn’t gonna be in it at all :[ that’s why I’m hoping you know since TinyCo.,had mentioned what like back in the middle of January I think? they are all on the planning the next few events in the next upcoming months and what not..just a thought tho!! Wishful thinking most likely!! 😉

Since Leonard Nimoy is now gone (live long and prosper), they no longer need to do anything to get his rights. Once someone is dead their image, name, voice, etc. are able to be used publicly by whomever. However, I would assume it is too soon and they will just use a generic Spock character or the Zachary Quinto version.

That is not an accurate statement. The rights to use their likeness, voice, etc (publicity rights) is now the property of their estate, and permission must be sought for its use, especially in a commercial venture, such as this game.

I think it is cool they are doing a star trek event but have to say they should not have to feel the need to add a spock in memory item. even though he just passed am sure whatever they have lined up for the event will be cool. for all we know he could have already been lined up and is part of the event.

I am so hoping for a St. Patrick’s Day event between now and then. I mean of all the games to do it, a game about an Irish family better.

Looking forward to this one. Although I cannot imagine that TC could fit the entire Star Trek Universe into a single event, the teasers seem to imply that at least TOS and TNG will be represented. Those two alone offer an abundance of possibilities for new characters, skins, buildings and decos.
Curious to see who/what will show up. Klingons? The Borg? Spock would be a no-brainer, heck, some might be offended if he does not make an appearance. Of course, Captain Kirk as well, but which version? Let us not forget Doctor McCoy, or how about Khan, maybe even Worf? Possibly a Sulu skin for George Takei, or Captain Picard for Patrick Stewart (a Locutus skin would be killer, but not likely).
There are infinite possibilities for possible buildings and decos. Ships like a Klingon Bird of Prey, the Defiant (DS9), perhaps even a Borg Cube. Locations like a transporter pad, or the Triskelion battle arena. Characters like the Gorn, the Horta, or even Cardassians could wind up as NPC’s roaming our little Quahogs.
I foresee myself dropping some Clams on this one – I just know that there will be a few irresistible artifacts coming down the pipe. Still, this event will have high expectations amongst Star Trek fans regardless – I just hope TC did their homework…

My concern with Nimoy is due to he DID pass, any contract and legality issues not completed before… will now be more difficult to complete as it will have to go through the Estate as well as other channels. I know they WANT to give him big props. I am curious to see how it pans out. Knowing just how much they do go through to try and make things awesome, I think what they CAN legally do with it will be pretty cool. 😉

Wow. Exciting but so much to do still. I am still busy with unlocking Olivia and Pawtucket Pat and crafting items. This is gonna put everything on the back burner come the 19th. I am sure is gonna be a time crunch to unlock all available items for those of us who don’t buy clams, and hopefully Spock isn’t premium.

TinyCo if you’re listening, a great tribute to Leonard Nemoy and to his fans would be to have “Spockified $5 Bills” as one of the quest items to collect. Seen on multiple countries’ currencies but famously the past few weeks on plenty of Canadian $5 bills given Spock’s likeness to Sir Wilfrid Laurier.
Or it could be an action item in one of the quest lines, where Peter or Brian or Stewie spockifies a bill.

lol. I’ve “spocked” fivers since realizing how funny American friends found when I would go to Seattle. Which means I’ve been doing that since roughly 1998.
The older paper bills were much easier to work with than the newer plastic based ones.

Too bad it’s a week from now. I hate having down time in this game and I’m finishing the quests after you get Olivia. I probably won’t load the game up for 4-5 days, kinda sucks. I’d worry about leveling characters but there’s no bonus to capping them besides a gold Facespace icon.
Kinda shocked the district doesn’t have some kind of second part in some form.

I noticed this a few days ago when I, coincidentally, tried loading the game onto an iPod Touch. In the App Store the icon looked normal, but when it loaded, the Star Trek logo took its place. I couldn’t load the game though. I tried immediately deleting/reloading, but then couldn’t get the App Store to do that. Just now tried again and same thing… logo is normal in App Store, but when it loads it’s Star Trek and I can’t get into the game (error says “could not connect to server). However, I’ve not had this experience on my iPad. That logo remains the same and I’m able to play. After all this I decided to look for intel and saw the post here. I figured they were going to incorporate Star Trek into the game since the recent passing of LN. I’ve not updated on my iPad yet. Kinda don’t want the hassle if it doesn’t work correctly.
Weird thing: why doesn’t the app come up in a search on the App Store? I had to dig through all my past purchases to find it (not easy on a Touch). And, other than the OS on my iPod touch being antiquated, why am I still unable to open it if the problem has been “fixed”?
Ya, I know, report it. I will. Here’s my actual question: can one successfully start and play a different FG:tQFS game on the same device without losing progress in the original game? I get heyd need to be set up under different email or FB accounts. I’ve been burned before with game company promising to keep progress, then after having a problem the game company (not TinyCo) does nothing to help. Lost a few hundred levels. Not cool.

This is what I had to do on the device that was stuck in the iOS Apple Market Shutdown issue. I had to once again delete the app from my device. Once deleted I restarted my iPod. Once back up I went back to the App Market and went to my “Updates” area. There I have a listing of “Purchased” apps. I just tapped to redownload the FGTQFS App from the Cloud. Once it completed that download I immediately saw Family Guy back needing an update to 1.7.1. Once updated, back in the game… however I DID have to go through the brand new game stuff to get to the Menu and log back into my Facebook account.

FYI… I was doing all this on my iPod Touch as well. 😉

I am so, so excited about this coming event! I couldn’t stop squealing when I first saw the video. I’m really, reallly hoping to be able to get Kirk and Spock (preferably in TOS uniforms….classic…and NOT based on the new movie actors). The video and icon seem to be referencing TNG more though so I’m a bit concerned that TOS won’t be represented. I still have hope though.
In terms of iOS, for those who didn’t update and get locked out of the app originally, did your game still reset with the update (making you go back through the beginning storyline before signing in)?

It should be back now. You may need to uninstall the app you have and reinstall it to see the update. (Had to do that on one of my devices.) Just make sure your game is linked to Facebook or email to save your progress.

Not a big fan of Star Trek. Nevertheless, im always excited for the next event. Although i was more expecting a st. Patricks or easter event, but i guess those will be mini or weekend events.

While I enjoy Star Trek in most of its incarnations, it feels like this would be a better fit with Tapped Out, rather than Family Guy. While Seth MacFarlane is a big fan of it, it seems like more FG fans are not. The Simpsons/Futurama embraced Star Trek more. Star Wars would have probably been more welcome by the fans. However, I look forward to this.

Lol. If you go to the FB Page, negative is ALL you will read… no matter what is in the game.
I just know that Star Wars is the #1 request… but you gotta get past all those Lawyers with mouse ears on in order to be able make that one happen. I think that is what is causing the most frustration. That and people are bored and want SOMETHING right now. 😉

So you’ve finally come around to the realisation that SW is unlikely now that it is owned by Disney – and they will unlikely want their product associated with the risqué humour of family guy ! – I’ve been saying this for ages . Not a Star Trek fan, so I’m not very excited about this event. Still, it gives me hope for a Star Wars event. I mean Blue Harvest, Something, Something, Something Dark Side, and It’s A Trap makes it so easy to expand upon. I can’t wait. 🙂

I still haven’t unlocked Pawtucket Pat, or crafted very much at the brewery because it’s taking me ages to get the things I need. I’ve only sent the blimp time travelling once so I’m not even close to unlocking Olivia. Now they say we are getting a Star trek event next week. Don’t get me wrong I like Star trek (and I’ll be interested to see if Patrick Stewart, George Takei and Benedict Cumberbatch will get some extra use) but it feels like I’m getting overwhelmed with things to do

It is the nature of the game. It may seem busy for you, but to others they are bored and want something to do. Lol.
No worries, just remember that Districts are here to stay and that you have all the time you need for them. So you can focus on Events when they hit. 😉

I tried to do that for the Valentines event, my first one, then I got hit with the fact I needed Joe to be on level ten before I could move forward.
I just now got anime peter, and I work during the week and play during the weekend, and only check in with the game during my morning coffee, after dinner, and sometimes before sleep, so it remains to be seen how much time you need to play to complete an event.

I am not really super excited about this one but I do hope that they give us a Wesley Crusher\Will Wheaton character. In addition to Spock, obviously.
