So here’s the work around…Tribbles will spawn on the Enterprise endlessly until next week sometime. So… grab em while you can.
For those still in Quahog and the spawn has stopped before you get Riker… please let them know.
Again, we know many of you are still saying you are stuck in Quahog. (Officer and and Idiot Part 1). A fix WAS pushed this morning so make sure your game is up to date. Try restarting your device to see if that helps. Also try tapping “Go” from the task or Riker.
3-21 6 2PM EST: TinyCo pushed another patch. Let me know once the hour mark hits if your Tribbles are back after Part 4 of Officer and an Idiot. 🙂
Update on the update… it did not relay through as intended. Hang in there. TinyMatt and the crew are on it. They know we need these Tribbles to continue. So sorry for the hiccups. Help is still on top of it. I think the Tribbles may have got in the patch lines and chewed through. Lil brats apparently don’t want us squishing them. Lol
3-21 3 2PM EST: After sending reports last night Tribbles stopped at Officer and an Idiot Part 4, have not gotten an update on a patch as of yet. They are looking into it as it is supposed to go to Part 7. Hang in there. Will Update when I get more info back.

Where No Griffin Has Gone Before Part 1-4 (Quahog Only)
An Officer and an Idiot Part 1-7 (Starts in Quahog but continues in Enterprise. Quahog will stop as soon as you go to Enterprise.)
Hope this helps out now. If you do not see the change right away, wait an hour for the next spawn time as we may have JUST missed it. 😉
FYI… TinyCo did clarify the Tribbles STOP spawning in Quahog once you collected the 35 in Part 4. Still waiting on when/if they stop on Enterprise. DON’T PANIC!!! There are other things coming to still help with Riker and the Crystals. Hang in there.

Hey there Tribbles!
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! I am having so much frakkin fun and it is only day one into this Event. This Geeky Nerd Girl is just all sorts of giddy and bouncy. (Someone send poor Alissa some meds, drinks, sweets, earplugs, rope to tie down Bunny, ummmm… Lol.)
Anywho… where was I? Oh yah, TRIBBLES!!!
If you are not a SciFi Fanatic and you haven’t seen many Star Trek episodes, or none at all. You are a bit taken aback by all these lil Fuzzballs roaming the town and why the heck they are.
Let me first give you an idea just WHAT a Tribble is. I will keep it VERY basic. Lol. These lil floating puffs of fur come from the Original TV Series of Star Trek. They were sold to unknowing crew members of the Starship Enterprise as “pets” (other travelers too). Much like Gremlins, these lil things tend to multiply quite quickly after eating something they shouldn’t have. For the Crew of the Enterprise, this started causing a major headache when they got into every nook and cranny in the ship… which is stuck in space. They got into wiring, food, and everywhere they should not be. Essentially becoming a huge nuisance to everyone and disabling the Enterprise. Eventually the Crew got rid of them. They have since shown up in many more episodes as well as the Movie Versions of Star Trek, including the new REBOOT Star Trek Movies. (Again, this is just basics. Do a search online if you really want a LOT more details.)

Now that you have an idea of the lil creatures origin, let’s move on to the Tribbles in our game for this really cool Star Trek Family Guy Event.
WHEN WILL THE TRIBBLES APPEAR IN MY GAME?
In Quahog~
The Tribbles first start showing up in your Quahog during Where No Griffin Has Gone Before Part 4. You will be required to “pop” 35 of them as one part of the 3 part task. Once you hit this point, a “poof” of smoke will appear on your sidewalks as the Tribbles start to randomly appear. Popping Quahog Tribbles will NOT count towards the Enterprise Tasks.
On the Enterprise~
The Tribbles first start showing up on the Enterprise during An Officer and An Idiot Part 4. You will be required to pop 70 of them as one of the 2 part task. Once you hit this point, they will “poof” in randomly and start wandering the ship. Popping Enterprise Tribbles will NOT count towards the Quahog Tasks.
WHAT IS THE SPAWN RATE ON TRIBBLES?
(Same for both Quahog & Enterprise)
As of this post, the spawn rate is NOT public. That means there is not a verified source or detail yet on the Spawn of the Tribbles.
From what I am seeing in my game, 6 Tribbles Spawn every hour in my Quahog and on the Enterprise (once I get to those points in the questline).
Here is the Breakdown of Tribbles I had during 10 Tribble Spawns (1 Spawn group every hour for a total of 10 hrs) :
3 Yellow Tribble
2 Beige Tribble
1 Brown Tribble
I was still at Starfleet XP Level 1 when testing this (XP for the Event). That may or may not impact for the spawn amount. I will update if I see anything change. For now, it will at least give you a general idea of what to expect.
HELP! I CAN’T FIND THEM!
In Quahog~
They will spawn on sidewalks only. So if you have sidewalks hidden behind buildings or decorations, this will be a lil more tricky for you as they are REALLY little. The less sidewalks you have the better as well as the more visible your sidewalks are the better.
If you still are having trouble seeing them, you can always use the Characters needing them for Material Drops to find them. Just tap on that Characters Material Drop Down Menu. Locate a Tribble. Tap “GO”. The game will take you to them or tell you there are no more.
Now look at this Zoomed Out pic of Quahog with People. Can you spot the Tribbles? They are REALLY TEENY, so stay zoomed in and don’t hide your sidewalks. 
On Enterprise~
They will spawn around pretty much in any room they feel they want to go. They will inch along the walls and in corners, so zoom in when you can and tap on them quickly.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I POP A TRIBBLE?
One of two things will happen when you locate and tap on a Tribble to Pop it.
1: You tap on it and it spits out ONLY ONE the following (the drop rates are MY personal calculations not anything in FAQ, your results may vary)
In Quahog~
Nothing (Rare/Extra Rare)
+1 Dilithium Crystal (Common)
+2 Dilithium Crystals (Uncommon)
1 Tricorder (Uncommon/Rare) –This item may vary depending on Character being unlocked.
1 Clam (Epic)
On Enterprise~
Nothing (Rare/Extra Rare)
+1 Dilithium Crystal (Common)
+2 Dilithium Crystals (Uncommon)
+5 Dilithium Crystals (Uncommon/Rare)
1 Captain’s Logs (Uncommon/Rare)-This item may vary depending on Character being unlocked.
1 Clam (Epic)
2: You tap on it and it multiplies and spawns up to 6 more Tribbles. If this happens, pop them quickly as they tend to disappear as fast as they multiplied. Then you will go through the same payout as listed above. This will increase your payouts quickly.
As you can see in the Quahog picture below, two of the Tribbles I tapped spawned 6 more each giving me a total of 12. They scattered fast. This happens in both Quahog & on the Enterprise.
Now you have an idea of what to expect from these furry lil creatures. If YOU are having issues with your lil Tribble Fuzballs spawning, remember they are REALLY REALLY TEENY and to look close as they are easy to miss if you have hidden streets. If you still feel there is an issue, please reach out to TinyCo (a fix was already pushed for them, so they should be spawning correctly for everyone).

I hate these little things.
Cost me 12 clams already – tried to get them all before they’d hide behind a building again and accidentally completed two tasks with clams. Kinda my own fault, but still. Those stupid little furballs better give me back those clams.
But on the bright side: That little incident got me to finally rearranging my town(been meaning to do that for months, still had my halloween decorations up :D). Now with less pavements blocked by buildings and more good lookingness 😀

You are the 2nd one reporting it. I have a game almost to that point that I am going to test out and see if I get them. I will update. In the meantime, please let TinyCo know if the 10 Clams do not sync up and show on your Clam Count. (Sometimes visiting Ollie or a Neighbor can kick it to sync. Or force closing and going back in.)

Be careful as that’s the point where mine stopped spawning altogether. none have popped on enterprise and none have popped in town. Also i don’t think i got my clams but i’m less concerned about that right now. I already sent a note to Tiny co. My tribbles need some romance, maybe some mood music, candlelight, wine. Barring that I’m requisitioning a Viagra shipment to my Enterprise.

I will tell you this. With the two on my GS4… I had to, no joke, delete EVERY other app but them. 64GB external card. BOTH on that instead of my hard drive. If I used smaller card…. issues. If I add another game app… crashing galore. Both are so highly active they fight for that memory. So, I bought a tablet too and try to keep the Tab for TSTO and the phone for FG

I had tribbles spawn for the task that required popping 35 of them, but they have not respawned since (been about 12 hours now). Do I have to unlock Riker before they begin spawning again?

Riker’s ship still not in event area. Sent in game message early yesterday afternoon. Nice to know Tinyco fixed the stuff that comes AFTER repairing Riker’s ship. I have tried all the usual tactics and beyond to resolve this matter. I am 99.9% sure the problem exists on Tinyco’s end. I have never experienced a problem till now, been playing since the beta days. Any info on this matter would be great. THNX.

I keep getting a config load error, have not been able to log in since the Star Trek quest line started. I have restarted, rest and forced shut down but still have the load error. Any ideas?

Last ditch resort its to Uninstall/Reinstall the app after clearing it from all your cache/data. But ONLY do this if your game is saved to an Email or Facebook so you can load it back when reinstalled.

Just got my first clam from a tribble! 🙂 Was hoping they would cooperate for that, unlike Carl with the video for free clams a while back… that was disappointing, but these tribbles are great! They spawn so quickly! Had 6, took care of them, 30 minutes or so later, I go back on my land and have 6 more! My tribbles appeared right from the start of the event. Should be unlocking Riker when I get done with work tonight, need 2 more beard trimmers, and have 3 characters trying for them. Only bad thing, I put unlocking Stewie aside, I still need 3 plutonium rods for him, and just Brian alone isn’t going to do it.. Hm… now I am ranting, sorry! Just so excited!

Do these spawn with any regularity like the couples did for the Valentines quest? i.e. every hour on the hour so if I log in at 10:55 I can get those tribbles then in a few minutes I would get the next set for the next hour?

I got 99 tribbles but a spock ain’t one… Anyone still trying to unlock Olivia? I’ve sent the blimp on bath house and dinosaur quest, but they came back with nothing. Triple checked inventory.

Did the questline prompt for it? (and the bathhouse isn’t something the blimp brings back. On that turn it’s a snake. You have to get the bath house in the store…ie purchase for $$)

I think that once everyone gets their bearings and realizes exactly what it is they are looking for they will be able to zip right through the quests. The Tribbles, though small, are visible.
I just zoom and cruise my streets. Once I find one, I tap it. But deal with only one ‘loaded one’ at a time. If you can, avoid tapping on two loaded ones. Once they replicate, the offspring will disappear fairly quickly. You can find that loaded one later, it won’t disappear until tapped.

my boyfriend is having real problems with the spawn rates of the tribbles. when the event first started he seemed to get less than me. we waited hoping it would get fixed. there was a short period of time today where he was getting around the same as me which was about 25. now hes back to how it was at the beginning which was about 10. he has fallen way behind in crystals. im 300 ahead of him and we have been playing the game the same amount. thats a big difference! have emailed tinyco hoping for a fix soon so he doesn’t continue to fall so far behind.

Gotta watch the ones that multiply. They WILL disappear as I stated in this post. Like within 10 seconds once you tap the Tribble that pops out the extras. That will make a HUGE difference in amounts.

Just for clarification… You keep saying “disappear”. Do you mean that they will actually go away after a certain time period or just that they are fast and will quickly move to a different location?

Mine disappear within 10 seconds if I did not pop them after they multiplied. The rest of the Tribbles that were part of the Original 6 that spawned hang round for a while. I didn’t let them sit to see.

I have no problems with them, and I love that I got all tricorders from them before Peter finished watching TV.
My only problem is that I still need 5 beard trimmers for Riker.
I know that it is still extremely early in the event and that I most likely will get them before the end of the day, but it still feels that Im missing stuff because I havent visited Enterprise yet.
I need my daily dose of Star Trek!!!

I am in the same boat, but don’t get too anxious. TC always start you out slow and I think it’s to try to get some people to Clam the game because they panic. I have been playing about 9 months and have gotten all the freemium stuff quite easily.

I think it’s because the spawn rate is so quick on them that there won’t be a max allowed on screen for them. Like you, I’ve come back an hour later to release the replicators, LOL. They are frequent and can be found if you zoom in. They don’t disappear until after you activate the replication. After the mitosis the duplicates disappear quickly. And beware, the little shysters hide under buildings.

I hate the fact that you always need to make your town look like crap for these events because it’s near impossible to find roaming targets.

I’ve designed my Quahog, so I don’t have to destroy my town when events like this happen. All I have to do is take up the roads. Tribbles only spawn in one section near the Shuttlecraft, so I don’t need to move when I load the game. The rest of my town is designed in zones using builgings as walls where the meeting points go back where the Tribbles spawn when it gets to the where you have to boom things. Giving targets limited pathways to other areas will make it easier for you to bomb them since they are forced to use limited intersections. They’ll cluster giving you a better chance at big numbered hits. I’ll have to post a pic to show what I mean.

I am just irritated that spending clams seems to have ruined my game experience. I guess this made me learn that I should not spend money on the game. Patience. Unlike us…it takes them time to wade through thousands upon thousands of messages from players. So answers aren’t that instant.
They’re aware they players like you are still stating loss of Tribbles.
Just let me ask this… do you have a lot of roads in Quahog? Hidden ones behind buildings? I only ask as they are REALLY TEENY TINY and can be hard to see depending how your town is designed. (See the new Tribble post). They don’t come in huge numbers. Just a few, like I only see 6 total each spawn.
Some players are using Al’s to find them by tapping on costumes using them there. Hang in there.

Per our last conversation I only have a small square section of road now. It made no difference. No tribbles. Secondly, I am not impatient. I am frustrated and as I said before sick atm so I am crankier then usual. A fever will do that.

Also since I am still at 0/35 for the quahog tribbles I can just click go there and see I have none in town. I bought Riker ahead of time which hosed that quest. And now they patch it and I can’t even get tribbles in the enterprise. Just seems the patch hosed me way worse then if I had just kept my mouth shut.

Personally, thus far I think the Tribbles are one of the absolute best mechanics they have done yet for these events. They could very much learn something from this as opposed to the old “bombing” technique from events past that are oft times more of a frustration for the players than anything.
I haven’t even left Quahog yet, and this is already one of my favorite events. 🙂

Glad u made this post cause almost every tribble i touched has spawned into 6 more but i noticed some didnt have as many so i was wondering n was gonna ask if they start disappearing if u dont click them qick enough but u answered my question

I wish I had the gumption to destroy my town like that but I’m simply too invested with everything in little sections and meticulously decorated. It would probably take every bit of 2 hours to rebuild my town if I nuked it.
The plus side is the button for them in Al’s works just fine.

As a side note Bunny, the tribbles started showing up for me long before Part 4 of “Where no Griffin has Gone Before” and long before I got the prompt to pop 35, in fact they showed up in my Quahog almost immediately after I repaired the Shuttlecraft (after the ten second wait.) I noticed them so quickly because at the time, I was in the process of removing my roads, when suddenly there they were; these adorable little creatures scurrying about. Anyway, yeah, I have been tapping them since soon after Riker landed.

Agreed. They’ve been around since Riker required Dilithium. Using his task was how I best found them until he got his 175. Using tasks is definitely the best way to pop tribbles. They’re a huge pain to find, and you want to make sure you pop them in the open and on a stretch of road, or else the ones that spawn next will quickly scatter behind buildings or in every different direction, and you may miss one or two.

My only complaint is that I think they should be a little bigger.

I got a clam this morning from one! Going to have to remove the majority of my sidewalks though because it’s impossible to find and then tap the subsequent tribbles when there’s a building near by and they scuttle behind it!

My tribbles started spawning as soon as Riker was available to start unlocking, well before part 4. I recieved all 8 of my tricorders from tribbles in the first 3 hours of the event.
